Franco's Ristorante in Kassel

Bei der Bestellung fragte ich die Bedienung klar und deutlich ob ich eine halbe Portion vom bestimmten Salat als Vorspeise bekommen kann, und sie antwortete klar "Ja", was auch der Nachbartisch mitbekam. Dazu bestellte ich noch ein Pastagericht. Ich bekam aber die normale Portion. Als Antwort auf meine Frage warum es keine kleine Portion ist sagte die Bedienung dass es keine kleine Portion von dem Salat gäbe!? Ich erwiderte dass ich bei der Bestellung klar nach der halben Portion gefragt habe und keine zwei Hauptgerichte essen kann, sagte sie kurz:" dann packen wir es "dir" ein" und ging. Keine Entschuldigung, kein Entgegenkommen. Klar, Fehler passieren aber so geht man mit Gästen nicht um. Gastfreundlich geht anders.

Wir müssen uns sehr geirrt haben, wenn es sich nicht um eine Tiefkühlpizza handelte. Geschmacklos und ganz anders als erwartet. Der Kaffee war allerdings gut. Alles in allem aber eine Enttäuschung.

Pizza erinnert optisch und geschmacklich stark an TK-Pizza. Kostet jedoch 3x so viel. Von italienischer Pizzakunst ist nichts zu spüren.

Nettes Personal, gemütliches Restaurant aber super kleine wirklich nicht leckere Tiefkühl-Pizzen zu verkaufen ist echt schade.

Es war die kleinste Pizza, (Größe einer kleinen Fertigpizza) die wir je in einem Restaurant serviert bekamen dabei hieß sie sogar noch "groß" !! Zudem sah der Teig nicht wirklich selbst gemacht aus und der Belag, nach der die Pizza benannt war (Inferno wegen Peperoni) fehlte fast gänzlich. Zudem war das Salatdressing wirklich unterirdisch. Ich schreibe sonst nie Rezensionen, schon gar nicht Negative, aber in diesem Fall musste es jetzt mal sein.

Wirklich die schlechteste Pizza für diesen Preis jemals. Absurd klein, ganz sicher TK und weder richtiger Mozzarella noch Basilikum auf der Napoli. Sehr sehr schade….

Ich habe eine Pizza zum mitnehmen bestellt. Diese war unfassbar klein, in etwa so groß wie meine Hand. Ich bin mir außerdem ziemlich sicher, dass es eine TK-Pizza war. Das finde ich für den stolzen Preis von über 13 Euro extrem frech. Bitte unbedingt meiden!

Freundlich und leckere Pizza. Gemütlicher Altbau

Wir sind in den letzten Jahren oft hier gewesen, doch der Service wird immer schlechter und bei einem Italiener immer wieder nach Parmesan fragen zu müssen ist doch etwas irritierend. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen!

Ich kann dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen, da ich in meinem Tintenfisch eine kleine, gefährliche, scharfe Fischgräte gefunden habe. Als wir den Besitzer darauf aufmerksam machten, entschuldigte er sich und machte Witze! In einem anderen Restaurant hätte man uns einen Rabatt oder ein Dessert angeboten. Zum Glück blieb mir die Gräte nicht im Hals stecken; sie hätte mich aufkratzen und verletzen können. Ich weiß nicht, vielleicht bin ich auf noch mehr Knochen gestoßen.

Meine Freundin hat beim bezahlen an der Theke, ein Glas vom Tablet mit ihrer Hand getroffen, was daraufhin runterfiel und zubruch ging. Passiert in der Gastronomie täglich, aber in diesem Laden ist es gleich ein Grund, seinen Gast bloßzustellen und so ein schlechtes Gefühl zu vermitteln, dass sie unter Tränen das Lokal verlässt. Zitat der Servicekraft ,,Das ist jetzt richtig Assi... Das Glas hat 40€ gekostet... (Weil es wohl eine Namensgravur besaß). ,,Auch meine Chefin meinte, sie hätten sich zu ruppig beim bezahlen gezeigt" Wow. Geht's noch ??? Wenn das Glas für das Lokal so bedeutend ist, dann stellt es das nächste Mal nicht direkt dahin, wo die Gäste bezahlen, wenn nicht am Tisch abgerechnet wird... Fazit : Das erste und letzte Mal... Ihr habt uns nicht nötig, ich weiß... Aber wir euch auch nicht... !!

The young waitress was really sweet. The older gentleman, less so. We had a table for 1.45 hours. The manager wanted to serve us as quickly as possible and get us out of the restaurant. We knew the table was reserved for later in the evening, but the way she served us was truly unpleasant. The food was average, rather weak.

Very expensive, especially the drinks. 5.10 for a 0.33 cl beer, 5.30 for a small limonchello... desserts over €10... They take advantage of tourists.

We don't think the price/performance ratio is justified at all; we're used to something different, or perhaps we've been spoiled. It wasn't filling enough, but the taste was okay; we've had better. The pizza was very small, and the starter and dessert were exorbitantly expensive. But the service was simply fantastic!

Service was poor; I tried three times to order drinks and dessert. Finally, after 30 minutes, I went to the cash register to pay without success.

I was really looking forward to the pizza – the place feels cozy, and the service was super friendly, which I immediately noticed as a positive. Unfortunately, the pizza didn't taste as good: a lot of (albeit good) dough, few toppings, and overall rather dry. Unfortunately, when I picked it up, it was only lukewarm. The size surprised me – so small that they really should have stated the diameter on the menu. I thought the price was quite high for the portion. It's a shame – I was hoping to find a new, cozy Italian restaurant nearby, but the pizza didn't really impress me in terms of taste.

I got a takeaway pizza for the first time today. The service was really friendly—that's why I gave it a second star. Unfortunately, the taste was rather disappointing: few toppings, a lot of (albeit tasty) crust, and overall quite dry. On top of that, the pizza was already lukewarm when I picked it up. Quite expensive for its surprisingly small size. Unfortunately, no reason to come back.

Once you've been here, you won't want to leave. This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites. The food is absolutely fantastic! As a guest, you feel completely at home. So if anyone is looking for a new favorite restaurant, you've come to the right place! I'd also like to say a huge thank you to Franco's for the lovely evenings and the amazing food.

Typical Italian with a long tradition in the western part of Kassel. Food is ok, the portions are small, if you are really hungry you should think about it. The pizza base makes you doubt whether it is homemade. But: absolutely great service!

Really great food! The Vitello Tonnato is the best I've ever eaten. The staff is friendly and very accommodating.

This was my first time there but not the last time. We had 2 starters, main course and a bottle of wine. The price-performance ratio is justified! It was very tasty and the service was super friendly.

Hands down the best Pizza I had for a long time. It even surpassed most Pizzas I had in Italy. The staff is really nice and if you go there try the Inferno Pizza with truffle mayo. It's out of this world. A+ and highly recommended.

Authentic enjoyment and a warm atmosphere - this charming Italian restaurant is a real insider tip! It is located in an old building and has a cozy, living room-like atmosphere with its rustic and loving furnishings. You immediately feel at home - as if you were staying with good friends. The menu impresses with authentic dishes that are prepared with a lot of love and fresh ingredients. The service was also excellent - friendly, attentive and with real recommendations rather than just standard answers. Here you can tell that the hosts really value their guests and are passionate about what they do. A wonderful place for a relaxed evening with great food in a cozy atmosphere.

Pizza was very disappointing! Far too small for the price and the base is reminiscent of a frozen pizza. Nevertheless, the service was good and the ambience was also pleasing. We were still more than disappointed.

The food was okay. But after 1.5 hours, things suddenly had to happen quickly, the table had been reassigned and people were already standing at the door. Unfortunately, this had not been communicated beforehand. They then wanted to get rid of us quickly! Unfortunately we discovered too late (just visiting Kassel) that we also had two expensive drinks from another table on our bill!!! An expensive and unsatisfactory visit! We will definitely not go to this restaurant again the next time we are in Kassel!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal bei Franco und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Ambiente stimmt, auch eine schöne kleine Terrasse steht bei gutem Wetter zur Verfügung. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, unser Essen wurde zügig serviert und die Speisen waren total lecker. Überrascht haben uns auch die günstigen Preise. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Had a pleasant dining experience. Our attentive waitron Dennis was exceptional. Warm reception, Great advice. Loved the Risotto with Chanterelle mushrooms. Spaghetti alla vongole was a bit salty. My wife lasagna was delicious. Authentic Italian Restaurant atmosphere.

Very good food (spaghetti alla vongole). The taste and presentation are extremely appealing. My wife's wish for salad and dressing separately without oil would be fulfilled immediately and without any problems. The service (already familiar from the clay oven) was, as before, attentive, courteous and extremely friendly.

My absolute favorite shop, the food is great, the service is great and you can enjoy a lovely evening. The map is manageable and that's a good thing!

The boss is a bit distant. It is quite narrow in the restaurant, otherwise the walking path is too narrow for the employees.

The new season menu (Jan./Feb.) has a very tasty main course. The cooking point of the cutlet is harmonious, the vegetables have a bite, the sauce has a perfect consistency and the potatoes have an aromatic note of rosemary. The salads and the various grilled seafood impress with their perfect seasoning and, as always, are cooked to perfection. Here too, extra requests never cause a problem or problem. You are simply great. :-) Now I have also tried the autumn menu and am just as impressed. The pumpkin soup is the best I know (compared to four other restaurants). The autumnal salad leaves nothing to be desired and fits perfectly into the season. The chanterelle dishes are all a culinary delight. And the team is, as always, nice, courteous and warm. You get what you pay for. In terms of value for money, it's okay. Location very nice. It has to be said that from ordering to eating went very quickly. No Italian salami on the pizza.

Very nice atmosphere. The waitress was very nice, the waiter was ok, the boss was absolutely rude. The food was also okay but nothing special. Pizza is not recommended. We were straight downstairs without ordering wine and the only excuse was for spoiled fruit on the dessert. I used to be a big fan, but unfortunately I can no longer recommend it.

June 2020 Always perfect... and that's been the case since the mid-80s. Addendum: .. visited this location several times again and was never disappointed. On the contrary... when I go out to eat with friends... at FRANCO's I can rely on quality and a pleasant atmosphere. - - - - - 15.06. - July 1, 2021 And again spent several evenings in FRANCO's living room...either just with my wife or with various friends invited along. The quality of the food, the attentiveness of the staff and the overall feel-good effect is still exemplary. Corona measures: It goes without saying that the guest “independently” shows their host the “tested” or “vaccinated” forms and registers using the app or form. - - - - - - Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 Another two long visits to Kassel and again "fell for" FRANCO's Ristorante with several friends who had taken them with us. On several evenings during the above-mentioned stays, it was always a culinary delight that left us extremely satisfied in terms of quality and quantity. What's strange to me are guests who comment negatively on the parking situation here (probably because they're too stupid to park...) I always find a place... and sometimes I walk 50m. We received a voucher for this restaurant from our son and looked at the reviews beforehand. We were a bit unsettled by many negative reports. But afterwards we can't understand the bad reviews. The food came quickly, the waiters were friendly, attentive and accommodating. Had one or two amusing sayings on their lips. It was really great, keep it up. Thank you for the lovely time with you.

Ich liebe dieses Lokal seit 25 Jahren. Sehr gutes Publikum, immer volles Haus, angenehme Stimmung, gleichbleibend sehr gutes Essen auf ganzer Breite und höfliche , zuvorkommende und persönliche Bedienung. Gehört zu meinen Restaurant-Highlights.Es gab Zeiten, da war ich 2 mal die Woche dort und ging und gehe noch, stets in bester Laune wieder nach Hause! Ich war gestern da und musste fest stellen, dass von der Küche über den Service einfach alles super gepasst hat. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Es ist eine kleine und gemütliche Pizzeria, in der mittleren Preisklasse. Toiletten waren sehr sauber.

Wir waren eher zufällig dort - aber bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal. Die Pizzen waren nicht besonders groß, aber dafür echt lecker. Der Boden hat schon seinen eigenen besonderen Geschmack, dazu knusprig, aber nicht hart, in der Mitte dünn, aber nicht durchgeweicht. Das Ambiente ist toll, wir haben draußen in einem kleinen gemütlichen Vorgarten gesessen.

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp in Kassel. Super leckeres Essen. Sehr liebes Personal. Bester Italiener in der ganzen Stadt!

Es war alles sehr lecker, aber ich muss sagen, dass die Pizza dort ein Scherz ist. Sah aus und hat auch wie Tiefkühlpizza geschmeckt. Dann dafür 12,50€ ist leider überhauptnicht der Qualität gerecht. Gerade bei einem Italiener sollte das nicht sein. Vorspeisenteller lecker, aber auch sehr teuer. Aber außer die Pizza war, wie gesagt alles lecker und auch die Bedienung war sehr nett und die Atmosphäre auch sehr schön.

Essen, Wein, Service, Ambiente, für uns war alles zur vollsten Zufriedenheit. 5 Sterne!

Kleine Portion, schlechte Qualität

Eine gute Adresse. Ich gehe gerne dorthin, wenn ich mit Freunden und Geschäftspartnern Termine habe.

Pizza ist lecker, aber zu klein um satt zu werden und dafür leider zu teuer (8,50€ für eine Margherita mit 22cm Durchmesser).

Das italienische Restaurant Franco's in Kassel ist eine Institution. Das Essen ist sehr gut 👍 👍. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt dort keine Parkplätze, aber man sollte sowieso vorher reservieren. Das Restaurant ist auch gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich wirklich

Wir haben hier einen gemütlichen Abend verbracht und wurden schmackhaft und zuvorkommend bewirtet.

Ein besonderes Restaurant. Toller Service, man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Die Speisen alle frisch und mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgesucht und zubereitet.

Das Essen ist super Lecker! Und super Personal.

Lekker en gewoon goede Italiaanse schotels. Pizza en pasta. Opgelet: de vlees hoofdschotels waren copieus.

Bei unseren ersten beiden Besuchen hat die Köchin auf unseren Wunsch hin, spontan und sehr lecker vegane Köstlichkeiten in der Küche gezaubert. Dann wurden wir gebeten, 2-3 Tage vor dem geplanten Besuch bei der Reservierung um ein veganes Menü zu bitten. Das haben wir gemacht und wurden fürstlich belohnt: Es gab raffinierte Bruschette mit Oliven und Orangen, ein Kartoffelauflauf mit Aprikosen und dazu Kichererbsenplätzchen und als Dessert eine leichte Bananen-Erdbeercreme, sogar ganz ohne Zucker. Ein köstliches Erlebnis! Auch das Carpaccio und das Ossobuco von der Karte - für die Fleischesser, war sehr, sehr gut. Der Service im Restaurant und in der Küche ist an Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit kaum zu überbieten. Franco‘s hat sich inzwischen zu unserem Lieblingsrestaurant gemausert. Jeder Besuch wurde zu einem sehr gelungenen Abend. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder.

Wir kennen dieses sehr gute italienische Restaurant noch aus unserer Zeit in Kassel , wir wohnten dort bis 2007. Am Samstag, 23. 10.21 war ich allein in Kassel und ging zum Restaurant gegen 20 Uhr. Es war voll und viel zu tun. Der Chef kam zu mir, ich fragte nach einem Platz und bevor ich weiterreden konnte, rief er laut , er sei gestresst und es gab keinen Platz. Dann lief er weg und mich stehen. Ich werde dort nicht mehr hingehen was schade ist. Ich bin Arzt und wenn Stress ist , muss ich auch freundlich und professionell bleiben. Wenn das bei Franco nicht geht, soll er eine Aushilfe einstellen. So vergeht auf jeden Fall jeder Appetit.
