A great find for Italian food in Potsdam. A few blocks from Sanssouci Palace in a residential neighborhood, the restaurant seemed to be more local than touristy. The food and service were both excellent and so was the price. If I lived in Potsdam it would be one of my “go-to” restaurants. Helpful Hint: Enjoy your time at Sanssouci and then treat yourself to a lovely meal at Al Dente.

The food was simply excellent: the pasta was homemade and cooked to perfection. The wine list was also excellently balanced, with many high-quality Italian wines. I will definitely be back. I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I'm still absolutely thrilled. I haven't had such good truffle linguini in a long time, and the wine was excellent. I sat outside, so I can't say much about the interior. I would definitely go back to Al dente if I'm in Potsdam.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer there. The last visit was rather disappointing...the best thing was the appetizer salad. The service is excellent, but the quality of the food is only average.

Since I'm still looking for a good Italian restaurant in Potsdam and have heard from several people how great Trattoria Al Dente is, I tried the place last week. It's definitely popular, because every time I walk past, all the outside seats are taken, and I probably wouldn't have been able to go without a reservation. But you can also sit outside, which is really nice. There are also plenty of seats. I can't really say what it looks like inside. The menu includes most of the classics you'd expect at an Italian restaurant. The focus is on pizza and pasta, but there are also a few meat dishes and salads, but nothing really that you wouldn't find elsewhere. As usual, there's a small selection of vegetarian dishes, although for my taste, it could be a bit larger. They do have a few alternatives, but these are usually the absolute basics. It's a shame that this pizza with arugula, porcini mushrooms, and sour cream was no longer on the menu. So I went with a simple Quattro Formaggi. But before that, I had a little "greeting from the kitchen" with some olives and pepperoni. And I have to say: they were damn good olives. The pepperoni was also very pleasant with its slight spiciness. The pizza was also great. Nice and thin and crispy, and above all, the mozzarella and Gorgonzola went together perfectly. It was exactly my taste and was also quite large. For dessert, I tried something new and had Fichi Flambe – hot figs with vanilla ice cream and cream. It would probably have been really cool if the figs had been flambéed in cognac or brandy, which unfortunately wasn't the case here. This made them a bit watery on their own and, unfortunately, lukewarm. The green pepper in it didn't really add anything to the dish, in my opinion, but rather provided a somewhat odd contrast. But since the combination of ice cream and fruit is generally always delicious, it still tasted quite good. To finish, we had a spirit of our choice on the house – I opted for grappa. The service was adequate, but a bit cold, I found. Prices are definitely on the higher end, and the quality is generally high enough to justify it. The ingredients seem very fresh, and the chef seems to know what he's doing. Nevertheless, there were a few drawbacks here and there that prevent me from giving it the highest rating – especially given the price. I'll definitely go again and can generally recommend Al Dente, but it could definitely be better.

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Despite being very busy, the wait for food was about 30 minutes. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. The order came with extras like sauces, garlic, chili peppers, and olive oil. It was lovely and delicious. The service was first-class. I highly recommend it!!! It's truly worth it!

Al Dente in Babelsberg is an institution. It's always busy, so reservations are recommended for larger groups. Mario and his team are extremely service-oriented and attentive. The food is always excellent, and the kitchen is well-organized. Last but not least, the atmosphere inside is cozy. In summer, you can enjoy the outdoor seating. By the way, as the name suggests, the pasta is truly cooked "al dente."

The waiters are incredibly child-friendly: they actively talk to the little ones, take them seriously and are noticeably happy about their visit. Despite its location on the street, the terrace is cozy and invites you to linger - even when it's full, you feel welcome and well looked after. A place with heart, taste and genuine hospitality. From start to finish, our visit to Trattoria Al Dente was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and exudes the charm of a real trattoria. The service was attentive, friendly and competent - you felt completely comfortable. The food? A dream! The pasta was homemade and perfectly al dente, the sauces aromatic and authentic. Particularly noteworthy is the pasta with truffles from the Parmesan wheel – a poem! The wine selection also left nothing to be desired and rounded off the menu perfectly. To top it all off, there was a tiramisu that tasted better than in many a restaurant in Rome. If you love Italian cuisine, you shouldn't miss this restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

Quality of the food was good to very good. Quantities are okay, prices are at the upper limit. Service very friendly, unobtrusive, makes you feel good. Unfortunately, the guest room is quite cramped and the noise level is very high when it is full. Tip: Great daily specials!

I came here because I was hungry and the restaurant to which I go when I cycle from Berlin to Babelsberg was closed on that day. That was a mistake. Nearly all the spianata on my pizza was rancid and my double expresso only came with one dose of sugar. Only the bottled water was OK...

Uh-oh. We have been to Al Dente many times. But that was a long time ago. The other team was there. They already knew us and it was always a friendly, funny greeting. But that wasn't the problem during our visit yesterday. It was the food. If you can compare that. Previous operator. Different chef and this time, we were disappointed. The pizza was always the finest. Now the inside isn't baked properly and the outside edge is burnt. My husband wasn't full either. As I said, this used to be our favorite restaurant. We were very disappointed. We're sorry to have to report like this. But the restaurant was full and that is probably the most important thing for the new operator...

The tables are too narrow. It is very loud when there are many guests there.

I was a guest there today and have celiac disease. I pointed this out to the waiter several times when I ordered my food. My food was also marked on the menu without gluten. After the second bite I noticed that the sauce was thickened with flour. I complained and I felt like I didn't care. Thank you for the physical injury and the pain I have now. Thank you for the night on the toilet. I can't recommend them.

The food was good and the drinks were also good - unfortunately that was the only positive thing. The atmosphere didn't invite you to linger: the service was pushy and seemed passive-aggressive, which made the evening more stressful than relaxing. The payment was particularly irritating: only cash payment, even though card payment was specified online. In a city like Potsdam, card payments should actually be a given. It leaves a strange impression when this is so consistently insisted on. This was definitely the last visit for me.

Going back next Tuesday! The ambience suffers a bit because it is quite narrow.

Dear team, Thank you for your hospitality and the friendly approach to our visit. I've been there twice and was greeted in a friendly and professional manner. The staff is courteous and has good timing when it comes to taking orders. The atmosphere is authentic and the restaurant is understandably well attended and yet they were always friendly to us and never unprofessional. Unfortunately, I didn't feel full even after my second visit. The first time I had spaghetti agio e olio and recently the tagliolini truffles made from parmesan cheese. Unfortunately, both dishes were clearly not enough, especially the truffle pasta, and I was still quite hungry afterwards. I can understand that the dish has its price, because it is handmade and with truffles etc. Unfortunately the quantity is not satisfactory, hence the three points. I would like you to slightly increase the amount of food in the pasta dishes, I'll be happy to come back. It was phenomenally delicious! For the price (truffle pasta just under €22), I still want to be full and not feel hungry afterwards. We had bread and bruschetta before the main course, I usually can't even manage a whole kebab - as a reference for how much I can eat. With the truffle pasta made from parmesan cheese, I would also have liked the guest to see how it was being prepared; I was looking forward to watching it. In total my bill came to almost €40 and with a half-empty stomach I'm unfortunately a bit disappointed. Best regards

Food was ok... but that was it. Like there was no order at the train station. LOUD and football.. door open and closed. I ordered a table for my son and I's 18th birthday. Nothing was prepared, nothing... Not even a congratulation... I know it differently from other restaurants Never again

We had reserved, but unfortunately the table only became available a quarter of an hour later. To compensate, there was a free champagne. The staff was generally nice, but unfortunately a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the pasta was floating a bit in the oil and the pizza was slightly elastic. The air was stuffy and it was very loud.

We went out to dinner today to celebrate my sister's birthday. We ordered 2 aldente pizzas. With Parma ham and Parmesan cheese, that's what the menu says. The pizzas came and no Parma ham or Parmesan cheese on the pizza. I spoke to the waitress and described my discomfort, she initially denied it and then admitted it when I asked. So we ate cheap Black Forest ham and probably Gouda from Aldi. For me this is clear fraud. I won't eat there anymore. Shame on you.!!!!!!!

Here you will be greeted very friendly by the staff. The table was very attractively set and the napkins were made of fabric 👍🥰. Recommendations were made for dishes that were not on the menu. Even a calzone that wasn't on the menu was no problem to order. All dishes were visually and tastefully very tasty and served hot. The drinks were as they should be, cold drinks wonderfully cool and my latte coffee hot 🔥. We felt very comfortable all around. Even the managing director came to our table and wished us a pleasant stay and bon appetit. ☺️👍 Here the guest is king and we will be happy to come back.🌹

He and his team have truly earned their “tip”. Everything is clean, tidy and well maintained and the price is completely reasonable. The high-quality lamps on the tables are awesome. The first Italian restaurant I will visit again. The only note: since the tables are quite close, it can probably get a little louder when the restaurant is full, although that's just a guess. Especially since it is also popular with children. Babelsberg stop. What I noticed at home was that our things smelled very strongly of the kitchen. We didn't notice anything in the restaurant itself. Addendum: after a few more visits I have to adjust my assessment.

Das Al dente hat uns mit seinem köstlichen Essen und dem zuvorkommenden Service begeistert. Die Gerichte waren geschmacklich top und wurden sehr schnell serviert. Einzig die Sauberkeit der Toiletten ließ zu wünschen übrig. Das Ambiente war bei vollem Haus etwas lebhaft, störte uns aber nicht. Die Tische sind sehr eng gestellt.
