Enoteca Siciliana in Xanten

First of all, the pizzas were top-notch; I've rarely eaten better ones. (5 stars) However, we ate there on a day when an art fair was taking place in the pedestrian zone, and all the tables were occupied. There was only one server on duty, very friendly and competent, but overwhelmed. Why wasn't there a second server? The appetizer was served quickly, but the pizza that followed took over an hour; some other guests were already getting restless and annoyed. (-1 star) The path to the restrooms (broken faucet on the sink) leads through the storage area, past the open entrance to the kitchen, which is borderline. (-1 star) You should definitely come when it's not too busy to avoid waiting too long. As I said, the service was friendly, and the food was good when it arrived.

I have to say it! It was the worst pizza ever... Starters from a jar, no Italian cheese?! ... I'm really sorry, but when the menu starts off by saying everything is freshly prepared, and then something like this happens. No go, a rip-off... Add to that the outdoor area is littered with dead flowers and cigarette butts (on the floor and in the flowerpots). The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice... but then they don't set up any tables outside!! And it's not dog-friendly...

First of all: the service is very friendly and attentive... but we waited over an hour for two pizzas, and when they finally arrived at our table, one of them wasn't the one we had ordered. We then paid for the drinks we'd consumed up to that point and left hungry. Other tables also complained about the excruciatingly long wait. It's a shame, though, because the pizzas themselves look delicious.

Absolut unfreundliche Bedienung, vermutlich die Chefin des Hauses. Kinderunfreundlich . Kinder offensichtlich unerwünscht. Absolut nicht gastfreundlich. Einmal und nie wieder.

The restaurant was very good, and everything went smoothly from the reservation to the meal. The portions were really large and the value for money was also excellent! The staff could have been a bit friendlier when you asked a question, which is why we lost a star!

I've never seen a restaurant so unfriendly to children. The waitress first verbally attacked us and then ignored us. Apparently, children are very much not welcome.

I've been to Enoteca Siciliana three times now and have been completely satisfied each time. The food arrived quickly and at the same time, so no one has to watch anyone else eat. The owner is friendly, cheerful, and simply personable. The pizza tastes really good. Nice and thin crust and baked to a golden golden hue. The pasta was also great. I also really like the atmosphere: quiet, small, and relaxed. You can have a normal conversation without having to shout at each other or be stuck table to table with your neighbors. There aren't any crowds walking by, as the restaurant is located on a lovely side street near the park. For me, it's definitely a place where I can enjoy good, and above all, relaxed, food.

It is an enoteca and not a pizzeria. A variety of wines are available for sale. The kitchen prepares meals and pizzas as well as antipasti and also pasta. The couple apparently manages the business alone. The waiting time can be spent drinking wine and chatting. There is no provision for a bit of bread. We would have liked to have had something with the salad, but it was over. Been there twice and was happy with the food. Small businesses of this type have become rare, have regular customers from the area and have charm that a large business cannot offer.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The woman who worked there was extremely rude just because we didn't want to order drinks. Her behavior was very unfriendly and you got the feeling that she didn't care about our presence at all. The service was poor, she was ignorant and showed no interest in us as guests. I absolutely don't recommend this place - their negative attitude can really ruin your day. There are many better restaurants where you will be treated with kindness and respect.

Ich bin als Xantenerin mit meinem Partner spontan erstmals hier gewesen und bin absolut begeistert von der sizilianischen Küche! Wir haben mehrere Gerichte/Vorspeisen geteilt. Die Meeresfrüchte und die verschiedenen Fischsorten sind geschmacklich grandios! Gebettet auf buntem Salat mit leckerem Dressing und begleitet mit einem guten Glas Weißwein perfekt und sehr angenehm für Magen und Seele. Die Auswahl der Speisen ist liebevoll kreativ, z.B. sehr geschmackvoller Ziegenkäse mit Pinienkernen umd Walnüssen auf buntem Salat und leckerem Dressing gibt es eben nicht überall. Absolut empfehlenswert! Wir kommen wieder und werden weiter empfehlen. Vielen Dank!

I expected more but was disappointed. Reception mediocre, too busy on the phone. Bottles of wine that you want to consume there suddenly become 10 euros more expensive and then you end up with 29 euros for the cheapest bottle. Spaghetti cooked too long. Owner's younger children are very present. Too bad no repeaters address.

Small but nice. Pizza was very good. Unfortunately you can't order 1/2 liter of "house wine". Should be possible in an enoteca. In addition, you can only pay with cash.

I only found out about the restaurant by chance. We've been there twice now and it was great! Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Yes, it is a bit smaller, the tables may not be the designer furniture some people expect. The service may take a little longer because there aren't tons of waiters/waitresses running around. But that's exactly what creates the cozy, rustic atmosphere. We all enjoyed it (four of us the first time, two of us the second time). The food was well prepared and well presented. The service (the owner) was very nice and attentive. We talked for a long time because my girlfriend's family also comes from Sicily. We will definitely come back because we prefer a cozy atmosphere rather than an oversized restaurant with a high level of noise and an impersonal atmosphere.

The food was good. I was in the restaurant with my family and a small dog. It was a warm day, I asked for some water for the dog. That was asking too much. There was one excuse after another as to why it wouldn't work. We were the only guests. I've never experienced anything like this before. I swallowed my anger because my sister had invited me and had just recovered from an illness. But they will never see me again. The superficial friendliness of the lady of the house is obviously just fake.

If you're in the mood for burnt pizza, terrible service and hours of waiting, you've come to the right place! The visit started with a 10 minute wait until the first waitress finally managed to take our drinks. As smokers, we asked for an ashtray - what came? A full, dirty ashtray that the waitress simply left in front of us without emptying it first. After an impressive 15 minutes, the drinks finally arrived. The order was placed and then it was a matter of waiting. Over an hour later the four pizzas arrived. Three of them were so burnt that you couldn't even cut them with cutlery - I don't even want to get started on the taste. As if that wasn't bad enough, the tables shook every time I tried to cut the pizza. It felt like we were having a little dance party with every cut with the fork. You could almost think that the restaurant offers a free workout! When the first waitress asked if everything was tasty, we pointed out the burnt pizzas. Your Answer? “If you had said something, we would have redone it.” Sure, because we want to wait another hour for our food when our stomach has been growling for ages. After that she just disappeared. I seriously wonder how pizzas like this can even leave the kitchen. But apparently quality doesn't play a role here - neither for the owner nor for the staff. The second waitress then topped it all off: “Many people like it that way.” Aha, burnt pizza as a delicacy! That was our first and definitely last visit. Never again.

We came here looking for a small restaurant. The first impression convinced us straight away and we stayed. We couldn't have made a better decision, that would become clear very soon. It started with the very nice employee who welcomed us, followed by an incredibly friendly and warm lady whose service we were able to enjoy. Well, and then came our pizzas. Everything about them was just perfect. Crispy pizza base, delicious ingredients and just the right amount of cheese - a delight for our taste buds from the first to the last bite. This small restaurant Enoteca Siciliana alone is a reason to come to Xanten. I then had to tell the owner personally that his pizza was by far one of the best I've had so far. THANK YOU SO MUCH for allowing us to eat with you!

Leckere Pizza, aber miserabler Service (der Juniorchefin). Der begann, als der bestellte Rotwein ca. 23 Grad war und stark nach Holz schmeckte, was in der Karte (z.B. über "Barrique") nicht erkenntlich war. Darüber wurde die Juniorchefin gerufen, die am Tisch ein Diskussion über "ist bestellt" begann. Diskussion mit Gästen ? Trotz mehreren Anfragen musste etwas mehr als 1,5 Stunden auf die Pizza gewartet werden. Auf die Beschwerde, dass später gekommene Gäste ihr Essen schon hätten, kam nur die Entgegnung, der Auftragszelltel sei heruntergefallen, das könne doch mal passieren. Ja, das kann, aber es gab keine weitere Entschuldigung, geschweige eine kleine Wiedergutmachung (z.B. ein Kaffee, Schnaps o.Ä) . Alles in Allem leider eine bei Problemen überforderte Juniorchefin.

I hope I just had a bad day... We ordered 3 actually quite simple dishes from the menu (no pizza) and unfortunately had to wait over an hour for the dishes. All the pizza orders around us were served much faster. When the food finally came (only after asking, which was answered rather distantly), it was OK. Recommendation: Proactively pointing out delays and perhaps simply putting out some bread with dip can significantly ease such a situation. You can also slim down the menu if you can't prepare all the dishes in a timely manner.

Went for dinner with 2 people last night. Service was poor, food was average at best. We felt more like a burden than a guest.

Five of us ate in the restaurant after making a reservation in advance by phone. My father sat at the end of the table because his chair was crooked at the edge and it was uncomfortable for him. He was immediately asked by the waitress to please sit back so that she could serve from there. The drinks didn't come at the same time. The pizzas were tasty but unfortunately too hard. During our stay, other guests appeared and were rudely turned away, even though there were only 3 tables occupied outside. “The meal takes an hour and others have to eat first.” Something like that can also be explained in a friendlier way. The chairs and tables outside are reminiscent of a snack bar - it's not a really "Italian" restaurant. The last time for us.

I recently ordered spaghetti for just under €14 and was disappointed. The food seemed pretty lifeless as it was just basil mixed with cream, something you can quickly make at home. I expected that there would be at least a few basil leaves, a small tomato for decoration or some cheese - that's how Italian cuisine is known. But none of that was there. It was also missing basic things like oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper that are on the table in most restaurants. In my opinion the store has lost quality. Next time I'll probably go to the competition. A pity.

Food was ok, although the cheese selection wasn't convincing. Service with a temporary waitress was also ok, even if you didn't clear the glasses before paying and, above all, not all of them were emptied. But it's ok for a small, simple restaurant. But what's really a shame is that the boss was completely overwhelmed and therefore unfriendly. Small mishaps in the restaurant are not excused, but insulted. Unfortunately, our conclusion is that we cannot recommend it.

Nice little Italian restaurant with typical southern Italian dishes. Quiet ambience.

Pizza, super tasty, sauce from it was very tasty, edge was super crispy. I tried Tiramisu from a friend, just right, not too sweet, not too bitter, not too wobbly and not too crunchy either. The shop itself was really nice, the light and the decoration made you feel very comfortable. And because everything was so good, the pizza was really cheap and wasn't as expensive as others I know.

Wow, tomato sauce was awesome. Food came in 15 minutes and service was nice. Never had such a good pizza. Price was completely justified

We felt very comfortable, friendliness was great, food was great. Never had such good pasta dishes before. You could taste fresh, selected food. This small restaurant has its own touch, no hustle and bustle, peace and quiet. We'll come back when we're in Xanten again. And the rocket salad was a hit. The sea bream with a delicious sauce was super tasty. It's a shame that we ran out of white bread... The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo was also excellent, but not cheap.

We went to the Enoteca on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Nice, quiet, small restaurant, nice service, and very good food. We had an appetizer platter, Tortellini Siciliana and Canneloni. Everything very tasty!!! We will come back or order something for home.

Food top. There were 10 of us present and the dishes were served in such a way that we could virtually eat together. Nobody had to wait for the other. The restaurant inside is relatively small, at least for this size of group. When the weather is nice you can sit in front of the restaurant on Klever Street. A very nice atmosphere.

A good, small restaurant in Xanten. The dishes are very tasty and the prices are reasonable for Xanten standards. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food came at the same time and was hot. There aren't many tables, so it makes sense to reserve a table. Compared to other restaurants in Xanten, the atmosphere is very quiet and pleasant to have a conversation with. There are also some tables outside, which are very comfortable in the pedestrian zone.

Reasonable restaurant. We had Mozzarella and a spaghetti carbonara, but acceptable but not very special. The 'trick' with mozzarella is very good and fresh mozzarella and really fresh biological tasty tomatoes. Also too much vinegar and oil on the mozzarella. The bread on the other side was nice and warm.

Very inflexible and absolutely not customer friendly. We wanted to have a cheese plate with a little sausage and salami, "I can't enter that in the cash register" even though various starters and sausage/cheese plates were offered on the menu... Very inflexible and customer-unfriendly.

Een leuke kleine eetgelegenheid. We namen beide een pizza en die waren precies zoals ik ze ken uit Italie. Heerlijk dus. Als dochter van een Italiaanse pizzabakker kan ik nogal kritisch zijn over pizza's maar hier was niets op aan te merken. Aanrader dus.

Das Essen war sehr gut, besonders die Pizza und Pasta. Auch die Musik und Atmosphäre. Aber der Kundendienst war sehr schlecht, deshalb würde ich nicht wieder hingehen, obwohl sie vieles Gutes anbieten.

Essen recht teuer, Ambiente wie im Lieferservice. Aber dass die Bedienung, nachdem man zwei Stunden konsumiert hat und die Begleitung noch ein volles Glas hat, eine Getränkebestellung um fünf nach zehn verweigert, "weil sie ja schon zu hätten" - ohne vorab am quasi Last Order zu sagen - DAS geht gar nicht!! Marginal schon fast: Der gezeigte Antipasti Teller war für 14.- in der Provinz auch echt sehr mäßig bestückt... Schade insgesamt eine Enttäuschung.

kleine, einfache enoteca in der altstadt von Xanten. hier haben wir ausgezeichnete pizzen gekriegt, dazu einen guten primitivo. die bedienung war freundlich und witzig. alles in allem ein gelungener abend mit lieben freunden. die tagliatelle mit trüffel haben wir nicht versucht.

Wir waren nicht zum ersten Mal dort. Diesmal war alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit. Das Essen war immer schon sehr gut. Diesmal war auch der Service sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Ich als Sizilianerin muss sagen die Küche bzw das Essen hat wenig mit Sizilien zu tun ! Extrem lange wartezeit, Salat für ca 13€ hätte mein Sohn 12J besser hinbekommen! Salat auf den Teller gelegt und ausser dicke Pfefferköner sehr unangenehm beim essen und etwas Balsamiko war nichts an Würze drauf. Wenn man die oberen blätter zur Seite gemacht hat wegen den vielen Pfeffer war der unter Salat komplett blanko/natur ! Sono molto delusa!!!!

Durch Personellen Engpass mussten wir sehr lange warten, jedoch war es die beste Pizza, die ich je gegessen habe.

Es war heute eine sehr große Enttäuschung, da ich doch mehr erwartet hätte. Wir haben über eine Stunde auf die Vorspeise gewartet, die uns seh gut geschmeckt hatte und somit die Erwartungen hoch waren, an das nachfolgende Hauptgericht. Wir wartet darauf noch mal eine halbe stinde. Pizza war lecker, aber die drei gegrillten Fischfillet auf einem Salatbett, entpuppte sich als einen fertig gemischten Eisbergsalt (genau dies gibt's bei aldi) drei Scheiben gurken und drei Scheiben Tomaten. Der gegrillte Fisch war lediglich meliert und in der Pfanne angebraten, diese hatten auch keine Gewürze gesehen. Nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit (Nein es kam keiner der gefragt hatte wie es schmeckt oder ob wir noch etwas möchten) sind wir dann rein und haben nach der Rechnung gefragt. Beim bezahlen teilten wir unsere Enttäuschung mit, die Dame war zwar freundlich, aber meinte nur das sie es der Küche weitergeben wird. Der Service war OK, mehr auch nich, da kann ich das unfreundliche nicht bestätigen. Schade, wirklich sehr schade. Nach dieser Enttäuschung werden wir dort nicht mehr Speisen, und dabei sah es so vielversprechend aus. Ach und nebenbei, wir waren nur zwei Tische, alles andere war noch leer 😏, da gerade erst geöffnet war. Fazit Personal war freundlich (Alle drei die wir in der Zeit hatten), aber nur so viel wie muss. Man wartet extrem lange, Pizza und Vorspeise war lecker, auch die Brötchen. Der Fischgtillteller (Nr 41) war keiner und der Salat... Beides absolut 👎 Von mir leider keine wirklich Empfehlung.

Sehr Lecker, freundlich, wirkt authentisch, tomaten nh bisschen komisch geschnitten aber symphatisch

Bij ons bezoekje aan Xanten zochten we iets om nog even iets te drinken. Omdat het toen toch al tegen etenstijd was bedachten we ons hier maar een pizza te gaan eten. Het restaurant is vrij eenvoudig, zou bijna zeggen cafetaria-achtig. Toiletten zitten via een deur achter in een gang/magazijn. Dit alles hoeft verder natuurlijk geen probleem te zijn want bij dit soort gelegenheden kan je soms zeer goed eten. Bij het bestellen van de drankjes begon het al dat veel drankjes er niet waren op dat moment. (Dat is pech dacht ik nog). De bestelde pizza's werden na een nette/ redelijke tijd aan ons tafeltje geserveerd. Met het bestek dat we gekregen hadden was het bijna "een gevecht" om de pizza te snijden. Bij de eerste hap die ik nam had ik gelijk iets "dit proeft niet goed" en wou deze liefst gelijk uitspugen. Daarna nog uit een ander stuk van de pizza een stukje genomen. Maar dit was niet beter en ik ben niet verder gekomen dat die 2 happen. Aan gegeven dat deze pizza niet goed was. Proefde niet fris (vers) zou zeggen (bijna iets) bedorven. Er werd gevraagd of ik nog wat anders wou, wat natuurlijk netjes is, maar was inmiddels mijn eetlust totaal kwijt. Mijn vriendin heeft haar pizza maar voor de helft op gegeten. Deze pizza was redelijk te eten maar door klein stukje proeven van mijn pizza was ook zij haar eetlust kwijt. Bij het afrekenen wel de 2 pizza's en de drankjes compleet moeten afrekenen. Dat vind ik een service van NUL. Dure etentje voor 2 misselijkmakende hapjes en een halve pizza.

Die Lasagne war fantastisch, die Pizza war auch sehr gut. Das beste hausgemachte Tiramisu, das wir je gegessen haben. Und der Service ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein Restaurant zum Wiederkommen

Leute 😁 ich hab hier eine super crosse gut belegte Pizza gegessen, würzig mit frisch geschnittener ital. Salami und Aubergine belegt. Tolles Aroma! Wir haben draußen gesessen. Das hätte etwas schöner sein können, aber dafür fahren am Ende der Straße keine Autos. Es war sehr ruhig. Hat mir gut gefallen. Was ich auch immer wichtig finde ist das Stille Örtchen.... Es war super sauber und erstaunlich groß. Ich werde wieder dort essen beim nächsten Xanten Besuch! PS: Man kann mit Karte bezahlen 😉

Ich muss den zahlreichen negativen Rezensionen leider Recht geben. Die Pizza ist wirklich überdurchschnittlich gut (würde behaupten, die Beste in Xanten), Pasta und Salat mittelmäßig, aber die Bedienung lässt in jeder Hinsicht zu wünschen übrig. Man wartetet ewig und unnötig lange, wenn der Nebentisch bezahlt und man ebenfalls bezahlen möchte, wird man unfreundlich zurückgewiesen und wartet dann noch mal eine Ewigkeit, bis die Dame dann endlich zum Tisch kommt und ohne zu Fragen, ob es geschmeckt hat, einfach nur den Betrag nennt. Also hier werden wir uns sicher nicht mehr blicken lassen. Schade eigentlich.

Wir haben von 6 Abenden in Xanten 3 Mal hier gegessen. Wunderbar! Nette Atmosphäre, sehr freundlicher Service durch die Chefin und phantastische Küche. Die gemischte Vorspeise musste immer sein. Vegetarische Lasagne, ein Traum! Doradenfilet in Weinsoße, himmlisch! Babycalamar, eines der Leibgerichte meines Mannes: so gut und köstlich zubereitet waren sie noch nie. Tagliatelle mit Trüffeln, super! Saltimbocca und Rindersteak, ausgezeichnet! Dazu die leckeren Weine... Leider passte nur einmal Nachtisch, der war auch toll. Weiße Tartufo mit Zabaione-Soße. Wir freuen uns auf's nächste Mal!

Ich ging eigentlich sehr gerne dorthin. Das Essen ist auch jetzt noch sehr lecker, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt, das Ambiente ist einfach und sehr angenehm. Die Bedienung der Gäste lässt jedoch wirklich zu wünschen übrig. Jeder Gast scheint zuviel und so wird man behandelt. Es gibt keinen Guten Tag oder Abend, die Karten werden einfach auf den Tisch gelegt. Anstatt direkt nach Getränken zu fragen geht die Dame erstmal wieder und kommt eine Weile später wieder…. Bei älteren Personen wird die Pizza nicht geschnitten, selbst wenn danach gefragt wird. Die Bedienung hat stark nachgelassen, das Essen jedoch nicht. Schade, ich als Xantener werde nicht mehr hingehen.

Draußen auf der Terrasse gesessen und sehr gut gegessen. Freundliche und unaufdringliche Bedienung. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

45 Minuten wurden wir erfolgreich ignoriert. Nachdem wir uns selbst eine Karte organisiert hatten, kam dann auch die Bedienung. Sie konnte aber nur die Getränkebestellung aufnehmen, es muss ja schließlich der Reihe nach gehen. Das Essen kam dann eine weitere Stunde später. Gut Ding braucht Weile. Die Pizza war gut, das Saltimbocca eine Katastrophe. Sehr trocken und aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach vom Vortag. Alles in allem - da ist noch Luft nach oben!

Netter Italiener. Pizza, Salat und Nudeln waren prima.

Leider war die Bedienung wenig freundlich und hat uns wirklich lange ignoriert und war sehr langsam in der Bedienung!

Sehr freundliche, familiäre und italienische Bedienung und Atmosphäre. Essen sehr lecker! Klein aber fein!

Durch Zufall abends entdeckt- kleines italienisches ristorante TOP Pizza - dünn,knusprig, sehr leckerer Teig , sehr gut belegt Pasta Gerichte auch top- Dessert: Casata - sehr empfehlenswert! Inhaberin zuvorkommend- am 2. Abend sehr nette und fast familiäre Unterhaltung- Und Preis/Leistung - super!!!!! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!!

Sehr sehr gute Pizza und alles zu guten Preisen! Sehr freundliche Bedienung und das essen kam auch sehr zügig UND das beste hausgemachte Tiramisu das ich jemals essen durfte :) wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Die beste Pizza weit und breit! ❤️ schade, dass ich nicht aus Xanten komme.. :( das Tiramisu ist auch mega lecker. 😋 Dazu noch freundlicher Service, was will man mehr? :)

Das Essen war sehr gut...nette Bedienung

Wir haben in der Enoteca unseren Hochzeitstag mit der gesamten Familie ( 21 Erw.) gefeiert. Wie wir es uns gewünscht hatten, gab es ein Mehrgangmenü bestehend aus warmen und kalten Anitpasti, Pizza, Pasta und Dessert. Auch der Sektempfang, die gewählten Weine und der Grappa(😂) waren spitze. Die lange Tafel war schön eingedeckt und alle haben sich auch Dank des tollen Services sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder. Vielen lieben Dank an die Enoteca

Prima pizza. Verder wat kaal. Loopt niet. Geen geweldige kok. Salade met crème die balsamico(bah). Redelijk prijzig voor een eenvoudig hap tent. Geen enoteca meer.

Die beste Pizza weit und breit!! Und leckeren Wein gibt es auch.

Sehr gutes kleines gemütliches Restaurant. Waren spontan hier und hatten Glück.
