Last night, the two of us each ordered an antipasti platter. We requested one vegetarian option, but the waiter was completely expressionless and answered our questions grumpily and cluelessly. The kicker... they simply omitted the ham WITH melon from the vegetarian version. They also left out the vitello tonnato. And the ham WITH arugula. Burrata cheese didn't seem to be vegetarian either. So the vegetarian platter arrived practically unfinished. It apparently didn't occur to the kitchen to add more melon, arugula, and burrata, or even a little more of the other ingredients. What a shame! On top of that, everything was incredibly acidic, and the bread looked like it had been sitting out, sliced, for ages. I wanted to impress my friend with the lovely location, but the food was a complete disaster.

We had excellent food for everyone who was with us, whether pasta dishes or pizza, and the appetizers were also very tasty. The service was also very good and attentive.

Well, I'll just sum it up briefly. Il Convento is the Italian restaurant in Kassel. If you're looking for a good Italian restaurant with the best local service, this is the place for you. I would even drive 25 to 30 km with friends to get such good, authentic Italian food as we do here.

I had made a reservation several days in advance via the website but hadn't received a confirmation. So I called that day to find out if everything had gone smoothly. The person I spoke to was unfriendly, told me I could try coming by, and said the colleague who handles reservations on the website was on vacation (or sick). However, there was no apology, and they refused to accept the reservation. Since we didn't feel welcome, we went to eat at another restaurant.

The dishes on the weekly menu are very manageable in size, costing about €20 each. Without ordering a pizza, we wouldn't have been satisfied, even with the appetizer. A change of management would do this lovely location good.

Everything was great, except it was very loud, and the toilet... WELL. As the toilet, so the kitchen... So they say.

The saltimboco was good and the price was reasonable. The dish of the day (pork fillet with pepper sauce) had a bad effect on my stomach and digestion.

No. The ambiance is quite nice. Unfortunately, the unfriendly, unsympathetic waiters ruin it. The vegetables were overcooked, some of the fish was undercooked. I'd rather eat at home. No thanks...and it's expensive, too.

Maybe we just caught a bad day, but the following led me to give this rather poor review: - 1. Coke was warm and had no carbonation 😕 - 2. Coke (ordered with ice this time) was cold & had ice in it but no carbonation - My friends' beer also had no carbonation, or rather, the foam had already collapsed halfway - When ordering a cocktail, we were told there were no more limes left. It was also mentioned that the CO2 container for the carbonation was empty - Ordered food about 30 minutes after arriving - It took about 30-40 minutes for the appetizer (bruschetta) to arrive. Well, it was more like two slices of toasted baguette with cold tomato pieces on top; there was no garlic to be tasted. - About 60 minutes later, I had my pizza; my friends were almost finished. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, but overall it was loud. One minor drawback I found was the children playing, who kept running in and out of one of the doors. It could have been guests, but there's nothing you can do about it. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten was here, No. 70. I returned it after the first bite. My wife had dumplings with mushrooms and cream sauce, which were almost unseasoned. You could barely see them on the plate; it was so little for 19 euros. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether to eat there or not.

I would prefer to give zero stars: I was there on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to celebrate my birthday. I had made a reservation online, mentioning it as a birthday. We arrived and no table was ready, and nothing was set for us. We were seated at a dirty table and the waitress was very rude. I had hoped that mentioning it as a birthday would be enough to at least get us a nice table, but we were seated in the blazing sun. After complaining, we were rudely seated at the next dirty table. I've been coming here for many years. This made my birthday a complete disappointment. The food was okay for the price, but not what it used to be. The waiter didn't even come once during the meal to ask if everything was okay, and we were given an empty olive oil bottle twice. I don't recommend anyone go there and will avoid it from now on.

We had made a reservation for my friend's birthday (6 people) with advance notice. Unfortunately, no table was set, so we were shuffled around and eventually seated in the sun. Only after asking were we given a dirty table in the shade. The restaurant itself showed no attention to the birthday, which was disappointing. Service was inattentive: no recommendations, no questions asked, and the food even arrived late, with the birthday girl being the last to arrive. Overall, the service was very lackluster, so I wouldn't recommend it. The food and ambiance are good.

Pure disappointment!! I was really looking forward to the food and quickly placed my order. The starter arrived after 5 minutes. After 40 minutes, when I asked how long it would take for the main course, I was met with a silent, unanswered response. After 50 minutes, I asked again. The food was apparently almost ready. After an hour, we left because we were treated badly. The restaurant was not even half full; the kitchen, visible from the table, was working with a smile and a relaxed atmosphere. As we were leaving, the waiter and chef turned away. Unacceptable behavior. We have a lot of understanding for waiting times when someone spoke to us. This will cause the restaurant to lose many other customers. I actively advise against eating there!!

Delicious seasonal ravioli with game. The portion was quite small for €25, but the food was delicious, and I would order again without hesitation. Even though it wasn't very busy, we had to wait quite a while for both service and food. Furthermore, the dishes weren't served simultaneously, so I waited for the rest of my order while the food was cooling. Later, we went to collect the bill ourselves, as the staff had completely lost interest.

Italian cuisine, absolutely upscale ambiance. The food was excellent! We were there with a large group (22 people). We had pre-ordered, so we knew what was coming. Ordering à la carte was certainly a challenge for the service staff, but everything was perfect and nothing was missing—high praise for that. What I didn't like so much was that they definitely made us feel like it was a struggle. At first, the staff wasn't always as friendly as I would have expected. The restaurant was very busy overall on a Sunday lunchtime, but unfortunately, some of the advertised dishes were no longer available. Overall, a really nice restaurant with a great ambiance, upscale Italian cuisine, and a large menu/selection.

We came there at 14:00 and wanted to make Reservation for a same day Lunch (16:00). Waiter told us that reservation is not possible. I showed him a table what we wanted and asked if this table is reservated already. Answer was - No. I asked again, that it would be nice if reservation for us could be made. He told us again - No, because he do not know how many guests will be later, and so on. Just bla bla bla... I am 40 years old, and it is first time when waiter says me that I can not make reservation. Also, he was speaking to us like we are some dudes for him... I dont know about the food, because ws choose another place. But service - absolutely bad. Usually I do not write bad reviews, but this case is crazy. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the restaurant. We ordered pork loin with mushroom sauce and tagliatelle. We were extremely disappointed when our menu arrived. Clearly, it wasn't pork loin. The mushrooms were canned and not fresh. A real shame. We won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We celebrated a birthday here with 15 people. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed, which soured the evening overall. The food was very simple and the quality wasn't impressive. The lasagna was about a quarter of what you'd normally expect and barely edible. The pizza was, unfortunately, the worst I've ever eaten. It's a shame, because the restaurant itself is very nice and well-frequented. The high prices are also worth mentioning. Overall, however, the experience was very disappointing.

Nice ambiance, but disappointing service The ambiance in the restaurant is really nice, and the service was reasonably friendly, but unfortunately, our visit was disappointing overall. We had to wait over an hour for three pizzas – even though only about five tables were occupied. There was neither an apology nor any kind of concession for this long wait. Instead, we were simply presented with the full (and not exactly cheap) bill. It's a shame, because the restaurant had potential. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

The food arrived quickly, but then almost cold and tasteless. When I asked if everything was okay, there was no response to my criticism. Completely overpriced... Thanks, but we won't see you again.

The three of us ate there. Upon entering, you're immediately confronted with an aquarium filled with live lobsters, which shouldn't be encouraged in general. We ate there anyway. The basement seemed uninviting at first, but it thawed over time. The food was delicious, especially the pizza. It was just a shame we couldn't eat together, as one of the main courses arrived at least 10 minutes before the pizzas, even though the restaurant was barely half full.

Today we were at this restaurant 07/26/2025. I recommend the restaurant 100%. The staff is very attentive, friendly. The children were treated to sweets. The pizza is amazingly delicious. The atmosphere is simply fantastic. 100/10 on recommendation.

A beautiful restaurant in an unusual but beautiful location, a haven of peace in the middle of the city. We ordered pizza and salad, both served quickly and deliciously. Beforehand, we were served bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which was still warm! A very cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. I have absolutely no complaints. We'd be happy to come back!

The food itself is nice. Not special, just nice. The staff is however terribly slow. We were there on June 29. The waitress spent most of the time we were there busy with one specific table, and she got along very well with those guests. The other guests had to wait.

- Very nice ambiance, but disappointing pizza - I recently visited this pizzeria and was really impressed by the atmosphere. The place is cozy and stylishly decorated. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't quite as impressive. The taste wasn't particularly outstanding, and I've definitely had much better pizza elsewhere. For the future, I would recommend revisiting the quality of the ingredients to improve the pizza quality.

We were craving pizza and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were truly lucky. The food was delicious, the service perfectly attentive but not intrusive, and the ambiance in a courtyard that must have once been a house: everything was harmonious, everything was beautiful. And the waiter who served our table was simply super nice. If we're ever in Kassel again, we'll definitely be back.

I went there on June 21, 2025. It was early evening, so the restaurant was empty, but the staff provided good service. The food was professional in taste and presentation.

Highly recommended! The tagliatelle with salmon and shrimp was absolutely delicious 💕! Unfortunately, a spoon was missing, but otherwise, a great atmosphere, very friendly service, a skillful wine recommendation, and all in all, a feeling like a short vacation...

It's actually a great location, the food is very good, but on two evenings during the trade fair week, the service was absolutely terrible. We were there with the entire trade fair team on Monday, and unfortunately, I was invited back on Wednesday, which I couldn't refuse. The wait was abysmal, the tone of some of the employees was completely inappropriate, and drinks weren't brought or refilled. It's a real shame, because the food and the staff behind the bar were very good.

Service was very tight-lipped; the pasta dishes we ordered (which were unfortunately only lukewarm) arrived first, while our friends' salads came much later. The salmon salad plate was more like a salmon plate with onions, lots and lots of oil, and a little bit of lettuce. Accordingly, it didn't appeal to the customers' tastes. The Paccheri pasta plate was delicious, but, as I said, it was unfortunately only lukewarm and very chewy, and there were only seven noodles. Who is supposed to get enough of that?

I ordered a takeaway pizza – unfortunately, it was completely burnt and barely edible. Some of the cheese was still cold and hadn't even melted properly. I've never had such a bad Quattro Formaggi. For me, definitely: Never again!

Excellent, a great experience in general and at a very good price. I recommend the pasta alla forma parmigiano with truffle. I have been there more than 5/6 times and the quality is always excellent.

Pizzeria with a nice atmosphere and an even nicer beer garden in the old garrison church. Recommended for mild summer nights. The pizza was relatively standard, no frills. The edge was too wide and crispy for me personally but others might like it. Pasta dishes looked good. Service was friendly and on point. Would love to come back.

The ambiance is excellent, but the service has unfortunately declined considerably. We ordered lunch. Despite having made a reservation, we had to wait over an hour for our food. Our server was in a bad mood and so unfriendly that we hardly dared to speak to her. The main course was delicious, but the pasta with meat at €40 was absolutely overpriced. For dessert, we were looking forward to strawberry cheesecake. We got a small, round tart made of overly sweetened, jellied cream with three slices of strawberries. The tarts are available frozen in packs of 10 at Metro and have nothing to do with cheesecake. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing overall; the quality has declined significantly compared to previous years. If only the waitress were friendly...

We were there for lunch with 6 people. Conclusion: We had to wait a very long time. The service was unfriendly. The food was not brought together. The quality was rather mediocre for the high price. The dessert certainly came from the subway. Cheeskake with strawberries. Loveless and bad in taste. The restaurant used to be an insider tip for Kassel. People were happy to accept the high price for this. Far too expensive today for service and quality. We will look for something else in the future.

We had made a reservation and corrected the reservation again by phone to half an hour later. It worked well over the phone. When we showed up, however, we were initially ignored and then greeted with arrogance. We were given a table by a colleague who was no less unfriendly. When we asked about seating outside, a grumpy third waitress told us that it was ok. We then went outside to leave the restaurant via the back entrance. Never again.

When you come into the restaurant it is very open, large and also very beautiful. But eating and drinking really takes a long time even though there isn't that much going on. We've been waiting for food for three quarters of an hour, and then very little comes. For this price it's not that good. The staff looks rather bored and keeps bringing the wrong food to the wrong tables. Overall I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

We discovered this restaurant while passing by and immediately decided to eat there. We didn't regret it, everything was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The ambience of the restaurant leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately we were unlucky that it started to rain and we had to move indoors, but that wasn't a problem. All the waitresses and waiters were very attentive and super friendly. If we ever come to Kassel again, we won't even look for another restaurant and will go straight here.

I've probably eaten there 7 times in a short space of time. The food is super delicious. The ambience is also great with the outdoor area. The service first class. Anyone who writes something bad here probably always has something to complain about ;)

We only drank wine here. The Primitivo was good, the Negroamaro not so much, the bottle was probably open too long. The service staff was very friendly, checked on us every now and then and asked questions. Great!

Terrible service! We arrived an hour before the restaurant closed and asked if we could order and eat. The answer was positive. We were a large group and ordered a lot. I sat there enjoying the evening, the time approaching closing time, but as we were told, "We're working until the last customer." I ate in peace, everyone else in my group had already finished. Then the waitress came and quickly cleared everyone's plates—including mine, which still had half of my meal on it. The entire staff stood there, angrily waiting for us to leave.

Not something special, but a great environment and people enjoy coming here. There are regularly changing monthly menus, which also contain unusual or unusual dishes. It's definitely worth it.

Good evening everyone, I would now like to write a review that I actually wouldn't have thought of. But unfortunately we were totally disappointed today. We had reserved a table for 6:00 p.m. This all worked out perfectly (I made the reservation online). So far everything is fine. Unfortunately, the food didn't go well. In a restaurant like this you should be able to bring all the main dishes together and serve them. Unfortunately that's not the case here. My wife's food came almost 5 minutes earlier than the other dishes! In addition, the food (the potatoes and the vegetables) was only lukewarm. My meal (wild garlic tagliatelle on a pumpkin cream with crabs and truffles) was just good. Cold shrimps were served here, which unfortunately wasn't on the menu. It was a nice combination, but unfortunately it was only prepared half-heartedly; I would have found something warmer much better. Hence this criticism.

There were 7 of us there for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and our dog was given something to drink straight away. The pizzas were fantastic, but all the pasta dishes were very bland - at least we had to add seasoning to all 5 (which is noticeable). The desserts at the end were finally filling. What I actually don't like in the restaurant is the lighting, it's somehow always dark and the LEDs have a low frequency, meaning if you move too quickly it flickers / there's a strobe effect, which is tiring on the eyes in the long run.

The Italian restaurant is easily accessible for wheelchair users. The ambience looks very appealing with the stone vaults. The service was very friendly and you didn't have to wait long for the food. I will definitely go there again when I get the chance. :-))

There were 6 of us there today to get something to eat. We called an hour before our visit because we wanted to make a reservation. Unfortunately, no one answered. When we were there, we were asked whether we had reserved. We denied that. At that moment the waiter had a strange reaction and said he would see what he could do. Finally we got a place. From the moment we sat down we felt very unwanted and out of place. The waiter seemed very annoyed from the first moment and was rude to us. When asked whether there were fries here, the answer was: "We are at a good Italian restaurant, there are no fries here". He had announced from the start that the meal might take a while. But the food still came promptly. There were mostly pasta dishes and two pizzas. The noodles could almost be counted on one hand and were almost a guess to get enough of. The pizza wasn't particularly well topped and the cheese had no taste. The dough wasn't special and I've actually had better pizzas served in kebab shops. However, the ambience is very nice and it is a shame that the service and food unfortunately cannot offer the same. This was actually the first time we didn't leave a tip. We ourselves had waiters in our group of visitors and are still grateful for this visit because we saw how you definitely shouldn't treat guests. We can't understand the good reviews and that has something to do with it Good Italians that they are according to the waiter, nothing to do.

Das Ambiente ist toll, vor allem im Sommer wenn man draußen sitzen kann. Wir sind immer gerne hier her gekommen. Leider wird es immer schlechter hier, früher war die Pizza mal toll, heute ist sie so ölig und in der Mitte matschig das man sie echt nicht mehr essen kann, die Salami schmeckte ranzig und der Schinken weich und glitschig, bäh. Das Personal versucht freundlich zu sein, aber bekommt nur ein gequältes Lachen raus. Teuer ist es auch geworden, vor allem wenn man noch ein Glas Wein zur Pizza möchte. Noch reitet das Restaurant auf Ihrem früheren Erfolg, schauen wir mal wie lange das noch geht. Der Gast wird es irgendwann merken und mit Abwesenheit quittieren, so wie wir und viele unsere Bekannten ab jetzt.

I went there with my family for Sunday dinner on my birthday. The place itself is very nice. Unfortunately, I can't write anything good about the food. Apart from Pizza. We waited a long time for the food, even though there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant... The meals were served at different times, so some people ate and others just watched!!! We got carpaccio. frozen!!! the color of the meat was terrible!!! After returning the plate, we received a new Carpaccio and, beware... it was fresh. We also ordered lasagna and 2 pizzas. One was supposed to be with Gorgonzola. We got the pizza and I noticed that it was a margerita and it was supposed to be Gorgonzola. I pointed out to the waiter and he said that it was Gorgonzola 😂 (I guess he didn't know what it was because of course it was margerita) after taking another plate, we got our pizza after a while. Then I ordered ice cream which I never got... The waiter apologized several times and I wanted to leave Tamtam as soon as possible!!! Well, I know I will never set foot there again!!!

Spontaneously and deliciously eaten. The pizzas are really huge. We had also ordered an appetizer. If we had known how big the pizzas were, then probably not :-)

We've wanted to visit this pizzeria for a long time - and it was absolutely worth it! The pizza was incredibly delicious, made with fresh ingredients and baked to perfection. The staff is great: friendly, attentive and quick. We would definitely like to come back!
