The Trattoria Fine Secolo in the Heidhausen district of Essen has been our favorite Italian restaurant for a refined lunch break for years. Famiglia Maccarone and its team bring Mediterranean delicacies to the table – with Italian hospitality in an appealing ambiance. Whether it's pasta or pizza – the food here tastes simply wonderful. In addition to the extensive menu featuring classic Italian cuisine, there are also regular specials and daily specials. Customizations are easy to make, so everyone should find something to suit their taste. The pizzas (Frutti di Mare, Papa,...) are particularly popular! The dishes are all very well-crafted. Good service, a nice selection of drinks and wines, plus excellent grappa and exemplary espresso – what more could you want? Enjoying your meal outside? That's also possible at Fine Secolo! In summer, the terrace invites you to linger (even if the wasps can sometimes be annoying and the street is noisy). Welcome friends! We'd be happy to see you again!

The food is excellent. We tried everything on the menu, and everything was excellent. I recommend the gratinated scallops; I've rarely eaten anything so delicious. The service is on par with the food. The entire team/family is very friendly and accommodating. You feel at home here. We look forward to our next visit!

Great shop, delicious food, great team

The food is good and there is plenty of parking in front of the house. The service is nice and you also have the feeling of being welcome. The points of criticism include: - In the summer, when you sit outside, lots of fat blowflies. You are even warned by the waiters. - Stuffy air quickly inside. - At late hours the waitress tends to be inattentive.

Ambiance very nicely decorated. Unfortunately, some of them are a bit expensive for what you get. Potatoes & side vegetables very oily. The staff seemed very stressed and therefore inattentive at times… You could thank people for tips. Tiramisu was very tasty!

After many years I was once again at this noble Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was - as always - very pleasant. The welcome was very personal and the service was first class. Friendly, unobtrusive and always attentive, I really felt like a guest here. The food was high class for a more than reasonable price. The ingredients are definitely fresh and of high quality. Restaurant hors centre ville et disposant d’un petit parking. Un batiment bien entretenu et joliment décoré. La carte est uniquement en allemand… Coté cuisine c’est typiquement une belle et généreuse cuisine Italienne goûteuse et joliment présentée. Le personnel est souriant et attentionné, un effort est réalisé pour vous parlez dans votre langue maternelle. Merci… Réservation préalable conseillée surtout le W-E, mais apres 19h30 c’est plus simple d’obtenir une table.

Wir kamen auf Empfehlung unseres Hotels Gastgeb und wussten nicht was uns wirklich erwartet! Trotz Bewertungen sind wir sehr vorsichtig geworden - aber hier wurden wir sehr positiv überrascht!!! Tolles Ambiente, super freundliches Personal und wir haben auf einem Freitagabend ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und unaufdringlich! Das Essen sehr geschmackvoll, sehr fein abgeschmeckt und super tolle Kombinationen sowie auch die echte italienische Küche! Wir bedauern sehr das über 500 km zwischen diesem einzigartigen Restaurant und unserem zu Hause liegen!! Last night there were four of us in this great restaurant, super nice terrace, very attentive service, very tasty food, everything to the point. Despite the tables being almost completely occupied (inside and outside), there was no rush. We all felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. My companion and I had dinner in this restaurant today. Today the restaurant was open again for the second day, after 4 weeks of vacation! We first ordered snails with mushrooms in cream and 2 oysters. I have to admit that I was hungry and couldn't figure out what was wrong with the taste at first. The cream with wine and the mushrooms were very good, but when I tried the snails individually, if possible without any side dishes, I noticed that they tasted very sour and old. Simply inedible individually. The oysters weren't bad, but they had nothing in common with the fresh taste of the sea. (( The main course was lobster with pasta and spaghetti with clams and shrimp. Lobster tasted old and rubbery, like it was frozen 4 weeks ago and was now ready to serve. The cook tried to drown this out with excessive pepper Einsarz. Unfortunately we couldn't save the food. Unfortunately, the clams in the spaghetti were just old. I can't judge whether they were bad, and I didn't eat any more. The sauce was also inedible. We were offered to remake the food, which we understandably declined after this experience. A dessert was offered on the house, but unfortunately it never arrived. We were charged in full for the meal. I didn't eat the spaghetti at all and unfortunately my companion fought through half the plate. She has now laid down at home because she is unfortunately feeling sick. I'd rather not give a star at all! ⁸

My family's regular Italian for 20 years 🫶🏻☀️ Whether it's pasta, pesce or pizza - everything here tastes like it does in Bella Italia! The service is communicative, very friendly and accommodating. The terrace area is particularly beautiful in summer. The only downside are the loud motorcyclists who disturb Heidhausen and Werden with their extra loud engine roar. We always recommend Fine Seccolo as our regular Italian restaurant in Essen 🫶🏻

If you want to be completely full and happy, eat here. ❤️ My partner and I have eaten here several times and always had wonderful evenings. Now it's almost like visiting family. The welcome is always warm, the service quick and courteous. We have always received good advice, whether on the subject of wine or food. Even when the restaurant is full (which it almost always is), time is taken for our wishes. As a vegetarian, I am also approached with delicious ideas. Nothing is run of the mill here. Everything from the ambience, food and service is great and we spend lovely hours at Fine Secolo. From appetizers to dessert, I've tried a lot and so far everything is "terribly tasty"! If you don't leave here satisfied, it's probably your own fault. 😅 Thanks to the Maccarone family and the entire team for unforgettable evenings.

This evening the four of us visited the Italian Fine Secolo and sat outside in the nice weather. The terrace was spacious and well maintained, surrounded by some beautiful trees and plants which made a pleasant atmosphere. All four of us loved his food. We had a double portion of the mixed starter plate. The various starters were all very tasty. The quantities were just right for us as a starter. For my main course I had fettuccine with wild mushrooms in truffle cream sauce. The wild mushrooms were very fresh and sauce is creamy - delicious. It should also be mentioned that the service was very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our evening there and would definitely come back. Thank you!

Went there spontaneously by chance and were immediately captivated by everyone around us. Service was super friendly and accommodating. Do what they can, if nothing works, it's because it's so good there. Food, the best Italian restaurant we know. Simply perfect, pure Italy. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

Ambiance was good but the seating was a bit too cramped and the air quality was poor. Prices are justified. Overall I can only recommend the restaurant.8

I cannot believe that this place has less than 5 stars. The food is incredibly amazing!! Drool-worthy good. We drive for hours to eat here..... absolutely love it.

We were guests at Ristorante Fine Secolo for the first time last Saturday. The food was super tasty. As a starter we had carpaccio and a mixed starter platter. For the main course we had various pasta dishes including gnocci. For dessert we had a world class tiramisu. Our waitress was a bit chaotic but so charming that it didn't matter. The finale was crowned by two older gentlemen who played music. We will be back!

The quality of the food is excellent. Everyone in our large group of 17 people was satisfied - whether it was salad, pasta, pizza or meat. The kitchen managed to bring the 17 main dishes to the table at the same time - great recognition🙏. The resto was very, very well attended and yet there was no impression of being cramped. Grazie a tutti 👏

I don't actually have much to do with the internet but I had a wonderful evening. The veal cutlet in butter and sage as well as my wife's sea bream (whole or filleted upon request) tasted very good and we'll be happy to come back

A really great Italian. Service was first class. The food was incredibly great. Nothing was overly seasoned or even seasoned. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and made by hand. They cook there with love and passion. The atmosphere was really quaint. Great facility. I highly recommend it and I will be back very soon. Keep it up. ❤️

tolle Location mit Live Musik super Essen, gute Getränke ganz netter Chef und Mitarbeiter nicht ganz günstig

Leider extrem laut im Restaurant, viel zu viel Tische stehen hier auf zu engem Raum, fast alle waren heute belegt, wir konnten uns am 4er Tisch daher gar nicht verständlich unterhalten, ich hab ständig nichts verstanden, das hat mich super abgenervt. Service war aber freundlich, Essen hat auch gut geschmeckt, nur die Athmo war insgesamt überhaupt nicht meins. Furchtbar: bei all dem Lärm durfte sogar ein musikantenduo ins Restaurant um dort on top live rumzuträllern und danach in 3 (!) Runden mit dem Hut Geldspenden an jedem Tisch zu erbetteln. Geht gar nicht sowas, super unangenehm. Kein digestive aufs Haus trotz sehr hoher Rechnung

Allen zu empfehlen, die einen schönen Abend mit gutem Service erleben wollen.

Waren spontan zum Essen eingekehrt. Trotz vollem Haus wurde uns ein Platz fertig gemacht. Das Essen war sehr gut genau wie der Service. Der Rotwein war super.

Zu zweit dort gegessen, das ambiente war wirklich einladend, das Restaurant ist auch sehr schön gelegen. Die Bedienung war äußerst sympathisch, sehr zuvorkommend, er kannte sich mit den Speisen des Hauses sehr gut aus und konnte von daher sehr gut Empfehlen. Preis Leistung ist auf alle Fälle gerechtfertigt. Auch von der Hygiene im Restaurant war ich begeistert. Eine Empfehlung auf jeden Fall wert.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend ,mit unserer Familie und all unseren Freunden.Das Essen war wie immer erstklassig und die Fachkräfte sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend,auch kleine Engpässe ( Regen ) haben sie sehr gut gelöst. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß, trotz der Hitze.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 20 Personen und hatten im Vorfeld schon die Hauptspeisenbestellt, die alle sehr, sehr gut waren. Wir hatten leckere Pasta Gerichte und auch leckere Fleischgerichte. Zum Beispiel Rinderfilet mit Pfifferlingen Lammkarree, Lammkoteletts. Wir saßen bei gutem Wetter draußen im Biergarten. Obwohl wir eine große Gruppe waren, wurden die Hauptspeisen gleichzeitig geliefert. Die Weine waren auch sehr gut. Es gab Luganer und Pino. Grigio der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Das Ambiente im Innenbereich ist auch sehr sehr schön. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

Immer wieder gerne, alles sehr lecker. Im Sommer das Essen auf der Terrasse genießen einfach herrlich. Egal ob Pasta, Fisch oder Fleisch, wir sind noch nie enttäuscht worden .

Einfach alles hat gepasst. Wir waren heute im Garten und haben im Schatten der Bäume gemütlich unsere hervorragende Pizza gegessen. Unserem Hund wurde ohne Aufforderung kaltes Wasser gebracht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden diesen Sommer wohl häufiger hier sein.

Ein wunderbares italienisches Restaurant. Zwar etwas hohe Preise, aber es lohnt sich definitiv. Das Essen ist hervorragend (das Tiramisu ist ein Gedicht) ebenso wie der Service.

Beautiful place with amazing food. We absolutely adored the snail appetizer and the rest of the food was also expertly and lovingly prepared and plated. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. There is a cozy inside section as well as a lovely garden sitting in front that's separated from the street with a high hedge. They also offer the option to pack your food for home if you don't eat all of it and it was still delicious even afterwards. It was our second time visiting and will not be the last.

Gutes Essen alles frisch. Fisch, Schalentiere ganz erforragend, persönliche Ansprache, gute Weine.

Interessante Tageskarte aber recht hochpreisig. Die Pasta Gerichte der normalen Karte wirkten beim Lesen ein bisschen langweilig. Die Pasta der Tageskarte war aber super (vongole mit Scampi) Sepia vom Grill auch ausgezeichnet zubereitet. Pizza war auch ganz gut aber ein Besuch lohnt mehr für die übrigen Gerichte. Service nett und unkompliziert. Ambiente bisschen altbacken aber man fühlt sich insgesamt wohl.

Sehr schönes Ambiente und freundliches Personal. Über eine Stunde auf Vorspeise gewartet und beim Hauptgang war eine Pizza verbrannt.(Brauchte nicht bezahlt werden und Alternative wurde vom Chef angeboten Geschmacklich war es ein normales Niveau und kein Highlight .
