We ate here because I told my colleague I was in the mood for asparagus today. When we arrived, we immediately noticed that it was an upscale clientele that dined there. When we walked in, I immediately noticed how the waiter was scrutinizing us for our appearance (we were both wearing jeans, I was wearing a t-shirt, and my colleague even had a shirt). When the waiter came over and we asked if he had a table, he replied, "Actually, not," in a short, unfriendly tone. When I pointed out that that was the wrong answer, he went off and looked for a table. He came back with the statement, "We still have a shabby table available." After that statement, we should have turned around and left. However, we walked in and got very, very good food, and the price was commensurate. All in all, I only found the experience unpleasant because of the extremely unfriendly waiter. The food was 10/10, and the lady who served us was also 10/10. The waiter at reception was awful—0/10.

An ambivalent experience. Our reservation was confirmed via email, but it still didn't make it onto the restaurant's reservation list. The food was neither good nor refined enough to warrant more than three stars. The service was strained, but not confident, and despite the effort, came across as unfriendly and unfriendly. Our steak was mediocre at best. In the strawberry and asparagus salad, neither the strawberries nor the asparagus were significant because they used far too much balsamic vinegar. Generally, the quality of the ingredients was not convincing (the tomatoes and strawberries lacked flavor, and the asparagus was rather thin). We're happy to pay a little more for good food, but the prices were excessive for the quality offered. The staff seemed unfocused, especially inflexible and hectic. Only the ambiance was largely convincing. In our case, the average rating of 4.5 stars, which was the deciding factor for our visit, was ultimately irritating. A shame.

Sat on the terrace in wonderful weather, great view of the Pauliner Marsch. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Food was delicious. Drinks too.

This restaurant is absolutely outstanding. I had dinner here and was blown away by the whole experience. The atmosphere is romantic and peaceful, the decor is beautiful, and every detail feels thoughtfully curated. The staff were incredibly kind and professional — the service couldn’t have been better. Honestly, it’s the best restaurant I’ve visited in Bremen so far. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special moment or enjoy an unforgettable evening, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We were in the restaurant in the evening and we were very satisfied. Our meal was excellent. Our service was also very good. We had a lovely evening. I particularly recommend the plaice Finkenwerder style. I really liked the atmosphere. The view is so beautiful.

Three people were in the restaurant on April 19th. As always, the food was artisanal and of very high quality. The service was again very attentive, competent and extremely friendly. Luckily, we had already finished eating when guests with a dog sat down at the next table, and the smell was so pungent that we had to go out onto the terrace to finish our drinks. By the way: There is a sign on the entrance door indicating that you should ask the waitress whether dogs are allowed into the restaurant. In my opinion, this sign should be replaced by a prohibition sign.

Completely satisfied: The food was very tasty and freshly prepared, the portions were large! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is very cozy. Gladly again at any time.

The Jürgrnshof is beautifully located in the Pauliner Marsh. Good North German cuisine is offered and you can choose whatever you want, everything is of excellent quality and taste. The staff is very attentive. We will definitely eat here often again.

We celebrated our wedding 32 years ago and my husband's 60th birthday on Saturday in the hayloft. The food and service were of exceptionally good quality then and now. The guest is always the focus here. I would celebrate here again and again. Thanks to the entire team

Unreserved praise for this restaurant

I was on the sun terrace of the Jürgenshof with my mother from Australia in August last year. My spoiled mother was really impressed by the halibut carpaccio and the good fish dish. I liked the very, very friendly waitress. I thought it was great that she treated us so personally. It was a wonderful evening to celebrate reuniting with my mother after 9 years. Thank you to the Jürgenshof.

Very tasty in a nice atmosphere

For the price of 34 (35?) euros there was game meat ragout. But the game meat tasted like beef. And the vegetables were more like 50 cent penny goods. The dumplings were great. And the dessert was ok. Overall, however, you can eat here and the toilets are very nice and well maintained.

How can you still not offer oat milk for coffee in 2024?

Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff, great service

First of all, the prices: you can get a cheap dish for around 20 EUR, an expensive one for around 40 and the average is around 30 EUR. These are rather high prices compared to the rest of Bremen. That's okay, of course, as long as it's better than elsewhere. First of all: That's not it. Per: - cozy, rustic country house style furnishings - nice location near the Weser, so you can easily walk there - nice service - While we waited there was warm, soft baguette with delicious parsley pesto and butter. This was very good and far better than the main courses described below. Con: - We had to wait quite a long time. Our food was on the table about 45 minutes after arrival. - There are things like 0.2 liters of cola for EUR 3.90 on the menu. I hate 0.2L drinks and there are no other sizes for soft drinks. That's actually not nice at all, because no one in the world will be happy with 0.2 liters of liquid, especially if you have to wait as long as we do. So should I pay 11.70 for 0.6 liters of cola? Absolutely no way! - I had Knipp for the first time, which was very greasy. The fried potatoes were pretty unseasoned and were also swimming in fat. Since it was the first (and last) time that I ate Knipp, I can't say whether Knipp might not have to be like that. But the fried potatoes just weren't good: the first time in years that I didn't finish my restaurant food even though I was hungry. - My companion's gnocchi in mushroom cream were homemade and solid, quite tasty but nothing special. And then just too expensive for the price. Conclusion: High price, average food doesn't give me 4 stars. You can go here, but you really don't have to.

We had to wait a long time for the duck, and when it finally came, it was unfortunately very tough.

We ate good cake and drank coffee. Everything was fine.

Dear Jürgenshof team, we have that today Celebrated my mother, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and mother-in-law's 90th birthday with you and can recommend your location 100%. Everything was perfect and it was a real pleasure for us to celebrate our birthday party with you. The food was very, very tasty and the service/staff were friendly, competent and very accommodating. We will be very happy to come back :-)

Great experience in this traditional restaurant. Probably the best you can find in this part of Bremen, facing the Weser River. Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. There are vegan and vegetarian options. Worth a visit at any time of year. In the summer, outside, it must be even more pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Really great restaurant with high prices, but very great service and ambience. The restaurant staff are real professionals and take care of the guests and are always friendly and helpful. Even though it is very busy at Christmas, we never had to wait long. The service staff were very friendly and accommodating! The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy. I recommend everyone to visit the Jürgenshof, it is very worth it. Thanks to all employees who made the day even better :)

Unfortunately the wine prices are far too expensive

Yesterday we had our Christmas party at the Jürgenshof. The food, the ambience and especially the service of the house were great - we all felt very comfortable and will definitely come back! Thank you very much again :-)

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. The food was very tasty, especially the roasted goose. Inside there is a fireplace that gives the place a homey atmosphere. You can also bring dogs, which is a big plus. This place is great for family reunions. The Weser River flows nearby and there is also a stadium where you can take a walk after visiting the restaurant.

Unfortunately there was alcohol in almost every meal. Terrible. I had to take a bite out of necessity. Fried potatoes absolutely fatty and not crispy. Waited a long time for the food, not really warm. Waiter was arrogant and not polite to us.

Fish soup was okay. Main course lamb shank. Unfortunately dry. Bottle of water €8.90 Service attentive and friendly.

A very nice restaurant with great service and very tasty food! My husband reminisced about his childhood memories while eating “brown cabbage full” and the ravioli with chestnuts and pears on parmesan foam were also very good!

Always good! However, it also has its price. A few main courses between 20-30 euros and the rest is about that. But why soft drinks are only offered in 0.2 liters on the menu - e.g. Cola, but not larger ones (that's just enough to moisten your mouth) is a mystery to me. And a 0.2 like that costs over €3. A spritzer isn't even on the menu, but there is... That's why a star deduction.

A wonderful but expensive restaurant. However, it's worth it, with a wonderful atmosphere and flawless service. There are many options for birthdays and other celebrations, from private rooms for ~60 people and individual, separate tables, all of which are the best you can get in the area. Perfect for all ages.

Went to Jürgenshof for coffee yesterday. It's always very pleasant there, to eat, have a snack or have coffee - always great. The service and the ambience are also top, absolutely recommended. Update: The Jürgenshof was always very good. The service still is. The quality of the dishes has declined recently - unfortunately. My last disappointment was plaice Finkenwerder style - both obviously pre-cooked and kept warm, one of them with oil. Served with hard potatoes - I can hardly say it, but they had a consistency like they came from a jar, hard and way too salty. I was there with a guest, obviously there were two smaller parties in the house at the same time. There was a lot to do. But then it would be better to reject the reservation request than serve these dishes. When I was there with friends a while ago, I thought the risotto had been a mistake and was also completely over salted. A pity. The atmosphere in the Jürgenshof is great. But I will still try to eat well there. At some point it will get better again.

Jürgenshof: Certainly great ambience, great food, great service, but also very expensive. Unfortunately we're out of there. Can only be done, if at all, on very special occasions. But apparently you have to have very well-heeled guests here. Sorry....

We went there by bike and sat on the beautiful terrace. Simply beautiful in the greenery and under the trees.

It couldn't be better! We had lunch at Jürgenshof and were very satisfied. The dishes served (starter: prawns in a delicate chili sauce that is addictive; main course: half farmer's duck with red cabbage and dumplings) were without exception extremely tasty and well prepared and just as well served and presented. We would particularly like to note that all dishes were served very hot on warmed plates. About the service: Very attentive, friendly and quick. Our dog was offered water right at the beginning of our visit (we hadn't sat down yet). Conclusion: gladly 5 stars plus. We will be back! What we did in early summer: The ambience, service and food were again impeccable and first class. We enjoyed our stay and will visit the great Jürgenshof again if we come to Bremen again.

Solid, tasty German cuisine and very friendly service. However, drinks prices are completely overpriced, bottle of mineral water Vilsa € 9.00, Aperol Spritz almost € 10.00.

- The customer is never king - No matter how much you can do wrong, the location and ambience of the Jürgenshof remains appealing. Our food was of good quality, although not outstanding. We had reserved a table for 10 people. Set up for 8. It can happen and has been corrected. When I made the reservation I pointed out the occasion of the 89th birthday. However, nothing happened. No little decoration, no congratulations - just nothing. A pity. At our table, a guest ordered a Müllerin-style sole. As we only discovered later, there was no price on the menu, just an indication of the daily price. Much later, when we looked at the bill, we realized that we had been charged 75 euros for a 500 gram sole. This made it more than twice as expensive as the most expensive dish, but without the not unfriendly waiter first telling us the daily price or asking about the quantity. Maybe something like that can even happen. But there is no way that a complaint should be addressed in such an unfriendly and unprofessional manner! At first, managing directors are supposedly not even in the house, only to then escalately intervene in a discussion. The customer should be king and not treated as an unpleasant troublemaker. By the way: according to the pricing regulations in restaurant law, the following regulation must be observed when designing food and beverage menus: 1. "From to", "approx." and "from" prices are not permitted 2. Information such as “price based on weight or size” is also not permitted Violations of the PAngV can constitute administrative offenses. For example, a price is not stated at all, not correctly or not completely. Failure to comply with the PAngV can result in fines of up to EUR 25,000. Anyone who violates such a regulation actually only has one choice: apologize to the customer and bake very small rolls. Therefore only one star.

We came to eat asparagus based on a recommendation. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. As soon as I was cutting it, I noticed that the asparagus “could” have done a little more. Overall it was more than al dente. But well, tastes are different and it just wasn't for me. Consequence: I will prefer to eat asparagus somewhere else in the future. However, the service staff didn't seem to be having their best day either. Overall seemed a bit listless. When I made the reservation, I specifically stated that it was a birthday party and unfortunately this was completely ignored. Not that bad, but for us it was a “special” occasion and therefore expectations of a “nice” evening were high. About the evening itself - the aperitif glass was cracked and when I pointed this out, there wasn't even an apology. It was then replaced. The subsequent question as to whether we could have a picture of the toast was initially answered in the negative without any explanation (we actually looked a bit sparingly). However, this was later possible and the previous rejection was justified by the fact that there was just a lot going on. The orders for more bread and another drink with the main course were simply forgotten. And only when the request was asked again was a response given. Anything can happen, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right for me at all that evening.

An absolutely beautiful place. We were very happy with the service. Cappuccino was very tasty.

Of course asparagus is popular. Once with cat ham and then with salmon. Home-peeled boiled potatoes, the same whipped hollandaise sauce, a poem.

Today we went to the restaurant to eat kale. A large group of older people. The service was good and tried very hard, the first round of kale was slightly smoky, the second round was so burnt that the peel could be smelled from a distance of 40 cm, even an attempt to mix it with pee failed. Older people don't necessarily like it and don't complain, it's just that in the parking lot they say they won't come back. Even hours later I still have the taste of Rus in my mouth.

Upscale gastronomy. Small menu with a seasonal focus. Great kitchen. Extremely professional service. And beautiful ambience.

Also the green around it... But the highlight is and remains the food! Great restaurant inside, attentive, nice staff.. even cloth napkins ;) Very, very great!
