Today we had a delicious meal, great service, great atmosphere, we would love to come back, price/performance ratio is simply great, you feel like you are at home,

Not recommended. We had to wait almost an hour for our food. When we asked how long it would take, we were insulted and asked if we wanted to wait longer or leave. The table next to us got their food less than half an hour later, even before us. When the food finally arrived, we discovered that one of the two dishes was incorrect. No empathy from the unfriendly waiter. I work in the restaurant industry myself and understand that things can be slow in the kitchen, but the unfriendliness and unprofessionalism of the waiter really took over. As I already mentioned, the wait wasn't the primary problem, but the unfriendliness of the waiter, and the fact that the chef came to the table at the end to tell me it was my own fault. And it should go without saying that I didn't have to pay for my incorrect meal; I didn't even hear an apology.

We passed by the restaurant on Wednesday and were able to snag the last available table without a reservation. The atmosphere was great with an open kitchen, and the service was excellent and very friendly. We had the tagliatelle with Gorgonzola and cream sauce. We wanted Italian food, since we'd seen that Germany has a lot of Italian restaurants, and we thought it would be very good. Well, we weren't wrong. The owners are Italian, and you can tell from the moment you walk in. They make the food in a kitchen where you can see how everything is being made (the pizza and the pasta). The pasta isn't homemade, but the sauces, even though you didn't order them, were clearly visible as they were prepared and served. Each dish that came out emanated an aroma that made you want to try everything. We ordered a calzone and a quattro formaggi pizza. The waitress was a sweetheart; she served us in German and English, and when she saw we were Spanish, she spoke to us in Spanish/Italian. You can tell they like to take care of their customers. The only drawback I would point out is that they serve drinks and the food takes a while to come out, so you either have to buy more drinks or wait and it gets warm. The pizza was delicious, Sicilian-style, not as fluffy or airy as Neapolitan, but delicious, authentic Sicilian pizza, which is where the owners are from. There were several Italian tourists in the restaurant, and they all loved it, a good sign that the food is Italian. We had tiramisu, which didn't feel homemade to me, although the portion was generous, but there was no amaretto in the cake, and two coffees. Fresh ingredients, abundant food, and a lot of love from the owners. A slice of authentic Sicily at Cawl. In total, the calzone, pizza, tiramisu, two drinks, and two coffees (which you must have without sugar, to the delight of the owners) came to €46.90. I think it's a very fair price for the quantity, quality, and great atmosphere. If you're unsure between this Italian restaurant and the other one in town, I'd definitely go to this one.

Very good pizza and excellent espresso. Very friendly owner who keeps the service under control. The kitchen is open and spotlessly clean. We'd love to come back.

We chose fresh pasta with porcini mushrooms, which was only listed on the blackboard. I had a view of the kitchen. Imagine my surprise when the chef opened a package of Rana brand pasta. I wasn't expecting that. My advice: stick to salads or pizzas to get homemade food. Too bad. Plus, the wait was interminable (1 hour 45 minutes) without dessert.

When you're on a short vacation, you deliberately look for an Italian restaurant, find one on a side street, and are happy to be able to sit outside. When I asked if a table might be available soon, I was simply offered to sit next to someone else. Without even asking the other guests. I declined. The waitress then said they needed the outside seating. This made me wonder if the only free and reserved table outside was actually reserved, or if they were simply looking to see who and how many people wanted to eat there. They then offered me a seat inside. Alone, in the dark, and far from fresh air. I declined politely, saying that you also want to sit and eat outside alone in a restaurant. There are other great restaurants. And I left. Reviews are very helpful in my opinion. They help individuals decide in advance whether to go there.

I'd say this is the best pizzeria in Calw! Everything is fresh, and the food is prepared fresh in front of you. The pasta dishes are also excellent!

We were received very aggressively when we wanted to order, we were yelled at by what seems to be the boss and decided to leave without even consuming.

An excellent Italian restaurant that impresses in every way. The ambience is stylish and inviting, making you feel at home from the very first moment. The welcome was extremely friendly and accommodating. The quality of the food is particularly impressive – it is freshly prepared and presented with great care. The flavors are outstanding, authentic, and finely balanced. Reservations in advance are recommended, as the restaurant gets busy. There are also some attractive outdoor seating areas, which are an added highlight in nice weather. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended – we would be happy to return.

Only rarely have I received such an unfriendly welcome, after the shop was completely empty, the owner didn't want to serve us because we just wanted a drink, no friendliness, no please or thank you, she poured me my drink carelessly and left without saying anything. Unbelievable

Today we took a trip to Calw and discovered this great restaurant by chance. We had a salad, a calzone and rigatoni al forno. Everything was super tasty and of very good quality. The rigatoni, which was freshly prepared by the chef, was particularly special. We felt completely at home in the restaurant, with the very nice service and the great food, and it wasn't the last time we were there.

By far the best pizza I've ever eaten. Every time we registered with anticipation and were spontaneously welcomed, everything is freshly prepared, which sometimes takes a bit of waiting. However, this waiting time was never unpleasant. Right from the start I was able to experience a very friendly demeanor from the waitress and the chef. You can enjoy a wonderfully furnished room and a great view of the kitchen and preparation. I can warmly recommend espressos, cappuccinos, tiramisu, pizzas, pasta dishes, gnocchi, salads (actually the whole menu), although so far I have tried almost exclusively vegetarian dishes and have a great fondness for the different pizzas. When it came to drinks, I only tried juice spritzers, beer, tea, espresso and cappuccino. The pizza size and portions are definitely enough (for everyone I've been there with so far) and you can take the rest with you if the portion was too good-natured. The seating outside is also very pleasant, in a small alley in part of Calw's old town.

I was shocked when I saw today that "pasta filled with porcini (porcini mushrooms)" is just a random prepackaged package from the supermarket and sold at a high price (and not even the whole package was used)!!!!! I was actually speechless. That's why you don't eat out!!! I find the spaghetti with tomato sauce served without parmesan cheese (which costs extra) unbelievable. If you added parmesan and wanted some extra, I could understand if you had to pay extra. The tomato sauce was bland, although it was hot, it had not been boiled. The other pasta dish also tasted bland and had to be seasoned. Only the pizza was good. Definitely not worth a second visit.

The food here was absolutely amazing! I had the arrabiata and it was just incredibly tasty, just the right amount of spiciness, super aromatic, you can really taste that it was made with love. The Funghi Pizza was also amazing, with a perfectly crispy base and fresh mushrooms. The staff was super friendly and the service was quick. I'll definitely be back! Absolutely recommended.

Great pizza place! I ate a super delicious pizza with beef ham and buffalo mozzerella on Saturday. Unfortunately we didn't make a reservation, but we still managed to get a spot. Very friendly boss served us!

We always enjoy coming here when we visit the region. The salad, the pizza bread, the pasta dishes - everything tastes like it does in Italy, maybe even better 😉 & consistently every time! (Big compliments to Pippo). Fair prices and a very pleasant atmosphere. A nice selection of wines and charming, very authentic service from Lina (the co-owner) round things off. We are big fans.

The restaurant is run by a real Italian and his wife. I was here for the first time today and ordered the Penne all' Arrabbiata, but unfortunately I hadn't read that it was made with bacon in this restaurant. I have never seen this form of penne before. However, the dish was otherwise very good and the spicy tomato sauce was really fruity and spicy, not too much, but nice and pleasant. The penne was also al dente. The homemade dessert, the panna cotta with raspberries, was also very tasty and not too sweet. I'm looking forward to the next time. The only drawback, the portion was a bit small. But it could also have been because the bacon made a big difference and in my opinion it was cut quite roughly.

This is how it has to taste. A dream. It doesn't get any better. THANKS

We made a surprising discovery in Calw today. A really cozy, small restaurant with fine Italian cuisine. You immediately feel at home here. There aren't many seats, but everything is freshly cooked right behind the counter by the head of the house. In addition to starters, the menu includes some salads, many pizzas and several pasta dishes. We chose the specialties of the day and were absolutely amazed by the quality and taste: homemade tortellini with spinach and ricotta filling or porcini mushroom filling. Everything is very pleasantly seasoned and tastes wonderful. The service is also great; Here the boss takes care of all the guests and the service is very friendly and courteous. All in all, a real insider tip in the northern Black Forest. It makes sense to book your table in advance, as Il Buongiustaio is not entirely unknown. We will eat here again as soon as possible - simply top class!!!

Unfortunately I can't comment on the food!! I reserved a table by phone on the answering machine on Friday, with my name and phone number. Came with 8 people on Saturday evening and there was a note on the door saying it was closed due to a lack of staff. But I didn't get any information about it!

What can you say, this is Italy in the middle of Calw. Even though it was a bit chaotic at the beginning, once the machine is running, it runs and great products come to the plate. The owner is such an angel and has a charm where you like to come. So be sure to reserve.

Ich war neulich mit meiner Freundin dort. Sehr schönes Ambiente und den Flair den man mit Italien verbindet. Die Inhaber und das Personal waren sehr freundlich. Alles war sauber und auch das Essen wurde in einer angemessenen Zeit zubereitet. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, was aber grundsätzlich nicht schlecht ist. Ich hätte mir jedoch ein paar mehr Alternativen für Veggies gewünscht. Meine einfache Pizza war durchaus gut. Die Tomatensauce ein wenig langweilig aber der Teig dafür große Klasse. Von mir ****

Super leckere Calzone und Pizzen 🍕 der Teig war super vom Geschmack und schön luftig, der Belag war auch richtig lecker und vor allem mit frischen Zutaten und leckerem Mozzarella belegt🤤 wenn wir in der Nähe wohnen würden, wären wir sicher öfters dort zum Essen. Wenn wir mal wieder dort unterwegs sind kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder 😊 Freundliche und aufmerksame Bewirtung. Alles Top gewesen und einen Besuch wert. 5* Sterne 👍

Gestern wieder Mal Pizza gegessen.Fur mich war Il Buongustaio früher das Aushängeschild was Pizza in Calw angeht.Der Teig außen knusprig innen weich,viel Mozzarella und generell wenig an Belag gespart und qualitativ ganz oben.Gehörte früher zu den besten Pizzen,die ich gegessen hab. Es schleicht sich langsam aber sicher ein Qualitätsverlust rein. Es fing mit dem Teig,der inzwischen nur noch zeh schmeckt.Und gestern war es eine Katastrophe.Kein Mozzarella mehr drauf,nur billiger Gouda (man schmeckt von der Konsestenz und vom Salzgehalt). Und die Tomatensauce war unglaublich übersalzen (konnte man an den Rändern rausschmecken,wo keine Sauce war und wo ein Klecks Sauce draufgekommen ist). Bei dem Geschmack,kann man auch eine TK- Pizza aus holen. Eigentlich 1Stern,da die Pizza einfach nicht essbar war. 2 Sterne,weil ich weiß,dass ihr das eigentlich richtig gut machen könnt. Sollte sich beim nä Mal was an der Pizza qualitativ ändern, ändere ich meine Bewertung.

Sehr schönes Ambiente wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Überaus freundliche Bedienung und die Pizza ist eine der besten in der Region, tolle Zutaten knuspriger Boden und kein bisschen trocken. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Die Pizzen waren in Ordnung; ja sogar ganz gut - über das Essen möchte ich also nicht negativ urteilen. Was aber auffällig war und mich zwingt, gegen meine Gewohnheit der guten Rezension zu verstoßen, war die wirklich schnippische (man möchte fast meinen verbitterte) Bedienung. Hätten wir nicht großen Hunger gehabt und uns auf eine Pizza gefreut, hätten wir das Lokal wieder verlassen; so unwillkommen haben wir uns gefühlt.

Super gutes italienisches Restaurant mit tollen freundlichen Inhabern, die zu Zweit die Gäste verwöhnen. Wir waren 2 Tage später gleich wieder zum Abendessen hingegangen und die Spaghetti Vongole und Spaghetti Algio olio waren einfach umwerfend. Da wird echt noch auf Qualität geachtet entgegen Quantität. Das ist ein Lokal zum Genießen wo alles vom Chef frisch gemacht wird und keine Pizza Massenabfertigung. Bin so froh dass es noch diese außergewöhnliche Klasse und Stil gibt. Einfach spitzenmässig. Wenn ich da Rezessionen lese mit zu teuer - ganz und garnicht weil auf höchste Qualität in der Zubereitung und den Zutaten geachtet wird. Versteht bitte, es ist ein Familien Restaurant und keine Massenabfertigung mit Fertigpizzen. Gottseidank gibt es so einen Geheimtipp heutzutage noch.

Ob Pizza oder Pasta, immer sehr lecker. Toll sind auch die wechselnden Empfehlungen zusätzlich zur Karte. Unglaublich, in welcher Ruhe und Gemütlichkeit und trotzdem ohne ewige Wartezeit die One Man Küchenshow den Laden wuppt 👍

Geschmack und Anrichte der Speisen gut! Frische und authentische Zubereitung. Service leider unprofessionell. Getränke brauchten über 15 Min., Vorspeise fast 40 Min. Auslastung des Lokals war mässig für einen Samstagabend. Das könnte mit systematischer Arbeitweise schneller gehen. Kommunikation zudem recht autoritär, wenig herzlich, eher unnötig hektisch.

Eine der besten Pizzen, die ich jemals gegessen habe! Der sympathische Lokalbesitzer kocht alle Speisen selbst und legt viel Wert auf gute Qualität der Produkte und das schmeckt man auch. Dazu die lustige Bedienung machen den Restaurantbesuch perfekt!

Wegen Reichtum geschlossen! Besonders am Samstag Abend! Und unfreundlich sind sie auch noch dazu (drücken blöde Sprüche). Wir wollten mehrere Pizzen zum Abholen am Samstag Abend um 20 Uhr bestellen. Zunächst wurde man auf Anrufbeantworter umgeleitet. Nach mehreren Versuchen wurde einem unfreundlich und schnappig mitgeteilt, man möge sich an einen "Pizzaservice" (was sie ja nicht sind) wenden. Sie würden den Auftrag nicht schaffen. Dieser Laden hat das Abholgeschäft nach Corona wohl nicht mehr nötig!

Die Pizza war sehr gut. Das Ambiente auch gelungen. Aber bitte tauscht die Messer, die sind nicht gut zum Pizza schneiden

Entäuscht. Einiges was wir bestellen wollten konnte nicht angerichtet werden....keine Ware da... Sollen was anderes nehmen.... Hä? Essen das dann kam war eher durchschnittlich bis lieber nicht mehr. Sehr unfreundliche Bedienung. Hat Gäste unschön angesprochen. Calw ist recht schön....Restaurant eher nicht. Zumindest nicht als wir dort waren.

Wir machen gerade Urlaub im schönen Schwarzwald. Im vergangenen Jahr wurden wir in einem Reiseführer- Buch auf das Städtchen Calw aufmerksam, durch die vielen Fachwerkhäuser. Durch Corona gab es nicht viel Auswahl um etwas Mittag zu essen. Wir kehrten ein, und es war sehr schön zu sehen wie gastfreundlich sie sind. Das essen war super lecker, ging auch sehr schnell. Es wird nicht in einer hinteren Küche vorbereitet, sondern vorn das man es sehen kann. Alles richtig frisch. Ein Jahr später sind wir wieder da und sie hat sich an unseren Sohn, jetzt 15 erinnert. Sie führten damals ein Gespräch über Meeresfrüchte mit Nudeln. Das essen dauerte etwas länger, es war voll. Das warten lohnt sich, wir sind glücklich das sie durch diese Zeit gekommen sind. Die Preise sind geblieben, nur Pizza ist teurer geworden. Ist immer noch bezahlbar. Wir sind aus Leipzig und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Grandioser Kaffeegenuss und sehr sehr leckeres Essen wir es sonst nur direkt in Italien zu finden ist.

Essen und Bedienung war perfekt. Ein Wiedersehen ist garantiert.
