Rosengarten in Kehl

We got two double rooms at short notice and were thrilled. Strasbourg for the World Cup is just a stone's throw away... by tram. We'll be back – no doubt about it!

We booked this place for a few nights. It's conveniently located near Strasbourg and easy to get around on foot. Our room was spacious and well-maintained. The breakfast was good and had everything you need. Dinner in the restaurant (except on Tuesday evenings due to a quiet day) was excellent. Greek tapas. Even if you don't have a room, this restaurant is highly recommended. The price and quality are excellent. The service is good and very friendly.

It was a really pleasant hotel, the rooms were functional and clean, they offered complimentary coffee, it was within walking distance of the tram station, and it was in a very nice location surrounded by greenery.

A very charming little hotel in Kehl's old town with excellent service. Where else these days are you greeted personally with a handshake by such a friendly and attentive owner? The rooms are comfortably and functionally furnished and very clean. I would gladly stay here again!

Last week, we spontaneously called the "Rosengarten" hotel in Kehl to inquire about a double room and found one. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the incredibly charming owner, who was happy to assist us with anything we needed over the next three days. The hotel's atmosphere is truly inviting; we felt very comfortable. The hotel is also very centrally located, and the tram stop for Strasbourg is just a short walk away.

I originally wanted to give it four stars, as the location and breakfast were good. However, the mattress was old and uncomfortable; you could clearly feel the springs, which is a crucial point. On the last day, there was no breakfast, even though it had been arranged. The owner insisted on not refunding the €12. It's rather ridiculous to argue with a guest over such a small amount.

Centrally located hotel, which we used to explore Strasbourg. The D tram to Strasbourg stops just a few minutes' walk from the town hall. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was good, with a window. Breakfast included everything you could need, including rolls, cereal, juice, and eggs.

Very nice hotel in a quiet environment, family-run. In the evenings, you can enjoy the daughter's creative experiments or the entertaining boss.

Spend one night for business reasons. The location in a slow traffic zone is central and quiet. A small park across the street gives a small breather after long meetings - and at warmer temperatures, one can sit outside comfortably. The center and s-bahn station are 5-10 minutes walking distance. The restaurant is cozy, the food tasty. The service for both hotel and restaurant is excellent: I felt welcome immediately. The room is modern and very clean. The lighting is excellent in both main room and bath. The mattress was firm and I woke rested. Of note is that the building has no alternative to stairs, the entry to the bath and shower are narrow. The pillow was very soft for a side sleeper (but I could compensate with towels). The overall experience was: Wonderful. If I come to the region again, I'd check the Hotel Rosengarten for availability, first.

A special kind of host who loves his job.

A lovely, quiet hotel with a good breakfast, very friendly staff, and fantastic Greek (and other) food. It's a Bed & Bike Hotel with good bike storage and laundry facilities. The single room was small, but comfortable and adequate. Dimitri is a truly excellent Greek chef. That's not surprising after running a Greek restaurant for 30 years. Excellent moussaka, tzatziki, Greek salad, superb spicy shrimp in oil, beautifully prepared lamb fillet with fries, and a wonderful mirabelle tiramisu for dessert. I rented a NextBike e-bike at Kehl train station to cycle to Strasbourg. Convenient and easy to do.

I highly recommend this place as a bar, restaurant, and hotel. Everything is very straightforward, the service is exceptionally wonderful, and the room is functional and pleasant for me as a cycling guest. The ambiance, directly adjacent to the park with its own small garden terrace in a traffic-calmed zone, has a special charm on balmy summer evenings, with well-chosen music at a discreet volume providing a pleasant ambiance. The lockable bike shed with easy e-bike charging was another plus.

We stayed overnight at this hotel with two children. The owner is very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the hotel!

Small, cozy hotel, centrally located with short distances to the town center, many restaurants and the tram departure stop for Strasbourg. Delicious breakfast and a helpful hotel manager who can help you with any questions. Parking spaces are available free of charge at the hotel.

Friendly boutique hotel. Good location, quiet, clean

The host was incredibly friendly and helpful. He took care of everything and had great tips. His manner made us feel like we were among very good friends! The room was of a normal standard, which was sufficient for us, but the mattresses were a bit too soft for us. The breakfast was great, with fresh rolls.

Once a Greek restaurant, now a hotel

A beautiful, small, beautifully furnished hotel with plenty of ambiance and charm. Centrally located yet quietly by the rose garden. The owner is very accommodating and funny. The tarte flambée is delicious, and you can sit outside in the evenings or enjoy the beautifully decorated bar/restaurant. The rooms are very nice and clean. We would definitely come back.

Hotel with charm. The hotel is located in a really nice area with many cafes. The hotel has a cozy bar/cafe underneath and the staff are friendly and smiling. The room has two single beds and they are fantastic. The pillows, however, are another matter. The bathroom has a bathtub (so be careful) but with nice hot water. The breakfast was nothing special, but sitting in the cozy surroundings at the same time adds something to the experience. Free parking in the yard. A really good and positive experience.

The hotel is really really nice. The landlord is really nice and accommodating. The location is mega. 5 minutes walk into town and 5 minutes to the train station. The rose garden is directly opposite and the bar is nice and rustic. The cocktails and tarte flambées are really delicious.

Old, very poorly renovated rooms (messed over) cables of the bedside lamp hanging almost bare from the socket. Switch of the bedside lamp and bathroom light extremely greasy.

Nice little hotel in the beautiful rose garden, centrally located, but still quiet room, nice owner, nice ambience in and in front of the restaurant. Breakfast was okay, the coffee service was great. In the evening there was delicious tarte flambée. We felt good!

Gemütliches Lokal und draußen sitzen bei schönem Wetter. Man fühlt sich wohl bei einem Amer....

Das erste und letzte mal in diesem Lokal. Nennt sich jetzt El Greco und bietet lt. Text „frische und authentische Küche aus Griechenland“ an. Nichts davon stimmt. Große Karte und keine Gäste sorgen dafür, dass nichts frisch vorhanden ist und auch nicht in erträglicher Zeit zubereitet werden kann. Etwa Lammhaxe oder gefrorene Dorade, Serviert wurde trockenes, altes „Fleisch“ vom Drehgrill, Reis mit einigen Erbsen und Bohnen, TK- Fritten. Die Bemerkung, das sei eigentlich ungenießbar, wurde weggesteckt, dafür 14 € berechnet. Saganaki, Fetakäse paniert, war schlicht, aber wenigstens essbar, Ingesamt nicht zu empfehlen.

Habe schön auf der Terrasse unter dem Sonnenschirm gesessen. Das Essen war sehr lecker aber die Bedienung war echt grottenlangsam-vielleicht lags an der Hitze. Also etwas mehr Speed bitte, dann ist es top

Super höfliches und sehr sehr freundliches Personal! Das Essen schmeckte sehr gut, war üppig und das Fleisch hatte eine super Qualität! Völlig unverständlich, dass nicht viel los war,...besser für uns, wir hatten viel Platz in dem sehr gemütlich eingerichteten Restaurant.

Le El Greco a réouvert depuis septembre avec un nouveau cuisinier d'origine grecque. Tous les plats sont faits maison, et de très bons rapports qualité prix. La vraie cuisine traditionnelle, les plats sont goûteux et originaux. Le choix des entrées à petits prix offre la possibilité d'en prendre plusieurs pour goûter. Nous nous sommes régalés, bien mieux que l'autre restaurant Grec du centre ville, qui malheureusement est victime de son succès et a perdu en qualité. Nous sommes ravis d'avoir trouvé chez El Gréco le bon goût de la cuisine grecque. Pensez à garder une petite place pour le dessert....

Von bikeline emphohel haben wir uns als Rheinradler im Rosengarten eingemietet und jedes Kilo, was wir uns abgestrampelt haben, wieder reingefuttert. Von außen vermutet man nicht, was einen innen für geschmackliche Köstlichkeiten erwarten mit bestem Olivenöl zubereitete Salate, köstliche Soßen, frisches Gemüse und richtig gutes Fleisch und Fisch und vor allem eine Bewirtung in jedweder Sprache, die einfach guteLaune macht und das für sehr moderate Preise.
