The greeting and service I received here was excellent especially as I had previously left the nearby Zer Borse because they where unspeakabley rude. Having spent much time in Croatia the food was without doubt a Germanic version but very nice none the less.

Large plates, not very exciting in terms of taste. Price/line is right.

Cozy decor and delicious food. We had the mushroom schnitzel and the Dalmatia dish. Wonderfully seasoned and more than enough. Prices here are still nice compared to the Netherlands, for example.

Nice restaurant, super nice service. Even though we didn't reserve a table, we got one and it was quite busy. The drinks and food were served quickly. The dishes tasted very good, and you really can't complain about the price.

Tijdens ons verblijf in Xanten hebben we een eerste keer dit restaurant gekozen omwille van de ligging aan het Marktplein. We zijn er een tweede keer naartoe gegaan omdat we er tevreden waren en we het een beter restaurant vonden dan de andere die we geprobeerd hadden. Wat maakt Dalmatien tot een goed restaurant? We hebben er 2 keer lekker gegeten: we kozen telkens voor een hoofdschotel (1 x vegetarisch) en waren uiterst tevreden over de kookkunst van de chef. De gerechten waren smakelijk bereid. Ook de bediening verliep vlot en vriendelijk. In de zomermaanden lijkt het aan te raden vooraf te reserveren, want de plaatsen buiten zijn vlug ingenomen, hoewel het interieur ook best sfeervol is.

We were in this restaurant this evening with four people and two dogs... Full five stars from us... The food was plentiful and very tasty... Schnitzel, Montenegro, highly recommended... Very nice service... attentive and very polite... We would come again and again... Unfortunately we are just vacationers.... Thank you for everything.......

The food was OK. I find the parking facilities to be a disgrace. You have to pay 2 euros for one hour of parking. Every additional quarter of an hour 0.80 euros. You can quickly add up to 6 euros just to go out for something to eat. Of course, you also have to have a lot of Euro 1 pieces with you because that's the only way the machine will accept them. This way you can also revitalize the inner cities. Meant ironically, of course.

Leckeres Essen, große Portionen, fairer Preis. Uns war lediglich das gefüllte Hacksteak etwas zuuuu salzig, sonst alles supi.

We were welcomed very friendly. My companion's drink was a Fanta and cold, unfortunately my cola was at room temperature. It was really warm inside, but there's nothing you can do about that weather. The service was always friendly and accommodating, the food was well prepared and tasted very good. The prices are very good (value for money). If the cola had been cold, the candle had been lit on the table and there had been a bit more room, I would have given it 5 stars.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Service is always friendly and courteous. On this day the crowd was significantly higher than usual, but the waiter pointed out this fact when assigning the table and that a waiting time was to be expected. But this was completely within the limits for us and if I want to get delicious fresh food, it sometimes takes a while. As always, we had a delicious meal.

Very inconspicuous from the outside, but a nice restaurant inside. On the menu you will find many different delicious dishes, even those that don't match the name. The salad buffet isn't visually high-end, but the salad is super tasty. Price performance is excellent

After the meal there was no more service, so we paid and had our dessert in the ice cream cafe

So 1000 stars if it were possible for “everything” around it and, best of all, the meaty delicacies. For me the grill plate is the first choice. My wife sometimes takes the funny Bosniak and it's always perfect. Also not to be despised is the always fresh salad bar. So as Tönisvorster, Dalmatia is chosen as needed because of the good service and the deliciously prepared meat dishes. Thanks to the owners and staff for such a culinary pearl in Xanten!

In my opinion it is a place for winter. The back seats are very dark and it was very cool. The service was very friendly. My meal was underwhelming; The liver and meat were not hot enough or had already cooled down too much. Also the pork steak was a bit tough and chewy. The fries needed a little longer. The plates were sticky underneath on the edges. The price-performance ratio is not right.

Very tasty Croatian with the typical Balkan dishes. In contrast to other restaurants, cevapcici and minced steaks filled with sheep's cheese taste freshly prepared here. For the main courses you can put together your own starter salad at the salad bar. There is a large selection between green salad, bean salad, tomato, cucumber, corn, etc. as well as salad dressings. The plates feature the typical combination of rice and fries with meat. Ketchup and mayo cost an additional 50 cents per pack. Onions and Ajvar are served (free of charge). Parking is available right in front of the door and toilets are in the basement (perhaps a bit difficult for older people). In terms of price, it's not a bargain as each main course costs around €18-20. But very tasty and fresh!

Kroatische und andere Grillspezialitäten direkt am Markt. Sehr freundliches Personal. Die Speisen schmackhaft und reichlich, aber nichts herausragendes. Gute Küche halt. Durchaus wieder, wenn wir ein weiters mal in der Stadt sein sollten.

Very tasty and good portions at good prices.

We ordered the farmer's platter and the Dalmatian platter. Overall, the portions were quite small for the price of just under 20 euros per person. The liver lacked flavor and the pork steaks were so overcooked that you could only eat them with a sip of liquid. The salad buffet wasn't particularly noteworthy either. People who don't like onions or are allergic to them must avoid 50 percent of the salad selection. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is clean. The taste of the food was ok, but we probably won't be coming back.

Nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Balanced menu and very tasty prepared. Whether fish or meat, everything is tender and juicy. I would now describe the amount on the plate as generous. In other words...you get full.

A great place with great food, but unfortunately that day we had to wait for over an hour for our meal, maybe there were a lot of customers, but I think we should have been informed that we would have to wait that long this time.

What a lovely place to have some drinks and food on a hot day. The waiter was very accommodating and spoke good English too. I had the vege dish which was made vegan with no sauce. Loved the salad, was very fresh and nice to add some good nutrients in before my main meal. What a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

On the market in Xanten, nice restaurant and everything from the condition to the food was great. Also toilets clean. I was the only one who saw it in the hallway and it was really pulling .

After three years we went there again yesterday (April 22, 2024) for dinner. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer nearly as good as it once was. We got a seat in the very back room. It wasn't clean enough there. Window sills with corpses of flies and spider webs. The furniture is very old. The food was mediocre, the service was still nice and friendly. ‐‐-------------------------------- ------ We haven't found a better Yugoslavian restaurant yet, absolutely top. Meat wasn't fried to death, portions were very good. Waiters nice and friendly. If you don't leave here satisfied, you should generally avoid Yugoslavian restaurants. Full 5 stars from us and that is really very rare. 100% recommendation, it's a shame we're just passing through.

An excellent selection of delicious, homemade food.

This government's rigid approach to increasing VAT from 7% to 19% is probably not just affecting this restaurant. For example, there were exactly 3 counted potatoes and a manageable ladle of spinach as a side dish. There was also no garnish of any kind. Despite my understanding of the situation, I don't know whether the guests should be used as scapegoats. We would still carefully consider another visit to this otherwise very cozy restaurant.

The service was courteous, asking for more drinks or if everything was ok. The food was once very good, the other time it was good…. On the second plate the pork was just too dry, and the salad buffet was also very good.

Been there again after a long time. It was disappointing compared to before. The food was lukewarm and carelessly prepared. The accompanying salad from the salad bar consisted only of preserved things. Overall, a chip shop couldn't have done any worse. However, service and ambience were still good

Essen an sich standardmäßig in Ordnung- fleisch, Fritten, roter Reis, Beilage salatbuffet. Preis ok, Menge nicht zu viel. Abzug, weil wir eine gute Stunde auf das Essen warten mussten.

Leckeres Essen tolle Atmosphäre nette Bedienung. Genau das was man braucht.

Ich esse extrem gerne gefüllte Hacksteaks (oft auch Bifteki genannt ;-)) Das hier hatte ich war das Beste ever. Schön dünn, triefte nicht vor Fett und war kein „Einheitsklotz“ wie sonst leider so oft. Der Salat vom Buffet ist super frisch und das Fleisch auf dem Grillteller ist auch der Hit. Gottseidank war das Steakhouse wo wir eigentlich hinwollten , ohne Ankündigung im Netz geschlossen / Danke! Nach Dalmatien kommen wir immer wieder gerne.

Preis-/Leistung passt leider nicht - halt Xantener Mitte.... Mild gewürztes Essen. Unordnung um die gesamte Theke. Einrichtung 70er Jahre. Die Bedienung hatte heute leider auch keinen besonders guten Tag.

Nettes Ambiente und nette Bedienung aber das Essen war leider nicht so lecker. Das Schnitzel ist ein vorpaniertes Industrieschnitzel mit so gut wie keinem Geschmack und die Soße dazu war zum einen zu wenig und zum anderen auch relativ fad bis gar nicht gewürzt. Die Wartezeit auf das Essen war auch sehr lang.

Service war freundlich und hat uns bedient das Essen sah sehr lecker und frisch aus. Geschmeckt hat es auch super. Wij kwamen op de terugreis van de kerstmarkt toevallig in Xanten uit, wij hebben bij Dalmatiërs erg goed gegeten het eten is van goede kwaliteit en de familie doet hun werk met passie al met al zeker een aanrader voor als je in Xanten bent
