Schöner Italiener in der Innenstadt von Kassel. Die Saisonkarte ist immer ein Blick und Wert und wenn die Terrasse geöffnet ist, ein Genuss Von Ambiente.

Ich besuchte das italienische Restaurant „Sonveno“ zum ersten Mal und war von der Atmosphäre angenehm überrascht. Das elegante Interieur und die dezente, angenehme Musik haben mir sehr gut gefallen und eine gemütliche Atmosphäre geschaffen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Service: Die Kellner waren freundlich, zuvorkommend und lächelten stets, was den Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis machte. Ich werde dieses Restaurant auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen und kann es wärmstens empfehlen!

Ok sie haben meine Bewertung gelöscht und einfach ich schreibe das nochmal, weil so unfreundliche Atmosphäre habe nie in Kassel erlebt: Essen war standard und nicht besonders, Kellner war unfreundlich und alle 5 Minuten bei uns um fragen ob wir was essen möchten, obwohl jeder hatte viel bestellt, war das sehr Unangenehm um alle 5 Minuten zu fragen und wir waren schon fertig mit dem Essen und keine ganze Stunde da gewesen ! Beweis: Meine Rechnung

Wir haben das Restaurant mit einer größeren Gruppe besucht. Leider entsprach der Service aus unserer Sicht nicht den Erwartungen. Nachdem wir unsere Gerichte ausgewählt hatten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass die Monatskarte nicht mehr gültig sei und wir erneut bestellen müssten. Getränkebestellungen dauerten sehr lange. Ich musste mehrfach nach meinem Aperol fragen und habe ihn erst nach einer Bestellung bei einem anderen Kellner erhalten. Eine Person an unserem Tisch musste ebenfalls mehrfach nach einem Glas Wasser fragen. Das Essen selbst war geschmacklich in Ordnung. Allerdings gab es bei den veganen Gerichten Probleme. Eine ausdrücklich ohne Käse bestellte Pizza wurde mit Käse serviert, und die veganen Arrabbiata wurden mit Parmesan gebracht. Außerdem erhielten wir auf Nachfrage nach veganen Speisen nur wenig Unterstützung. Auch die Abrechnung verlief schwierig. Auf unserer Rechnung standen mehrere Positionen, die wir nach unserer Erinnerung nicht bestellt hatten. Erst nach einer längeren Klärung wurde die Rechnung korrigiert. Insgesamt war unser Eindruck daher: Das Essen war akzeptabel, der Service jedoch leider nicht. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung würden wir das Restaurant nicht erneut besuchen.

Ich hatte einen Salat mit Putenbrust. Es war eigentlich nur Eisbergsalat mit klein geschnittenen Äpfeln, ein bisschen Gurke und Putenbrust. Was jetzt nicht so meins.

War ein schöner Abend mit superleckerem Tiramisu - nur der Service hätte ein wenig aufmerksamer sein können.

Gestern war ich in diesem italienischen Restaurant und bin begeistert. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker, frisch zubereitet und voller Geschmack. Die Qualität der Zutaten war deutlich zu merken, und jedes Gericht war mit viel Liebe angerichtet. Auch der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, sodass man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Für mich war es ein rundum gelungener Besuch. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder und kann das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Ich gehe eigentlich nicht so gern zum Italiener. Aber dies ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant, vorallem der Außenbereich. Preise sind gehoben (Ich werde nie verstehen wie eine Portion Nudeln mehr als 3 Euro kosten kann) aber man gibt sich auch viel Mühe denen gerecht zu werden.

Was soll ich sagen??? Sehr enttäuschender Besuch. Im Spinat war deutlich Sand, sodass es beim Essen zwischen den Zähnen geknirscht hat. So etwas darf in einem Restaurant einfach nicht passieren. Die Soße meiner Pasta schmeckte außerdem merkwürdig süß-sauer, sodass ich mich ernsthaft gefragt habe, ob sie noch frisch war. Die Pizza war ebenfalls weit von dem entfernt, was man für den Preis erwarten darf. Geschmacklich enttäuschend und insgesamt kein schönes Essenserlebnis. Dazu kam ein genervter und unfreundlicher Eindruck vom Personal. Wenn man für zwei Personen rund 40 Euro bezahlt, erwartet man zumindest frisches, leckeres Essen und einen angenehmen Service. Stattdessen gab es Sand im Mund, fragwürdige Qualität und Frust. Leider keine Empfehlung

Wir hatten heute Pasta mit Weinbegleitung, Kaffee und Grappa. Es war sehr lecker und der Preis angemessen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient und beraten. Wir konnten und kaum entscheiden, welches Gericht wir nehmen. Wahrscheinlich gehen wir morgen deshalb noch einmal hin. 😁

Sehr freundlicher zügiger Service, leckeres Essen allgemein, man kann drause5und drinnen Speisen.

Was hier als Lasagne serviert wurde, war leider ein Totalausfall. Das Gericht schwamm in einer undefinierbaren, extrem flüssigen und fettigen Sauce. Von einer cremigen Béchamel oder einer guten Bolognese fehlte jede Spur. Besonders ärgerlich: Während die Nudeln völlig matschig waren, war die Oberseite stellenweise komplett schwarz verbrannt. Statt einer leckeren Käseschicht gab es bittere, verkohlte Brocken. Für ein Gericht aus der Aluschale absolut lieblos und handwerklich völlig misslungen. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Das Essen, der Service und das Ambiente waren perfekt. Die Bedienung war jederzeit sehr aufmerksam. Das Lokal ist wunderschön eingerichtet.

Optisch ein Highlight - Speisekarte inkl. Preise auch - der Geschmack war sehr gut - die Optik hat nicht dazu gepasst - und, obwohl es echt leer war, trotzdem Fehler bei den Beilagen... Hauptgang von mir war da - ohne Beilagen - Hauptgang meines Mannes kam 3 Minuten später - dann kamen auch meine Beilagen und dann auch noch falsch... Auf Nachfrage habe ich dann die richtigen erhalten...

Das schon vielfach beschriebene Ambiente überzeugt. Am Abend meines Besuches waren nicht viele Besucher im (riesigen) Restaurant. Im Stress waren die Bedienungen also nicht. Der Kellner, der die Getränke brachte, würdigte mich keines Blickes. Das Essen dauerte 40 Minuten. Die Speisekarte wirkt sehr gehoben, die Preise auch. Deswegen war ich sehr enttäuscht, was mir nach langer Zeit serviert wurde. Der Pulpo war sehr gut zubereitet, aber nur wenige in Scheiben geschnittene Ärmchen. Die Beilagen, man erkennt es auf dem Foto, waren lieblos, ohne Gewürz oder Sose. Ein paar lieblose Kartoffelstückchen, ein Blumenkohlröschen, ... Das war sehr enttäuschen für den Preis. Ich habe der Kellnerin dann erklärt, weshalb ich kein Trinkgeld gebe, sie wünschte einen guten Abend und hat sich kommentarlos umgedreht :-(

Tierwohl? Fehlanzeige. Zum Geburtstag eingeladen – und das Erste, was mich begrüßt, ist ein lebendiger Hummer in einem winzigen Becken, der auf seinen Tod wartet. Ein Bild, das man so schnell nicht vergisst. Es gibt zwar vegetarisches aber dazu fehlt auf der Karte jegliche Kennzeichnung von vegetarisch oder vegan. Konzept und Umsetzung wirken insgesamt veraltet. Wer auf Tierwohl Wert legt, ist hier definitiv falsch.

Sehr schöne Speiselokal. Hatte eine ganz hervorragende Pizza Amalfi. Sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienungen. Sehr gut geschulte Mitarbeitende.

Ausgezeichnetes italienisches Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen, große Portionen, die Kinderpizza hat eine normale Größe, angenehme Atmosphäre, Terrasse und Speisesaal, Wein und Bier. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir waren am 20.04. mit einer Gruppe von 7 Personen vor Ort. Zuerst gab es augenscheinlich keine Reservierung und man wurde an den falschen Tisch gesetzt. Bei der Aufnahme der Getränke rutschte dann vom Kellner noch ein Spruch raus, den man sich hätte auch verkneifen können. Für einen Montagabend war es okay gefüllt. Belegung bei knapp 70%. Dennoch mussten wir erstaunlich lange auf unser Essen warten. 70-75 Minuten. Das ist zu lange für die Anzahl an Personal, die gearbeitet hat. Die Pizza war auch leider nur okay. Eine gute Durchschnittspizza. Da bekommt man in Kassel für das gleiche Geld deutlich bessere. Aber Geschmack ist bekanntlich individuell. Das Restaurant lebt ganz offensichtlich von der Location. Essen und Personal haben noch Luft nach oben.

Hier wollten wir schon lange mal hin, hat aber immer nicht geklappt. Wurden sehr nett empfangen und bekamen schnell die Speisenkarte. Ich hatte mich für die Pizza Bianco mit Blauschimmelkäse, Birnen und "getrockneten Rindfleischstreifen" (für mich eher gerösteter dünner Bauchspeck) mit Walnüssen entschieden, mein Mann für die Diavola. Geschmacklich beide gut. Die Bianco ist durch den sehr vielen Käse extrem fettig, leider fast ungekürzt und für mich viel zu groß. Die Diavola nur durch die sehr fettige scharfe Wurst gewürzt und ansonsten sparsam belegt. Wir gehen nochmal hin, werden diese Pizzen aber nicht wieder bestellen. Die italienische Musik schön, aber sehr laut.

Waren gestern da die Pizza und das Ambiente einfach nur TOP habe noch nie so eine leckere Pizza 🍕 gegessen. Und das Ambiente ds fühlt man sich einfach nur wohl.Immer wieder gerne bis demnächst macht weiter so!!!

Es ist wirklich alles sehr gut hier und Preis Leistung ist wirklich Perfekt! Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und freundlich! Immer wieder gerne ! Und was ich dazu sagen kann, es ist alles frisch und schmeckt fantastisch! Bravo

Das Ambiente ist italienisch, aber es gibt keine Musik. Am Samstagabend war es gar nicht voll, und es war wirklich sehr angenehm. Man kann hier auf jeden Fall gut essen, italienischen Wein genießen und die Desserts probieren! Probier es doch einfach mal aus! 😃

Essen, in dem Fall Nudeln, war lecker aber leider etwas wenig und nicht sonderlich gewürzt. Pizza Quattro Formaggi war gut. Leider waren wir im Nebenraum. Ein sehr schöner Gewölbekeller aber leider etwas zu kalt um dort gemütlich zu essen und länger zu sitzen .

Mein Besuch am 09.01: Laden moderat gefüllt, für 4 Kellner sollte das ganz leicht stemmbar sein. Für unseren Kellner jedoch nicht. Ich bestellte meine Getränke danach ging er ohne ein Wort zu sagen, meine Begleitung konnte nichts bestellen, dann kam er nachdem wir ihn reiften wieder, genervt, um die andere Getränke Bestellung anzunehmen… Deko der Getränke lässt auch zu wünschen übrig, Kellner riecht dazu noch nach Zigaretten, Alkohol und Kaltschweiß… Nicht nach weiteren Getränke gefragt, oder generell irgendetwas gesagt. Essen war dennoch super. Keinerlei Musik im Laden an, man hört nur Stimmen von anderen Gästen und Radiomusik aus der Küche. Wir beide kommen selber aus der Gastro und kommen nicht mehr wieder, wir geben immer ausgiebig und gerne Trinkgeld aber dieses Mal ging es einfach nicht.. Wir hoffen der Inhaber schult seine Leute nochmal, der Service war Katastrophe habe nie so schlechten Service in Kassel gehabt.

Schade, dass ich den Durchschnitt nicht selbst anheben kann, denn wir fanden es wirklich fantastisch 😋 Wunderschönes Ambiente, herzlicher Empfang, freundliches und kundenorientiertes Personal und köstliches Essen. Wir hatten eine Platte mit verschiedenen Vorspeisen, frische Tagliatelle mit Spinat und Gorgonzola, eine Pizza Calzone und Tiramisu zum Nachtisch. Es war köstlich, vielen Dank! 👍

Waren zum wiederholten Male hier Essen. Der Service ist super schnell, aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Die große Speisenauswahl überzeugt auch geschmacklich. Ein Blick auf die im Gastraum verteilten Tafeln mit besonderen Angeboten ist lohnenswert. Gerne immer wieder.

Das Ambiente ist einladend, großräumig und dekorativ gestaltet. Die Tischdeko war auch sehr schön verziert, Essen war tatsächlich „so naja“, in Kassel kann man auf jeden Fall bessere Pizzen finden. Die Pasta-Gerichte sind ordentliche Portionen, die Preise sind fair. Man kann hier mal essen. Halal ist das Restaurant nicht (Türkische Bedienung bringt Alkohol und Schwein) Was ich schön fand, ist dass der Chef fragt, ob das Essen schmeckt und bringt auf Nachfrage italienisches Balsamico und Olivenöl.

Last night, the two of us each ordered an antipasti platter. We requested one vegetarian option, but the waiter was completely expressionless and answered our questions grumpily and cluelessly. The kicker... they simply omitted the ham WITH melon from the vegetarian version. They also left out the vitello tonnato. And the ham WITH arugula. Burrata cheese didn't seem to be vegetarian either. So the vegetarian platter arrived practically unfinished. It apparently didn't occur to the kitchen to add more melon, arugula, and burrata, or even a little more of the other ingredients. What a shame! On top of that, everything was incredibly acidic, and the bread looked like it had been sitting out, sliced, for ages. I wanted to impress my friend with the lovely location, but the food was a complete disaster.

Well, I'll just sum it up briefly. Il Convento is the Italian restaurant in Kassel. If you're looking for a good Italian restaurant with the best local service, this is the place for you. I would even drive 25 to 30 km with friends to get such good, authentic Italian food as we do here.

I had made a reservation several days in advance via the website but hadn't received a confirmation. So I called that day to find out if everything had gone smoothly. The person I spoke to was unfriendly, told me I could try coming by, and said the colleague who handles reservations on the website was on vacation (or sick). However, there was no apology, and they refused to accept the reservation. Since we didn't feel welcome, we went to eat at another restaurant.

The dishes on the weekly menu are very manageable in size, costing about €20 each. Without ordering a pizza, we wouldn't have been satisfied, even with the appetizer. A change of management would do this lovely location good.

Everything was great, except it was very loud, and the toilet... WELL. As the toilet, so the kitchen... So they say.

The saltimboco was good and the price was reasonable. The dish of the day (pork fillet with pepper sauce) had a bad effect on my stomach and digestion.

No. The ambiance is quite nice. Unfortunately, the unfriendly, unsympathetic waiters ruin it. The vegetables were overcooked, some of the fish was undercooked. I'd rather eat at home. No thanks...and it's expensive, too.

Beautiful restaurant with a great menu. The food was fantastic. Friendly staff, and the price was also perfect. Highly recommended if you're in Kassel.

Maybe we just caught a bad day, but the following led me to give this rather poor review: - 1. Coke was warm and had no carbonation 😕 - 2. Coke (ordered with ice this time) was cold & had ice in it but no carbonation - My friends' beer also had no carbonation, or rather, the foam had already collapsed halfway - When ordering a cocktail, we were told there were no more limes left. It was also mentioned that the CO2 container for the carbonation was empty - Ordered food about 30 minutes after arriving - It took about 30-40 minutes for the appetizer (bruschetta) to arrive. Well, it was more like two slices of toasted baguette with cold tomato pieces on top; there was no garlic to be tasted. - About 60 minutes later, I had my pizza; my friends were almost finished. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, but overall it was loud. One minor drawback I found was the children playing, who kept running in and out of one of the doors. It could have been guests, but there's nothing you can do about it. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten was here, No. 70. I returned it after the first bite. My wife had dumplings with mushrooms and cream sauce, which were almost unseasoned. You could barely see them on the plate; it was so little for 19 euros. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether to eat there or not.

I would prefer to give zero stars: I was there on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to celebrate my birthday. I had made a reservation online, mentioning it as a birthday. We arrived and no table was ready, and nothing was set for us. We were seated at a dirty table and the waitress was very rude. I had hoped that mentioning it as a birthday would be enough to at least get us a nice table, but we were seated in the blazing sun. After complaining, we were rudely seated at the next dirty table. I've been coming here for many years. This made my birthday a complete disappointment. The food was okay for the price, but not what it used to be. The waiter didn't even come once during the meal to ask if everything was okay, and we were given an empty olive oil bottle twice. I don't recommend anyone go there and will avoid it from now on.

We had made a reservation for my friend's birthday (6 people) with advance notice. Unfortunately, no table was set, so we were shuffled around and eventually seated in the sun. Only after asking were we given a dirty table in the shade. The restaurant itself showed no attention to the birthday, which was disappointing. Service was inattentive: no recommendations, no questions asked, and the food even arrived late, with the birthday girl being the last to arrive. Overall, the service was very lackluster, so I wouldn't recommend it. The food and ambiance are good.

Pure disappointment!! I was really looking forward to the food and quickly placed my order. The starter arrived after 5 minutes. After 40 minutes, when I asked how long it would take for the main course, I was met with a silent, unanswered response. After 50 minutes, I asked again. The food was apparently almost ready. After an hour, we left because we were treated badly. The restaurant was not even half full; the kitchen, visible from the table, was working with a smile and a relaxed atmosphere. As we were leaving, the waiter and chef turned away. Unacceptable behavior. We have a lot of understanding for waiting times when someone spoke to us. This will cause the restaurant to lose many other customers. I actively advise against eating there!!

Delicious seasonal ravioli with game. The portion was quite small for €25, but the food was delicious, and I would order again without hesitation. Even though it wasn't very busy, we had to wait quite a while for both service and food. Furthermore, the dishes weren't served simultaneously, so I waited for the rest of my order while the food was cooling. Later, we went to collect the bill ourselves, as the staff had completely lost interest.

Italian cuisine, absolutely upscale ambiance. The food was excellent! We were there with a large group (22 people). We had pre-ordered, so we knew what was coming. Ordering à la carte was certainly a challenge for the service staff, but everything was perfect and nothing was missing—high praise for that. What I didn't like so much was that they definitely made us feel like it was a struggle. At first, the staff wasn't always as friendly as I would have expected. The restaurant was very busy overall on a Sunday lunchtime, but unfortunately, some of the advertised dishes were no longer available. Overall, a really nice restaurant with a great ambiance, upscale Italian cuisine, and a large menu/selection.

The food is good but for a starter and a first course more than two hours seems a bit excessive to me and it wasn't even full in fact quite empty 🤷‍♂️

We came there at 14:00 and wanted to make Reservation for a same day Lunch (16:00). Waiter told us that reservation is not possible. I showed him a table what we wanted and asked if this table is reservated already. Answer was - No. I asked again, that it would be nice if reservation for us could be made. He told us again - No, because he do not know how many guests will be later, and so on. Just bla bla bla... I am 40 years old, and it is first time when waiter says me that I can not make reservation. Also, he was speaking to us like we are some dudes for him... I dont know about the food, because ws choose another place. But service - absolutely bad. Usually I do not write bad reviews, but this case is crazy. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the restaurant. We ordered pork loin with mushroom sauce and tagliatelle. We were extremely disappointed when our menu arrived. Clearly, it wasn't pork loin. The mushrooms were canned and not fresh. A real shame. We won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We celebrated a birthday here with 15 people. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed, which soured the evening overall. The food was very simple and the quality wasn't impressive. The lasagna was about a quarter of what you'd normally expect and barely edible. The pizza was, unfortunately, the worst I've ever eaten. It's a shame, because the restaurant itself is very nice and well-frequented. The high prices are also worth mentioning. Overall, however, the experience was very disappointing.

Nice ambiance, but disappointing service The ambiance in the restaurant is really nice, and the service was reasonably friendly, but unfortunately, our visit was disappointing overall. We had to wait over an hour for three pizzas – even though only about five tables were occupied. There was neither an apology nor any kind of concession for this long wait. Instead, we were simply presented with the full (and not exactly cheap) bill. It's a shame, because the restaurant had potential. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

The ambiance is great, but unfortunately the service is terrible. It wasn't busy, and we were completely ignored at first. Drink orders were only completed after three requests. The food arrived quickly, but then almost cold and tasteless. When I asked if everything was okay, there was no response to my criticism. Completely overpriced... Thanks, but we won't see you again.

The three of us ate there. Upon entering, you're immediately confronted with an aquarium filled with live lobsters, which shouldn't be encouraged in general. We ate there anyway. The basement seemed uninviting at first, but it thawed over time. The food was delicious, especially the pizza. It was just a shame we couldn't eat together, as one of the main courses arrived at least 10 minutes before the pizzas, even though the restaurant was barely half full.

A southern atmosphere within the walls of a church ruin in the heart of Kassel. The staff needs training...

Today we were at this restaurant 07/26/2025. I recommend the restaurant 100%. The staff is very attentive, friendly. The children were treated to sweets. The pizza is amazingly delicious. The atmosphere is simply fantastic. 100/10 on recommendation.

A beautiful restaurant in an unusual but beautiful location, a haven of peace in the middle of the city. We ordered pizza and salad, both served quickly and deliciously. Beforehand, we were served bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which was still warm! A very cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. I have absolutely no complaints. We'd be happy to come back!

Nice place with a nice terrace. The food was ok, but nothing more, and therefore a bit expensive. We ate pasta. The service was absolutely terrible, very unfriendly waiter, we didn't feel welcome, ruined the experience.

The food itself is nice. Not special, just nice. The staff is however terribly slow. We were there on June 29. The waitress spent most of the time we were there busy with one specific table, and she got along very well with those guests. The other guests had to wait.

- Very nice ambiance, but disappointing pizza - I recently visited this pizzeria and was really impressed by the atmosphere. The place is cozy and stylishly decorated. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't quite as impressive. The taste wasn't particularly outstanding, and I've definitely had much better pizza elsewhere. For the future, I would recommend revisiting the quality of the ingredients to improve the pizza quality.

We were craving pizza and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were truly lucky. The food was delicious, the service perfectly attentive but not intrusive, and the ambiance in a courtyard that must have once been a house: everything was harmonious, everything was beautiful. And the waiter who served our table was simply super nice. If we're ever in Kassel again, we'll definitely be back.

I went there on June 21, 2025. It was early evening, so the restaurant was empty, but the staff provided good service. The food was professional in taste and presentation.

Highly recommended! The tagliatelle with salmon and shrimp was absolutely delicious 💕! Unfortunately, a spoon was missing, but otherwise, a great atmosphere, very friendly service, a skillful wine recommendation, and all in all, a feeling like a short vacation...

I came across this location by chance, I ordered pasta and it was very tasty. The service was also impeccable.
