The selection of dishes is very varied and everyone will find something to suit their taste. A robot brings the food that you can have freshly grilled. Drinks are included in the price, which is simply great. Saturday evening it was very crowded, so a bit noisy. Service is only present upon arrival and when paying, friendly. You can park in the parking garage next door.

There are strange employees who think they are smart, I was there with my five-year-old child and they asked me to pay the bill even though he hadn't eaten anything and I reminded them of the law, to which they apologized because they knew I understood the law.

We were there for the lunch buffet, overall not bad, but would have liked more variety of dishes. The food is delicious, the sushi presentation is interesting. There are many desserts, but they are all ordinary. Large selection of drinks.

The table on the left directly at the entrance is very uncomfortable, it is drafty because it is near the entrance and everyone can look at your plate. Service is friendly.

Nice evening Buffed was at the Red Sun in Mettmann today. I can only recommend it. I have been a guest in this restaurant for 10 years and always get fresh and delicious food. Thank you for the great work.

We came to this restaurant following an invitation for a birthday. It is a typical all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. The selection of food was okay, but not exceptional either. No highlights were to be expected in terms of taste. Unfortunately, a lot of things taste quite similar. The service was friendly and attentive. It will remain a one-off visit.

For the price you can't complain. The service is quick and friendly. The food and selection is good. With the drinks in the all u can eat offer now, it's twice as worth it. Even with children, who then pay proportionately less, it's a great deal; we enjoy eating there.

We were there for a birthday. Mega delicious food and the ambience was very nice. There is now a buffet including drinks.

For such a large restaurant and for a buffet, the quality was very good. I like that you can try so many different things. The service robot was super cute. I also thought the price was very fair and that drinks were included was great.

Eine einzige Katastrophe!! Das Buffet kostet 33 € pP. man hat 2,5 Std. Zeit jede weitere Std. kostet 4 € pP. Getränke Alkoholfrei inbegriffen, Bier und Wein gibt es pP. 2 Gläser frei. Der Laden war brechendvoll aber das Buffet leer, man ist mit dem Essen nicht hinterher gekommen, Es ist sehr schade der Laden war mal eine Topadresse.

Good selection, a lot on the plate, fair price. A bit much hustle and bustle, the Far Eastern children's songs of the funny serving robot could be more subtle. Good service, therefore very popular and well attended. During the first visit in 2025, there was a noticeable price increase. Combined with restrictions on the duration and size of the buffet. It remains to be seen whether this will be accepted by customers.

We were there for the first time. I think it's great that drinks are included and the selection of drinks is huge. The driving robot was a viral highlight for the children! The food tasted okay, I found the selection relatively small and unfortunately most of it was cold despite the restaurant being full.

The sushi looked very tasty, but I didn't try it. Summary: We won't come back because there are better Chinese "all you can eat" buffets in the surrounding area (Haan, Wuppertal).

Very large and lots of choice. Child-friendly with high chairs and a small play area. Price/performance All you can eat including drinks is very good and recommended. It was delicious. Gorgeous, comfortable and excellent service

Affordable all-you-can-eat option with included drinks and Mongolian buffet. The kids thought the rolling sushi was impressive and ran after the delivery robot with great joy... especially when the robot brought singing birthday wishes. A delicious and all-round wonderful experience! However, you have to park in the parking garage because the restaurant is in the city center.

Unfortunately the surcharge for New Year's Eve was quite high and it was never mentioned on the phone or indicated on the internet that it would cost €40 per person, with the justification that there would be a fireworks display for customers like us who had reserved at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m When we left the clock, we never got to see these fireworks. It's a shame that the price has to be increased so much. For the price I found the selection of fruit (dessert) very limited.

I can't understand the bad response, we were there for New Year's Day yesterday because it was very full but the food was great, the staff really tried hard, we were very happy, of course a tiny drawback that we also had to pay 40 euros for New Year's Day even though we left early because of the smallest thing our mistake, we didn't pay attention to the board on the door, our own stupidity 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 the little robot was just worth the fun…….we'll be back 👍

Food was normal for a Chinese. Staff super nice and helpful. Large, open restaurant, I personally would like it more if there were more separated tables and therefore more "privacy". But what I found particularly good was the approach that wasted food and drinks are financially penalized. Great, keep it up.

The Red Sun is an all-you-can-eat restaurant in downtown Mettmann. For €32 per person, children pay lower prices, you can plunder both the buffet and the fridges with a wide selection of drinks over two and a half hours. That's a very fair price for what's on offer! Especially because the food at the buffet is completely fine. Of course it's not an authentic approach, but Red Sun offers a wide range of Asian cuisine that's suitable for the masses and tastes European, with something for everyone. If you know that and want to, then that is the strength of this restaurant. The dishes and side dishes at the buffet are all tasty and without any outliers. We didn't find a single slip-up, but we didn't find an absolute highlight either, as everything is stable, reliable and unsurprising. But the best thing was the sweet and sour chicken, which balances the balance between crunchy chicken and pleasantly warm sauce, which creates the special munchies of this dish. The selection on the sushi line is also completely fine. The variations are versatile and completely acceptable for the range and ultimately the price. The plates are placed on the conveyor belt with freshly cut rolls as needed. One could only think again about the presentation of the wasabi offering, which of course is not wasabi but the common dissolved powder. The large bowl is not very attractive. A firmer mixture could, for example, be placed as florets on the soy sauce plates on display. The Mongolian grill, for which you can put together your own dish at the buffet from a wide range of meat, seafood and vegetables, delivers quick and reliable results. A little gimmick from the restaurant comes into play here. The finished plates are brought to the tables by a robot that plays Chinese music. That was the highlight for the accompanying child! So it's a nice gimmick that usefully supports the nice service. All in all, the Red Sun is a successful family restaurant that also offers space for larger groups and has something for pretty much everyone with its culinary offerings.

A very nice restaurant. A bit expensive after changes, but now all non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price. I think the price is justified. We always enjoy going there. Food is good and is replenished quickly when it is full. Personally, I find it a bit loud because of the sound, but since everyone speaks very loudly, I don't think it's a problem.

Everything 5 stars...the staff is extremely attentive...top service. The atmosphere is new...beautiful round tables for 6 or 8 people...tiptop!! The selection is so huge that you have to come back to test everything ;)))

Wir waren mit 10 Erwachsenen und drei Kindern am 1. Weihnachtstag dort. Wie immer war es sehr voll. Leider wird für 39 € pro Person Null Service geboten, da jetzt in dem Preis 2 Fassbiere oder Wein, welche man an der Theke durch Vorlage eines Zettels -es bedient eine Person - und einer Flat für Flächengetränke aus Selbstbedienungskühlschränken erhält. In meiner Kantine habe ich den selbigen Service nur für 4,50 €. Die Qualität hat leider auch sehr nachgelassen. Das Lamm und die Ente war zäh und schmeckte nicht frisch. Leider auch beim letzten Besuch. Der Roboter, der das Essen bringen sollte, kam bis zu unserem Tisch nicht durch, da alles mit Stühlen und Tischen vollgestellt war. Jemand der Gehbehindert ist, wird somit ausgegrenzt. Die Atmosphäre war sehr ungemütlich. Wir werden nach 5 Jahren uns nach einem neuen Lokal umsehen.

Reservation for Christmas for 7 people at 12:30 p.m. was confirmed by email, then we called shortly afterwards asking if we could come at 11:30, an hour earlier. Since it was too early for us, I declined. Our reservation was then canceled. It's a shame that you treat guests like that. Why was my reservation confirmed beforehand? You don't have to go here!!!

Not for me. I don't like this buffet style. The food was very fatty and the meat was sometimes tough. The staff is friendly. Price wise okay. Food and drinks flat rate for €33. That's totally fine if you like 'all you can eat'.

The place is quite normal for a typical Mongolian buffet Chinese place. Somehow quite proper, a bit strange, but okay. The staff is surprisingly attentive, friendly and quick for THE crowds. On Saturdays it's all you can eat until 4 p.m., but ATTENTION: for 22 EURO (!!!!), in addition to an incredibly diverse and delicious huge buffet, it also includes ALL drinks that are alcohol-free, including liter bottles, as much as you want the freshly fried section. UNBEATABLE. Definitely go back.

I haven't been there for a long time... And since it was my dwarf's birthday, I thought we'd go eat there. And it was great and super tasty. And the fact that the drinks are now part of the all you can eat menu makes it very likeable.

Es gibt Neuerungen. Der Preis für das Buffet wurde erhöht, dafür sind pro Person jeweils 2 Bier oder 2 Glas Wein enthalten (oder 1 Glas Wein und 1 Bier). Softdrinks (Wasser, Limo, Cola,..) stehen in einem Kühlschrank bereit und man kann sich nehmen so viel man will. Nachteil: Man muss sich alle Getränke selbst holen (Bier und Wein an der Theke). Der große Kühlschrank steht hell erleuchtet mitten im Raum und gibt einem ein "Autobahn-Raststätten-Feeling". Mir hat es besser gefallen, als die Getränke noch zu zahlen waren, dafür aber gebracht wurden. Man ist gefühlt nur noch unterwegs. Aber so kann Personal eingespart werden, was ja vielleicht auch nicht genügend zur Verfügung steht. Das Essen, das frisch zubereitet und zum Tisch gebracht wird, war 2mal leider nur noch lauwarm. Wir waren dieses Mal nicht überzeugt.

Quantity instead of class. Update 11/2024: Lunch buffet OK but still more tailored to mass. Now it costs €22 for lunch, but most drinks are included. For me it is a hidden further price increase. I don't need a flat rate for drinks, so I'm degrading it by one star again. I won't come back.

We've been eating the all-you-can-eat buffet here for years. The restaurant is always good for surprises: for a few years now, a service robot has been used there to bring food to the tables. Quite normal now. Now there are self-service refrigerators for drinks. It's a bit strange because it now looks like a kiosk or a chip shop. The employees are very friendly and quick. The food has been of consistently good quality for years.

It's just great, since red sun opened we've been there at least once a month, there are months when we even go there more times, the food tastes simply excellent, the service is top. I've tried several restaurants but always end up at red sun, I wouldn't try any other one. I can only recommend it to everyone ❤️

Actually quite expensive now. However, it tastes good. Although I would say they have slowed down a bit. From November we will probably switch to all you can drink and eat, but only non-alcoholic drinks. The whole thing for over 30.00.

We celebrated our son's first birthday on Saturday, made a reservation for 15 people and received a VIP room with 2 round tables. From the food to the super nice waiter who looked after us, we were all thrilled. Highly recommended for larger family celebrations and in between. The children were all thrilled with the robot, it even sang a serenade for our son 😄 thank you for making the day so nice for us and thanks again to our waiter, we were all thrilled with you 🍀❤️

Das Essen, die Auswahl, das Personal, alles wirklich top. Das Piano mit seiner nicht immer harmonischen Musik entsprach dem sonstigen Genuss leider nicht. Da mein Hörvermögen eingeschränkt ist, war das neben dem sonstigen Geräuschpegel, eine besondere Herausforderung - muss nicht sein.

We come often. Yesterday the service was terrible. The table was not cleared. Only after repeated requests and then the table was only partially cleared. The dishes were piling up. We could have eaten in the kitchen. The meat was still frozen and tough. Tough because it was probably too cold when it goes on the griddle. The prepared dishes are tasty. The staff very very friendly.

I have to honestly say that for me personally, this restaurant is the worst in the area in terms of the food offered for the lunch buffet. Most of the food was cold and not plentiful in the warming containers. At times it looked as if there were leftovers from the previous evening mixed in. Despite the warm season, a restaurant should ensure that numerous flies do not linger on the food (mainly the fruit). It's a shame because the entire atmosphere otherwise makes a great impression. Everyone should still make up their own minds.

There is also a grill available. The food from the grill was very tasty. When you brought the food to the grill to be prepared, a singing robot would bring the food to your table. That was really the highlight of our evening. There is a button at the table with which you can let employees know that you want service, we really liked this. There was also space to hang coats.

Something for everyone: vegetarians will find sesame balls and baked vegetables, meat eaters can get various types of meat freshly grilled, children will enjoy the desert buffet, and sushi fans will enjoy the fresh sushi. Sure, some things are just warmed up and actually everything is tailored to Western tastes. But for an all you can eat the price-performance ratio is very fair. We've been coming back for years.

I think it's terrible. The buffet was really carelessly slapped down. Everything was lukewarm to cold. The food from the grill took forever and then fried to death every time. Service listless and inattentive. And all of this at totally exorbitant prices. We're definitely not coming back. There are better Asian all you can eat restaurants in the area.

We were there on a Saturday evening for the buffet with a larger group. We had a separate room with our own toilet, which I found very pleasant because you don't have that train station feeling when you sit in the middle of the large room. The plates were constantly cleared away by employees so that it didn't look messy. The quality of the food is fresh and like many buffet restaurants there is a good selection of produce. There was no direct parking space in front of the house, but the adjacent parking garage with a day ticket is within walking distance.

We were at the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime and sat at a table in a room facing the window. The service was befittingly friendly. The selection of dishes (buffet/a la carte) was okay but unfortunately the food was not always warm. Only in the middle of the warming container was it still warm. The drink order took too long despite an electronic order call. Conclusion: the usual standard that you can find elsewhere. Update: Everything was fine on the last visit.

There wasn't much going on in the restaurant on a Saturday. The service was bad and we got a drink in 1 1/2 hours because no one else came by outside. The plates weren't cleared and the food was just bad and not seasoned.
