Is this an insider tip? Inconspicuous entrance but chic inside. Super friendly staff and there is magic in the kitchen, I can't explain the delicious food any other way. We will definitely eat here more often! We will also try ordering. They also deliver, but go there, it's worth it!

I always wanted to visit this Indian restaurant, but somehow the wish always remained the same, but finally my wife and I went there. We didn't regret it and went straight back the next day. My dish, chicken curry, was something to my liking and will probably become my favorite dish. Everything was great, there was. Start with thin bread, thick as paper, with 4 different dips, all 4 simply delicious. My dish came with rice, you could have eaten the rice alone, it tasted so great, half of it consisted of red rice that probably got its color from turmeric and was flavored with honey and many other spices, among other things. We also ordered garlic bread so we could still use the delicious dip. So we were fed up and politely declined the offer for more rice. The service was just as great as the food, very friendly and any questions about the dishes were happily answered. The ambience also matched well-kept tables, a real feel-good atmosphere. I've already invited my favorite relatives to dinner next week😁

Excellent Indian food and great service! We had a wonderful evening at the Royal Tandoori in Dortmund. The food was simply fantastic - authentic Indian dishes with perfectly balanced spices and fresh ingredients. The butter chicken and homemade naan bread were particularly delicious! The service was equally outstanding: friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with pleasant music in the background. The portions are also generous and the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. We will definitely be back and can fully recommend the Royal Tandoori! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The taste is absolutely different. Butter naan looks like a joke. Butter chicken tastes like maggie masala curry. It was a really horrible experience and I won't recommend it to anyone who would like to taste indian dishes.

We eat here often because it's just so good! For under 20 euros you can get as much rice as you want with a sauce and meat of your choice Every dish we have tried so far tastes good and the rice is great every time.

So far always satisfied and fast delivery. Today the order hasn't arrived after 2 hours, even though they said on the phone an hour ago that the driver is on the way, it will only take 5-10 minutes. Since then, people have been pushed away on the phone and can no longer reach anyone. Absolute no-go!

So far we've only had the food delivered, so we can't say anything about the restaurant itself. But the food is super tasty. The sweet rice with the normal one for the selected dish is very tasty. No matter what you try there, it tastes good. The naan is also very, very good. We have rarely been 100 percent satisfied, but that is the case with Royal Tandoori.

We were actually programmed for “Türk.Restaurant” (but unfortunately it was just a kebab shop! ☹️), So I looked on Google Maps to see what was nearby and the “Royal Tandoori” popped up. Our boys weren't keen at first, but my wife prevailed. And that was a good thing! The four of us were totally thrilled afterwards. Ok, the ambience is somehow typically Indian, but dated, the waitress rocked the place all by herself (so you had to wait), but still everything is good. And then the food came: The 4 of us enjoyed the grill menu for 3 people. ordered + 2 additional naan breads. It was great, very tasty, we were completely full afterwards. And our 10-year-old constant complainer was also completely thrilled. The fun ending was dessert. That didn't work for the boys at all: Looked like applesauce, but it wasn't applesauce!! Some strong-tasting fruit with a hint of rice pudding. When I said it was a puke fruit, the topic was over! 😱🤣😉

Leckeres Essen, freundliche Gastgeber, sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis Wir waren mit Freunden spontan zum Essen dort und haben uns gefreut, dass die Küche auch in den Nachmittagsstunden durchgehend offen ist. Da wir überwiegend Vegetarier sind, ist indische Küche mit den vielen Gemüsegerichten immer eine Option. Wir sind sehr zuvorkommend bedient worden, das Essen war sehr gut, besonders lecker waren die Saucen zum Papaddam. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter.

What a disgrace, I wanted to redeem a voucher for a voucher in the restaurant, but I was denied this on the grounds that there were already many guests with vouchers in the restaurant today and the quota had been exhausted (in other words). Absolute hammer. We have already tested several restaurants but for us no one comes close to this restaurant. The chai, the smoothies, the rice, the meat, everything was absolutely top. The service is also fantastic and always super friendly. I can recommend you to eat here if you want good, quality food/drink. Everything was great when we picked it up and after 25 minutes of driving home the food was still warm and delicious.

Went there for the first time today. Was recently in India (Bengalore, Mumbai, Surat). I really liked Royal Tandoori. Nice service, nice music and very tasty food. There were two of us and we were there on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately we were the only guests at lunchtime. Hope this isn't the norm! I'd love to come back!

This restaurant is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Phoenix, but inside there is no daylight, but that is the only point of criticism. The service was very! kind and courteous. The food is authentic and very tasty. There was savory rice and yellow sweet rice as a side dish. The greeting from the kitchen with 4 different dips was also very tasty! There is beer, but no wine, lassies and soft drinks.

Die Linsencracker und die Soßen, die es als Gruß aus der Küche gibt, sind mit Abstand die besten, die ich bisher gegessen habe. Das Hauptgericht, Nummer 47….. mhmmmm! Das Restaurant ist etwas versteckt in einer „Passage“. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, höflich und zurückhaltend. Es war nicht sehr viel los. Ich hoffe, dass dieses Restaurant noch lange bestehen bleibt. Die indische Küche ist für mich die spannendste, da die Gewürze, die hier verwendet werden unfassbar lecker sind.

I ordered delivery there via Uber Eats. Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious! A mixture of very good and diverse spices and a nice basic spiciness. And the naan (Indian bread) and the chicken soup were also very tasty. Since there are still one or two Indian restaurants in Dorrmund where the food is better and cheaper, I "only" give it 4 stars.

Four of us had Indian food for the first time. The restaurant is conveniently located in Hörde, just a few steps from the parking lot at the collegiate church. We didn't have a reservation (Tuesday evening) but there were still enough tables available. Before we looked at the menu, we had a few questions about Indian cuisine itself, about the dishes, methods of preparation, etc., which were explained to us in detail and patiently by the nice waiter. When ordering, we were informed about the spiciness of the various dishes, which was also good. We had 4 different dishes that were served fairly quickly. As a "greeting from the kitchen" we received a kind of flatbread with four different dips, all of which tasted very good. As a starter we had different types of bread, but the bread baked with minced meat tasted best. The food tasted very good. But you should believe the waiter when he says "it's spicy"! My complaint about my dish was that the beef (cooked) was too dry, as if it had been cooked for a long time. But everything tasted perfect. For dessert we had regular chocolate and vanilla ice cream. What has to be said clearly is that the price-performance ratio is more than good. You can hardly find a grill plate for 2 people for 28 euros anywhere else. Cleanliness in the restaurant OK I can't judge toilets. It was a nice evening, the Indian music played at a pleasant volume in the background and the noise level in the restaurant was also acceptable. Just a note for the waiter: if necessary, ask what drink you want. Many guests are so busy with the menu that they want to quench their thirst. Otherwise everything is good!

A very special restaurant as it is in a former café. You can still see these influences. This makes it less “crammed” with decoration. The mirrors make it appear open and bright. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. You can choose between different levels of spiciness and “spicy” is also edible for Germans. Everything well seasoned, fresh, filling. And there is a large selection of dishes with different meat and vegetable dishes, the dips at the beginning are included and also recommended.

A "small" but fine restaurant in a side street of the pedestrian zone; we almost ran past it. You can expect a restaurant that is not too crowded and has a somewhat outdated interior. The service was very accommodating and polite, which I found very good since it was my first time eating Indian food. I was asked whether I preferred it spicy or medium and that was a good thing. We had booked a table for Saturday at 6 p.m. and that was necessary because it was slowly filling up and people had to leave without a reservation. I can only recommend the food and we will definitely go to Royal Tandoori again!

Beim Hereinkommen konnten wir schon herrlichen Geruch nach Räucherstäbchen wahrnehmen. Wir waren wochentags mittags dort - die einzigen Gäste. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt - eine Empfehlung auf jeden Fall.

Wir haben das Restaurant gesucht und es ist nicht auf den ersten Blick gefunden. ABER... es lohnte sich! Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und die Freundlichkeit war nicht "aufgesetzt". Wir haben uns eine vegetarische Vor- und Hauptspeise bestellt. Die Schärfe konnte vorher bestimmt werden und war für uns dann perfekt. :-) Wenn die Beilagen nicht reichen, wird aufgefüllt. Aber es war mehr als genug und super lecker! Nachspeise schmeckte hervorragend und war ein "Gruß aus der Küche"! Preis/Leistung = TOP Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen!

Am letzten Sonntag hatten wir in diesem Restaurant ein Treffen mit rund 50 Personen organisiert und es war ein voller Erfolg, dank des freundlichen Personals (insbesondere Herrn Raja), des guten Essens und des tollen Ambientes.

We had organised a get-together for around 50 People in this Restaurant on last Sunday and it was very succesful. The staff were very nice and co-operative (esp. Mr. Raja), food was nicely prepared and served.

Die Bedienung ist zwar gut, aber das essen ist leider nicht gut. Das Fleisch war trocken, der Reis sehr nässrig. Leider hatten wir es viel besser erwarten. Ist natürlich Geschmacksache, aber wir können es nicht weiterempfehlen

The waiter was very down to earth and his service was good, except that the dishes recommended by him especially "Paneer Tikka Masala" was not good at all. We could taste raw onions in the tadka gravy. Naan was not authentic Indian Naan. Overall, i can say it was not authentic Indian taste, at least for vegetarian dishes.

Food: 3.5/5 It's ok ok. I tried the Shahi l Panner and chicken Tikka masala. Both were medium to good taste. Naan / Garlic Naan could be more softer and thinner. North Indian taste was not obtained but definitely not a bad one. Can try once.

Ich bin spät in das Royal Tandoori Restaurant gekommen und konnte noch Speisen. Das Ambiente ist wirklich authentisch indisch, sowie man es in Deutschland nur selten findet. Das Essen war einfach Topppp. Der Kellner namens Raza war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. So konnte ich ein tolles Gespräch mit dem leckeren Essen genießen. Ich komme auf jedenfall wieder! 🙌🙌

This is my first Indian restaurant in Dortmund. Staff is super friendly, and food is also testy. Also, they cook food specially for me as I requested.

Heute war ich mit meiner Frau das erste Mal indisch essen, ich war überrascht, denn alles war sehr schmackhaft, sehr gut gewürzt, sehr schön serviert freundliche Bedienung. Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt und meiner Frau auch. Einen Einwand habe ich jedoch, denn das hier echte Shrimp Tikka mit Surimi Garnelen vertauscht ist nicht so doll…War aber auch lecker. Wir können das Indische Essen in diesem Restaurant zu 100 % empfehlen. Leider war es so lecker, dass ich ganz vergaß Fotos zu machen

Heute sind wir spontan in das Royal Tandoori gegangen. Leider habe ich von dem Essen keine Bilder gemacht. Die Bedienung war sehr sehr freundlich. Wir haben als Vorspeise verschiedene Dips mit Brot bekommen. Alle sehr lecker. Auch unser Hauptgericht hat einfach nur richtig gut geschmeckt. Da wir den ganzen Reis aufgegessen haben, wurde uns noch ein Teller Reis gebracht. Ich habe selten in einem Restaurant, so eine zuvorkommend, freundliche Bedienung erlebt. Fazit: Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung klasse. Dort werden sie mich jetzt regelmäßig als Gast haben.

Wir können sagen, dass das Restaurant sehr sauber und ordentlich ist. Wir waren vom Essen und vom Geschmack begeistert. Super Essen. Das Gemüse und Fleisch war war gut gebraten und auch so hat alles gestimmt. Die Preise sind auch total in Ordnung. Gerne wieder. Es war uns eine Freunde. Geht mal hin. Von außen sieht es sehr blöd aus, was aber der Umgebung bestimmt ist, wo das Restaurant liegt. Man hat Platz dort und kann sich wohlfühlen bei toller Musik. Klasse. Vielen Dank :)

Wir waren heute dort essen. Gegen 17 Uhr war es noch sehr ruhig. Das Ambiente war typisch indisch. Also völlig ok, wir waren ja auch bei einem Inder. Der junge Mann im Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Essen war lecker und reichlich. Preis/ Leistung top. Was will man mehr?

Ein sehr schönes indisches Restaurant mit einer wunderbaren authentischen Ambiente und sehr zuvorkommendem Service. Es gibt sowohl scharfe als auch nicht scharfe Gerichte, die unglaublich gut schmecken. Chicken Tikka Korma war das beste indische Essen, das ich bis jetzt gegessen habe. Wenn ich wieder in Dortmund bin, komme ich sehr gerne wieder.

Der Service war teilweise sehr bedächtig aber sehr freundlich. Der Grillteller war sehr lecker und schon sehr würzig/ scharf. Für Leute, die scharf essen sehr gut. Ein Hinweis, für Leute die nicht scharf essen, wäre hilfreich gewesen. Tolles Aroma und absolut sehr lecker.
