Ristorante da Portofino in Nordhorn

As always, the steaks at Ristorante da Portofino are very good. For me, it's the first place to go when I want to eat steak.

No reservation, no entry. No interest in walk-ins. Not good at all!

A great restaurant. Very cozy, good menu, friendly service, and everything very clean. Highly recommended.

We knew the restaurant from relatives, but were disappointed. Twice upon entering, we felt unwelcome. The restaurant was very empty. First, we were rudely asked to leave a table that wasn't marked "reserved." After other groups were shown to tables, the waiter offered us only an hour at another table. So we went elsewhere.

After many years, our path led us back to Portofino – and it couldn't have been more wonderful. From the oven-fresh bread with aromatic salsa to the excellent pasta and full-bodied espresso, every course was a delight. The value for money was also impressive, and the attentive, courteous service contributed significantly to an all-round successful evening. We would like to thank you very much for this wonderful experience and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Simply fantastic! The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance that immediately makes you feel at home. The food was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. Great restaurant, unfortunately had to do takeout because of a dog. They couldn't reach us by phone, but upon arrival at the restaurant, we were helped promptly and had a delicious meal at home.

We were there with a large group of work colleagues. The service was super friendly and accommodating. Despite the large number of guests in the restaurant, the food for our group came all at once. This meant everyone could really eat together. The food was very tasty and of good quality. My lasagna was extremely tasty and the portion was absolutely sufficient. The ambiance was nice and felt very new and fresh. I highly recommend this place for Italian food.

The service is prompt and welcoming, although drinks can sometimes take a little longer to arrive on busy evenings. The prices are reasonable for the quality you receive. All in all, Ristorante da Portofino is a great place to enjoy Italian cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for a night out with friends or a cozy dinner with family.

It was our first time there. The setting was super kid-friendly; our child got a special bear-shaped pizza. Drinks and food came quickly and were perfectly reasonable prices. We'd love to come back.

I ate with my family in this beautiful restaurant, and I must say that it is always a success. We ate an excellent fillet and spaghetti with mussels very good, the staff very attentive and kind I felt in Italy. I recommend everyone to try it. The best in all of Nordhorn

We've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious. Everything is fresh, well-prepared, and perfectly presented. Yesterday, four of us were there for lunch. Three generations, four different dishes (meat, fish, and, of course, pasta dishes). We were all very satisfied and look forward to our next visit. Keep up the good work and stay with us for a long time.

Three disappointments...that's it. 1. Well-done sirloin steak. Tough. 2. Despite an early reservation, the table was in the corner by the restroom entrance. 3. Extremely long wait to order food. Received the wrong dishes. A new one came very quickly with raw fish. Not a word of apology. However, the manager had plenty of time to chat with regulars. We left as guests.

There were six of us there on a Thursday evening. The drinks came promptly. But after that? No waiter there. After asking, a waiter came - but ordering food was only possible after 30 minutes. And then they gave three people the wrong food. It was practically "forced" on them. Two people took the food they didn't order. One insisted on her order. It came - but the prawn was still raw inside!!! That's not right. So back again. In conclusion, no apology - NOTHING!! NEVER AGAIN!!

The pasta tasted so disgusting. I asked for "aglio olio," and it tasted like BBQ. The chef showed no leniency. "The chef did everything as usual." Well, then he did a few things wrong, and he seems to always do things wrong. I've never had such bad pasta, and I eat Italian food quite often. La Gondola across the street tastes worlds better. Not recommended!

An all-around perfect experience! I've been to this restaurant several times and I'm absolutely thrilled every time. The food is truly delicious and prepared with great attention to detail. The house recommendations are also always spot on – you can tell that the team really knows what good food is and is passionate about it. The service is excellent: attentive, warm, and yet absolutely professional. You feel completely comfortable and welcome.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant by chance because another one was very inflexible in allocating a table to only two people. I can only say, "luckily." The friendly service, hospitality, and selection of food and drinks are second to none. We naturally returned the following day and felt very comfortable. On our next visit to Nordhorn, we know where we'll eat again. Italian hospitality is truly lived here.

Great restaurant, the food was delicious and plentiful. Service was poor, and they charged extra for the packaging, which I find outrageous.

Just to our liking. The tables were all invitingly set, the staff were very cheerful and friendly, and the service was top-notch! The appetizer platter was very well-chosen and very tasty; the main course not only came with new cutlery, but also new napkins! The main course was also very tasty, nothing over-seasoned; only a few more toasted pine nuts would have given the Toscana linguini the finishing touch! If we're ever in Nordhorn again, we'll be happy to visit Portofino.

Beautiful restaurant, but the service was too fast. We just finished our soup, and there was the pizza. We felled so stuffed. The servers were friendly and accommodating. Pizza was tasty but not very flavorful.

When we arrived in Nordhorn beyond all planning, we looked for an Italian restaurant for dinner and found “Portofino” online. Despite the slightly whining dog (injured, vet visit), we were apparently welcome and received excellent service. Rigatoni al Pomodori and Spaghetti Aglio Olio (special, with olives, capers and Gamberetti) along with wines were perfect, served very quickly and reasonably priced. Nice Italian atmosphere and nice people. After the delicious meal, everyone felt better! Gracie mille! 😀👋🐾

The first time here and we are thrilled, service was quick and friendly, food was a smooth one, we each had 2 bruschettas and a Hawaiian and a Toscana pizza, luckily for me there were also two wheat 😄

A real piece of Italy in Nordhorn – simply fantastic! We went to Ristorante da Portofino and had an absolutely perfect evening. The antipasti starter was a real highlight: rich, lovingly prepared and full of flavor. You can immediately tell that the emphasis here is on fresh ingredients and authentic preparation. The rest of the food was also simply the finest - whether pasta, meat or fish, everything was on point and full of Italian flavors. Add a good beer and the cozy atmosphere – you couldn’t ask for more! Particularly noteworthy is the warm and attentive service. You feel welcome, almost like you are staying with good friends. A big thank you to the whole team – we are already looking forward to the next visit!

I ate there yesterday and it was one of the best Italian restaurants I tried in Nordhorn. The service was 10/10, the food was so good and the staff were all nice and helpful. I would definitely come here again if I return to Germany

We went on Monday to eat fish and meat as always delicious with my friends and the excellent service and beautiful surroundings and we will see you again soon.

Food good, service good, prices good, everything good. I was particularly happy when I could suddenly hear the US metal band Sleep Token as background sound. Unfortunately, when the song picked up speed after a quiet beginning, the service switched to Al Bano & Romina Power and co. Probably better suited to an Italian restaurant, but I was still very happy to have heard Sleep Token at least for a short period of three to four minutes ;-)

The pizza was tasty, as was the salmon pasta and pizza bread with garlic sauce. Big misses were the mozzarella with tomato and tiramisu. Tasteless. The tiramisu in a glass in particular is a disappointment. Burying a bite of really tasteless tiramisu under a glass of whipped cream for €7.60 is rude. Very unfortunate. The service is friendly and fast, the main courses are excellent and the restaurant looks good. So if some attention were paid to these simple dishes, the score would be a lot higher.

We had lunch, tagliatelle with salmon, with soup or salad for lunch. The salmon was on point and the salad was lush. All you can do is give it all thumbs up. We would be happy to come back.

We ate at this Italian restaurant, we didn't have a reservation and although the place was very busy the chef had us set up a very welcoming space in a few minutes we ate appetizers and two mixed fish dishes a pizza and a steak and any dish that pleased us was served with the mind sent us to Italy very polite and friendly service the best restaurant in Nordhorn highly recommended we will definitely come back

Wow! Everything is right here - top marks! Very courteous and friendly service. I had the fish platter for €33. Not particularly cheap - I thought, but took it anyway. I was royally rewarded for this. This variety of grilled seafood and fish is absolutely worth the price. 2 large prawns, mussels, pulp, salmon fillet, zander and another white-fleshed fish (perch?). It's been a long time since I've had fish as good as on this plate! I don't normally eat mussels, but these were delicious! The salmon was on point and still slightly translucent on the inside, so perfectly cooked. The prawns were also really good. Cross grilled and with garlic - delicious! The squid was grilled very tenderly - you often chew it like rubber - perfectly done here! Really well seasoned with garlic and sea salt on everything and grilled cross! The accompanying spaghetti aglio e olio is also al dente and very tasty. The salad was also good, no yoghurt/oil-aceto-balsamic dressing, but handmade Caesar-style dressing. Unconditional recommendation. I also heard great praise from the neighboring tables.

We had not made a reservation and it was very busy, but we were allowed to sit at the bar and a table became available a little later. Fortunately, because we haven't had such delicious Italian food in a long time. Delicious. Staff also very friendly. It is that it is a 3-hour drive from home, but otherwise... Definitely worth it. We often go to Portofino, it tastes great and the service team is friendly. The Ristorante da Portofino is one of my recommendations in Nordhorn.

It was really a wonderful evening... a more than excellent meal. Excellent. If going out to eat can still surprise you... wonderful. Operation and service are also great. That's how eating out works and that's how it's fun. We'd love to come back.

Very nice atmosphere, nice staff and delicious food. We were in Nordhorn with friends for a few days and after eating there on the first evening we reserved a table for the next evening. Pasta and meat dishes are highly recommended

Fortunately, we were able to eat with 2 people today without a reservation. We were lucky because everything was full. The chicken with gorgonzola sauce and penne was really excellent! What a delicious meal this was! I thought the pasta with chicken in tomato sauce was a little less special. Tiramisu afterwards was also tasty. The atmosphere is super cozy, the prices are accessible and the service is also very nice. One downside: I thought it was a shame that dogs were allowed inside. Coincidentally, we were sitting in a place where 3 tables around us all had brought a dog. I like to come to a restaurant to eat quietly, but I don't like that the food was being looked at from my plate by the animals and that a dog was constantly walking to our table, sniffing. (the dogs can't do anything about it, the owners can, with a little decency you don't take a pet into a restaurant.) In any case, we will hopefully come back again when we are in Nordhorn. We also want to try the mittagstisch. Thank you dear people!

A really attractive restaurant with friendly service. I would have even given the great starters 5 stars, but the main courses were only averagely good and were unfortunately served (4 adults and 4 children) with a significant delay. Therefore only 4 stars for the otherwise very friendly service... Still a clear recommendation!

Very diverse selection of food and drinks. The atmosphere is very nice and rustic with lots of wooden elements. The employees are friendly. The order was delivered after a short time. The dishes are beautifully presented and taste delicious. I can absolutely recommend it.

Even though we had not made a reservation, we were still able to get a table. Drinks were taken almost immediately. However, it took at least 30 minutes (probably because it was very busy). Before the waiter realized that we wanted to order our food. But okey the food made up for it. We didn't want fried potatoes but pasta, this was no problem. A delicious tender steak with champions sauce. And my table companion large prawns. Both very good and very large portions. Friendly service and a beautiful restaurant.

Service was extremely overwhelmed; it took more than 30 minutes just to be able to order the food. It took another 45 minutes for the food to be served, but one meal was forgotten. This may be because the operator is interested in handling maximum numbers of guests with minimal staffing levels and customer loyalty is not a factor.

A good Italian restaurant, friendly staff and very good dishes. The salsa is recommended as a starter. But everything the memory card produces is recommended. But too much to test in one visit. The best thing is to try it out in several visits 🥲. The prices are reasonable. For me the best Italian restaurant in Nordhorn and is worth a visit.

wir hatten für neun Personen reserviert. uns wurde von den Mitarbeitern ein Tisch zugewiesen. kaum saßen wir, hieß es, wir müssten den Tisch wieder verlassen. es wäre ein Irrtum. Unser Tisch sei im Obergeschoss. Angeblich wäre oben ein großer langer Tisch. Unten waren es zwei zusammengeschobene. Die würden für zwei Reservierungen benötigt. Oben angekommen, zeigte es sich, dass es nicht stimmte. Auch hier zwei Tisch, die zusammengeschoben wurden. Vielleicht mussten wir unten Platz machen für Freunde oder … Das Essen war von mäßig bis durchschnittlich.

We had a reservation for 9 people and had already been seated at the table that had been assigned to us. We were then "relocated" to the upper floor in a really rude manner with stupid excuses because other people should definitely have our table. Impossible!!! And never go to this store again!

Spontaneous stopover in Nordhorn for lunch. It was worth it.

Tasty pizzas, the toilets were clean and the service (staff) was friendly, only the Pepsi €5.20 and the menu said €3.50. We were not allowed to sit inside, while other people were allowed to and the restaurant was far from full.

The service was unsatisfactory, and the waitress seemed unable to handle stress well. Communication was somewhat blunt. Additionally, the food was overly salty; I had to drink a lot of tea and water at home to compensate.

We had the pleasure of eating here yesterday. The service was good and the food was great too! Personally I had the Minestrone soup, the Pizza Bella and some Bruschetta. All of them tasted good and fresh. Would reccomend!
