Good food, with small drawbacks Le Candele is definitely worth a visit! The pasta was really great and really suited my taste. Unfortunately, I found the lasagna a bit tasteless and I would have liked more seasoning. Overall, a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and I would love to come back!

Today I had lunch at this restaurant with my family. We ordered 2 lasagna bolognese, 1 margherita pizza and 1 bottle of water. The waiter served us these dishes, unwatchable and inedible. The margherita pizza had nothing to do with a real Italian pizza: completely burnt, without tomato sauce and instead of mozzarella there was melted pseudo cheese, it looked like a frozen pizza, heated in the microwave. The lasagna was floating in an indecipherable mixture of liquid cream and had nothing to do with real Bolognese lasagna. My husband pointed out that the dishes served did not correspond in the slightest to their description, the waiter and the owner were very harshly offended by our observations. Irritated by the indecent behavior of the restaurant staff, we found ourselves forced to pay a bill of €36.00 having consumed absolutely nothing. We are Italians and we know perfectly what Italian cuisine is like. This restaurant has nothing to do with Italian food. Owner and staff are completely inadequate. Terrible experience. TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID

I had a great visit to Lecandele today. The restaurant offers a wonderful, cozy atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The menu is varied and the dishes I tried were absolutely delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail. The service was also quick and professional. Overall, a fantastic experience – I’ll definitely be back!

I was in this restaurant again after many years. The food itself was very good, but the pasta was still a bit firm. I actually ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce, but received the pasta in a tomato cream sauce. If you type the title of the sauce into Google, something completely different actually comes up. When you asked the waiter, who was very friendly the whole time and also offered very good service, they always make this sauce like that - strange. In general, I find the prices a bit expensive compared to the competition and the food, especially the pizza, is not that convincing. Unfortunately, I simply know better alternatives in Würzburg, which are even in hotspots. For example, the Aperol costs €8.90 here, compared to only €6.90 for various competitors. Unfortunately also inauthentic carbonara with cream sauce. But of course you can come here for the food

The pizzas were very tasty and the pasta was also very good. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for our food and we were thrilled. The waiters were also very accommodating and super friendly. We would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I cannot understand the 4.7 stars as an overall rating. The starter was very good, but unfortunately the quality declined significantly afterwards. Pizza tasted ok, but unfortunately from the pan = not Italian pizza. Unannounced, mlr encountered Feta on the Quattro Formaggi pizza without warning. The pasta itself was ok, but the taste just wasn't right... Linguine with mussels: the mussels were good, the sauce was pure brine, whether the stomach ache came from the seafood or the high salt content, I'll leave it to that. The three types of pasta al forno consisted of 70% lasagna, which was good, you had to look for the penne and the sauce was unfortunately very bland. Overall unfortunately disappointing with below average service.

When we were looking for an Italian restaurant in Würzburg's old town, we wanted to sit outside. Since it had rained in the previous hours, many restaurants had taken down their tables. Finally we decided to go to Ristorante Le Candele to check if there were any seats available. Shortly after we were near the restaurant, we were approached by three waiters one after the other and almost rushed over to find out if we wanted a table. I found this situation rather unpleasant. Although the waiter later apologized and explained that this was a greeting, it didn't seem like one to me. We got a nice table and the waiter was friendly. We ordered our drinks: my companion asked for water and I ordered a beer. However, the waiter didn't ask if we both wanted water, but instead put a liter bottle of San Pellegrino on the table without asking. Actually, only my companion ordered water. The food was okay, but since we chose simple dishes we didn't have high expectations. When we paid, the waiter said the amount and I added a tip before we said goodbye. In retrospect, the amount seemed a bit high, so I visited the restaurant again. Surprisingly, it turned out that the waiter had simply increased the amount by 10 euros - it was not a false booking, but an incorrect billing. The 10 euros plus my tip were recorded in full as a tip. That was really disappointing.

Yes, how nice to be well served again! The service went the extra mile here and even provided my daughter with a bowl of olives upon request, which wasn't actually on the menu. How nice! The antipasti plate, the salami pizzas and the bruschetta were also very good. Particularly good: spaghetti egg Frutti di Mare, which actually tasted like more. And, it was also available in a small portion. Very customer friendly. The ambience is absolutely pleasant, although the buses that drive past the terrace could possibly be a nuisance. If you know it, it's not an issue. Finally, a nice black with the Albanian waiter, a good coffee, an absolutely F bill and a nice way home. Thank you, Grazie, thank you – we will definitely come back here.

Insanely good experience, we ate on the spot I would have attached a picture of our food but it looked so delicious I didn't get the chance before it was gone. A clear recommendation, the atmosphere, service and food were top notch. We came and got a table for 10, after 20 minutes we had food and drinks on the table. Definitely some of the best food I've ever tasted - definite recommendation! 😋

The restaurant is very good. The food was perfect and the service just as good. I was able to order all of the pizzas gluten-free. There was also a very large selection of desserts (perfect Italian tiramisu). Thanks to the very nice boss who communicated with us very friendly and thanks to the waiter who works in the attic, he recommended very, very tasty wines 🍷 to us.❤️ I will definitely visit the restaurant again soon.

We tried the lasagna, pasta carbonara, pizza salami, and gnocchi. We left with the impression that everything was a German interpretation of Italian food. The pizza was somewhat dry, the carbonara sauce was a bit similar to scrambled eggs. Overall the food was okay, but not what it was supposed to be.

We were looking for an Italian restaurant for a change and found Le Candele. We were greeted by very friendly staff and decided to have a table inside, as the outside area (pedestrian zone) was a bit too lively and the buses were slowly passing by. The upper, quiet terrace was just a bit airy. We had two different pasta dishes and mixed salads. The dishes were served to us hot and tasted excellent. In my opinion, the two salads were a little too generously prepared - good for three people per salad! The prices are at the upper limit for D. All in all, a good restaurant with a nice, clean interior atmosphere that I would recommend.

My wife, kids and I ate at Le Candele today. A truly unique atmosphere with excellent food. There were extra small portions of pizza for the children and tender grilled fish for us. Price-performance ratio is okay. such great waitresses. The boss is so charming and warm, a dream like paradise!!!!

We both had a pasta dish. gluten free for me and gnocchi for my husband. Both dishes were bland and had nothing to do with italien cooking. The gnocchi were over and glued together drenched in fat cheese.

The pizza was generously topped with mozzarella and lightly toasted, very tasty! If necessary, leftover food can also be packed away. Absolute recommendation!

We had reservations for 7 people and when we arrived they were not prepared at all. They sat us at a table, from which we then had to get up again in order to then push another table next to it. The tablecloths were totally dirty and the prices were about 30% more expensive than stated online. We then left again because our first impressions were not satisfactory.

The food is an insult to Italy and the service is even worse. At the best one could call it a tourist trap. Stay away from it! There are enough good restaurants in Würzburg.

I ate there with my family for my birthday, we had a first course and a main course. For starters we had bruschetta and vitello tonnato, for the main course my father had a very, very tasty steak, my mother had a very tasty fish platter and I ate a salmon fillet and that was the best decision of my life to eat there

We got a table for 4 people at lunchtime without booking in advance. Since I rely on spelled/rye flour, I got a very good tasting spelled pizza with rich toppings and a crispy base. Unfortunately, the current construction site activity is somewhat disrupting the ambience outside, but everything else is fine!

Delicious food experience in Würzburg city center. I would recommend the seafood, either grilled or as a seafood mix. However, I'm pretty sure the other options are also great. The waiters were all very helpful and nice, and the whole place has a cozy atmosphere.

For me, Le Candele is my go-to restaurant when I want a pizza. The gluten-free pizza tastes extremely good and the waiting time when picking it up on site is very short. The staff is very accommodating and friendly and has made one or two evenings even better for us. I can only recommend:)

Absolute insider tip. Don't be put off by the street location! As a guest you feel welcome from the first minute. The food is simply fresh, delicious and prepared and served with a lot of love. If desired, the pizza is even available gluten-free. The fresh sea bream was even filleted at the table and tasted simply great. Unfortunately, the desserts were also delicious...whether it was lava cake, pistachio cake or gluten-free panacotta, wow! Mille grazie e complimenti!

All the pasta dishes we tried were completely tasteless. The reports of other guests that the food was poorly seasoned were confirmed. In addition, the portions were very small. By chance we came across the gourmet block to Ristorante Le Candele and were surprised with the best pizza ever. Add a delicious cocktail and the evening was an absolute culinary highlight. There would only be an empty plate for a photo because we were overwhelmed by the enjoyment. We each had a pizza and a small Insalata Mista together, which is easily enough for two people as a side salad. We reserved a table at short notice and were greeted and served very friendly. It's a great, funny team that has fun at work and leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately only 5 stars because there is no more to give 😉

Unfortunately the pizza is rather average, quite thick base and not typically Italian. The salad was dressed with yoghurt, the classic balsamic vinegar and oil would have been better. Still a nice place with friendly staff.

I'm sorry but it is: -Dirty -Toilet full of excrement (really everywhere) And the worst: -Food really bad (and I have relatively low standards). The lasagne tastes like the ready-made lasagna from the discount store, except that I can get 1 kilo of it there for €4 :D It's a shame, never again :)

Food great, service very friendly. The restaurant itself is also very nice. We sat on the roof terrace. Unfortunately not all places were shaded, but that was okay. The smell of garbage that came up every now and then was unpleasant. Afterwards I noticed that the garbage cans were right under the roof terrace. They should be stored somewhere else.
