Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie hier essen und sind begeistert. Das Essen war köstlich, die Preise absolut fair und das Servicepersonal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Klare Weiterempfehlung! Eines der besten Restaurants in Essen die wir kennen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und es gibt eine große Auswahl von Pasta, Pizza, Meeresfrüchte und auch Fleischgerichte. Das Highlight war aber der Besitzer selbst.

Even though the portions are a bit smaller, the taste is convincing across the board. Quality over quantity! Anyone who loves Italian food should definitely stop by here. We'll definitely be back.

We had the house mixed starter plate and for the main course the sole and lamb fillet with red wine sauce. A pizza for the little one. The wine recommendation was great too! We found everything to be very high quality. It tastes very, very tasty. The service is genuinely friendly and attentive. Very pleasant. The service here included olives, pepperoni with pizza rolls and butter free as a greeting from the kitchen. Great value for money. You can easily park directly in front of the entrance. I have known Dal Passatore since I was born in 1980 and was looked after by the kitchen staff back then so that my parents could enjoy their food in peace. We also still maintain contact with the former owner, who has lived in Italy for a long time, at that time the restaurant was opened handed over to the chef and the head waiter, but both have been abroad again for a few years, but the current owner has left almost all the recipes as they have been for decades, perhaps a few changes, but the food is still excellent and so are the wines are appealing. The prices are reasonable - it is a restaurant and not a pizzeria (another visitor wrote that the prices are too high),

Children's salami pizza for €13 Carpaccio just as tiny and not tasty. Tiramisu with some cream stuff, definitely bought and not tasty. Got a double espresso with the amount for a single espresso, cheeky 👎👎👎👎👎 Very unfriendly "waiter" who pointed out the daily menu, but then only listed dishes from the normal menu... Regular guests were looked after in a friendly manner... No, you don't have to go there... 🤬🤬🤬

We have been eating here on various occasions for years and have never regretted it. Good personal service, freshly prepared food and a very good selection of drinks. The highlight is the current daily menu with special recommendations from the kitchen. Advice is excellent and every wish is fulfilled. Just try it out, you won't regret it.

The food was mediocre with normal sized portions. I ordered a pizza mare. This was changed by the waiter without explanation because another one would be “better”. Overall, I have eaten Italian food with more creativity when choosing dishes. The worst thing, however, were the waiter's sayings and manner. It takes a lot of getting used to and some of it comes from a different time. The atmosphere is very pleasant but the parking spaces are very limited.

The food was average at best and too expensive. The service (presumably the owner himself) was extremely pushy with his comments. He kept standing at our table and saying something. Even our annoyed looks and lack of reactions didn't stop him. I've really never experienced anything like that. So no recommendation from me.

Starters were quite good but nothing special. Main courses were a bit disappointing. Price/performance isn't quite right. I would call the cuisine "Italian inspired" but it actually doesn't have much to do with Italian cuisine. I wouldn't go there again. Restaurant is a bit old and seems quite old-fashioned.

The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't really impress us. It tasted very ordinary. The starter was OK. The pasta was rather tasteless, you really had to add a lot of salt to at least have some taste. The pizza was rather average. The dessert (Tartufo), on the other hand, was convincing. Overall, however, the food lacks something special. There probably won't be a repeat.

Stopped there by chance at lunchtime after an appointment and was very pleasantly surprised. From the outside, the functional building exudes the charm of bygone, better times. The interior is more reminiscent of an old German restaurant (which it probably once was) than an Italian restaurant. Nevertheless, I felt very comfortable. This was not least due to the attentive and funny manner of the waiter. The crispy and fluffy pizza rolls that came with herb butter, green and black olives and pepperoni (and plenty of everything) made me look forward to the pizza. And I was not disappointed. The pizza was crispy, very well topped and very seasoned. If I'm ever in Essen again, I'd be happy to come back here.

Essen ohne Geschmack, Pizza ohne Zutaten (Majoran, Basilikum...), Cannelloni zu trocken, irgendwie eine Masse, Lasagne, dasselbe. Ich liebe italienische Küche, aber hier war keiner die irgendwie kochen könnte. Wir sprechen von ein italienisches Restaurant wo man gewöhnt ist Zutaten zu schmecken, zusätzlich meine Meinung nach zu teuer. Insgesamt kann ich diesen Restaurant nicht empfehlen.

Wir hatten die Lasagne und den Kabeljau. Beides war wirklich frisch und sehr lecker. Besonders die Lasagne hat uns sehr geschmeckt! Kann man wirklich empfehlen.

Ich habe hier mit meiner Familie zu Abend gegessen. Das Ambiente ist schön und gemütlich, das Personal außergewöhnlich sympathisch! Die Antipasti Spezial war liebevoll angerichtet und super lecker! Auch die Hauptspeisen und das Dessert sind qualitativ als auch geschmacklich exzellent. Wer gerne italienisches Essen genießt kommt hier voll und ganz auf seine Kosten!
