Very nice atmosphere, fantastic service, great selection of drinks! Unfortunately that was it. Everything I tried from the regular buffet was lukewarm or cold. The Mongolian buffet was OK. The sushi looked very tasty, but I didn't try it. Summary: We won't come back because there are better Chinese "all you can eat" buffets in the surrounding area (Haan, Wuppertal).

Very large and lots of choice. Child-friendly with high chairs and a small play area. Price/performance All you can eat including drinks is very good and recommended. It was delicious. Also has a small selection of things that you can buy separately. Thanks for the great little red dragon. Thank you for the lovely evening in your restaurant.

Gorgeous, comfortable and excellent service

Affordable all-you-can-eat option with included drinks and Mongolian buffet. The kids thought the rolling sushi was impressive and ran after the delivery robot with great joy... especially when the robot brought singing birthday wishes. A delicious and all-round wonderful experience! However, you have to park in the parking garage because the restaurant is in the city center.

Unfortunately the surcharge for New Year's Eve was quite high and it was never mentioned on the phone or indicated on the internet that it would cost €40 per person, with the justification that there would be a fireworks display for customers like us who had reserved at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m When we left the clock, we never got to see these fireworks. It's a shame that the price has to be increased so much. For the price I found the selection of fruit (dessert) very limited.

I can't understand the bad response, we were there for New Year's Day yesterday because it was very full but the food was great, the staff really tried hard, we were very happy, of course a tiny drawback that we also had to pay 40 euros for New Year's Day even though we left early because of the smallest thing our mistake, we didn't pay attention to the board on the door, our own stupidity 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 the little robot was just worth the fun…….we'll be back 👍

A very nice restaurant. A bit expensive after changes, but now all non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price. I think the price is justified. We always enjoy going there. Food is good and is replenished quickly when it is full. Personally, I find it a bit loud because of the sound, but since everyone speaks very loudly, I don't think it's a problem.

The Red Sun is an all-you-can-eat restaurant in downtown Mettmann. For €32 per person, children pay lower prices, you can plunder both the buffet and the fridges with a wide selection of drinks over two and a half hours. That's a very fair price for what's on offer! Especially because the food at the buffet is completely fine. Of course it's not an authentic approach, but Red Sun offers a wide range of Asian cuisine that's suitable for the masses and tastes European, with something for everyone. If you know that and want to, then that is the strength of this restaurant. The dishes and side dishes at the buffet are all tasty and without any outliers. We didn't find a single slip-up, but we didn't find an absolute highlight either, as everything is stable, reliable and unsurprising. But the best thing was the sweet and sour chicken, which balances the balance between crunchy chicken and pleasantly warm sauce, which creates the special munchies of this dish. The selection on the sushi line is also completely fine. The variations are versatile and completely acceptable for the range and ultimately the price. The plates are placed on the conveyor belt with freshly cut rolls as needed. One could only think again about the presentation of the wasabi offering, which of course is not wasabi but the common dissolved powder. The large bowl is not very attractive. A firmer mixture could, for example, be placed as florets on the soy sauce plates on display. The Mongolian grill, for which you can put together your own dish at the buffet from a wide range of meat, seafood and vegetables, delivers quick and reliable results. A little gimmick from the restaurant comes into play here. The finished plates are brought to the tables by a robot that plays Chinese music. That was the highlight for the accompanying child! So it's a nice gimmick that usefully supports the nice service. All in all, the Red Sun is a successful family restaurant that also offers space for larger groups and has something for pretty much everyone with its culinary offerings.

Food was normal for a Chinese. Staff super nice and helpful. Large, open restaurant, I personally would like it more if there were more separated tables and therefore more "privacy". But what I found particularly good was the approach that wasted food and drinks are financially penalized. Great, keep it up.

Wir waren mit 10 Erwachsenen und drei Kindern am 1. Weihnachtstag dort. Wie immer war es sehr voll. Leider wird für 39 € pro Person Null Service geboten, da jetzt in dem Preis 2 Fassbiere oder Wein, welche man an der Theke durch Vorlage eines Zettels -es bedient eine Person - und einer Flat für Flächengetränke aus Selbstbedienungskühlschränken erhält. In meiner Kantine habe ich den selbigen Service nur für 4,50 €. Die Qualität hat leider auch sehr nachgelassen. Das Lamm und die Ente war zäh und schmeckte nicht frisch. Leider auch beim letzten Besuch. Der Roboter, der das Essen bringen sollte, kam bis zu unserem Tisch nicht durch, da alles mit Stühlen und Tischen vollgestellt war. Jemand der Gehbehindert ist, wird somit ausgegrenzt. Die Atmosphäre war sehr ungemütlich. Wir werden nach 5 Jahren uns nach einem neuen Lokal umsehen.

Reservation for Christmas for 7 people at 12:30 p.m. was confirmed by email, then we called shortly afterwards asking if we could come at 11:30, an hour earlier. The place is quite normal for a typical Mongolian buffet Chinese place. Somehow quite proper, a bit strange, but okay. The staff is surprisingly attentive, friendly and quick for THE crowds. On Saturdays it's all you can eat until 4 p.m., but ATTENTION: for 22 EURO (!!!!), in addition to an incredibly diverse and delicious huge buffet, it also includes ALL drinks that are alcohol-free, including liter bottles, as much as you want the freshly fried section. UNBEATABLE. Definitely go back.

Es gibt Neuerungen. Der Preis für das Buffet wurde erhöht, dafür sind pro Person jeweils 2 Bier oder 2 Glas Wein enthalten (oder 1 Glas Wein und 1 Bier). Softdrinks (Wasser, Limo, Cola,..) stehen in einem Kühlschrank bereit und man kann sich nehmen so viel man will. Nachteil: Man muss sich alle Getränke selbst holen (Bier und Wein an der Theke). Der große Kühlschrank steht hell erleuchtet mitten im Raum und gibt einem ein "Autobahn-Raststätten-Feeling". Mir hat es besser gefallen, als die Getränke noch zu zahlen waren, dafür aber gebracht wurden. Man ist gefühlt nur noch unterwegs. Aber so kann Personal eingespart werden, was ja vielleicht auch nicht genügend zur Verfügung steht. Das Essen, das frisch zubereitet und zum Tisch gebracht wird, war 2mal leider nur noch lauwarm. Wir waren dieses Mal nicht überzeugt.

We've been eating the all-you-can-eat buffet here for years. The restaurant is always good for surprises: for a few years now, a service robot has been used there to bring food to the tables. Quite normal now. Now there are self-service refrigerators for drinks. It's a bit strange because it now looks like a kiosk or a chip shop. The employees are very friendly and quick. The food has been of consistently good quality for years.

We celebrated our son's first birthday on Saturday, made a reservation for 15 people and received a VIP room with 2 round tables. From the food to the super nice waiter who looked after us, we were all thrilled. Highly recommended for larger family celebrations and in between. The children were all thrilled with the robot, it even sang a serenade for our son 😄 thank you for making the day so nice for us and thanks again to our waiter, we were all thrilled with you 🍀❤️

I have to honestly say that for me personally, this restaurant is the worst in the area in terms of the food offered for the lunch buffet. Most of the food was cold and not plentiful in the warming containers. At times it looked as if there were leftovers from the previous evening mixed in. Despite the warm season, a restaurant should ensure that numerous flies do not linger on the food (mainly the fruit). It's a shame because the entire atmosphere otherwise makes a great impression. Everyone should still make up their own minds.

We were there on a Saturday evening for the buffet with a larger group. We had a separate room with our own toilet, which I found very pleasant because you don't have that train station feeling when you sit in the middle of the large room. The plates were constantly cleared away by employees so that it didn't look messy. The quality of the food is fresh and like many buffet restaurants there is a good selection of produce. There was no direct parking space in front of the house, but the adjacent parking garage with a day ticket is within walking distance.

We were at the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime and sat at a table in a room facing the window. The service was befittingly friendly. The selection of dishes (buffet/a la carte) was okay but unfortunately the food was not always warm. Only in the middle of the warming container was it still warm. The drink order took too long despite an electronic order call. Conclusion: the usual standard that you can find elsewhere. Update: Everything was fine on the last visit.

Unfortunately, some of the food is no longer really warm, which should be reconsidered. I personally can't write anything about the dessert buffet because I didn't eat any of it. But my family enjoyed the dessert buffet. Unfortunately, at some point no one came to ask us if we would like something more to drink. Of course there is a lot of activity on a Saturday evening, but perhaps you should pay more attention. Finally, I would like to mention that we found the robot cat to be quite nice, but it was far too loud for our taste. It felt like 20 people had their birthdays last night because the Robo Cat kept belting out “Happy Birthday”. Conclusion for us: Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio no longer fits.

We were particularly impressed by the variety and freshness of the dishes on offer. My wife and our daughter were also impressed by the delicate flavors and careful preparation of the dishes. The service was attentive and professional, which made our dinner even more enjoyable. The ambience of the restaurant is welcoming and cozy, perfect for families or dinner. We've eaten here more often in the last few years. But unfortunately the quality of the food has changed to the detriment. Everything was warm and clean, but some meat dishes seemed to be undercooked. Neither the calamari nor the beef could be chewed properly. The selection wasn't very big either. Other Asians in the area have more choice and better quality.

Well the first impression wasn't that bad, the ambience wasn't great either. The waitress took the drinks. My mother wanted an alcohol-free pilsner, which she told him and he took it. The drinks didn't come or our pilsner. Well, that's all well and good, you can forget about it sometimes, but the waiter made sure that we hadn't ordered it. I sat next to my mother and was surprised that she didn't order wheat like she usually did, so I know 100% that she ordered a beer. Well I told him to please bring an alcohol-free pilsner and that's fine. Very rude to discuss with guests. Then we went to the buffet and I had lamb, kangaroo and beef roasted. In the meantime I tried things like pepper shrimp, duck, chicken skewers with and without breading, rice and noodles and various meat dishes. Half of it was ice cold and the rice was hard and dry. The noodles were ok as were the chicken skewers. The shrimp could have been peeled. But that was ok, they tasted pretty good too. Then came the disappointment of the day: the usually delicious three kinds of fried meat. Normally you can tell the difference very well. Lamb has its own personal taste, the kangaroo is always really soft and tasty, the beef is also always good (in other Chinese restaurants). Here everything was bland, not seasoned and looked like the sole of a shoe... that's how it tasted too , no difference, everything tasted the same... the blast, the whole thing cost €170 for 7 people, our teenagers 12 and 13 had to pay the full adult price. I find it totally disgraceful. Because the two of them hardly ate anything. Regardless, we were here for the first and last time. Thanks for nothing....
