Restaurante Monte Grande in Neuss

We arrived without a reservation with our wife and 8-year-old child on November 9, 2025. The friendly waitress helped us immediately, even though closing time was in an hour, they specially restocked the buffet and grilled steak. The food was delicious: the spit-roasted pork and steak were my favorites! The vegetables in béarnaise sauce were excellent! Thanks for a lovely evening, and we'll be back next time with extra reinforcements so we can enjoy the delicious steaks! :)

We visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday, and I have to say it was simply disappointing. For the price, the selection wasn't very extensive and definitely not as advertised on the website. The food was lukewarm, if anything, and sometimes cold. The table we were assigned was in a very small corner where you could hardly move. Everything was very cramped. It had little to do with a steakhouse. The side dishes weren't particularly special either, and most of them were cold. The value for money here is definitely not good.

Excellent meat, terrible beer, and German-style service. The kitchen closes at 9:30 PM.

A nice table in a quiet alcove had been reserved for us in a small family setting. The food was good, but with a little more love (eating is also a feast for the eyes), it would have been much more appealing.

The ambiance was very nice. The staff was very friendly. But the food was a disaster. We ate a buffet, and the price was completely unjustified. The meat and, for example, the potato gratin were cold. Then the suckling pig was completely oversalted. And the selection was limited and rather bourgeois, but definitely not "steakhouse"-worthy. We won't be going back.

It's simply a delicious and varied buffet with a lovely ambiance and super friendly service! From bacon-wrapped dates as an appetizer to roast suckling pig or homemade teramisu, there's something for everyone, and you'll usually end up returning more than once! 😄 And for those who aren't fans of the buffet, you can also order from the cart! 😉

We went there for the all-you-can-eat option. Absolutely fantastic for the price, but the food is very substantial and you can't really eat much. It's a large restaurant and the buffet gets very busy. There's hardly any parking. There's apparently a parking garage nearby, though.

I was absolutely thrilled with last night! As soon as you enter the steakhouse, you notice: everything is just right here. The ambiance is cozy, stylish, yet pleasantly relaxed—exactly the right mix to make you feel at home right away. From the very first moment, the service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. No fake smiles, just genuine interest in making you feel completely at home as a guest. Drinks arrived quickly, special requests were fulfilled without any problems, and you never felt like anything was too much to ask for. The food—simply excellent. (Despite the buffet) You can tell that the cooking here is done with passion and quality is paramount. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The value for money is absolutely spot on, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food, a great atmosphere, and friendly service. We've been there many times now and can only recommend it without reservation! A reservation is a must, otherwise it might be difficult to get a table.

This buffet was an absolute dream, with a truly wonderful selection of high-quality dishes, both as starters and main courses. What I really liked, apart from the cevapcici (which were very mild), was that everything was very well seasoned. There was also a truly lovely and delicious salad selection, as well as desserts ranging from churros to the finest fruit. Of course, the quality is somewhat offset by the drink prices, but that's perfectly acceptable given what's on offer. Despite the restaurant being very full and several birthday parties, the waitress regularly checked in on us to see how things were. Therefore, I can recommend the restaurant without hesitation! We'll definitely be back.

It was a great evening. We were thrilled that the steaks were medium-rare despite the buffet, and the fries were super crispy. That's something to behold! Everything was delicious. Starters, main courses, and dessert were all top-notch! Since it's hard to find anywhere else, a heads-up: there's a kids' buffet price! We'll be back!

The buffet, in particular, was incredibly delicious, varied, and fresh. A big compliment also to the waiter and the entire team: everyone was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. The cozy atmosphere perfectly rounded off the evening. We would definitely love to come back – highly recommended!

Great steakhouse! The a la carte food is really good, but the highlight is the all-you-can-eat buffet. The steaks are cooked medium despite being buffet style, and the selection is good and of very good quality. It's certainly not a cheap experience, but you have to pay for quality. We'd be happy to return!

The buffet is truly excellent. It's often the case that such offerings often skimp on quality. I was all the more surprised that everything here was top-notch. The dry-aged steaks and the suckling pig are absolutely delicious and prepared with love, and the wide selection is equally impressive. The price of €36.50 is absolutely fair for what's on offer. I can only shake my head when people criticize this as being overpriced. People like this have no idea what food of this quality costs to buy. Meat lovers should definitely come here; I'd be happy to return.

The food at the "grill party" buffet was delicious. Delicious steak, cooked to perfection on a real charcoal grill. Everything we tried was delicious. The suckling pig was also delicious. And what's more: super dog-friendly! The dog even got a piece of the suckling pig, and the meat for the dog was just as high quality as the rest. We were truly speechless. We'll definitely be back! 😊 The 45-minute drive was worth it.

We drove all the way from Hagen to Neuss, and what can I say... It certainly wasn't the last time we were there!! The buffet was so delicious!! Every single one of the many dishes was perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned, and soooo delicious! The dessert buffet was so inviting and varied that I unfortunately couldn't try everything. - OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BURST! - We'll be inviting friends there soon. It was delicious, reasonably priced (not cheap, but definitely reasonable!), and the service was very friendly and eager to resolve any concerns. See you soon!

Six of us visited Montegrande for the first time today! We heard about it through a recommendation on Instagram. And what can I say? I'm thrilled! 🤩 Not only I, but my companion was also super satisfied. We rolled home full and happy. Boy...was that delicious! My wife found the restaurant on Instagram and sent me the link. It took me a mere 13 seconds to tell her she needed to book a table. The atmosphere was incredibly beautiful and cozy, with attention to detail. The staff were on the ball and very friendly ☝️👍...The price was still within our budget 🤔☺️ The selection of dishes is more than sufficient, and the food looks delicious. All in all, highly recommended. Tip: Reserve a table 😉

Friday was barbecue time again. Unfortunately, our favorite waiter, Igor, is no longer there... The incredibly good, fresh, and tasty food made it another fantastic evening for us at Monte Grande! The food was delicious, steaks were perfectly grilled, glasses were well-filled, and service was impeccable as always. We're from the Niedderhein region, and our friends are from Langenfeld. The one-hour drive is always worth it. Thank you🙋🏼‍♂️🙋🏼‍♀️

Such a huge place! I haven't been there in years, but finally, the four of us made it there for dinner. The service was friendly, and we sat quietly outside. We all enjoyed the food; the portions were generous, but the drink prices were a bit high. I remembered the salad buffet from lunch 10 years ago (!) being much more lavish. Overall, though, it was a very good experience.

I went to the Monte Grande restaurant with a friend today. As soon as you entered you were greeted warmly. The seats are set up invitingly. The service was very friendly. We got salads at a buffet and after a very short time our food arrived. A Balkan grill plate and a grill plate. We were also able to try the suckling pig, which was delicious and very tender, while beautiful music played in the background. Afterwards we got a small ice cream and a cappuccino. We got the ice cream on the house. And afterwards there was a nightcap for drivers😃. I can highly recommend this restaurant. The service was very nice, the food was excellent. I would like to come again.

Highly recommended! Amazing buffet, especially the Mediterranean appetizers are a hit. Grilled lamb and suckling pig, fantastic. But only Thursdays to Sundays from 5:30 p.m. My wife only wants to go there now; she seems to be addicted...

I was there with 5 other people. At reception we were checked with ID!!! Great implementation. Most of the food was fillet steaks, served to perfection. The salad buffet was great. We'd love to come back. On February 4th, 2023 with 4 people. As always, great food. On 12/28/24 with 6 people. Absolutely excellent food. On March 13, 2025 with 2 people. Especially good today. The streak to the point medium. For dessert there was mousse au chocolate.

Beim Reservieren eines neuen Termins, sagte man mir das eine Reservierung um 18.00 Uhr von der Geschäftsleitung nicht gewünscht und nicht möglich sei. Angeboten hat man mir entweder 17.00 Uhr oder 19.00 Uhr. Ich wusste bis dahin nicht, dass die Geschäftsleitung eines Restaurants mir vorzuschreiben hat, um wieviel Uhr ich Essen zu gehen habe und wann nicht. Unser letzter Besuch am Freitag, war reine Massenabfertigung bei lauwarmen Buffet. Das ganze gepaart mit anmaßendem Verhalten der Geschäftsführung. Solange dieser "Höhenflug" anhält, war's das für uns mit "Monte Grande".

We were at “Monte Grande” last night and almost everything was perfect 👍 Good food, nice service, nice ambience 👍 All reasons why guests love coming here again and again 🥂😊 The only point of criticism: My brother had asked for a reservation (table by the window) for our family and unfortunately they forgot 👎 We were then assigned another table. Too bad! If you call specifically and ask for a reservation, then that shouldn't be a problem for the service staff. Putting up a sign saying “Reserved” would have been enough.

Now much too expensive and the food is no longer what it used to be. Very unfortunate

I think it's a very good steakhouse. The lunch menu in particular is an absolute recommendation for me. Price and performance are definitely right here. For lunch there is always a starter soup, a small salad (you put it together yourself) and a dessert.

Today we unfortunately had a wait of over 20 minutes, despite reservations... several other guests waited even longer... the price of over €35 is also a negative for the buffet... it's better to enjoy a nice ambience and a good steak somewhere else

Apart from the fact that it tastes really delicious there, there is a really inexpensive buffet on some days. The service is top. You're also welcome to leave a decent tip.

Fresh salads and delicious dressings. Bread with perfect aioli. Steaks on point. Service is natural and relaxed and friendly. Costs reasonable and yet a little less than expected. Perfect! We'll definitely be back.

At Christmas we had 4 adults and two children served. An extra 60 KM journey was accepted. Buffet with 2 hour time slot. Sounds good. Super excited about it. But not that 300 people are scheduled at the same time. It welcomes everyone into the store at the same time, everyone to the buffet at the same time and everything is in the middle of the entrance area. Waiting in line for 45 minutes to get your main courses? Are you serious? Not all 6 people go to line up at the same time. That means...we couldn't even eat together as a family. Disaster! Because I couldn't get to the buffet, my friend ordered a pizza through Lieferando and ate it in front of the door. This Christmas dinner was more than a success!

Under no circumstances should you order a table here for Christmas. It's so crowded that you can't move. You can't get to the buffet without being pushed hundreds of times. The waiters are constantly shouting that you have to make room because of course they have to get through. It's worse than any store's clearance sale. Of course the owner wants to make money, but you should adapt the guests to the premises. That doesn't even have anything to do with a cozy Christmas dinner. The atmosphere at McDonald's would have been even more relaxed. Our table was also in the middle of a passage, so even when we were sitting there we kept getting jostled. When I kindly pointed out to the boss or restaurant manager that it was very unpleasant to constantly have a walker stuck in my back, they said, "That's just the way it is and I would have to live with it or leave. We were with 8 people and then also against. Unfriendly, far too crowded, inhumane and simply not recommended if you want to eat out at Christmas time.
