Why the reviews differ so drastically from our experience is beyond me. The ambiance is nice, but there are cobwebs here that are older than I am. The tables are too small; you constantly bump into the base. The food was… not good. My wife spat out a piece of sushi immediately because it tasted strange (rotten). The sauce was far too sweet, and the wasabi was… well, certainly not wasabi. If I had to guess, it was horseradish mixed with something else and green dye. Zero percent wasabi. All in all, we waited almost an hour for our food. The table was dirty, the food was bad, and it was clearly overpriced for what we got. It's really only worth one star; the second star is for the friendly service.

We celebrated a birthday party there. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the value for money was excellent. We would love to come back again.

Yesterday, my family and I went to Sakura BBQ & Sushi. We had reserved a table for four for 8:00 PM a month in advance. When we arrived, the restaurant was very crowded, and we had to wait for our table. Despite our reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes before we finally got a table. After we were seated, we waited another 15-20 minutes for a menu and eventually had to ask for one ourselves. The waiter then brought us his notepad and pen so we could write down our order ourselves – which I found unusual, as the waitstaff at other tables were taking orders normally. Many things didn't go smoothly from there either: We asked for bowls of rice for four people but only received one. Only after asking was it explained that both portions were served in one large bowl – it's a shame that this wasn't mentioned beforehand. Drinks and cutlery also arrived significantly late. There were further problems with dessert: The order was taken twice but initially not passed on to the kitchen. Only after asking again did dessert arrive – about 30 minutes late. The BBQ food itself was very tasty, fresh, and delicious. The ambiance was also very authentic and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the service was disorganized and inattentive overall. While the female staff were friendly and tried their best, the male staff seemed overwhelmed. Overall, the evening was disappointing due to long wait times and communication problems – a shame, because the good food and beautiful decor deserved much better service.

The second time we ordered, the hot dishes were cold (we also had sushi). The third time we ordered, the delivery person arrived half an hour early. The fourth time we ordered, the delivery person arrived an hour early and forgot one Chinese dish. When we ordered today, the delivery person arrived four hours early! By the way, we ordered every time via their own website. "Yeah, the boss probably didn't read it," the lady said. We've eaten there many times and have left a lot of money behind – you're happy to do that when the food tastes good. But that was the last time; it's just bad. The ambiance inside is really nice, although it's slowly becoming overcrowded with junk. The green artificial turf outside is just typically Asian, right? I personally think it's a waste of potential to create something beautiful there. What a shame!

We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Sakura, and we were very pleased. From the outside, it looks a bit like a campsite or sports field. But that's no problem. Inside, it's nice and comfortable. Parking is available in front of the building. Access is a bit complicated because you have to cross the parking lot to get to the restaurant. But everything is OK. We had a round table with a grill in the middle. Very comfortable. The selection of dishes was extremely extensive. A very nice, clean (almost new) menu, which is very pleasant. The dishes—sushi, spring rolls, beef platters, ice cream, etc.—were very fine. The price/performance ratio was absolutely fine. The service was very friendly and they even accommodated special requests for dessert. Very pleasant. The cleanliness of the restrooms (cobwebs, etc.) left something to be desired. Although it was better in the men's area than in the women's area. Hence one star deducted for the ambience. But we would gladly come back and can warmly recommend Sakura.

I love the sushi here and order regularly. I found leftover orange fish caviar in my vegetarian sushi set today. We also bought a sushi set with fish on it, so I know it looked like that. For me as a vegetarian, that's really disgusting, and I think they really need to make sure that the vegetarian sushi sets remain vegetarian. Otherwise, I'm always very satisfied ✨️

They apologized, but nothing was offered as compensation for the long wait.

Went to Lörrach from Switzerland to try Sakura. We had friends who were in Japan and we all loved the food and the quality. The price-performance ratio is also great. We were there at lunchtime and were the only guests in the restaurant, so the atmosphere may have been a bit cool.

We only got the main course after complaining repeatedly; without it, we would have probably waited another 30 minutes. Every time we asked how long it would take, the answer was "2 minutes," but those 2 minutes turned out to be 30. The food was good, but unfortunately, the service ruined everything.

Because of the good overall rating on Google reviews, we thought this store had something to offer. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. First we had to wait outside for 30 minutes despite having a reservation and then another 70 minutes after placing our order. The waitress wasn't particularly friendly and couldn't tell us what she was putting on the table (important because we were vegetarians). Since we were a large group, the table was presented quickly. This wouldn't actually be a problem if the waitress had cleared the empty plates and bottles from the table in time. Finally, a dish was served that was still frozen in the middle...

We had the mixed beef platter for grilling. Apart from the fact that we waited over an hour for our food, it was okay. We would have found it better if the meat had not been seasoned and you could have seasoned it yourself. The chicken kebabs were over-salted and the spice on the beef isn't for everyone.

We drove from Zurich to Lörrach specifically to try this Asian restaurant and it was worth it! Our evening reservation for 10 people went smoothly and despite the size of the group, we had enough space. The menu is diverse and offers a great selection at fair prices. Ordered online, delivery came within 30 minutes, everything was fine. I ordered on the Lieferando website and also looked at the menu on the website because I have to eat gluten-free for medical reasons. First the Veggie Box (in the menu picture without sauce) came with soy sauce directly on the sushi, and the Tamago Nigiris (on the website only made with rice and egg) with an ominous white sauce on top. Baked cheese is labeled gluten-free BUT IT'S NOT!!! This only came to light after a phone call with the restaurant, because the cheese is covered in wheat dough. The veggie box was explained to us as soy sauce but the employee didn't have a good explanation for the Tamago Nigiris either or dismissed it as soy sauce even though the sauce was described as foamy and white. In general he barely listened to us, first saying soy sauce was gluten-free and then saying he wasn't sure. First he just hung up on us, then tried to talk us away by saying we would get our money back, and finally we were promised a new delivery of food, this time without the sauces we hadn't ordered. Definitely a big risk for allergy sufferers, people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. The taste and freshness of the food is otherwise okay, nothing out of the ordinary, as long as you can eat it and not be surprised by allergens or gluten.
