Feedback on the restaurant visit The design and interior of the restaurant are truly impressive – modern, creative, and designed with great attention to detail. The restaurant also impressed me with its culinary offerings: The food was very good, the portions generous – one burger is perfectly adequate, while fries would almost be too much. I would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly and attentive service. Overall, I had a very positive impression. However, there are two negative points that caught my attention and that I would like to openly address: First, I find the selection of pictures on the restroom doors problematic – especially in the men's restroom, there are also accessories that should ideally be accessible in an adults-only area. Considering that children also enter this area, I would strongly recommend a revision or a more sensitive approach to the design. Secondly, a note to the owners regarding the menu: Some dishes have the word "hell" (bright) in their names. I encourage you to ask an AI the question: what does the Bible say about "hell" (i.e., hell) and whether it's a term you really want to use with positive connotations in the restaurant industry. In a hundred years, people will look back with astonishment at what was so naturally on the menu back then. Because: Hell is a real place.

The burgers are delicious, but a bit overpriced, as you unfortunately have to order everything separately. You don't even get mayonnaise/ketchup unless you specifically request it. This also costs extra and isn't included with the fries. At least a dip/sauce could be included with the fries you order. Unfortunately, the background noise is very loud, so you can barely hear yourself, which makes it very difficult when you're sitting with a large group.

We were there with 20 people on Saturday lunchtime – everything was served quickly and everyone enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had the Elvis-themed room at the motel. It was beautifully decorated, quiet, and comfortable! Free parking and a great breakfast. We didn't lack for anything!

This was my first time in Mettmann for business. I've been to Essen a few times before and it was always nice, but Mettmann is on a whole different level. The food was truly excellent, the decor was quaint, and the service was very friendly! I'd love to come back with my business client and try out the hotel sometime.

The themed rooms are very authentic and designed with great attention to detail. Absolutely top-notch. We stayed in the "prison" room. Considering the price of over 100 euros including breakfast, the comfort, despite the authenticity, leaves a lot to be desired. The room is very small. The toilet and sink are very far apart. The sink and countertop are very small for two people. There's hardly any storage space in the room. The biggest negative point was that the rather loud extractor fan started up whenever you needed a light at the sink. It was really loud and was practically right next to the bed. Friends' rooms in the same room category were significantly more comfortable.

The food itself is okay, although the menu has also deteriorated considerably. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Very young, inexperienced men who lack vision and overview. At times, they act very insecurely. Unfortunately, this is the third time we've had this experience.

Road Stop Restaurant - Spare ribs look great, but very dry and the portions are way too small. There wasn't really much meat on them. The New York burger wasn't juicy either. We were there at 5:30 PM on a Saturday. It was very empty. The food arrived after 10!!! minutes. I think the spare ribs were in the oven to keep warm? The service was very friendly and acknowledged my complaint with regret. One spare rib, one New York burger, two drinks, and a coleslaw for €47.50 is borderline.

Today, we met with five guests at the Road Stop in Mettmann for dinner. We were served promptly. The drinks and food were fine. We had only burgers, each a different kind with a variety of sides, and everyone was satisfied. We sat outside on cushioned benches at wooden tables. A convivial gathering – a lovely evening.

A big compliment to the courteous, attentive, and friendly staff. The food is great, especially the salads and burgers are highly recommended. Dessert with brownies is super delicious. We'll be back.

I was only there for dinner and can't comment on the rooms. The ambiance was very good, and the staff was very friendly. I also found the prices very fair. Unfortunately, the "regular" burgers our group had were all quite dry and unusually firm. The smash burgers, on the other hand, were super juicy. The fries could have used a bit more salt.

Restaurant review: The food was okay (nothing more), but 2 stars for that. The service—and that's what makes or breaks a restaurant—was disastrous! Dozens of servers were regularly standing around, doing nothing, while we sat at our table with empty glasses. We had previously waited 15 minutes to be served at all. Even though it wasn't busy, the food for four people took over an hour. We won't be back!

Only the restaurant is being reviewed here – not the hotel complex. Definitely a nice American-style ambiance; spacious; located with a good view and plenty of room on the outdoor terrace. The food is good, but has declined somewhat in quality over the years (e.g., frozen patties instead of freshly made fries), but at higher prices. So-called side orders (fries wedges, etc.) can only be ordered in combination with a main course, and even then, over €5 for a portion of fries is definitely too much. The Sunday breakfast (€25 per person) is disappointing. The pancakes are more like egg pancakes, and the bacon is flaky and dry. For that price, I really wouldn't go back, unless you're including a hotel stay. Overall, it's a shame that the quality hasn't been as good as it was when it first opened.

We were in the restaurant, not the motel. At Roadstop, you can easily wait an hour or more for your food, but when it arrives, it's very good. High-quality and delicious. If you order a warm dessert afterward, you'll wait another 20 minutes while the others at the table have long since finished their milkshakes. 😆 If you don't mind waiting, I definitely recommend it. However, don't come here with a rumbling stomach. 😅

Sunday breakfast is fantastic. During the week, a reservation gets canceled the day before, but it doesn't matter; we have a private party tomorrow. I had made a reservation 10 days ago.

I highly recommend the Road Stop Mettmann. If you're looking for something a little different from the usual, this is the place for you. Each room has its own charm and is uniquely designed. The food was excellent—I enjoyed every meal. I also felt very well looked after at all times. A place you absolutely must visit 👍🏻😃

The service was okay. Ordering and receiving food took (for me) a bit longer than average (30-40 minutes). The quality was mediocre. It was tasty but nothing exceptional. The side dishes were a bit too cold. Overall, a bit too expensive for what was offered.

The breakfast buffet staff member was unfortunately extremely unfriendly and visibly annoyed by everything. The yogurt cups were expired, and anything that was gone wasn't refilled (e.g., scrambled eggs, rolls, etc.). You're not allowed to sit on the wooden benches downstairs because they've been freshly painted? The benches were unchanged from a month ago: dry and unpainted. They could have simply said that the staff didn't want to walk that far. We had children with us and wanted to keep an eye on them in the playground, which wasn't possible. Unfortunately, I can't recommend breakfast at all.

I visited here for the first time today. I was looking forward to a Sloppy Joe. I entered the restaurant and approached the first waitress I saw. She told me to just pick a free table. No sooner said than done, and that was that. A complete no-go in the restaurant industry; I simply wasn't served. After 20 minutes, without even being asked if I wanted a drink, I left the Road Stop. When I stood up, the waitress in question was busy at the table next to me. Brief eye contact, I thought, well, maybe she'll notice something... no reaction. That's not how you treat customers...

We were here for a family celebration and had a nice, private area in the restaurant. The food was good; I especially liked the large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food. To make up for it, we got fries – which was nice :) The service was very friendly and helpful.

Food recommended, large selection of drinks

The first (and last) time was this morning at the breakfast buffet in Mettmann. I've had breakfast at many places, but never before have I had such undrinkable coffee (filter and fully automatic). I could only manage a few sips. It tasted more like it had been brewed with dishwater than water. Even the hot chocolate was like that. Unfortunately, the food was anything but a highlight. We're going home now to have a decent coffee. Absolutely unjustified for the price!

It's actually very nice there. But you sometimes have to wait over an hour for the food. The burgers were better last year, both in terms of taste and toppings. This has gone down a bit. The waiters were quite friendly, great, and very friendly when it came to paying. The waiters, well, they only cleared our table after we asked them to, as they were still there from the guests before. After 10 minutes, we politely asked if they could clear it away. After another 10 minutes, it was done. And it wasn't that busy. As I said, it's gone down a bit compared to last year, which is a shame.

Yes, plenty of parking, interesting ambience

I was only there for brunch and didn't see the rooms. I had the impression that the buffet's quantity was tailored to the reservations. It's great to sit outside and due to the good weather there were probably more guests than planned.

Delicious food in American style and American ambience makes a visit to a restaurant of a different kind interesting. The staff is always very friendly and fulfills almost every wish. In the adjacent motel you can stay in the themed room and enjoy the American breakfast in the morning. In summer the children can play outside and various events round off the offer. There are enough parking spaces and it always makes sense to reserve a table so that you can enjoy the food during a limited visit.

Very tasty steak. All good there. BUT: When paying by card, the waitress points out that you should tip as a percentage. And then only having 7% or 10% or 15% to choose from is audacious. For a bill over €200, that's a MINIMUM tip of €14 or €20 or €30. You can also overdo it. Next time I'll pay cash. Also introduces 5% and 3%. Then it's ok. Not like that.

Arrived at 1230, got the menu myself at 1 p.m. because no one was coming, the waiter came at 1:15 p.m., ordered food. At 2:40 p.m. there was no food and nobody came to ask again about drinks. Never again, really bad

I can actually only thank the staff. Thanks to the ignorance that we experienced in the store for 20 minutes (many staff members stood around, passed us, looked at us and then immediately looked away, all at 5:30 p.m. in an empty store), we ended up stranded in a great restaurant "Dalmatino". We were incredibly lucky there and got the last available spot. The Dalmatino is only recommended!! :-)

From favorite store to major disappointment – ​​customer service? None at all. I was a real fan of RoadStop for years – especially because of the great atmosphere and the really good food. The burgers? Top-notch! The sauces? Sometimes so good that we preferred to take them home – which was even possible thanks to the "Sauce To Go" offer. Until recently. What happened next is unfortunately a prime example of poor service and even worse communication: In two different branches, I was given completely different answers about which sauces I could buy to-go. Sometimes it was possible, sometimes I was given a surprised look as if I'd asked something absurd. Things got even worse when I tried to politely email the manufacturer of a sauce so I could enjoy it privately – no secret, no recipe, just the supplier. Instead of a friendly response, I got... nothing. For weeks. Only after repeated inquiries did a rude email arrive from headquarters stating that they "won't be pressured" and "generally don't disclose their recipes." As if I'd threatened to steal a patent—but it was just a matter of showing a little customer service. I would have liked to have simply been treated with respect as a long-time customer. Instead, I feel ignored, not taken seriously, and almost lectured. And all because of a few sauces you yourself once sold. Bottom line: Delicious food alone isn't enough—when service and customer communication are so disappointing, you lose even your most loyal fans. Unfortunately, that was my last visit to RoadStop.

This was my third time here and I'm still very impressed! Be it burgers, wraps, side dishes, house soda or dessert - so far everything has tasted really good. 🤗 There is a generous selection of food and drink for both omnivores and plant eaters! The location itself is nice and big, thematically appealing and suitable for large and small groups or duos. The service checks in regularly and is reliable and friendly. ☺️ There are also more than enough parking spaces.

We ate there for the first time today because we were disappointed with the road stop food. We ordered our food and drinks, after 20 minutes we still had no drinks. The waitress came to us and asked if we hadn't gotten any drinks yet, to which we replied "no, not yet." She went straight away and brought us the drinks and apologized profusely for the long wait. We got the food after 30 minutes, we will always go there! Parking is a dream, as is the friendly service and ambience.

American restaurant with delicious dishes and a typical American atmosphere. There is a large selection of burgers and loaded fries. You can also sit outside when the weather is nice. The Caesars Salad is delicious. The prices are not a bargain but okay. During our visit, a shake appeared on the bill that we hadn't consumed, but it was then removed from the bill without any discussion. The service was friendly and the food was brought to us relatively quickly. There is also a large bar. There are also 2 great pinball machines in the front area. In the photos you can see the loaded fries and the Caesar salad.

Today I was with my husband. Road Stop is a nice restaurant but the food took a long time. My New York hamburger 🍔 wasn't good the tomatoes 🍅 🍅 didn't taste good and we ordered sweet potato fries 🍟 but very dark and lukewarm that's a disaster 😫☹️

Rooms are decorated cool depending on the theme. They are clean and you have everything you need. We think it's great value for money. We have also eaten there several times. Cool American atmosphere. Even if it's full you can still have a normal conversation. The food and drinks are very tasty, the portions are more than sufficient and everyone can find something for themselves when it comes to drinks. We come back regularly 👍🏻

I now remember why I haven't been here for three years. The service was questionable - after we politely commented that the beer was stale, there was no replacement or a word of apology. The burger buns and the meat were badly burnt, unfortunately the taste was not enjoyable. The onion rings and curly fries, which were ordered separately, were also average at best. The prices are clearly too high for the level offered - it just doesn't add up. It's a shame, we expected more.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the smash burgers! I've been searching for good burgers for years, and I'd also eaten here before, so they definitely changed the recipe or did something, because the burger is incredibly delicious! The bun is as spongy as it should be, the meat, well, everything! The best burger I've had in all of Germany. If you're familiar with US burgers, then I definitely recommend this one! 11/10

This restaurant is a no go. My wife has finished eating. My food is probably still overseas. Go get something to drink in the car now or I'll die of thirst. Next time I'll drive 100 m further to Mac Donald.

The food is OK. Unfortunately my burger was swapped. But that can happen sometimes. Unfortunately the service is an absolute disaster. You wait almost an hour for food. Empty glasses are ignored. No matter how many there are.

If you like American style, this is the place for you, the food was a bit too greasy for us.

Today we ate there again after a long time. We used to visit this restaurant often and were one of the first guests after the lockdown during the pandemic. Back then the quality had suffered significantly and we weren't there for a long time. Today, as I said, tested it again and I have to ask the question... Do you notice anything else in terms of price? Two mini burgers (comparable to an 0-8-15 hamburger in a Fritzenbude), a fries and a shandy and a Coke for almost 45 euros. Unbelievable.

At Roadstop in Mettmann you can sit outside and eat well in a very nice location with a great view. Unfortunately, because there are so many families, it is always very loud and there are a lot of screaming children. At lunchtime and in the afternoon the food comes very quickly. In the evenings there are usually slightly longer waiting times. The burgers taste ok, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the cheese sauce for the Vulcano Burger was already cold and rather thick. In my opinion the prices are clearly set too high. Here you pay over €70 for a burger with a side dish and a sauce and a drink each. This is really intense. Menus should be introduced, otherwise it would be too expensive for what you get. The side orders fries etc. are tasty but far too expensive for side dishes. The sauces are also priced individually. Nevertheless, the waitresses are always very nice and accommodating.

Super tasty burgers and drinks. Whether it's your own beer or homemade lemonade... there's something for every taste. Great ambience. This is how you imagine a real American diner. We are there regularly and happily.

When you go to an American restaurant, you also want dishes and portions that are typical of the country. This is absolutely not the case here. There are actually only burgers here. There are also ribs and steaks. The burger for 16.95 EUR was small and extremely sparsely topped. The McBacon from McDonalds is larger and juicier and costs EUR 5.95. Fries and salad cost extra. US cuisine is more than just burgers. Pasta, seafood, chicken, etc. are missing here. There is also no US beer in this restaurant. Bud Light, Michelob or Samuel Adams would fit. Conclusion - You can eat a totally overpriced burger here that tastes average, but it really has nothing to do with US food.

Waited well over an hour for food, then only fries came, the burgers after another 5 minutes and the rest of the food only after another 10 minutes. So they couldn't eat together. Doesn't work for us at all. If the waitresses hadn't been so nice, we would have left the restaurant without eating.

You can drive there. Food tastes good. But nothing special either. Waiting 1 hour 45 minutes for food for 5 people is quite sporty. Even if it was a Saturday evening. Staff friendly but unfortunately not particularly attentive. We would definitely have ordered more to drink.

Nice motel with different themed rooms! Clean and tidy. We had the basketball room. The prices are also right for breakfast.

Very nice welcoming shop. But unfortunately you wait forever for your food. Had a table at 8:30pm and the food arrived at 9:56pm. In the meantime, I politely asked a waiter when the food would come. He had complete disinterest and just left again. Another waitress took better care of us and asked in the kitchen and, as an apology, took the drinks off our bill. Food was ok. Very good side dishes. Very good burger buns but unfortunately the smashed burger wasn't smashed.

I often go there for breakfast with friends on Saturdays. The price of just under €13 for the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, including coffee, tea, juice, and spritzer, is unbeatable. There's bread (with a handy holder for cutting), toast, various rolls, croissants, etc., a wide selection of cold cuts and cheeses, including vegetarian options, antipasti, meat salad, muesli, jams, Nutella, and, above all, scrambled eggs and bacon. So, you can't complain. Upon request, they even provided separately packaged gluten-free rolls 🤗 Such nice, friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!!!

We went to the Road Stop restaurant in Mettmann today and were thrilled! Great ambience, super nice and fast service and excellent food! I had the mixed plate with spare ribs and wings, both super tasty and tender and above all, the ribs are not soaked in BBQ sauce (I don't like BBQ sauce) but you can decide for yourself whether and which sauce you want with it. Here I can finally enjoy ribs!! My husband had the Oklahoma Smash Burger and absolutely loved it too! The Homemade Ice Tea Peach is also highly recommended, as is the chocolate milkshake. All in all, an absolutely successful concept, we will definitely be back!! ❤️

Phew, mixed feelings. Atmosphere is good, if not American. American deco doesn't make it American. But good. Food was basically ok, although my burger wasn't hot. The service, however, was not good. Only untrained staff, not very motivated. If you want it to be American, service is king! There was somehow a lack of someone who had something to say.

I have never experienced such poor service in my life. The starter (onion rings) came with the main course. Fries came without a burger. My fries without the mayonnaise I ordered extra. A friend's main course came half an hour after the sides and my main course didn't come at all. Catastrophic

Nova, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She even fished a bottle cap out of the “bucket” for us at our request. (Because we collect these) That's what I call full commitment to satisfied customers :) 👍🏻
