Unfortunately it hasn't gotten any better, overpriced, impersonal. It's a shame how such a beautiful place to stay is scrapped. Not recommended.

Well…. I once knew something nicer/more personal and tasty....🤷‍♂️ Now a self-service operation with 2 nice, but probably rather unskilled workers in the outdoor area. When I asked for some more bread, it was brought to me without any problem. Chili quite expensive... Currywurst with fries for €10.90 is not good and yet quite expensive… Hmm…..

Unfortunately I can't provide any information because the restaurant was closed even though it said it was open on the internet. But the view is beautiful. Now I can write something about it😁. Very friendly and nice service staff. The food was delicious, even if it was just a little something.

It's a self-service service, which makes it look like a snack bar. Cake was great and you can eat really well. Good offer and also diverse. From the outside it could use a little love.

It's always nice to curl up there and enjoy the view of the surrounding area with a coffee.

Were here for the first time with the Kawa today. Nice view from the outside terrace, you can have a good time here. Herring tip was delicious, with fried potatoes (a few). The lady wanted salad (but nothing on offer) so decided on cake, which was delicious. Everything makes a neat impression. Overall 4.5 stars

Visited this restaurant again after a long time. Unfortunately totally disappointed because it has become a self-service snack bar. I get better quality food and drinks with decent service in other restaurants.

Coffee and cake attracted us to this place. Both tasted very good. The cake slices are a good size. The staff in the checkout area (self-service) were very friendly. The restaurant also scores points with its great view of the Rhine. We would be happy to come back.

We arrived by bike and decided to sit in the outdoor area of ​​the Zur Rheinfähre Xanten restaurant. Since there were no chairs in sight and other guests had already set up their own camping chairs, we followed suit. The view of the Rhine was beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an unpleasant encounter. A voice from the restaurant informed us in an uninviting tone that we were on private property and that we should either leave or pay €10 to use the lawn. Alternatively, we could also buy a coffee. Unfortunately, this unfriendly request dampened our mood somewhat. It would be desirable if the staff were more friendly and hospitable towards guests so as not to affect the otherwise beautiful ambience.

The restaurant is located directly on the banks of the Rhine with great views of the river. On Sundays and public holidays, when the weather is good, it generally gets very crowded. Walkers and cyclists have the option of taking a passenger ferry. Many motorcyclists and motorhome drivers meet here and can also stay overnight with their vehicles. There is a relaxed, relaxed atmosphere and there are many contacts. The restaurant staff is professional and very friendly. Naturally, parking spaces are limited.

Very fast and friendly service - although self-service - for everyone - things went very quickly in this sunny Sunday weather and with the big rush for cooling refreshments or smaller snacks. The iced chocolate tasted delicious. We enjoyed the wonderful view of the Rhine with boat traffic here on the terrace.

A small excursion restaurant on the pedestrian ferry on the Rhine in Xanten. It's very busy on sunny weekends and the counter for ordering drinks and picking them up is overwhelmed. This also applies to the kitchen, which is quite small...but the food and drinks are good. A nice view of the river and the opposite bank.

We were here on our motorbikes at the Zur Rheinfähre Xanten restaurant to take a break. An excellently maintained location. The outdoor area is located directly on the banks of the Rhine. Everything well maintained and clean. The interior is very spacious. You can stay here with larger groups even in bad weather. You also have a very nice view of the Rhine and the large ships from the inside. A great ambience, inside and outside. The staff is friendly and nice. You have to order and pay for food and drinks at the counter. You will then receive a transponder that signals when what you have ordered is ready for collection. The food is of good quality and is ready quickly. There is also a large cake counter with good-looking pieces. There are enough free parking spaces, including for motorcycles. And there are storage boxes for bicycles. Everything is great here and highly recommended as a restaurant. We'll be back soon.

08/2024 We stayed on the motorhome pitch for one night. Price 15 € without electricity, water and no disposal. The use of the toilet is only possible during the opening hours of the restaurant. There is a very nice terrace right on the Rhine... See ships and enjoy the evening. The restaurant is self-service with a normal price/performance ratio. The selection is limited but tasty. I found the rolls in the morning for 80 cents a bit expensive, but they were very tasty.

Nice café directly with a view of the Rhine. I was riding my motorcycle and had a drink there. Unfortunately, there are very few parking spaces for motorcycles, and unfortunately there is gravel everywhere on most of the area.

Currywurst/French fries almost inedible. One of the worst I've eaten in recent years. Hunger drove it in and that for €8.90. Drinks are also totally overpriced and this is when you pick them up from a beer cart... So you save a waiter and pay fine. For me personally, this will definitely be the last visit to this place.

After our bike tour around the Rhine, we take the ferry (super people) back over to the place where we started hours ago. But before we translate, we each eat a Jägerschnitzel with fries and a non-alcoholic Weizen. Which is strongly recommended!!! So, you can eat very well here and the staff is always friendly and perfectly organized, even when there is a lot of crowds. After our perfect bike ride through a very, very beautiful landscape, the perfect conclusion always follows. A big thank you to all the staff who make our lives more beautiful these days.

Everything is nice and good, but for the price of breakfast the first coffee/cocoa can also be included. I find it rather cheeky when you have to pay extra for the first drink.
