The second time, food poisoning... both times after eating at Avanti. What a shame.

The dough is really inedible, I wouldn't go back.

The food is okay. The service is poor. Long wait times, requests are forgotten or ignored, and payment is only accepted by debit or cash. Apparently, they haven't arrived in 2025 yet. I received a message from Google that Avanti has requested that this review be deleted, arguing it is defamatory. My review is not defamation, but legitimate criticism, and apparently Avanti can't handle it.

This restaurant is trying to have negative reviews deleted. My review below is allegedly defamatory. However, I was able to prevent it from being deleted by providing evidence. Because of this, I had to lower the rating. Personally, I suspect this wasn't an isolated incident, and therefore the overall rating is too high because the negative ones are deleted. The food (pizza) was okay, but the service was unfortunately very unfriendly. We went there twice, the second time on May 2, 2025, at lunchtime. The same waiter each time. Both times, it was very negative. There was never a thank you for the tip, even though we gave around 10%. This waiter left a lasting negative impression.

Nice ambiance, good service, but some of the food was quite bland. Despite plenty of pepper and salt, it felt tasteless and neutral.

The location is truly beautiful, but the service unfortunately doesn't make up for it. You quickly feel like you're a nuisance; drinks are brought to your table after 40 minutes of irritated requests, and the service is, unfortunately, extremely lackluster and uncaring. Which is a shame, because the restaurant at the Königsgalerie is completely different. The food is mediocre, but the service, unfortunately, reflects negatively on that.

Great atmosphere – but where are the people? Sunday afternoon, August, plenty of sun – and I'm sitting alone in a charming pizzeria on Florentiner Platz. Stone wall, quiet square, shady trees, Italian beer… the ambiance practically screams Dolce Vita. And yet: not a single guest besides me. It makes you wonder what Kassel residents actually value in their free time. Apparently not good food in beautiful surroundings. Maybe they'd rather stand in line at the discount store or grill on the balcony overlooking the trash cans? Who knows. It's a shame, really – because Avanti deserves more attention. If you want to get away from Kassel for a bit without leaving the city, you should come here. But please not all at once – I enjoy the peace and quiet.

We've been eating here for over 20 years and are always very satisfied. Great service and delicious food.

We used to really enjoy going to Avanti...unfortunately today was the last time for now. The food was good, but unfortunately the service wasn't. It's a shame you're practically ignored.

It's nice outside. But I find the pizza, which arrives after 5 minutes, kind of boring. Totally normal. Also, unfortunately, there are only two vegetarian options (Munghi and Margherita), and we recently had to wait 20 minutes for the bill. I've been there several times because my friends like it... and every time I'm underwhelmed by the price.

The food is always delicious. The service is friendly, too. There are always a variety of daily specials.

Incredibly beautiful, like the light! After a busy day in Kassel, we went to Avanti, a wonderful Italian restaurant with a Florence-Kassel twinning wall. The staff is friendly, helpful, and helps with choosing wine and food. The friendly atmosphere in the heart of Kassel is wonderful. Great wines and very good pizzas on a wonderfully warm summer evening. Many thanks to everyone who made this evening unique. We would love to come back.

Ordered pizza bread to go. It wasn't crispy at all. The dough was soggy.

Beautiful, large outdoor area under trees and parasols. I was there on a Saturday lunchtime when the weather was nice, and it was no problem getting a seat. The service was friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were served promptly. The food was very good and the value for money was good. I paid €33 including drinks and dessert. A definite recommendation!

We were in Kassel for two days and ate here both evenings. The food was excellent, and the waiters were typically Italian. We would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

A highlight in the Königsgalerie in Kassel is the truly excellent and delicious pizzeria La Avanti. I had a bruschetta with fresh tomatoes for starters, and a fresh, delicious salad with tuna, egg, and buffalo cheese for my main course. Everything tasted great and the portions were generous. My wife had a pizza with cooked ham, peppers, artichokes, and olives. A truly harmonious pizza. Every component was of very good quality and flavorful. The price was right, and the service was very friendly. We'll definitely be back. Thank you very much.

A gorgeous and very good restaurant. The staff is very kind and responsive. There is a seasonal menu. The pasta is handmade. The seasonal pasta with crayfish was gorgeous. They also have nice cocktails. The atmosphere is pleasant. We would visit again.

The food is delicious, but I wouldn't go there again. The service is really ridiculous. You literally have to run after someone to get noticed, which is completely stupid as a paying customer. I couldn't finish my meal and had asked to pack it up. I didn't get it after all. When I asked again where it was, I was hardly noticed at first, but when I was seen, I was just told there was nothing here. When I asked the other waiters further, they just said it should be there somewhere. When the older woman tried to tell me "that the food will be thrown away if you run away so quickly." (I was away from my table for 2 seconds) I found it too ridiculous so I left. So I paid 18 euros for half a portion, a stupid saying and bad service. Not again.

Ich war das erste Mal mit meinen Eltern in dem Avanti Garten. Die Bedingugngen waren alle sehr freundlich und sind auch auf extra Wünsche eingegangen. Mir haben die "Penne de Chef" gut geschmeckt. Genauso war die "Pizza funghi" auch gut. An einem schönen warmen Tag ist ein Besuch im Avanti Garten auf jedenfall empfehlenswert!

If the service isn't the best, then at least you shouldn't type in €5 too much when billing and then give me €3 back after I say I want €4 back. I already noticed that this was extra.

EXCEPTIONAL cuisine and I say this as an Italian. Spaghetti Avanti with incredibly good homemade pasta and one of the best tiramisu I've ever tasted. Michelin star… fantastic!

Visit on Saturday March 22nd, 2025, around 5:30 p.m.: After 30 minutes of waiting patiently and asking a waitress in the meantime, we were ignored with a smile on our faces. Sorry, we have experienced good cuisine and very courteous service here for 30 years. What the new generation exudes here is pure arrogance combined with complete ignorance. Absolutely no longer recommended!

The three of us were in the beer garden at Friedrichsplatz today. The service was a disaster. We were ignored for a whopping 25 minutes. The would-be Sicilian kept walking past. Unfortunately, there were even more guests sitting without drinks. You don't have to do it again.

The food tastes very good and is prepared quite quickly, but the service is a disaster. The employees ignore some customers completely, slam the menu on the table and throw the change on the table and then seem annoyed when there is no tip. We'll never go there again

Very crowded because of Kasseler Freiheit but still good service and good food. Had pizza and pasta. Pizza with seafood was absolutely delicious. Pasta was with green tagliatelle and salmon.

Avanti in the Royal Gallery: There is an employee who is very unfriendly and never asks if everything is okay. It only takes orders and payments. A different setting would be appropriate. Otherwise the food tastes okay for the price.

Two people were there and ate very well, once pizza and pasta, both tasted very good. Can only be recommended. Ambiete is just a shopping center but super tasty and friendly service.

Fast, friendly service, delicious and freshly prepared food at a fair price. Despite the restaurant being full, the order was delivered to the table very quickly.

The food and the price are right here. I had dinner here with my parents yesterday. I enjoyed a salad and water. Homemade fresh rolls were also served. We were all very happy with our food. My parents are already regular guests here. Keep it up and please don’t change any more of the recipes!

Ich bin hier schon länger regelmäßig Gast und hab schon einiges von der Karte probiert: Pizza, Pasta und Salat. Die Speisekarte überzeugt! Hin und wieder gibt es hier abends Live-Musik. Diesbezüglich ist zu bemerken, dass es durch die Galerie ohnehin schon recht laut ist. Wer sich also an einen gewissen Geräuschpegel nicht stört und gern Musik hört, findet hier alles, um einen perfekten Abend zu erleben.

I'll now first talk about the location in the basement of the Kö. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite nice for a restaurant in the middle of a shopping center. What's a bit annoying every now and then are drunk people who are quite annoying when you're eating when they bring their beer cans to Lidl. The service is generally quite good. Taking the order is quick, but between orders you often have to get up yourself and go to the service and tell them what you want. Such as Salt and pepper or an ashtray outside if you are a smoker. In my opinion the food is delicious and freshly prepared. When you're finished, plates and glasses often sit on the table for a long time, even when there's less activity But I recommend everything as a whole package.

Never again! The roast pork was as dry as straw, instead of the dumpling there were fried potatoes fried in oil (without any prior notice). The prices are exorbitantly high and cannot be justified... felt like a typical tourist trap.

I first noticed the store negatively when the employee gave strange looks that were very dismissive and unsympathetic. In addition, the same waiter ignored you when you called him and looked annoyed behind you and shook your head. And as if that wasn't enough to portray a store negatively, there were pieces of plastic or glass in the pizza.

Food was okay, but not special. But service is special, rather annoyed and not motivated. We have enough walk-in customers and also regular customers. The table was only cleaned when we were already seated. It's a shame.

We were there for lunch during the week. The location in the city center is really good - within walking distance for shopping. The food was good - there's nothing to complain about in terms of price either. The waiter was probably a bit tired that day - but with a little patience everything worked out well.

Pizza was very good. We had a good place. Slow service due to lack of staff. Our salad was forgotten, but came relatively quickly when asked.

Now the negative: if you have such bad service (unfriendliness, not even a hint of eye contact and clumsy speech), you shouldn't be surprised if no one goes there to eat soon. They are really great, and they were always baked properly - no soggy dough in the middle, and that happens to almost every pizzeria in Kassel, sorry! I was disappointed with the noodles or spaghetti...they were "swimming" in the sauce, I only ordered once.... But the pizzas are really great...🤗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍀✌🏼❣️

Avanti restaurant in Kassel exceeded my expectations in every way. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying their pasta dishes – they were cooked to perfection. The dessert menu was also impressive, with mouthwatering options to satisfy any sweet tooth. We were there on a Thursday evening and it was just a wonderful evening. Live music, fast service, delicious food and a waitress who really listened to our every need. We had a bottle of Chardonnay, very tasty and light, the fried oyster mushrooms as a starter, tagliatelle with salmon and the garlic spaghetti with pepperoni as the main course. Then a cappuccino and an espresso. Everything tasted excellent. Thanks for the perfect evening. :)

Friendly and competent employees

I can't understand the bad reviews. It was very crowded for a Saturday, but understandable as the Christmas market is right outside the door. Despite the extreme rush, we got a spot straight away. There was also a child seat. The waiters were all nice. The table was wiped immediately after we sat down and the cards were brought out. Unfortunately there were no fries for my little one, I asked specifically, the waitress was very nice and said, "If it's for the little one, then order the fries from the shop next door, it's completely fine." Ordered three pizzas and didn't have to wait very long. Where we sat we also had a view of the kitchen. Pizzas are homemade, very large and very tasty. So far the best pizza of my life was the one in Offenbach at Pizzeria am Markt, but it was just as good. In general it smelled very good there. Considering it was so busy, the waiters were very quick. Well, our waitress brought me a small Coke instead of a large one, but my God, that can happen. I didn't say anything because I also saw the long queue at the toilets. Some larger groups had to wait a little longer, but as soon as something became available, we made sure that those waiting got a place. Unfortunately, sometimes some customers got in the way of the waiters when they were waiting for a seat. Sorry, but you don't have to block the way, sometimes the waiters have tons of dishes that they have to carry back and forth. All in all, very good pizza, friendly staff.

Das hatte nichts mit Italienischer Küche zutun. Die bestellte Pizza hat nach Tiefkühlpizza geschmeckt ohne es zu übertreiben und die Pasta hat nicht nach Pasta geschmeckt sondern eh nach eine Nudelsuppe, einfach ohne Liebe zubereitet. Wie sagt man es so schön, das Auge isst mit, in dem Fall genau das Gegenteil. Für ein Italienisches Restaurant sehr enttäuschend.

Eine durchwachsene Bewertung kann ich nach dem heutigen Besuch abgeben. Gute Auswahl an Gerichten. Preise sind wirklich vollkommen in Ordnung, keineswegs überteuert, meine Pizza war heute nicht gelungen, kann passieren, nicht schlimm, aber wenn man gefragt wird und etwas beanstandet, erwartet man zumindest eine verbale Reaktion, das es an die Küche weiter gegeben wird. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Sonst brauche ich auch den Gast nicht fragen. Freundlichkeit des Personal könnte besser sein. Vielleicht eine Momentaufnahme von heute, trotzdem empfehle ich das Restaurant 👍🏼👍🏼

I've eaten in this restaurant since I was 7 y/o. I had the pleasure to taste many items on their menu. After 16 years I still consider their spaghetti frutti di mare as THE best I've ever had. During the years the restaurant lost some its atmospheric flare, coming from an exquisite restaurant with pretty tables and sowly turned into a more modern look for a quick in and out dining.

Tolles Restaurant in guter Lage. Essen qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Personal überaus freundlich. Allgemein ein toller Pizza Place in Kassel. Absolute Empfehlung!!

Wenn ich in Kassel bin, gehe ich meistens 1 x hier essen. Die Umgebung ist nicht die Schönste, das Essen immer lecker und trotz der ganzen Preissteigerungen sind die Preise für so leckeres Essen völlig angemessen. Ich hatte kurze Röhrennudeln in köstlicher Soße mit Auberginen. So lecker! Das Mittagsgeschäft war durch und mir wurde beim Bezahlen sogar gesagt, wie ich die leckere Soße selbst hinbekommen kann. Fühle mich dort immer gut bedient und gesättigt.

Wirklich sehr gutes Essen und große Portionen. Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Wir sind Stammgäste. Bester Italiener in der Stadt, selbst in Italien ist Avanti immer unsere Referenz. Man sitzt in der Königs-Gallerie etwas exponiert und es herrscht deswegen immer Trubel, das muss man tolerieren. Aber die Qualität des Essens entschädigt dafür allemal.

Die beste Pizza in Kassel zu fairen Preisen. Leider hat das Ambiente Bahnhofshallen Flair, wird aber durch hervorragendes Essen und freundliches Personal ausgeglichen.

Prima Italiaan, niets gemerkt van klachten over trage bediening, lekker eten voor een prima prijs. Lokatie is was ongezellig zo midden in het winkelcentrum.
