Simply the best Greek in the region🤤

Malaka your leisure Greeks. After decades of expeditions through the taverns of the Ruhr area, I can rightly say: Rhodes Grill in Obercastrop is the Zeus of Greek restaurants! As a self-proclaimed ouzo sommelier and tzatziki guru, I've devoured many a gyro, but the taxi plate here is a masterpiece that can confidently be called a culinary crowning achievement. The taxi plate is so good that you could easily eat it for 356 days a year - you would probably spend the remaining 9 days on holiday in Rhodes to personally thank the grill team. The mounds of meat are so juicy that I suspect they were personally caressed in the pasture by Greek gods. The fries – crispy like the laughter of Sirtaki dancing angels. And the tzatziki? So creamy that you wish you could bathe in it. So if you're looking for the best Greek in the Ruhr area, you don't need to look any further: Rhodes Grill is the answer to all culinary prayers! The food was delicious and the service was good. The staff is friendly and you are served quickly. However, the atmosphere was very unpleasant, so we were in a side room that had a lot of echo. The conversations of the other guests were so loud that normal conversation was not really possible. Unfortunately, everything on the window side was occupied, so we couldn't move around. However, when paying, you also noticed the high volume there, so a quiet, nice evening wasn't really possible. Overall, I give it 3 stars because of the friendly staff and the quick service. The food was tasty but not so great that next time we would order something to take away.

Best chip maker far and wide. The portions are huge, fresh, tasty and prepared with a lot of love. We always come regularly from Recklinghausen. I can highly recommend the food and the value for money. The hospitality and family atmosphere round off the visit. It's like a little vacation with good friends. that used to be a good Greek. Have been eating lunch there on Saturdays after work about every 2 weeks for 20 years. It doesn't work anymore, it's now only open from 2 p.m. Coleslaw used to be really good, but now it doesn't taste good anymore. It feels like things have been going downhill everywhere since Corona. Since then, prices have only gone up and portions have become smaller. Example: small gyros gratinated, now smaller bowls, only half full. It's clear that everyone has to do the math, except that with Corona and 7% tax everyone left the increased prices and at 19% they are even higher. Going to get something to eat isn't fun anymore. We're looking for another Greek. It's a shame

A GOOD GREEK SNACK So the food (gyros) was delicious as always👌 only portions have become smaller! Unfortunately, as always, the cola is non-carbonated 🤣 Before Corona there was another waiter who did it better! The current, slightly older waiter still doesn't know the menu and seems very unfriendly! Overall nothing special, just a good snack bar around the corner but it doesn't have much to do with a restaurant!

Fast service, delicious alt and good food. It was very busy (lots of pick-ups and several occupied tables) but we had the food in about 40 minutes after ordering. You can pay with Paypal, which is very convenient.

We ordered takeaway for 10 people on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. Nevertheless, our food was prepared quickly, the employees were very friendly despite the stress and our order was complete. It was very delicious. The prices for the quality are also great.

Der Rhodos-Grill ist IMMER einen Besuch wert. Sehr leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen, gute Portionen und eine tolle, nette Crew. Es empfiehlt sich einen Tisch zu reservieren. Von den Bildern nicht abschrecken lassen, die sind schon älter - Es wurde modernisiert 😉

Super friendly and very attentive service staff. The portions are large and it tastes really good. For me personally, the tzatziki could have used a little more salt and a little more onions (I didn't ask for more). The atmosphere is very good and you experience a relaxed atmosphere. Otherwise you feel welcome.

Freundliche Inhaber, zuvorkommendes und umsichtiges Personal. Sehr sauberes, gemütliches Ambiente. Auch bei vollem Restaurant ist die Geräuschkulisse nicht störend. Reichhaltige Gerichte, ordentliche Portionen, faires Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich hatte eine Rhodos-Platte für 13,50€ und musste als geübter Esser am Ende kämpfen. Das Fleisch ist gut durch, jedoch keinesfalls verbrannt, sondern immer noch saftig. Lummersteak, Souzouki, Souvlaki und Gyros waren on point - klasse! Die Tzatziki Portionen sind ebenfalls enorm. Alle 4 Personen waren vollends zufrieden und gesättigt. Das Personal ist spitzenmäßig. Wir haben am Ende sogar einen Ouzo auf's Haus bekommen. Super Location - hier gehen wir gerne wieder hin!

Das Essen war wie immer sehr,sehr lecker. Sie Bedienung sehr freundlich ,die Seniorenportion war für mich reichlich.

Also eine Absolute Empfehlung. Preis-Leistung ist unschlagbar. Die Gerichte sind so Lecker und das Personal so was von Nett und Professionell. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne.

Also das Essen steht außerhalb jeder Kritik und auch die Angestellten inkl. dem Chef sind echt spitze und ich freue mich immer wenn ich hier etwas esse oder abhole. Ambiente ist typisch für einen griechischen Imbiss. Derzeit kann man Bar zahlen oder per PayPal. Im Service wäre es für mich wünschenswert Kartenzahlung zur Verfügung zu stellen. Ansonsten kann ich jedem der Gyros mag nur sagen, diesen hier müsst ihr unbedingt probieren 😋

Wer richtig lecker 😋 Essen will ist in Castrop Rauxel beim Thomas bestens aufgehoben es schmeckt einfach alles total super...Die Kellner/innen sind sehr nett und aufmerksam ...Der Service ist super auch ohne Reservierung bekommt man einen Sitzplatz...

Gyros Pita leider nicht in der Tasche, sondern gerollt. Pommes Currywurst war okay. Das Team wirkte aber motiviert und aufgrund der längeren Wartezeit gab der Chef n Ouzo aus 🔝.

Ein Imbiss der schon fast wie ein Restaurant wirkt. Sanitär und Gästebeteich frisch renoviert. Personal ist wirklich aufmerksam und immer freundlich. Jeder Tisch wurde nach dem Essen gründlich gereinigt, einfach ein angenehmes Gefühl für die nächsten Gäste.

Lange hatten wir uns vorgenommen hier mal essen zu gehen, gestern war es endlich soweit! Es hat einfach alles gestimmt der Service war richtig gut , die junge Frau war mega aufmerksam und freundlich das Essen super lecker ...köstich hat mein Tochter gesagt und so war meins auch . Ich kann jedem empfehlen hier zu essen und eine schöne Zeit zu verbringen.

Hier bekommt man wirklich einen griechischen Imbiss, der nicht zu übertreffen ist. Gyros sind absolut Spitze und auf dem Punkt zubereitet, zudem noch angenehm gewürzt. Die Pommes schmecken super und dazu gibt es eine hervorragende Sauce. Dem Krautsalat kann man anmerken, dass er selbst und frisch zubereitet wird. Aber Vorsicht : die Portionen sind riesengroß und mehr als zum "Satt Werden" . Wir bestellen für eine Person und es reicht für Zwei. Das Personal ist pfiffig und stets bemüht , sein Bestes zu geben. Wir kennen den Rhodos Grill und seine Inhaber schon seit Jahrzehnten und sind immer wieder zufrieden. Ein Kompliment an das komplette Team .

Wir waren heute zum Abendessen 🥘 dort. Es hat dieses Mal etwas länger mit dem Speisen gedauert. Der Chef persönlich hat sich für die Verzögerung entschuldigt und meine Frau und mich auf eine gratis „Runde“ Getränke eingeladen. Diese Geste hätte nicht unbedingt sein müssen, zeigt aber wie wichtig dem Team ein zufriedener Gast ist 🫶

Leider ist der Andrang immer so gross,das wir einen Tisch reservieren müssen,was wir aber sehr gerne tun. Das war ein tolles Gespräch sehr nette Mitarbeiterin. Der Tisch war schon mit Besteck und Speisekarte vorbereitet. Das Essen was so super wie immer. Danach bekamen wir noch etwas zum Anstoßen auch die nicht Alkohol tranken. Preis Leistung ist unschlagbar. Die Portionen sind sehr groß (!), für das was man hier bezahlt. Die Qualität top! Das Team und die Inhaber sind immer total freundlich und man fühlt sich hier sehr willkommen! Negative Rezensionen absolut nicht nachvollziehbar… die Leute sollten sich mal im Supermarkt die Preise genauer anschauen, bevor sie schreiben, hier sei es zu teuer oder die Preis-Leistung wäre nicht gegeben 😂 also das Lokal muss ja auch was verdienen um alle Fixkosten zu decken und ich gehe stark davon aus, dass die nicht gering sind…

Kenne den Imbiss seit 40 Jahren. Essen ist immer noch so gut wie am Anfang. Der Andrang ist so groß, dass man auch schon mal 30 Minuten warten muss (ohne Vorbestellung). Aber davon ist es jede Minute wert. Ambiente "Nur" 3 Sterne, da halt Imbissbude. Hat aber eigenen Charme.... ALSO: Unbedingte Empfehlung. PS: Bei Insidern geht man zu Thomas

Eher kleinere Portionen , das Gyrosfleisch selbst war zumindest heute sehr fettig , btw mit hohem Fettanteil , Gyros Pita viel Salat , wenig Fleisch . Es gibt bessere Alternativen im Umkreis
