The Aperol was good and the pizza was nice and crispy, I also liked the base.

Service was okay but not really particularly good, the pizza had a lot of cheese (but was very tasty), the ambience wasn't that convincing

Went to the pizza place for the first time yesterday. It was my husband's birthday and he really wanted to go. We drove 90 minutes by car and I have to say I'm really disappointed. The pizza looked great, but after the second slice I couldn't eat any more because the ham tasted sour. I tried my husband's pizza with cheese and it tasted normal. We took the pizza home and my husband ate a slice later and then said he understood what I meant. He couldn't have continued eating them either. It's a shame a lot of money wasted for nothing. I also had dessert which was very good.

I ordered pizza to pick up today. When I came to pick up one of the two pizzas I was given the wrong topping. I didn't make a big deal about it and said that it wasn't a problem and that I would take the pizza as is. The gentleman at the counter was unsympathetic and annoyed the whole time. When we went out he shouted an insult at us in a medium voice in Italian, I don't think he thought we would understand him, but we did :-) I think it's a shame because the pizza itself is good, but with behavior like that I can happily do without it.

I heard about Mario and I was very sorry, I offer you my condolences. Great food, the oldest wood-fired pizzeria in Munich. Ambience nice.

Mario has a great history and is still family owned. As you can see from the review, I like it there. Waiters are funny, the ambience inside is a bit retro, the inner courtyard towards Amalien Passage is super beautiful. My perhaps somewhat surprising observation and opinion about food: Mario brought the pizza to Munich. The restaurant also stands out a bit for pizzas, which are very large. Personally, I think that all the classic second main courses there are now much better. Both the meat and the fish courses, which are generally excellent. Last week we had the sea bream in a potato coating on spinach - great! The lunch menu (that day with salmon) was also very good. Salads were very decent. Therefore: reward yourself and dare to try the classic Secondi Piatti. You won't regret it :)

Ambience like 50 years ago, uncomfortable. Pizza from the wood-fired oven, delicious as always, thick toppings and fast, attentive service. Short walk to the university subway. Reservations on weekends are recommended.

Italian owned ! Got an Uber from my hotel about €12. I had the pizza with mozzarella di buffala and my boyfriend had the Salami pizza, both really good ! Beer n' pizza was perfect ! they're open late even on weekends, I recommend it!

An Italian restaurant with delicious food. The service is good. The shop owner is nice. There is outdoor seating on the sidewalk, an indoor seating, and seating in the inner garden. Inside the restaurant, the food is delicious and fresh.

The food was good, Rigatoni alforno was well seasoned. The pizzas look delicious too. You can definitely go there. The atmosphere of the beer garden and the interior is also really nice.

Excellent napolitan style pizzas, extremely fast service on delivering food, and getting bill or anything during stay went expectionally smoothly the waiters can handle the rush and multiple customers. We were really satisfied with the experience, highly recommended.

Here we are talking about the very high art of baking pizza. A symphony of dough, the right temperature and baking time so that the topping remains juicy. A delight for the palate. Added to this is the service, simply a brilliant atmosphere, with humor and professionalism. I can only recommend “at Mario” to everyone.

For the pizza as the waiter said they don't use Mozzarella they use cheese the 4th season was burnt and not only mine but also that of my relatives a lot of oil not digestible at all you can't say that the pizza is Italian drinks very expensive prices In conclusion, not at all happy but very disappointed

This restaurant was one of the best restaurants at the time of its owner, and when I first arrived in Munich, I went to it every day for more than 16 years. But unfortunately, after the death of the restaurant owner, the restaurant became in great decline, and there is no interest in the customers. I used to like going to Mario's often, the inner courtyard is really nice. However, today's experience was not. I wanted to grab a bite to eat with my 3 year old before heading home. Not everyone has to be child-friendly, but I expect it from an Italian. First they wanted to put us in the last corner, in a separate room where there wasn't a single person. Reason: “You just eat and then leave anyway.” Oh what… When we wanted to leave, “Mann” came to his senses and we were able to have the table at the exit. Children's chair only available upon request after the food was there. When it came to the painting supplies that I took, I was informed that these were not for guests. Man man man… so not child friendly, frightening.

The service in this restaurant is non-existent! We had reserved a table, which the waiter then assigned to us on site. After that, obviously no one was interested in us anymore. Even though the waiters saw us all sitting down and some of them didn't even have anything to do, they ignored us for 40 minutes! An absolute disgrace! I can only advise everyone not to visit this restaurant and will spread the word about it.

It was a nice evening at Mario's. Reservation worked great, we were allowed to choose another table on site. We all really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, a bit noisy after 11 p.m. 😄 Our service was a bit confused and slow, but the Raffaele was great. There is a large beer garden and a few tables in front of the restaurant where smokers meet. A tip: order drinks about an hour before you want to go and pay straight away, otherwise you'll have to wait forever for the bill, as a lot of young people just line up at the checkout. But we'll be back.

The real ristorante italiano in Munich. Starting with the vintage decoration, the helpful and human staff, we enjoyed their delicious italian food.

Four or five stars for Mario? There will be five - because the pizza is definitely worth five stars. And that – for Munich! for Schwabing! – almost acceptable prices. And the service was quick and friendly. Only the ambience of Munich's first pizzeria (1966!) has remained the same since the year it was founded... ... but now it's downright “retro-cool” again! And complaining about it now would be a bit unfair after the lovely time we spent here. So: 5 stars! Fully deserved!

Anyone who isn't looking for a hyper-modern, chic pizzeria and appreciates a more rustic ambience from an earlier decade will enjoy a very pleasant visit here. The food is great, the service is attentive and you feel welcome here from the start...

Yes, the shop has history and everyone knows it “from the past”. The pizza is okay, other mothers now also have beautiful daughters and I think the prices are quite high. Spezi over 5 euros for 0.4 and the beer at just under 6 euros... well... Especially when it comes to drinks, no one needs to come to me about VAT and such. Service was quick and friendly.

One of our regular restaurants. As a family we always like to eat pizza and pasta here. Very nice and attentive service, even when it's busy. On our last visit we had bruscetta and a mixed salad as a starter. And homemade scialatielli and seafood risotto as mains. As usual, both dishes were very tasty and generously portioned. Highly recommended.

Pizza is still great, but drinks are too expensive. A pity

Das Essen war richtig lecker.. Eine Spaghetti Scampi für ca. 18€ finde ich etwas teurer als woanders aber noch Ok, vor allem weil lecker ist 👍. Ich komm bestimmt wieder.

Der Mittagstisch ist preisgünstig und die Pizzen schmecken richtig gut. Luftiger Teig, gute Sauce und reichlich Belag. Einzig manchmal "zu viel" Streu-Käse (wen das stört). Das urige Ambiente ist sehr einladend und auch die Bedienung ist super sympathisch 😊. Einer der besten und vor allem authentischen Pizzerien in München!

Kennt ihr das: Man hat schon um die 500 Italiener durch und denkt, man kennt jedes Gericht in und auswendig? Hier wurde ich tatsächlich sehr positiv überrascht. Es wurde alles aus der traditionellen italienischen Küche herausgeholt. Die Kalmaren waren groß und saftig, die Pasta perfekt zubereitet und das Fleisch ein Traum. Die Antipasti haben mich schon umgehauen, bevor es der Wein konnte. Die hier benutzten Lebensmittel haben eine überaus gute Qualität. Das Ambiente ist einem Ur-Italiener gerecht: Gemütlich und warm. Die Kellner waren freundlich und sehr aufmerksam.

Wenn du auf dünne knusprige Pizza stehst, dann bist du hier richtig.

Tolles Essen, netter Service, schönes Lokal! Kann man nur empfehlen.

waren gestern zum Pizza und Nudel essen bei Mario, leider ist die Zeit der großen Pizzen mit dem fluffigen Rand vorbei auch die Tagliatelle mit Pfifferlingen war nicht ok. Mussten lange aufs Essen warten trotz der wenigen Gäste. Beide Gerichte waren viel zu teuer. Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut nicht. Schade !

Das Essen war lecker. Preis Leistung absolut ok für Schwabing. Aber das Lokal braucht schon mal ein Update bzgl dem Interieur. Es ist dunkel und echt nicht mehr von dieser Zeit. Aus der Innehof-Terasse könnte man auch soviel mehr machen. Der Service war aufmerksam & freundlich (ein netter Grieche)

Die wahrscheinlich beste Calzone der Stadt! Beim Mario stimmt einfach alles, vom Service über das Ambiente und die tolle Geschichte des Restaurants bis hin zur großen Auswahl an italienischen Köstlichkeiten. Hier zu essen ist mir jedes Mal ein Fest! Vor allem die erstklassigen neapolitanischen Pizzen sind ein wahrer Hochgenuss. Außerdem erwähnenswert ist der äußerst herzliche und lustige Service von Kellner Sakis, welcher mit seiner Art den Restaurantbesuch jedes mal zu einem Highlight für die ganze Familie macht. Wir kommen seit Jahren mit Freunden und Familie und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wirklich uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

Oh mei, Mario! Die traditionelle Pizzeria Münchens. Und das merkt man mittlerweile - alles wie immer ganz gut, aber irgendwie doch ein bisschen aus der Zeit gefallen. Bei meiner Suche nach Münchens bester Pizzeria nimmt das Mario irgendwie eine besondere Stellung ein. Obwohl Mario mit neapolitanische Pizza wirbt, ist das moderne Verständnis von einer neapolitanischen Pizza heute doch ein anderes. Ein etwas dickerer, fluffiger und knuspriger Rand, Tomatensoße, geriebener Parmesan sowie Basilikum und Mozzarella (Fior di Latte ) sind die Basis einer neapolitanischen Pizza. Ich verstehe nicht, warum bei Mario auf der Karte Pizzen entweder mit Käse oder andere mit Mozzarella angeboten werden? Irgendein geriebener Industriekäse macht aus jeder Pizza ein billiges Fast Food Produkt, da hilft auch der Holzofen nix. vielleicht überlegt Mario eine zeitgemäße Aktualisierung der Speisekarte?! Ansonsten sitzt man im Hof recht gemütlich, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell und die Preise angemessen. Also ganz OK für den Italiener um die Ecke, aber leider nicht in der Nähe, für Münchens beste Pizza. p.s. Liebes Mario, in einer echten Carbonara hat Sahne nichts verloren!

Bei Mario ist einfach 100% unser Lieblings- und Wohlfühl Restaurant! Wir wurden bisher immer aufmerksam und professionell bedient. Die Kellner und die Inhaberin sind wirklich sehr freundlich! Die Pizzen sind unschlagbar lecker, groß und man schmeckt die frischen Zutaten! Wir lieben das Ambiente der Räumlichkeiten und auch die Terrasse im Innenhof. Es wird steht's auf die Bedürfnisse unseres autistischen Sohns eingegangen (z.B. ruhiger Sitzplatz), was es uns noch einfacher macht das Restaurant zu lieben :) Reservieren empfiehlt sich zu Stoßzeiten unbedingt. Fazit: wir werden immer wieder die 24km Anfahrt antreten 😊🇮🇹🍕

Wir waren heute da im Garten Die Pizza leider nicht Gut. Haare in der Pizza... Ja es hat auch nicht geschmeckt. Salat mit wenig Soße kein Geschmack leider komme ich nicht mehr sorry . Die Bedienung olala ...

Wir saßen draußen im Biergarten und bekamen wirklich leckere Pizza und Pasta serviert. Wir konnten sogar die nicht ganz aufgegessen Pizza mit nach Hause nehmen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sind hier spontan vorbei gelaufen, die Pizza ist wirklich unfassbar lecker und der Limoncello Spritz angenehm stark und nicht verwässert. Werde es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen! :) <3
