I was there yesterday and ordered a gluten-free fungi pizza. At first, I thought you'd definitely taste it gluten-free, but it was so delicious; it was the best pizza I've ever eaten. The pizza wasn't burnt; it was just perfect. My friend really enjoyed her veggie pizza too. I paid €23 for the pizza and sparkling water (including tip). I highly recommend it 😍

We were traveling as a stag party group and stopped at Le Candele. Medina served us very well. Thank you for that, you are great. Highly recommended.

(Note: Two stars might be more appropriate, but we're giving it three because of the friendly service.) We visited the restaurant based on the many positive reviews, but were disappointed. We didn't order the pizza we had originally planned because it looked and smelled very reminiscent of a ready-made pizza at the neighboring table. We chose bruschetta for our starter. The portion was rather expensive, especially since a large green tomato stem doesn't exactly speak volumes about care or quality. For our main courses, we opted for pasta olio e peperoncino and pasta with bacon and arugula. The first was very oily and lacked flavor. The second was also unexpectedly oily, even though the menu only uses a light cream sauce. In addition, the tomato skin and another green stem spoiled the overall impression. The shandy we ordered didn't comply with our request to serve it with less lemonade. It tasted like a ready-mixed drink from a bottle, even though the menu states that they use draft beer. The service was friendly, but overall unspectacular.

A great restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere. The pasta was very good. I left very full. I especially liked the service. (Medina is the best, and her rollercoaster-riding assistant Denis was also great. We need a restaurant with those two in Hamburg!) But the entire staff was also very keen to ensure a pleasant evening. I would gladly come back!

Fantastic restaurant with excellent pizza, perfectly seasoned pasta dishes, very enthusiastic service, and a relaxed atmosphere. PS: Medina is the best! ;) Also not to be underestimated: Denis, Medina's skilled assistant and rollercoaster rider. We've been told about the opening of new branches in Hamburg and Kassel. I expected much more. As a new restaurant, I felt the empathy was lacking. Unfortunately, the risotto rice wasn't convincing. We left before dessert. The seating on the terrace isn't uniform.

Very friendly & helpful! Best shop! I asked out of necessity if I could charge my phone (which was really important). Without hesitation, the waiter gave me a charging cable and a seat!! The €7 calzone to go (which I was allowed to take even though I was already seated and had two apple spritzers) was the icing on the cake! Brilliant, highly recommended!

We were here for lunch. The lasagna arrived warmed up after 15 minutes (warm on the outside, cold on the inside). The pizza was okay but nothing special. The service was super friendly. The price/performance ratio isn't right here. The restaurant is expensive.

Hello. Everything deserves 5 stars! By far the best Italian restaurant in Würzburg. I always go there with my family, and I have to say I'm very satisfied! The waiters are very friendly and nice and are always there when you need something. In some restaurants here, you have to wait a really long time or you don't get served properly at all. I can really recommend it. I've tried a lot of things here, and everything is simply delicious. It feels like I'm in Italy.

Well I have to say I thought the le candele was really good, the service was very polite, the food came relatively quickly, the price is still affordable and you can sit outside and I really appreciate that

As soon as you open the menu, you have a bad feeling: a selection of about 10 types of pasta, which can then be freely combined with 20 sauces – plus over 20 pizzas, various versions of lasagna, three risottos, and other dishes with fish, meat, etc. – with a menu like that, the outcome is already clear: instant pasta, standard sauce, boring – if only it were cheap...

We are absolute fans of the cuisine, the atmosphere, and the lightning-fast service. The dishes are simply delicious, and you can taste the Italian soul in every dish. A special highlight that we really appreciate is the daily lunchtime special: For only around €11-13, you get a main course AND a salad – an unbeatable combination that works every day and is simply fantastic. The only minor drawback is the ambitious price per glass for wine, but this is more than compensated for by the excellent value for money of the daily specials and the overall outstanding quality. The ambiance, right in the pedestrian zone, is very nice. There's also a rooftop terrace. The food arrived incredibly quickly (less than 10 minutes wait) and was really good. The service was a bit lacking in focus and responsibility. We'll definitely be back.

It used to be my favorite Italian restaurant, but personally, the "buon giorno" chatter from passersby gets on my nerves so much that I probably won't go there again... You're still chewing the last bite and your plate is already being taken away... The food is okay, but the atmosphere is crap... I've only really experienced that atmosphere in tourist traps in Istanbul...

Fast good and tasty food. Also vegan options, that's a plus. Atmosphere was a bit canteen. But completely ok for the prices of the dishes.

We picked up a pizza from there yesterday, and it was so, so good and, for €7, absolutely a steal! The sweetest thing of all was that they had one extra pizza and gave it to us for free! We were so happy, and it was absolutely delicious. The crust is perfect—not too crispy, not too doughy. I'm still so happy. I highly recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

After work, I was so tired that I really wanted something delicious to eat. I went to le Candele, and they have amazing dishes. I had spaghetti with crème fraîche and strips of fillet steak. The food came super quickly. I've never eaten such delicious pasta. WOW! The best part was the particularly friendly waitress, Medina. She was a truly wonderful waitress. Thank you so much, I'll be back!

We were in Würzburg for a lecture and wanted to grab a bite to eat before heading home. We went here because of the good reviews, which apparently weren't true. There was a lot of staff for the number of guests, which unfortunately didn't have a positive effect. Our drinks, although ordered immediately, only arrived after our pizzas had arrived, and then only upon request. The pizzas weren't from a wood-fired oven and looked like precisely shaped and relatively thick slabs of dough, similar to the base of a ready-made pizza. The toppings were rather sparse and didn't justify the €15 price tag. We treated ourselves to a cappuccino with cream, although the small cup was more like a latte with plastic whipped cream. The path to the restrooms, which are located in the basement, seemed dingy, and the stairs aren't suitable for older people. This place is definitely not a genuine Italian restaurant, and I was very disappointed. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it at all. 😔

Lucky to get a table at dinner time. Nice owner and great staff, always with a sense of humour in serving customers. Ordered a Calzone Classico pizza, a Combinazione pasta, a Tartufo Nero. All good and delicious.

So, as you can see in the attached photo, the lettuce is not fresh, and in addition very bitter. It was covered with nice arugula from the bottom. The corn was very hard and in addition tasteless. Unfortunately, the steak was mostly fatty, which was very unpleasant to eat. I was there for the first time on recommendation. I don't know how the other food tastes, but there were a lot of customers visiting this restaurant. Maybe I'll try another dish... overall rating is okay. Best regards

Unfortunately pizza without taste, ambience very nice

Tldr: Great food but be wary of €2 charge for tap water even when ordering a drink. I had one of the best Margherita pizzas I've ever tasted at this restaurant. However, I was charged €2 for tap water (Leitungswasser) even though I had ordered an accompanying drink. Every single place I've eaten in Germany was OK with providing free tap water as long as I ordered an accompanying drink. This would have been great to be told in the beginning.

Unfortunately, the pizza really wasn't good, especially when it came to the dough and the toppings weren't more than satisfactory either. The gnocchi were simply finished gnocchi and tasted that way, but the sauce with it tasted good at least. Too bad :/

Friendly service and delicious food!

I was in this restaurant again after many years. The food itself was very good, but the pasta was still a bit firm. I actually ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce, but received the pasta in a tomato cream sauce. If you type the title of the sauce into Google, something completely different actually comes up. When you asked the waiter, who was very friendly the whole time and also offered very good service, this sauce is always made like that - strange. In general, I find the prices a bit expensive compared to the competition and the food, especially the pizza, is not that convincing. Unfortunately, I simply know better alternatives in Würzburg, which are even in hotspots. For example, the Aperol costs €8.90 here, compared to only €6.90 for various competitors. Unfortunately also inauthentic carbonara with cream sauce. But of course you can come here for the food

I order takeaway here very often and the value for money is truly unbeatable. What you get here for 7 euros are still honest prices. The staff is friendly and reliable. We order from Le Candele at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Everything is just right in the restaurant: pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and quick service. Clear recommendation! For allergy sufferers there is also gluten-free pasta and pizza.

“Every dish is gluten-free!” That's a statement and we were thrilled. The gluten-free pizza didn't have to hide: delicious and crispy. We can recommend it without reservation.

All the dishes are fantastic! Loved the arrabiata rigatoni - well cooked and mouth-watering sauce! Seafood Pizza is yummy and vege serve as hot dishes just match the appetite of Hong Konger! Service is the best I ever experienced in Germany so far. All the staff are friendly and warm, very patient introduce the menu and offer right recommendations! Definitely will come again and refer to my friends!

I had a pizza delivered. This was fantastic, I rarely get something as good as delivery. Unfortunately she was too small. 30cm is stated, it was a maximum of 28cm at the widest point. Nevertheless, I am thrilled with the dough and taste and will order again

There is also a wide selection outside of lunchtime, even gluten-free pizza and pasta dishes are offered, pizzas are large and tasty, friendly, attentive staff. We happened to pass by and would definitely go there again for dinner. Large guest area, therefore not so cozy. A few loose room dividers would certainly radiate more cosiness, and outdoor dining is also offered

This was our second time here, the first time was in October 2024, now April 2025, on Easter Sunday evening! The restaurant was almost empty around 8 p.m. (not even a third of the tables in the lower part were occupied). In my opinion, the restaurant is completely overpriced for what it offers. This time I had a tuna salad, which according to the menu was supposed to have various lettuces, eggs, olives and of course tuna salad on it. Among other things However, under the mountains of leaves in the salad, I also found pieces of Parmesan that shouldn't have been there and which I don't like either (since Parmesan contains calf rennet!). I ordered the salad with vinegar and oil, as the menu says, to season yourself. However, there was already some balsamic vinegar on the salad, unfortunately everything was much, much too dry, which is why I asked the waiter for vinegar and oil, whereupon he said that it was already in there (!), I said it was much too dry, and after begging he brought me a bottle of vinegar and oil. I know from other Italians that you get a cruet directly on the table, especially if you have salad as a dish. By the way, the salad cost 19.90 euros, an insane price for this absolutely carelessly prepared something that consisted of 90% leaves - the price in a restaurant with this ambience and plenty of dressing or cruet on the table is a maximum of 13.90 euros, the price if you make it yourself with the best organic ingredients at home is a maximum of 6 euros. My companion had a vegetarian pizza with extra requests on it, I can't say anything about that. I will choose another Italian restaurant the next time I visit Würzburg.

Great place. Pizza and pasta are really great . Especially carbonara. Lasagna was not good, I would not recommend.

Super friendly service and delicious food!

The food was very good. But the ambience and service didn't get any stars because the tables were given away several times and the entire restaurant was full of tables. We sat in the aisle, everyone was waiting there and it was very tight. There was also a drag because the door was always open.
