First of all: the Rhodes has been around since 1981. I have been coming here very often since at least 1982. I can remember huge portions and really wonderful gyros and the rest was always great. So I'm really sorry to have to give a bad review. Today's takeaway order was the last straw. The salad we bought and paid for was missing today. If prices hadn't skyrocketed so exorbitantly in recent years, this wouldn't be such a problem. However, the rest wasn't great either: the second salad ("medium farmer's salad"), which I already had without expensive cheese, wasn't even filled to the edge of the bowl. A really sad heap where there used to be fantastic portions. Unfortunately, the taste is no longer what it used to be. Well, everything changes over time, but what was starting today was more of a kebab and laff. We don't want to talk about the fries. Since Thomas handed over to his son, it seems to be all about maximizing profits. Very unfortunate :(

For a fast food restaurant, very good food and very good service. Always very well attended, which seems to be a sign of a good image.

I recently visited this restaurant and really loved it. The team was very friendly and took care of everything. The food was delicious, especially the Metaxa sauce, which tasted really great. I can only recommend the restaurant and look forward to my next visit!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We were there around late afternoon today. We pre-booked for 6 people, which was actually good. The grill restaurant is well attended. We were warmly welcomed and shown the table. An equally nice waitress was right there and took our drinks order. After ordering the food, mainly gyro plates and gyrospitas, it didn't take long until the food came to our table. The meat was very good and the fries were nice and crispy. Even the children's gyro plate was sufficient and apparently not much less than the normal one. In my opinion, the prices are reasonable and can be found on the Grill's website. If you don't have cash on hand, payment via PayPal is also possible, according to the sign at the checkout. Rhodes Grill Restaurant is really recommended.

A very good price/performance ratio, very nice service and quick delivery of the order. One star deduction for the ambience, as the "restaurant area" is not well separated from the snack bar. I can recommend it without reservation.

What happened? It always used to be an absolute pleasure. We really enjoyed eating there. After some time, we ordered our favorite dishes again today. Grilled liver in Metaxa sauce. The liver was cut into 2 to 4 mm thin slices, barely salted and fried whole to death! The Metaxa sauce, which I could have always spooned plain, could otherwise have been an underseasoned cream sauce. Really more than a shame! My husband's Rhodes platter can only be described as under-seasoned and far-dry!

It used to be really tasty there. Now it's just sad. The meat was barely seasoned and dry. The Metaxa sauce is not a real sauce.

Pre-order: 3x fries + curry sausage “offer” €3.30, ordered without sauce for my children. Normally I paid the price on offer, but not today it was over bratwurst + fries (sausage wasn't cut, even though I mentioned it separately!). In addition to the higher price, I had 6 pieces of sausage with the fries + currywurst (back then it was always a reasonable portion). I called there and according to the employee it wasn't a normal portion because it was on offer...okay then you should write down "half portion €3.30"!!! I also think that the taste of the food has deteriorated in the last few months.

Best gyros far and wide. The staff are always super nice no matter how busy it is. I really enjoy getting food there.

The food was okay. Gyros were a bit too greasy for me and the fries were too cold. The curry sauce and the bread (pita) were great. Unfortunately the drink (soda) had far too little carbonation. The staff is very nice and friendly. The ambience and the “arrangement” on the plate could be made a little nicer. I would put the price towards “high”.

Simply always great. I can recommend it to everyone. Top meat and great service. You have to compromise on the ambience. But you can still ignore that.

Unfortunately, we cannot share the many positive reviews. Ordered 2 gyro plates with fries, tzatziki and coleslaw. The gyro lacked the typical gyro taste. The fries are so thin that they just got hard from being fried for too long. But the tzatziki were inedible and the coleslaw was even worse. Pure grated white cabbage without any marinade. A Greek would vomit! We will never order there again.

Delicious and authentic Greek restaurant with an absolutely perfect price/performance ratio! Prices have missed the inflation of the last few years! Delicious and absolutely recommended! The highlight is the currywurst/fries price cracker on the 15th of the month for 3.30 (as of October '24) Everything was super delicious!!! Really Greek! The tzatziki is also super delicious!!!! If possible I would give 10 stars!!!

The food is really good, but very small portions and extremely expensive prices. So for the same meal you pay a maximum of €30 at the Grillhaus elia in ickern. Here 42€ is quite a bit of a price.

Malaka your leisure Greeks. After decades of expeditions through the taverns of the Ruhr area, I can rightly say: Rhodes Grill in Obercastrop is the Zeus of Greek restaurants! As a self-proclaimed ouzo sommelier and tzatziki guru, I've devoured many a gyro, but the taxi plate here is a masterpiece that can confidently be called a culinary crowning achievement. The taxi plate is so good that you could easily eat it for 356 days a year - you would probably spend the remaining 9 days on holiday in Rhodes to personally thank the grill team. The mounds of meat are so juicy that I suspect they were personally caressed in the pasture by Greek gods. The fries – crispy like the laughter of Sirtaki dancing angels. And the tzatziki? So creamy that you wish you could bathe in it. So if you're looking for the best Greek in the Ruhr area, you don't need to look any further: Rhodes Grill is the answer to all culinary prayers! Kalimera and bon appetit!

The food was delicious and the service was good. The staff is friendly and you are served quickly. However, the atmosphere was very unpleasant, so we were in a side room that had a lot of echo. The conversations of the other guests were so loud that normal conversation was not really possible. Unfortunately, everything on the window side was occupied, so we couldn't move around. However, when paying, you also noticed the high volume there, so a quiet, nice evening wasn't really possible. Overall, I give it 3 stars because of the friendly staff and the quick service. The food was tasty but not so great that next time we would order something to take away.

that used to be a good Greek. Have been eating lunch there on Saturdays after work about every 2 weeks for 20 years. It doesn't work anymore, it's now only open from 2 p.m. Coleslaw used to be really good, but now it doesn't taste good anymore. It feels like things have been going downhill everywhere since Corona. Since then, prices have only gone up and portions have become smaller. Example: small gyros gratinated, now smaller bowls, only half full. It's clear that everyone has to do the math, except that with Corona and 7% tax everyone left the increased prices and at 19% they are even higher. Going to get something to eat isn't fun anymore. We're looking for another Greek. It's a shame

A GOOD GREEK SNACK So the food (gyros) was delicious as always👌 only portions have become smaller! Unfortunately, as always, the cola is non-carbonated 🤣 Before Corona there was another waiter who did it better! The current, slightly older waiter still doesn't know the menu and seems very unfriendly! Overall nothing special, just a good snack bar around the corner but it doesn't have much to do with a restaurant!

Fast service, delicious alt and good food. It was very busy (lots of pick-ups and several occupied tables) but we had the food in about 40 minutes after ordering. You can pay with Paypal, which is very convenient.

For me personally, the tzatziki could have used a little more salt and a little more onions (I didn't ask for more). The atmosphere is very good and you experience a relaxed atmosphere.
