Perfect and very sweet... Everything tasted great...

A wonderful end to the evening was a visit to an Italian restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing, it was exactly what I wanted!!! The person who served us was just incredibly polite and pleasant. The atmosphere in the hall is very calm and romantic. It's a shame that you can only give 5 stars, you deserve more

good Italian restaurant in the center of Heidelberg. With a balcony and awning, so you can sit outside even on sunny days. Inside it is also very classic and beautifully decorated. The food is tasty, the waiters are friendly.

My partner and I were there for the first time. - Pleasant and welcoming atmosphere - Service: Is top. People often came by and asked us if everything was okay. Orders also arrived at our table relatively quickly - Food: The Caprese pizza is an absolute recommendation (I generally assume that every pizza tastes “very good”). Fresh, tasty, the base is thin but not too thin, the tomato sauce is hearty and the cheese is high quality. 5/5 Da Mario ends up in my top 3 restaurants in Heidelberg where I order pizza.

Typical Italian canteen, huge portions, low quality products. Mozzarella has no taste, pasta floats in water, shrimp are halved. It's stuffy. My stomach said hello to me after dinner.

I was here with my family and we received a very warm welcome. We were allowed to choose a table. The staff was attentive. The order didn't take long. In my case I ordered the porcini mushroom risotto. It tasted very good. Absolutely recommended in everything! Many thanks to the whole team!

I didnt expect to find in sich a small place,a second floor with this restaurant which has extremely warm and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is large and the food is delicious. My friend's pasta was a rather manageable portion. My schnitzel really big. The waiters are attentive but not very welcoming. Special requests due to intolerances were taken into account. But one thing left us a little speechless. I wanted to take my leftovers with me because I don't like wasting food and at the end I saw on the bill that I was actually charged 0.50 euros for a simple alluvium tray and a thin plastic bag! I've never experienced anything like that. Instead of being happy that they don't have to throw anything away, as a guest you have to pay for a cardboard bowl. I find that outrageous and not good service.

The restaurant is very elegant and beautiful. The dishes come with good portions and everything is very tasty. The food came super quickly and the waiters were very attentive.

The food was good. Unfortunately, the behavior of a waiter who took our order was not normal and behaved rudely towards me. I was there at 8:30 p.m. with my 2 girlfriends, we ordered 3 spaghetti and when I wanted to drink I wanted a warm drink and he suggested tea, then I asked what kind of tea was available here, he told me in a loud voice what I didn't like I think it's okay, as a guest I have the right to know what's available and what's not. Please, dear Lord, show a smile, it's important! You can keep Watching Bloody at home with you.

Very nice restaurant in Art Nouveau style. I felt very comfortable there. Great Aperol Spritz. The food was also perfect - BUT: I specifically asked for it to be lactose free (had the starter plate). I would have ordered Vitello Tonnato but was told it wasn't lactose free. I can eat most cheese, but not milk or cream. The appetizer plate came and there was something in a sauce on it that seemed suspicious to me. I asked the waitress (who was very nice, by the way) what exactly it was, but she couldn't give me any precise information. Of course, since I'm highly lactose intolerant, I didn't eat it. Instead I was kindly given a discount and given extra bread. That was nice, but you should still know exactly what ingredients are in the dishes in a restaurant (actually in EVERY restaurant). Therefore only 4 stars.

Nice restaurant and fast and efficient service. I had a gnocchi dish (around €19) but it was much too salty for my taste. The pizza ingredients didn't look top quality either. However, the kitchen is open continuously until 11:00 p.m., so it’s convenient if you can’t find anything else. Be careful with armchairs and strollers: you have to go up a very tight escalator and there are also one or two steps in the restaurant so not suitable.

It is on the second floor, with escalators to go up, very good decoration and good service, excellent food, very quiet atmosphere, I would repeat without hesitation.

Food was good, service unfortunately very bad and has no interest in finding COMPROMISES when it comes to complaints. Unfortunately, if you ordered the daily menu, you didn't get any dessert or coffee as is usual with the daily menu. But I was charged for my milk coffee.

Beautiful place, food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We had a waiter (a man) who wasn't exactly friendly towards us, which ruined our experience. It was hard to ignore his bad attitude, interrupting when we speak, ignoring the needs of our 2 year old toddler. I don't recommend coming here with kids.

The location is very central, right in the center of Heidelberg, and is easy to reach by public transport. Good selection of delicious food, enough vegetarian options too. Price-performance ratio is right, preparation in a reasonable time frame, beautifully presented and tasty and the ambience is very pleasant. We were satisfied.

Last year, they offered gluten-free pasta and meat with gluten-free sauces. Now it’s just dry meat or salad. Disappointing.

We all had to season our food. Service was too weak

I was really disappointed this evening. Pizza not like before, waitress forgot the order several times. I used to eat there very often, even with groups, but we won't be visiting Da Mario anymore. The menu has also changed for the worse compared to before. Maybe it's because the Italian owner sold the place to someone who wasn't Italian. If the food and service are no longer good, new floors and chairs are irrelevant.

Lasagna with vegetables was great. Pizza dough was too thin for my husband, but that's a matter of taste. Service was friendly and quick. Furnishings ok, I didn't find artificial flowers that nice.

Minestrone without Tomato, Tiramisu with different fruits (grapes, PINEAPPLE, kiwi), whipped Cream and chocolat souce... It's not italian.. That was the first time.. And the last.

ATTENTION: The main entrance is via a narrow escalator. It didn't play a role during my visit, but you should find out beforehand how people with limited mobility can get to the restaurant. Visually authentic. A bit too expensive for the mediocre food. Tiramisu was quite tasty, the rest not so much. To fill you up you definitely need a starter with the main course, which is rather small. Pizza was okay in size. The store is very busy, the waiters seem stressed and have also mixed things up with the orders.

The food at this Italian restaurant tastes really good and the service is very accommodating. However, it is extremely loud and you sit in the way of the staff due to the narrow corridors, which was a shame because you couldn't enjoy the food and the evening in a relaxed manner.

I received a delicious menu for dinner today and I have to say why I only discovered this place now. The prices are really great, the restaurant on the first floor has a nice atmosphere. It gets busy at lunchtime, but there is enough space. The service is friendly and prompt, I'll be back.

I was there today with my family. The food tasted good but there were a lot of flies in the bottle of balsamic vinegar which I unfortunately saw after eating!!! When we spoke to the staff, we didn't get an apology, they even said that it's completely normal for them and they can't do anything about it that it's not their fault!!

Cozy, large restaurant. Very friendly service. We had a salad as a starter and then a fish dish. The food came quickly and the portions were good, so we didn't bother with dessert, even though what passed us looked delicious.

Simao, when we entered, we swung and saw that the waiter saw us speaking several languages, even though we spoke to him in Italian, he started to offend us by telling us that in Romania... nothing detracting from this beautiful country... he said in Romania, don't worry like that. so good.......well done for his ignorance anyway he brings us sambuches that weren't...but expired aquaraqia and he still allows himself to be insulated after we complained.....in the end they made us pay for those too. .... without words a total disgust I'm sorry for the kitchen but the service in the room sucks and it's not worth even a cent people under qualified and I don't want to have a job in that position in the city SHIFFFFOOOOOO

I have been a guest at Da Mario since the restaurant was founded! Now the tenant has changed and unfortunately that has done a lot of damage to the quality of the food! Already on the first visit we noticed that neither pasta nor pizza came close to the old standard. Nevertheless, we made a second attempt yesterday evening: the service was friendly and attentive, vitello tonnato was good, the rest (pasta with salmon, pasta matriciana, pizza tonno and sea bass was a failure! One type of pasta was in the water for a maximum of two minutes, the spaghetti matriciana had an unidentifiable (not tasty) taste, the pizza, fish and pastas with salmon were missing any spice! The pasta with salmon was kindly not charged, but that doesn't really help as it was already the second failure! The waitress did say so , there would still be the same staff in the kitchen, but we can't believe that! That's how you can't forget how to cook. It's a shame, we won't be coming back after many lovely evenings (over decades)!

We ate here yesterday and would do it again. Super inconspicuous from the outside but when we went up the escalator we were immediately pleasantly surprised. The ambience is great, contrary to expectations. The waiters were attentive and quick, if a bit curt. We got a table straight away and all the other guests who came in during our stay were assigned a table without a reservation. Bruschetta and pizza super tasty, great pizza dough! Price for three drinks, one bruschetta and three well-topped pizzas and two Averna €65, completely justified and appropriate! The salads and pasta portions that were carried past us were also generous! Here everyone gets their fill and can enjoy this extraordinary atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Non appena entrati, siamo stati invitati a sederci in un tavolo sporco, nonostante la sala fosse quasi vuota. Alla richiesta di cambiare la tovaglia al tavolo, visto che era sporca, il cameriere ci ha invitati a sederci in un altro tavolo, anch’esso sporco, al che abbiamo capito in che posto fossimo capitati. I piatti erano inaccettabili e immangiabili. Il sugo alla bolognese era acido e avariato. I saccottini erano acidi e con un gusto strano. Mi vergogno che un posto così abbia un nome italiano. Sconsigliato. L’unica cosa italiana in questo ristorante era l’acqua “San Pellegrino”. P.s. I fiori finti non hanno bisogno dell’acqua.

Una cosa terribile. ITALIANI EVITATE. Amatriciana e spaghetti al ragù irriconoscibili e immangiabili (in più paprika, prezzemolo, rucola... ingredienti che non centravano niente). Non li avrei fatti mangiare al mio peggior nemico. Entrambi i piatti sono stati rimandati indietro subito e completamente pieni perché, come detto, immangiabili anche con tutta la buona volontà di un masochista e sono stati fatti pagare comunque per intero. Non mi rivedranno mai più a nemmeno un kilometro di distanza. Però la coca cola era buona eh.

POVERO MARIO: ben oltre l’indecenza. Ho ordinato spaghetti amatriciana e quello che mi è arrivato non riesco ancora a descriverlo, l’unica cosa certa è che nessuno dovrebbe mai mangiare una cosa del genere. Dal momento dell’ordine all’arrivo del piatto sono trascorsi 4 minuti netti, nemmeno il tempo di cuocere gli spaghetti. Il piatto era futuristico, all’interno ho, seppure con fatica, rintracciato la presenza di: sedano, prezzemolo, qualcosa che sembrava della carne di provenienza non ben specifica e quello che sarebbe dovuto essere del sugo ma su cui ho ancora dei dubbi. Il tutto contornato con delle spruzzate di paprika. Ho rimandato indietro il piatto dopo essere riuscita a mangiare un solo boccone, tra l’altro rivoltante. Il servizio è di pura fantasia come il menù. A tutti gli italiani e non, evitate questo posto con tutte le vostre forze.

No, ma davvero, com'è successo??? Da Mario hat eigentlich alles, tolles Ambiente und den absolut netten Service… Und früher könntest du da auch fantastisch essen. Ich habe gestern Abend drei ehemalige Kollegen aus Düsseldorf ins Da Mario eingeladen. Nachdem die bei dem kalten Wetter stundenlang unterwegs waren, wollte ich den was gutes tun. Eine Pizza, zwei mal Pasta und Dorade würden bestellt. Eigentlich hätten wir drei essen sofort zurück schicken müssen, aber die Kollegen hatten Hunger. Pizza sah fantastisch aus und schmeckte wohl auch toll, aber Pasta war das was bei Döner Bude unter italienische Küche verkauft wird um den Angebot zu erweitern. Mein Fisch könnte toter nicht sein. Ich fragte mich ob dieser Stück gefrorenen Filet je geschwommen hat oder ob er aus dem 3D Drucker kam. Ich hab ihm nicht runter gekriegt. Das Personal war mega freundlich und hat sich sehr bemüht, aber… Ja, es ist recession. Restaurants kämpfen mit wieder eingeführten 19% Mehrwertsteuer. Es ist alles teurer geworden, aber das ist der falsche Weg! Liebes Da Mario Team, falls das jemand liest: jetzt mehr den je kommt es auf die Qualität an! Wenn man zum Da Mario gehet, erwartet man gute italienische Pasta und keine fertige Sauce. Ich möchte mein Fisch am Tisch filetiert bekommen. Ich würde mich vorne weg zumindest über Brot und etwas Olivenöl freuen. Und trotz einem Trinkgeld von über 20 Euro würde uns nicht mal eine Grappa oder ähnliches angeboten… Ich erwarte kein frisches Fisch mehr für 23 Euro was der Preis gestern für den Fisch war. Klar müsst ihr die Preise erhöhen. Die Leute wissen das ihr nicht daran schuld seid. Aber bitte senkt nicht die Qualität von essen den Imbiss Buden haben wir genug. Ihr könnt das, das habt ihr jahrelang bewiesen. Ab sofort esse ich bei euch nur die Pizza, ich bleibe als Gast nicht weg denn ich möchte das ihr noch lange da seid und hoffe dass ich meine Bewertung bald löschen kann und neue schreiben kann. Nice traditional restaurant with mediocre food and friendly service. My husband and I visited on New Year’s day. They were fully booked for dinner but were able to seat us for an early dinner at 17:30. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana dish and my husband the lasagna. We both got side salads at an extra cost (4,95). I got the alcohol free beer, my husband got the Pils. Our drinks arrived with a basket of very stale bread within a few minutes. I sipped my beer, remarking that it tasted very “real” for an alcohol free beer, my husband agreed. As I drank i started to feel a bit tipsy and sent my drink back. Turns out I was served the regular beer instead of alcohol free!!! Luckily our server quickly remedied it and apologised for the mistake. Our side salads and mains arrived together. My eggplant dish was absolutely smothered in molten cheese, with a nice tasting tomato sauce. It was tasty but so greasy and rich I could only eat a third of it. The salad was very basic and dressed in what tasted like a store bought bottled dressing. My husband’s lasagna was awful and the tomato sauce tasted like it had gotten absolutely no cooking or flavourings and minimal amount of meat in it. The restaurant seems like a Heidelberg institution, and frequented by many guests. It’s a nice place. So sad that the food is so mediocre.

Snelle service, gewoon lekkere pizza

괜찮은 분위기의 이태리 레스토랑입니다. 무엇보다 좋은 위치에 있고 내부에 많은 자리가 있어, 식사 장소 찾기에 좋은 곳입니다.

Waren dort gegen Abend um etwas zu essen. Von aussen wirkt es erst mal etwas seltsam, da man sich dank der Rolltreppe wie in einem alten Kaufhaus vorkommt. Innen sieht es aber ganz schön aus. Zugegeben jetzt nicht gerade modern, aber trotzdem schön. Wir durften uns einen Tisch aussuchen und unsere Bestellung wurde recht schnell aufgenommen. Dabei fühlten wir uns im Bezug auf die Getränke etwas "überfallen", da wir kaum aussprechen konnten bevor uns (natürlich nicht sehr preiswerte) Getränke aufgeschwatzt wurden. Zu Essen hatten wir eine Pizza und eine Portion Cannelloni. Die Getränke kamen nach 2 Minuten, das Essen nach insgesamt 5 Minuten. Verdächtig schnell bei vollem Haus. Die Pizza war so dünn dass ich nach dem ersten Biss nachsehen musste ob ich tatsächlich Teig auf der Gabel habe. Dünne Pizza ist ja lecker, aber dann bitte auch knusprig. War hier leider nicht der Fall. Die Cannelloni waren lecker, aber es waren wirklich nur 4 kleine Röllchen. Hatte uns stark an einen Kinderteller erinnert. Im Endeffekt fanden wir es geschmacklich zwar okay bis gut, allerdings waren die Portionen wirklich viel zu klein. Vor allem für die geforderten Preise. Wir werden vermutlich nicht wiederkommen.

Preise angemessen, mein Risotto war sehr gut und die Servicekraft war äußerst aufmerksam und freundlich. Es ist bisschen dunkel im Restaurant, aber das tut dem Besuch kein Abbruch.

Ótima pizza. Vale a pena, a pizza 4 formaggi é excelente.

Pizza war sehr lecker. Tagesessen war okay. Salat war vor den Getränken am Tisch. Bedienung war Unaufmerksamkeit, obwohl nicht so viel los war und Sie um unseren Tisch geschlichen ist, wurde der Salatteller lange nicht abgeräumt. Am Fenster zog es wie Hechtsuppe, da die Balkontür defekt war.

Trotz vollem Haus hat man auch als Soloreisende einen Tisch bekommen. Außerdem müsste ich nicht lange auf mein Essen warten.

Die Lasagne war eher eine Kinder- oder Seniorenportion, das Hackfleisch der Bolognese kaum vorhanden. Und ja, die Linguine Gamberetti waren auch keine Linguine, geschmacklich aber okay.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet und das Essen ist ein großer Traum. Ich kann nur das wärmstens empfehlen. Maria

Sehr schönes Italienisches Restaurant wo es mit einer Rolltreppe in den ersten Stock geht. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und Aufmerksam. Zu Essen habe ich mir Spagetti Carbonara bestellt. Hätte für mich zwar ein bisschen besser Gewürzt sein können. Aber Geschmäcker sind verschieden. Zum Nachtisch hatte ich noch ein Tiramisu mit einen Cappuccino bestellt. Das Tiramisu kann man nur empfehlen echt klasse. Insgesamt habe ich mit Getränke + Trinkgeld 32 € bezahlt. Was will man mehr.

Food was great but the service could be a lot better and more professional.

War sehr enttäuschend. Es war gut bewertet also sind wir Mal hin aber die Kellner schienen irgendwie abwesend es hat beispielsweise lange gedauert bis uns die Speisekarte gebracht wurde obwohl ein Kellner uns beim hinsetzen bemerkt hat. Die Ambiente ist sehr altmodisch und leider war auch die Tischdecke dreckig. Wir haben auch mehr vom essen erwartet, die Nudeln waren zu weich und die Pizza auch nicht überragend.

This was my second option on the list for pizza, but I didn't regret it at all. A friend brought me here for dinner and a nice conversation, after I asked him for pizza. First of all, we were both probably underdressed for the place. I gasped when I entered. The place is elegant yet still great for a friend's reunion. It has very warm touches even though elegance is rather cold. I asked, of course, for pizza. A classic basil-mozzarella is my all time favorite everywhere. It's like the carrot cake or cheese cake: I try those everywhere to find the best one in town (wherever that town is). I did that with brownies in Asuncion as well. So, pizza was great. The dough seemed very legit (as in, abiding to Italian recipes) and it had very fresh ingredients. I don't know about the olive oil though. I missed some extra olive oil on top though. Nevertheless, I was very happy with my pizza. I want to point out as well, that the amount of food is also something to consider. I almost didn't finish it and I LOVE FOOD. It could be enough for two people. Of course I had to try the gnocchi my friend was having and it was Superb! It was one of the seasonal/Chef recommendations. And it was just delicious. I never liked gnocchi as a pasta dish but that one deserved applause. I had tiramisu as dessert. It was ok-ish. I had better. I think the mascarpone they used wasn't that good. But, on the side of coffee, I don't know which one they used to put the lady fingers in it, but it was really good! Regarding the staff, the lady from our table was really nice. She was highly attentive, chatting a bit (enough to cheer us but not too much to wish her go away) and giving us time to decide (we were catching up after two years of distance and needed some time to talk). I always loved to give tips according to service: regular tips for regular service, great tips for great service. A mirar likely 5-star was thought of only because of the excellent service. The reason it cost them one star was a fly. A fly inside a restaurant is a bad sign of hygiene. Everything else was top!

Der Besuch bei „Da Mario“ war leider nicht so wie erwartet. Die Servicekraft lustlos und unaufmerksam. Vorab wurden 8 kleine Baguette-Scheiben für 7 Personen serviert. Nur Brot! Kein Aufstrich, Aioli oder ähnliches. Auf dem Tisch stand weder Essig noch Öl. Das Essen für 7 Personen kam schon nach 10 Minuten. Die Hälfte davon komischerweise lauwarm. Das Essen an sich war im Großen und Ganzen in Ordnung, aber am Service muss hier dringend gearbeitet werden. Nach dem Essen wurde 10 Sekunden nach dem letzten Bissen lautlos abgeräumt. Es wurde weder nach Dessert noch nach einem Espresso oder Absacker gefragt.
