It's a very authentic Italian restaurant, run by real Italians. Great service, delicious food with changing seasonal menus, and overall fair prices. They even offer a complimentary after-dinner drink 😉 All in all, two thumbs up 👍👍

Been there three times and both times I was completely impressed! The food is super delicious, with great creations and even dishes I haven't tried before. But the classics are also great.

The best Italian restaurant in the area. The Ristorante del Salento impresses all around – with authentic cuisine, fresh ingredients, and incredibly friendly service. Every dish tastes like a piece of Italy: whether pasta, pizza, or fish – everything is perfectly prepared. The cozy ambiance completes the experience. Anyone who loves good Italian food should definitely come here!

Lasagna warmed up and ice cold in the middle.

We had pizza here a month ago, and I can say it's the best Italian restaurant in Elmshorn, and maybe even the surrounding area, so far. The crust was so crispy and fluffy 😍😍 We had olives before, which were also delicious (even though I don't usually eat green olives, I ate almost the whole bowl). We'll definitely be back 😍 There are better places... but that's a matter of taste.

We've been to this restaurant twice already, and you can tell they're truly authentic Italians. The quality is truly excellent, the food is always beautifully presented and tastes fantastic! A real compliment to the Salento team. We'd love to come back.

We've been to this restaurant several times now, and we've enjoyed it every time. Without exaggeration, it's probably the best Italian restaurant in Elmshorn and the surrounding area. The food and drinks are always very good, and the selection is just as good. In addition to the "regular" menu, a board with the daily specials is always brought to the table and set up, making the choice even more difficult. We have to warn you about the pizza bread (starter). The bread and its accompanying dips are delicious, and it's difficult to stop in time to make time for the main course (a challenge even for two people). The staff are always friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this restaurant and love coming there.

Unfortunately, it wasn't what it was... I came back after a long time because of fond memories - unfortunately, I wasn't impressed from start to finish. A shame. The waiter's reaction to polite criticism was that I couldn't be satisfied anyway - when asked for the bill, we should go up front. ...

Very tasty food and a nice atmosphere

It was our first time there. It's always a surprise to see what the food will taste like. We really enjoyed it!👌. The spaghetti carbonara was presented in a completely different way. Pasta al dente, crispy fried bacon, and visibly folded into the pasta dish, not drowned in an ice cream sauce. Garnished with Parmesan flakes. Excellent. Prompt and friendly service. The only drawback: the very noisy traffic at the roundabout. We sat outside. But that was also due to rush hour. We'll remember that Italian restaurant, great!

BEST ITALIAN - by far!! I don't even know where to start. This is the best dish I've had in a long time. The combination of everything, especially the sauce, was a flavor explosion. I didn't want to keep eating, lest it end. Many thanks to chef Luigi for his effort and the love he put into this dish. Please try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

THE BEST ITALIAN!!!! I was truly impressed – it was by far my best Italian experience. The food was incredibly delicious, the staff incredibly friendly, and you just feel completely at home. The chef is so welcoming – you can tell the food is cooked with love. I'll definitely be back! P.S. I'll be coming back here again and again from Hamburg – it's simply worth it!

Here you'll find delicious Italian cuisine! Unusual and exquisite daily menus are also regularly offered. Excellent and attentive service staff. Even when catering to larger groups, everything works perfectly and tastes excellent. In the summer months, the restaurant is very spacious thanks to a cozy covered outdoor area. Highly recommended.

A lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly, attentive service. The decor is a matter of taste. An Italian-run restaurant with pictures in English on the wall is a clash of styles. Almost everyone enjoyed the food. There are only two vegetarian pizzas. Otherwise, everything Italian cuisine has to offer. I liked it.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed last night. Our table reservation was forgotten. The two of us were then reluctantly seated at a large table. Other guests who came after us were served before us. Everything took a very long time and we felt pretty neglected. In addition, the portions of the risotto were quite manageable. For the price it could have been a little more. It's a shame, hopefully that was just an exception.

Good Italian with a little twist. Very nice: When I asked, I got an almost real carbonara (bacon instead of guanciale) instead of this cream stuff. Was very good! Not nice: Tiramisu for 7.50. Instead of mascarpone with cream. It wasn't tasty and the price was too expensive. But the ambience and service were great.

We were at the restaurant at 6 p.m. on a Sunday. We were served quickly and always very courteously even though the restaurant was really full. The prices are normal and in my opinion totally justified. The food is super tasty and the portions are sufficient. We felt comfortable and will come back.

The food takes way too long and it tastes like vomit

Unfortunately, it took quite a long time until we got a seat, even though we had reserved. As an excuse, there was also a large bedside table top. This is how good service works! The food was fantastic without exception!

Ordered more than in time to pick up and then you stand there for 25 minutes waiting for your food? It wasn't the first time, but it will be the last time! No apology, no price reduction and no drink or anything similar offered, so service was an absolute 6! 2 stars because the food at least tastes good!

A few weeks ago I celebrated my wedding in Elmshorn and the evening before, relatively spontaneously, I got “a table” for 30 people. We were very happy to have found something suitable where we could all fit. The atmosphere is very inviting and cozy and I have rarely eaten such good Italian food as I did at Ristorante del Salento. Our guests were all extremely enthusiastic too. Unfortunately, we all come from Berlin and therefore most likely won't (or won't be able to) come back, but we can only warmly recommend this restaurant! We had a wonderful time here.

A charming place, with very attentive and professional workers. I had a Napoli pizza that was very good. They served me an amaretto at the end. Recommendable.

Although we are now regular guests, the food enchants us every time. Here you can feel the chef's love of detail, you can see how the food is consciously selected and you can enjoy the expert processing with attention to decorative details. And that hasn't let up over many years. Always a pleasure that makes you wonder that we are in Elmshorn and not in the big city of Hamburg, although it would still exist there too.

I love this restaurant. Great atmosphere here and you have to try the food yourself to be able to describe it. Even in Italy we didn't eat as incredibly well as we did here. And at a fair price too! We always enjoy coming back. Thank you and please continue like this.

Very, very good Italian cuisine. Great in taste. Super nice staff. We recommend.

Last year: ordered a starter and it didn't come. Ordered the main course - it came, but not what I had ordered. This year at Easter: Relatively loud atmosphere, cozy but loud. Food: Ordered a steak for €28. It was not asked whether medium or through. It came partly bleeding (not my favorite), there was no salad, the steak was “flooded” with sauce, there was a piece of broccoli, four slices of carrot and 5 small potatoes on the plate – absolutely monotonous for me. Other restaurants can do steak better. My wife's Pizza Margherita: In the middle of the pizza was a really unappetizing looking "ball" mixed from soft, raw pizza dough and the components of a Pizza Margherita. At the end, the person sitting next to me had a snail in his salad. I only felt sorry for this one because it most likely ended up in the trash with the salad. There was no excuse for this until the time of payment. The restaurant has a good reputation in Elmshorn. This is incomprehensible to me because of my repeated bad experiences.

For me the best Italian in Elmshorn and the surrounding area. Here you can also order blindly from the menu or from the table and it always tastes perfect. The open wines are also highly recommended.

A very exclusive restaurant. The food is of a very high quality. However, you shouldn't go there too hungry. The portions are, let's say, "clear". The prices are commensurate with the service/quality when it comes to the food. Drinks within the normal range. A very popular restaurant. However, we also found it to be quite loud, so that it was sometimes difficult for the four of us to have a conversation at the table. It may be that it is not normal and was only like that on the day we visited.

Didn't end up there specifically, just wanted to eat Italian. Nice reception, managed to get a table despite the restaurant being full. The starter was so generous that it would have been enough for three. Nice waitress who said our guests should go home full. Main course lasagna, very good but way too much. Food was supposed to be packed, but unfortunately it was forgotten, but we were then given a new portion. We were definitely not there for the last time. A drink was also offered with the bill. Thank you for the very nice stay with you.

Very cute, traditional Italian restaurant with a great menu. The price-performance ratio was absolutely right and the food was really excellent. We chose the truffle menu and were not disappointed. However, the pizzas also looked very recommendable. We will definitely come more often!

Hands down the best truffle pasta in northern Germany. I tried many in Hamburg city and still prefer to travel all the way to elmshorn to eat truffle pasta there.

It was really tasty again. Staff friendly despite heavy workload. We highly recommend the Lambrusco, which really has nothing to do with what we used to drag from the supermarket in magnum bottles. I strongly recommend making a reservation; spontaneous guests will have to accept longer waiting times. There was the starter plate, lamb fillets wrapped in bacon and finally a cappuccino and a limoncello. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert.

Das Essen war gut, nichts besonderes aber lecker. Der Service war leider nicht so gut, die Belegung war mit einem vollen Restaurant (was sie wahrscheinlich regelmäßig haben) überfordert. Sie haben Sachen vergessen, waren kurz angebunden und sichtlich gestresst. Wir haben uns mehr erhofft, das Restaurant wurde uns zuvor regelmäßig empfohlen.

Großartiger Italiener mit tollem herzlichen Personal. Viele italienische Klassiker, handwerklich sehr gut gekocht und ansprechend angerichtet.

Liegt zwar an einer befahrenen Straße, aber drinne war es total ruhig.

Unser erster Besuch bei diesem Italiener und leider auch der letzte. Vorweg muss man sagen, dass das Ambiente wirklich sehr gemütlich und rustikal ist. Wie es sich für ein Italiener gehört. Es gibt zwar wenige direkten Parkplätze aber durch die Wirtschaftsakademie vor Ort findet man auch dort Platz. Die Preise sind sehr moderat und die Auswahl an Speisen von Pasta, Pizza und Co. groß. Die Anrichtung aller Gerichte war sehr gut und optisch ansprechend. Wir hatten zwei Vorspeisen die gut waren. Leider hatten wir bei einen der beiden Hauptgängen nicht so viel Glück. Das Rumpsteak sollte Medium sein und war eher medium rare bis roh. Dadurch war es leider nicht genießbar. Wobei der zweite Hauptgang mit den Nudeln ein Traum war. Es kann immer mal vorkommen, gerade bei Fleisch, dass das Stück Fleisch selber sehr sehnig ist oder einfach noch nicht ganz durch. Das Problem war dann aber die Reaktion vom Kellner / Chef?! Auf Rückfragen ob es denn geschmeckt hat, haben wir ehrlich geantwortet und mitgeteilt das jenes Gericht nicht gut war. Zum einen kam außer ein hmm aha keine weitere Reaktionen und zum anderen wurden wir mit muffeligen Nichtbeachtung bedacht. Es wurde nicht gefragt ob wir noch Nachtisch haben wollen oder ob es noch was zu trinken sein soll. Die Rechnung mussten wir dann vorne einfordern, da der Blick zu uns nicht mehr vorhanden war. Ich finde es immer schade das man sich gleich angegriffen fühlt wenn man seine ehrliche Meinung zu einer Frage der erbrachten Dienstleistung mitteilt. Seit doch bitte professionell und mit Charme eine Entschuldigung vorbringen / Dessert aufs Haus oder was auch immer. Aber bitte nicht beleidigte Nichtbeachtung. So bekommt man direkt Lust nicht wieder zu kommen.

Fantastisches Essen! Nicht nur der Gaumen wird verwöhnt, auch das Auge. Sehr nette Bedienung und sehr gemütliche Räumlichkeiten. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Sehr leckeres Essen in angenehmem Ambiente. Ein Stern Abzug für den unfreundlichen Kellner, der vielleicht nur einen schlechten Tag hatte, aber so nicht gegenüber Gästen auftreten darf. Der Ton ging gar nicht.

Sehr gutes Essen für meinen Geschmack jedenfalls. Location ist ok leider ist die Terrasse sehr dicht an der Straße und dadurch stört der Straßenlärm ein wenig.

Ich fühle mich im Salento sehr wohl und das Essen war bisher immer sehr lecker. Außerdem wurde ich vom Personal, anhand meines Geburtstages sehr nett verwöhnt.

Großartiges Restaurant. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Alles in Allem ein gutes Gefühl. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert und als wir ankamen, war kein Tisch frei. Oh je, dachten wir zunächst, aber mit einem Glas Prosecco in der Hand (natürlich auf Kosten des Hauses) wurden wir gebeten "kurz zu warten". Schließlich brachte man uns zu unserem Tisch und neben der Speisekarte wurde uns noch eine Tafel mit den "aktuellen Tagesgerichten" präsentiert (man kann das lesen, was da steht - nur mal so als Anmerkung für die "Kritiker" hier). Ziemlich zügig ging es dann weiter - Getränkewunsch? Schon entschieden? - und das obwohl es ziemlich voll war. ... Kürzen wir ab: die servierten Gerichte waren lecker, ausreichend portioniert und den Preis (4 Pers. ca. 130 EUR) wert. Also zurück zur Überschrift: "Alles in Allem ein gutes Gefühl."
