The food is good, the drinks and the atmosphere are great! But we had to wait 80 minutes for our food (three burgers with fries)! Also, the waitress was just a temporary worker and not particularly nice. Food great, service (speed) flop.

From August 26th, 2024 to August 27th, 2024 we were at the Road Stop Mettmann. 1. Motel/Hotel: We stayed in the themed room (Classic) “Beer Bar”. The room is clean and decorated according to the theme. The toilet was in a separate room. The shower and sink were in the main room of the hotel room. Overall, the room was quite small, which is why two people couldn't get through everywhere. Our hotel room had a small balcony with a view of the Road Stop restaurant. There were parking spaces directly in front of the hotel building where you can park for free. Registration for the hotel rooms is in the restaurant. 2. The Road Stop Restaurant Since there was little going on at Road Stop on August 26th, 2024, you could also choose a table by reservation. The restaurant itself is well-equipped to suit the theme. The staff was super friendly and always helpful. To eat we had a burger, garlic bread, fries, ribs and chicken wings. For dessert we decided on small cakes. The entire meal was very tasty and I would recommend it to anyone. We finally had breakfast on August 27th, 2024. Given that it was a small breakfast, everyone was able to find something they liked and nothing was left to be desired. Conclusion: Overall, I would recommend Road Stop regardless of whether you want to eat or stay overnight.

Burgers are very tasty but absolutely overpriced for their size. Side dishes even cost extra... Unfortunately, you can't order the side dishes individually without the main course, which is why it's only worth going if you want to eat properly. My daughter would also have liked to have just had fries. Of course she wasn't allowed either. Vanilla milkshake only tastes like cream and for €6 it tastes too much for just milk and cream. The garlic baguette is just horrible. It's just a cheap sauce slapped on a baguette that's too hard. Very nice options for children such as the playground or the opportunity to paint. Staff is completely overwhelmed. Since it's full even during the week, it takes forever before you can even order. Not to mention waiting for the food. This is really a disaster. If you're thirsty in the summer, you don't have to expect to get something quickly.

Visually appealing restaurant. Very nice service. Unfortunately the food was below average. And too expensive for that. But people praise improvement because there have already been more complaints about it. Chicken wing very small and shattered bones in the meat. Make the dessert tasty with canned spray cream from the discount store.

Breakfast buffet was similar to other providers. The offering was good, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly... The service is managed by a very friendly employee. However, she has to do everything like reception, pancakes and omelets, taking orders, instructing the cashier and young employees, etc. A mammoth task in which she always remains friendly and courteous. My respect for the employee, but a minus for the organization of the restaurant.

Second time for breakfast there. Small, manageable buffet, but with everything I need for a 'normal' breakfast. To mention: coffee included. So if you don't need a 10m buffet, you're welcome to take a look here.

Unfortunately the road stop was very slow! The burgers were very small and hardly any sauce on them. We also waited over 45 minutes for it. The Burgerie Manufaktur in the center is much better in terms of food. I also found it unfriendly that cutlery was loudly being sorted on the table right next to us.

Quite OK, the Hawaii room seemed a little dated, the bed was comfortable but creaked when you moved. It would be important to mention the lack of air conditioning, we couldn't sleep in the temperatures. But because we like the idea overall, we'll try it again at some point with the Presidential Suite

We were there on Sunday evening, I can't complain about the service staff, the waiting time was fine for me too. What I unfortunately noticed very negatively and is unfortunately a reason for me not to visit again is that I ordered my burger without onions. Unfortunately it came with onions and was therefore returned. After about 5 minutes the “new” burger arrived. Unfortunately, only the onions were scraped off and there were even leftovers on the burger lid. Unfortunately for me a very poor performance from the kitchen. The second time we went back, only the lid of the burger was replaced. If you don't eat and like onions, you'll notice that there were onions on the burger. But then we were too stupid to continue discussing it. The fries then became cold as a result. Unfortunately my food was poor, my partner's was good.

We ate here again three days ago after a very long time. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for the food because it was so full. I think if a shop can accommodate such a volume of guests, then it has to ensure that it can still serve at a reasonable time. Regarding the service itself, I can say that the waitresses were very nice and attentive. Only the “receptionist” was annoyed when people came who hadn’t made a reservation. I see walk-in customers as important, but oh well. Now about the food. I also like to eat meat but also vegetarian food, so I think it's good that there's a lot of both on the menu. Unfortunately I think it's a shame that very good dishes were taken out like the chicken skewers... that's what we actually went there for... I find the prices to be extremely skyrocketing in some cases. Which I can understand with meat but not really with fries. This time we only had normal fries - unfortunately they looked like they were leftovers from the deep fryer. I actually always enjoyed eating there, but I viewed the visit as a rather negative experience due to the long wait, the expensive and not so “nice” food and, above all, the fact that there was no longer what I wanted. What also really bothered me and other guests was that despite sitting indoors, we were extremely bothered by cigarette smoke. All the doors could be opened so that everyone could smoke on every corner. I don't understand why, as a non-smoker, you are forced to sit inside everywhere just so that smokers can smoke outside - especially since smokers themselves don't want people smoking while eating... you should think about a non-smoking outside area. Nowadays many people would gratefully accept it. And if you're sitting inside, the smoke should stay outside. It's complaining on a high level but unfortunately that's how it is. Unfortunately, it felt like I was in a bar inside... I hope the chicken skewers and the level comes back so that you don't have to wait hours for leftover fries. Because despite price adjustments, I would pay more for good food in a good atmosphere... The waitresses did a great job and remained friendly under stress - again, so that it didn't get lost.

Finally we went to the road stop again to eat burgers and steak. We were also able to sit outside because of the nice weather. For dinner there was steak, spare ribs and a burger. Everything was of great quality. However, we had to wait a little longer. Therefore a star deduction! There was also an excess of soda. But it was a misunderstanding. Easy to reach with more than enough parking spaces on site. Were there on Monday evening with 10 people. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. It was quite busy and the four people in service were friendly and really tried hard, but quite overwhelmed. The waiting time for the food to arrive was over an hour.

If you want to eat delicious burgers, this is the place for you. For a fair price you get a portion that really fills you up. In general, the ambience of the store is great, as are the friendly employees. No matter how many times I was there and how many different waiters served me, everyone was always very nice and professional.

The service was fast but not that friendly. The amount of drinks offered on the card is very wide. The garlic bread was hard baked bread with garlic mayonnaise on top and underneath it. Certainly not to be recommended. The ribs and chicken wings were delicious and very well baked and seasoned. The cuisson of the steak was not done correctly. The baked potato in the skin was not in the skin and rather cold. We might go back for drinks and ice cream but won’t touch the steak or baked potatoes again. The terrace doesn’t have a lot of shade in the space they opened up. There was shade but they closed off that part of the terrace for no apparent reason.

Rooms were nicely furnished but there was hardly any storage space for jackets and suitcases. Otherwise, the American atmosphere suits the rooms and the restaurant/beer garden.

I wasn't in the hotel but in the restaurant. Attractive atmosphere, very nice service but average food. Huge beer selection. At first glance, it looks like a cheap meal. The chicken wings come naked, i.e. without sauce. The ribs come naked, without sauce. These must be ordered separately, of course at an additional cost. No salad, no fries included. Everything has to be ordered separately. So the seemingly cheap meal easily costs more than twice as much. The quality of the wings was ok, but the ribs were totally dry. This is not US like. A pity.

You can sit there very nicely, inside and outside, the service was friendly and quick, the food was tasty and sufficient. The toilets were relatively clean, but there is still room for improvement. The prices are close to exorbitant.

Was only there to eat. Super food and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. If I showed in advance they had rooms, I probably would have stayed there too.

We were there for dinner with friends and were positively impressed by the type of location. The menu is originally designed and offers a wide selection of food and drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The burgers and fries were average. The goat cheese burger was exceptionally tasty. What we also didn't like for a burger restaurant was that ketchup and mayo were not available at the table but cost 95 cents extra. In general, we found the burger side dish and drink at around 30 euros to be too high a price/performance level. Since the ambience here is something special, we'll probably come back again. However, we missed the special kick when it came to eating.

The staff was always friendly and had everything well under control. Both portions of fries were a bit brownish and not golden yellow and unfortunately didn't taste good. The golden nuggets were fine. The hamburger tasted okay overall, even if the meat wasn't particularly juicy, you could also say dry. Unfortunately, the lemonade was mixed unevenly, with syrup at the bottom and water at the top. The restaurant knows how to please with its furniture and the playground for children. The basics like fries and burgers should be better.

We reserved a table for six people at a relatively early time last Sunday. The restaurant was therefore still pretty empty. Our food order (5 burgers, 2 fries, a bowl) took over an hour to arrive despite the few visitors. When we started to get restless, the waitress informed us that our food would be ready in three minutes... another 15 minutes later the food was actually there! No apology from the staff! When we asked, we were offered a coffee on the house for everyone, which of course makes little sense if there are children among the guests! In short, once and never again!

We were there for the first time yesterday. Just for food. The ambience really blew us away! Service staff very friendly and super young! Food was great too! The only drawback is the long wait for food (about 1 hour).

I had the pleasure of eating there for the first time recently and I have to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food was simply excellent. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, perfectly prepared and presented. From the starters to the dessert, everything was fresh, tasty and of the highest quality. The service also left nothing to be desired. The staff was attentive, friendly and professional. You felt well looked after and welcome at all times. The drinks menu offered an impressive selection and the recommended wines harmonized perfectly with the chosen dishes. The cocktails were also excellent and were mixed with attention to detail. The location of the restaurant is ideal. It is located in a busy yet cozy area that is easily accessible and offers a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Road Stop has definitely earned a spot on my favorites list.

Very good citizen, but waiting almost an hour is far too long

This review is about the motel! Unfortunately, I booked early and didn't receive a reduced daily price on site. We celebrated with around 80 people on site. The room was extremely small and the focus is clearly on the decoration. Cleanliness was really poor but after the first contact when checking in and that it was only for one night, I didn't say anything more about it. The restaurant is event catering and definitely worth visiting for a lunch break. I won't stay overnight anymore.

When there are few visitors, it's hard to wait more than 1 1/2 hours for your food because the ice cubes have already melted. If I come here again I don't think it's just too bad service.

The service was good, attentive and courteous. The ambience is also impressive. Everything has an American style, even if it looks intentional and not done in some places. Although, according to our own estimate, the restaurant was only half full, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for 4 dishes and that for dishes where the price/performance ratio was not right. We had 2x bowls with noodles, 1x chicken salad and 1x burger with fries. Burger was perfectly fine, but the chicken salad consisted mainly of lettuce and 3 pieces of chicken. The bowls weren't any better. Spinach was the “filling material” here and was present in half. Noodles cost +2 euros and there were only half a handful of them on top. For dessert we had the Peanut Butter Banger four times. There used to be peanut pieces from Reesers in there. Today just something hard with chocolate and caramel. The glass was also no longer full to the top and that's really steep for 8.95 euros. Food was tasty, service was good and the atmosphere was good. But as long as the waiting times are so long and nothing changes in pricing or portion sizes, you won't be seeing us again anytime soon.

Anyone who likes western style is in good hands here. Everywhere very clean and beautifully furnished with attention to detail. Our room called Beer Bar and 18 square meters is quite narrow and has no wardrobe. But sufficient and practical for the 1 night booked. Funnily enough, the shower has a glass wall to the passage between the entrance and the sleeping area. There was a socket on each side of the bed, with the one on the left being used by the bedside lamp. So if you want to charge your cell phone, you have to pull it out or, like us, have a triple socket with you. Breakfast was buffet style with warm rolls, cold cuts, cheese, jam, juices, delicious scrambled eggs and bacon,... Coffee, tea and chocolate are available self-service from a machine. I liked the coffee very tasty. The service is very friendly and helpful with the selection of food and drinks. Even though the motel is close to the road, we didn't have any annoying noises. We didn't eat dinner, so I can't contribute anything. Clear recommendation.

The portions used to feel bigger and if you stop by bike: there are no motorcycle parking spaces. And you can't sit in the line of sight of the bikes either.

Good to eat but really nothing special. A really poor overall performance considering the prices. 1 star for the nice staff, another for the great ambience.

We still got a table quickly without a reservation. The conditions were friendly and we were served quickly. We ordered two burgers, which were delivered really quickly. Unfortunately both without fries, which is not noted on the menu. The waitress didn't point this out either. Our mozzarella sticks were also served without sauce, which would have cost extra. The two of us ended up paying €50 for two burgers, one mozzarella stick and two drinks. Unfortunately, you get very small portions for the fact that all the burgers cost over €15 and they don't even come with fries. So we weren't really full. Just a few years ago you could get a small fries with the burgers without having to pay extra for them. The service is still good and you don't have to wait long, even though it was very busy.

Sehr gutes Essen. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Leider ist die Lautstärke etwas zu hoch im Innenraum und die Bar ist etwas Jim Beam lastig. Ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Tolles Konzept. Vielleicht noch etwas mexikanisches auf die Karte dann fühlt es sich wirklich wie auf der Route 66 an.

Cozy themed room, the Hunters Lodge with balcony/terrace was a delight and the huge bathtub in the room was the highlight of my short trip. The bed is comfortable, the staff is courteous and friendly. Eating in the restaurant is ok. The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's ok for one or two nights, especially because of the different themed rooms...

Wir haben sehr lange auf die Burger gewartet, ca 1 Std. Das sei normal sagte die Bedienung, weil es ein Feiertag war. Die bestellten vegetarischen Burger waren lecker. Der Nachtisch Cheesecake ist nicht empfehlenswert- gefrorene Himbeeren- Vanilleeis und trockener Kuchen zusammengequetscht in ein Behälter, aus dem man nicht gut essen kann- seeehr teuer on top - 8.95- hätte sogar ich leckerer zubereiten können.

Very cool location on the edge of Mettmann. Conceptual implementation of a roadhouse was absolutely successful. Menu super tidy and clear. Something for every taste and good value for money. The drinks came very quickly and the tasty and high-quality main course arrived at a corresponding distance WITHOUT a long wait. The interior is pleasantly large, spacious and not too crowded with tables. The result is a pleasant, open atmosphere, which is further lightened by many eye-catching decorations. We would come again.

Luckily there is the Mettmann location *-* other opening times like in Wuppertal saved the evening for me and a colleague recently xD Very DELICIOUS! :D super satisfied with the charming service from the waitress :D!

Unfortunately I can't judge the food. Unfortunately we didn't get around to it! Our family with two children arrived around 8:00 p.m. We waited in the check-in area for 5 minutes but no one really seemed interested. Then we asked at the bar and the gentleman told us that we can sit wherever we want. We did that. After ten minutes we left again because no one cared about us. We then went to a Greek restaurant where they were happy to take our money. I found the experience very very bad

If you want something to eat you definitely have to book a table in advance! ! If you come unannounced and want to eat, you will be sent away in a very unfriendly manner by the somewhat annoyed employee, with the note: I can only let you in if you have reserved, ...even though there were still a lot of tables free... It's a shame it looked very comfortable

A Mother's Day gift from my kids took us to this place for brunch today. The parking space is sufficient for the location. The restaurant looks very inviting from the outside and also meets all expectations from the inside. The dining room is very large and the tables are arranged so that you don't have to take part in the conversations of other guests. When the weather is nice, there is also a terrace that looks very inviting. The breakfast buffet was great and left nothing to be desired. Coffee, tea, cocoa and juices are available as much as you want and are included in the price, which was otherwise reasonable. The staff is very friendly and, despite the stress of the holiday, always had a smile and kind words for the guests. Unfortunately we didn't see the inside of the rooms. From the outside, the houses looked very inviting and made you want to take a short vacation. All in all, I give it a thumbs up and a clear recommendation.

We still got a table very quickly without a reservation. The waitresses tried very hard to accommodate the crowd. The food is simply of the best quality. The side dish portions are huge. Since we had to wait a long time for our food, the waiter bought us the second drink, even though we didn't even complain. There are enough seats, inside and outside, there is also a small playground for the children. We were there for breakfast, the buffet was rich, a decent selection of bread and rolls, etc. as well as sausage, cheese, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, baron, jam , Nutella, and lots of other goodies.

I wasn't a hotel guest, I just checked in to eat. I've been there many times and have always been happy with the food. Tried the breakfast buffet for the first time today. Whatever the reason, I expected a bit more choice for a road stop. What was there was very tasty and the price was absolutely right. The service is extremely friendly. There was fresh scrambled eggs with bacon. That was great 😊. Unfortunately I have to criticize the fully automatic coffee machine. It didn't look particularly hygienic and the coffee, in my case cappuccino, didn't taste that good, whether it was the milk or the beans? Who knows? But I would still like to come back.

We were with friends for dinner. An unearthly atmosphere. A bit like in the USA, but not entirely. Nice service and great food. Ribs and burgers are great!

Great good food. The family said I had salad with chicken. Since I don't enjoy eating, I ask my family. (anosmia). The atmosphere was great, friendly service. We'll come back again.
