Very tasty, good service. Higher but justified prices. Unfortunately it was very crowded, you could basically steal food from the table next to you, it was almost like a canteen atmosphere. Otherwise very nice and always worth a visit👍🏼

A very nice place with good Italian food

We had reserved a table for our Christmas party. The moment we arrived the restaurant was packed. After waiting in the aisle for about 10 minutes, we were sent to our table. A table for 4 with 6 chairs. It was super tight. The waiter just said that it was full today. The other tables were also super close together. I've never sat so closely. With a wheelchair, walker or stroller it would have been impossible to enter the restaurant, let alone get to a table. The food was ok but nothing outstanding. The fries were partly soggy because they were under the meat or the plate was too small. Luckily the pizzas weren't that big, otherwise all the plates wouldn't have fit on the table. I've never experienced anything like that. And an absurdity if you have reserved. The only thing that counts here is to cash in on as many people as possible.

Our head waiter DENIS was absolutely outstanding. He was extremely attentive, friendly and enriched our evening with his friendly demeanor. It's rare to experience such a truly impressive, committed and professional service!

A kilo pack of wheat flour in the supermarket costs €0.69. Kilo pack of spelled flour €1.49. LeCandele spelled surcharge simply €5. Spelled surcharge in euros is not declared anywhere. Only upon request. Each drink also costs just under €6. Complete rip off store.

Attention, website is out of date! The breakfast menu includes an Italian breakfast, an omelette and 3 different scrambled egg variants. We went to Le Candele for breakfast because we saw the restaurant in the Schlemmerblock and the online menu sounded very promising. Unfortunately quite disappointing. Hardly any choice on the breakfast menu. Service came once to ask if the food was OK. But then no more. We were the only guests and our glasses/cups were empty. The taste of the food was good, but unfortunately far from what we expected based on the online menu. We had announced that the occasion was a birthday. Unfortunately, this was not taken into account at all. Too bad. Positive: there was gluten-free pizza bread

Even though we had reserved, we were offered a table directly at the staircase in the cloakroom. So we had to sit in the middle of a drafty passage under a light that was far too bright. Unfortunately there wasn't a cozy atmosphere at all, so we didn't stay. In order to prevent something like this, we actually made a special reservation.

Attracted by the good reviews, we were quite disappointed. The Fruite de Mare pizza was black on the bottom and watery on top. The tuna was missing from the Capricciosa salad, which we unfortunately noticed too late. The service was good.

Well, it works with the gourmet block, otherwise I would. I'll go there again

Apparently overbooked on principle, despite having a reservation we had to wait quite a long time for a table and were then seated at a shaky table in the passage area. After intervention, we were given another seat, but we had to vacate it again after the starter because they wanted to put several tables together for a large company. The food was good, but the room was so full that there was unfortunately no sense of peace and comfort.

Despite having a reservation, we were allowed to sit in the stairwell because every hole is filled with tables and chairs, so not even the fire doors can close. The food and service was really good, but the drinks were a bit expensive.

I've eaten here several times and have always been satisfied. From fish to pasta with seafood, everything was great. What is not possible is the truffle pizza with pickled truffles. I think that's an absolute no-go, also quite tasteless, and at €25 it's too expensive. Too bad!

We had dinner with the Schlemmerblock. First we were offered a place in the “winter garden” with 25 degrees. We ended up sitting outside on the street, freezing, the heat lamps couldn't improve the ambience. Upon request, we were allowed to sit inside at a very small table right by the door. The food was mediocre, the Calzone Special had uncut ham, salami and a bunch of peppers. There was an unpleasant smell in the toilet and the soap was empty. The Johannschorle was mixed with a lot of water and the (too) many waitresses seemed underutilized. Overall, a mediocre visit, especially considering that ordering and picking up pizza is cheaper.

We had reserved a table for 2. Unfortunately, when we arrived we had to wait 15 minutes pressed against tables in the completely overcrowded dining room. Only to discover that no table had been reserved for us at all. Instead we were offered a table in the staircase. No ambience, no style...just mass processing. We are happy to pay a few euros more for a nice ambience and delicious food, everything has its price, but certainly not like this. Then they left without having achieved anything. Very, very unfortunate!

Delicious food and quick service. Constantly checking whether everything on the tables is OK, whether something needs to be cleared away and being asked three or four times whether you would like anything else is certainly well-intentioned but almost excessive. Especially since the ambience is nice, but very cramped and therefore quite loud. But all in all still very satisfied and very friendly staff. As is now the case almost everywhere, prices are upper average. Parking is rather bad, you can't have everything, city center with a stroll through the city or park in front of the door. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Very nice restaurant and super fast service. My absolute favorite is that when you pick it up you only pay a paltry €7 for all the pasta and pizzas and there is no saving on the quality or size of the portions. Simply a game changer for quick and tasty Italian food in a student town.

Wir waren heute Abend spontan zu fünft hier. Haben eigentlich nur Gutes gehört. Hatten Tisch bestellt. Saßen direkt an Türe zum Balkon. Diese wurde ständig geöffnet und es zog unwahrscheinlich rein. Es war viel los. Die Kellner waren sehr nett, aber genauso geschäftstüchtig. Essen war naja... Ständig wurden wir gefragt, ob wir noch einen Wunsch hätten. Letztendlich haben wir bezahlt und konnten nicht mehr wirklich austrinken, weil die nächsten Gäste schon an unserem Tisch standen. Es war unter den Kellnern ein unheimliches herumgewusele. Kam mir vor wie auf einem vollen Bahnhof. Vielleicht wären ein paar Tische weniger im Raum besser. So war es kein bisschen entspannt. Und wenig gekostet hat es auch nicht. Schade ....

Great food and friendly service. You could easily have vegetables or other things added to the pasta dishes at no extra charge. Pizza is also great, fresh salad and fresh sauces. The desserts were prepared by ourselves. Very very tasty, I will happily come back!!!

Restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine. The staff were always very friendly and accommodating and, despite the overcrowding, they never lost track of things. The restaurant was completely overcrowded when we visited, there was a queue of at least 20 people at the entrance and EVERYONE had reservations and every seat inside was occupied. The dishes we ordered (pizza, pasta, antipasti) were all good, but without particularly standing out in terms of taste.

We were there last week. The pizzas were OK, the service was good. It was just extremely cold in the rooms. The yeast at 5.90 euros is not justified in terms of price, this is an extortion. The toilets weren't clean. With beer prices like that I won't be back anymore.

Great place, worthy of a visit. Bring your appetite, the portions are large! Le Candele is easy to find in down-town Würzburg. No reservation no problem, though we were early. Place was packed on a Monday evening! Service friendly and fast. Impressive amount of choice on the menu. We craved pizza. Free chilly or garlick oil were provided should you so desire, and even gluten free dough is available no problem. Prices good (€ 50-60 total, 2 ppl), portions large, service excellent, food good quality. What's not to love here!?

During our stay in Würzburg, we were able to spontaneously make a reservation for 4 people on Saturday evening and enjoyed top quality pizzas (AllaChef, Salami e fungi, Pasta marinara and Bolognese) as well as great wines and beer. The service staff was very attentive and friendly. An enjoyable evening and definitely recommended

When the weather is nice outside on the terrace you almost feel like you are in Italy. The restaurant was very busy. The three of us had reserved a table for 6 p.m. and were quickly assigned our table. As a starter we shared bruschetta, which tasted very good, even if the slices of bread were very small. As main courses we had rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce, rump steak with green pepper sauce and grilled king prawns with garlic. As side dishes we chose the daily side dish twice (rosemary potatoes and vegetables). Although the restaurant was very busy, all three dishes were served at the same time after a reasonable amount of time. So far everything is good. Unfortunately, the steak was completely cooked instead of the desired “medium” and the sauce was unfortunately out of the package. The back of the shrimp was cut open to remove the intestines, but that didn't work for everyone. The garlic mentioned in this dish was completely missing. The side dish for these dishes consisted of a small sliced ​​potato, a broccoli floret, chanterelles, two small slices of zucchini, a quartered slice of eggplant and two small pieces of pepper (green and red) which were fried in a lot of oil without spices. Unfortunately, the rigatoni was overcooked and the sauce was without any spiciness. Tastes are different, unfortunately the three of us didn't like the food and we had to realize that the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. We chose the restaurant because of the many positive reviews for the good food. That was a bad decision and we won't go there again.

We have already visited the restaurant twice because it offers gluten-free products. The gluten free pizza (vegetariana) was delicious! Highly recommended! The waiter was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about intolerances. So he thought for himself and, for example, didn't deliver bread with the salad because gluten-free pizza was ordered. There were no complaints afterward, so it seems like the work was done really cleanly. The pizza tastes fresh and no ready-made dough is simply baked. Clear recommendation!

Me and my family were in this Restaurant on 21 August 2024. We entered the restaurant at 13:56 We ordered 1 pizza margherita, 2 lasagne alla bolognese and a 1 bottle of water. The food served at our table was nothing like the Italian food we expected. We realized that It was only a Tourist trap. Description of the food: The "Pizza Margherita" was completely burned, in the picture attached you can see the pizza, for sure the pizza they served us was pre-packaged pizza and microwaved: this is not acceptable in any italian restaurant. The "Lasagne alla Bolognese" they served us had nothing to do with real lasagna alla bolognese. We received the lasagne in a transparent baking dish: the huge amount of liquid cream that left the edges of the lasagna floating without any ragu sauce was clearly visible. Without touching the food, I reported the issue with the food to the restaurant staff. I asked them: is this a pizza margherita ? Where is the tomato ? What kind of pizza dough is it ? At first they tried to explain to me that in Germany they usually eat pizza this way. After I told them that this is absolutely not true because there are a lot of places in Germany where it is possible to eat very good pizza, they reacted very rudely. Their reaction to me was so rude that my 5 year old daughter got scared and started crying. My wife and I decided to pay and leave the restaurant without eating anything. While I was taking my bag one of restaurant staff put his hand on my bag trying to block me from taking it In summary we paid 36.30€ (with my debit card and if necessary i can share the transaction) without eating anything. We leave the restaurant at 14:24 (this info is also available from transaction) We know Italian cuisine very well and this is Not an "Italian Restaurant" The worst experience of my life.

Today I had lunch at this restaurant with my family. We ordered 2 lasagna bolognese, 1 margherita pizza and 1 bottle of water. The waiter served us these dishes, unwatchable and inedible. The margherita pizza had nothing to do with a real Italian pizza: completely burnt, without tomato sauce and instead of mozzarella there was melted pseudo cheese, it looked like a frozen pizza, heated in the microwave. The lasagna was floating in an indecipherable mixture of liquid cream and had nothing to do with real Bolognese lasagna. My husband pointed out that the dishes served did not correspond in the slightest to their description, the waiter and the owner were very harshly offended by our observations. Irritated by the indecent behavior of the restaurant staff, we found ourselves forced to pay a bill of €36.00 having consumed absolutely nothing. We are Italians and we know perfectly what Italian cuisine is like. This restaurant has nothing to do with Italian food. Owner and staff are completely inadequate. Terrible experience. TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID
