One of the best restaurants I know. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. The food is simply delicious! Every bite is a taste experience. I really like to order the beef fillet with potatoes and vegetables. The fillet is always cooked to perfection and the side dishes are also perfectly prepared and really taste like what they are. The ambience is stylish and calm, even when it is busy.

Highly recommended. The service is very good, you can see immediately if something is missing, very nice ambience, food is very good, you can sit outside when the weather is nice. You don't have to make a reservation. We always got a parking space. The flair of the city does the rest. Always a pleasure.

May 1st, outdoor area, 2 pers. Got a table relatively quickly, was lucky, service was there quickly and took the order. Ordered 1 gr. beer and a bottle of water. Drinks also came promptly. But what was that...? a bottle of water 0.7l but not Pellegrino water like at the next table but a table water in a neutral bottle, medium bubbled. Round two do the same again, again the same water in a neutral bottle. Food arrived at a delay, first the pizza we ordered and 10 minutes later the pasta. So far OK for now. Since the portions were a little too much given the temperature today was 26 degrees, we asked for the leftovers to be packed up, which was done after we asked for the bill. Sooo and then the bill came... they actually charged €12 for the medium sparkling water and €0.50 each for the packaging, which then led to a proud sum of €60.60. Respect. That doesn't work at all. You're being ripped off here.

We were there for a birthday. The food came quite quickly and tasted good too. There is clearly a deduction for the way you treat guests! Some people were clearing away while others were still eating. In addition, one guest's plate was taken away during the meal, and at the mother's advice, the lady also left the plate there... people kept asking if we wanted to order anything else and we had the feeling that they just wanted to get rid of us. Therefore I will not visit the restaurant again. It's a shame because the food was tasty even though my order was wrong!

Went to the theater today with my wife and children. We asked for chairs for the children but only received one. We then had to hold the little one on our lap while we ate. This meant that we couldn't really enjoy our food. There was quite a lot going on, as there was also a market in Xanten. The noodles were really tasty, even if it wasn't spicy enough for me and the additional fillet tips I ordered were a bit tough. I had a slight feeling that they weren't rider fillet tips. Unfortunately I had a long thin hair in my food. When I complained about this, they looked at me and said nothing about it. Since the children were restless, I took the children and went for a walk with them. My wife then paid and complained again that there was a hair in the food. All the waiter said was, “I don’t know anything about it.” It was probably the last time there.

What a fantastic place, you feel like you are in Italy. Delicious carpaccio and Pizza Calzone. Dessert was of course ice cream and that was also excellent. It is certainly not really cheap, but the service, experience, atmosphere, taste and experience justifies the price level.

As usual, very good Italian cuisine with changing daily specials. Personal and friendly service without being intrusive. Just as suitable for a quick snack in between meals as it is for a cozy dinner with friends.

Nice staff ......and delicious food

We drove from Duisburg to Xanten specifically to eat there. After one of the employees explained to me that I had to pay for the toilet, even though I explained several times that we were guests and I could only use it after a second employee came along and explained that the colleague liked to make jokes, I was extremely surprised that the toilet was not exactly clean, and the toilet seat was far too small and attached crookedly. The overall impression of the first 10 minutes ensured that we preferred to eat somewhere else.

New menu...new prices. Almost €7 for a bottle of tap water doesn't have to be the case.

Overall, care is taken to ensure that you leave the table quickly for the next customer. The salad with salmon didn't ask for a dressing, and the standard dressing was barely noticeable as a homeopathic can. A bottle of water Premium Purezza water is nothing more than tap water bottled in reusable glass bottles. The lettering on the outside was almost washed off. I have nothing against sparkling water, it should just be offered and sold as tap water. Tap water at the table shouldn't cost 5.90 euros. My pizza was ok, the bruschetta starter was tomato pieces on pita bread, which I don't know from other Italian restaurants. Conclusion: It is a fast food restaurant, to linger and personal cuisine from a family-run restaurant with passion and love, I would go somewhere else next time.

Really nice Italian restaurant, with authentic Italian dishes (carbonara with real guanciale and no cream, in Germany, is a rare thing). The food is delicious, and the service is quite good. The food and dessert prices are fair, but the wine is too expensive for the quality it has. All and all, it was a very pleasant dining experience and I will return for sure.

I know Theatro actually has a good reputation. Food is okay, but somehow nothing special. Everything is always the same at the Italian restaurant. I now have higher standards. Service was very forced and intrusive. In my opinion, fake friendliness. Ambiance is nice. Since I spend a lot of time abroad, I know restorations that are much more creative, hence my expectations. Well...In Xanten we are in the countryside, but I think you can expect something more exciting for your money. Still, overall a good restaurant in the area.

A great restaurant in my adopted home of Xanten. While we were renovating our house, we regularly picked up food here and were repeatedly asked if we would like to eat in the restaurant. We are here more often now and enjoy the hospitality and the delicious food. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food changes and is of great quality and the ambience is very pleasant. Simply great. Best pizza and more... So far we have eaten pizza in the outdoor area as part of summer bike tours. There, the Teatro was particularly characterized by its fast service, even when there were large crowds, and always friendly service. Now in the winter blues, we have reserved a table indoors. The atmosphere is pleasantly calm. The service is very attentive, you feel welcome. The food is high quality, nicely prepared, without much fuss.

We sat comfortably outside on the market square and enjoyed the sun. Ice cream, waffles and the warm drinks were very tasty. Were friendly in Italian Greeted and served quickly. Will come back there next time we visit Xanten.

We had a great evening at this pizzeria! The service was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the stay particularly pleasant. The atmosphere is really great – cozy and inviting. The restaurant offers very good food, but service and friendliness leave a lot to be desired. This begins when you enter the restaurant and continues with table service. The first drinks come quickly, no further drinks were asked for. We were only able to pay after asking three times and waiting for over 20 minutes - at times you had the feeling you weren't even there.

December 28th, 2024, called and spontaneously got a table for 7 people including 4 children and had a very tasty meal. Very nice service, good food and fair prices. 110€ for 7 dishes including drinks. Gladly again!

We went here one time. Great service the people were very nice also at our child. Second time today we want to drink some beers here at 16:00 (so not yet diner time). We were send away! Because the restaurant was only for food. Otherwise you need to go to the icecream part? First of how am i too know?? Were is the sign?? Second of why dont bring this more nice? Maybe walk over to see were is a table. Also the guy couldnt speak good english so we sidnt understand we were "send away". So the guy just keep looking mad at us making us feel extremely uncomfortable. We go to the church every week. We like to drink and sometimes eat at this place. Never again! Lost costumers for life. Lets hope you lose more business since you dont respect you costumers. Shame on you

Unfortunately we didn't have good experiences. We arrived at 8:15 p.m., the table was booked for 8:30 p.m. We were then first greeted with the words "Signora, you can't just come at 8 when the table is at half past eight." welcomed. Nice! It's very loud in the restaurant (good Christmas, all the tables are full). A group of 20 people came directly after us. The man had made a reservation for the gallery in September, received a confirmation and was not allowed to sit there that evening because there was a group of 25 people. Not ideal either! I ordered pasta made from a parmesan wheel with porcini mushrooms and truffles. Someone also came with the parmesan loaf. This remained untouched for a long time. Then my father's casserole came, the cart with the loaf of Pamersan was pushed away again, we waited 5 minutes until the three pizzas from the rest of my family arrived. My noodles still haven't shown up. It took another 5 minutes until I was asked where my food was. Yes, I asked myself that too. Then someone came running with noodles. In the noodles there were three leftover porcini mushrooms and otherwise cold noodles. There were no truffles. I started eating. Unfortunately, I have never eaten such bad pasta from a loaf. Cold and the cheese had zero flavor. After a few more minutes, another person came with fresh truffles and rubbed them over my pasta. The dish wasn't on the menu, so I didn't know the price. In the end we had to pay 22 euros for the cold, tasteless noodles. The pizzas were ok, but nothing exceptional. My mom asked for the ice cream menu for dessert. Due to the late hour there were no more ice cream sundaes, just individual scoops. My mom then decided on a scoop of ice cream. When the waiter brought the ice cream, he lectured my mother about how far he now had to walk for a scoop of ice cream. Overall, an uneven, unsatisfactory experience.

The restaurant initially scored points with good food, which was of good quality and tasted convincing. Unfortunately, the positive impression was marred by a number of organizational and service-related deficiencies. The reservation was initially recorded incorrectly, which led to unnecessary work in advance. Although the actual number of people was clarified, when the group arrived, the change was responded to in an unprofessional manner: Instead of dealing with the situation politely, guests were laughed at, which was not only inappropriate but also disrespectful. The service overall was disappointing. A missing chair at the table caused confusion, and when a solution had to be found, the affected guest was rudely reprimanded. Drinks sometimes had to be ordered several times, which indicates poor organization. In addition, the staff generally seemed annoyed, which gave the impression that guests were more of a burden than welcome. The ambience also left a lot to be desired. The lamps at the table were not charged, which spoiled the overall impression. The cutlery appeared to be of poor quality and did not fit the standards of a large restaurant. Another major drawback was the inadequate facilities of the sanitary facilities: with only one women's toilet, the capacity was clearly too low, and the inappropriately attached toilet seat seemed poorly thought out. In summary, it can be said that the kitchen is positive, but the service and organization showed clear weaknesses. For a large restaurant, it is essential to bring both the professionalism of the staff and the equipment to an appealing level in order to meet the demands of the guests.

Were there last Saturday. Impossible! A mishap happened to a young service worker. A large beer tipped over, unfortunately on my jeans and blouse. Very unpleasant for me, everything was really wet. No apology, no coffee, grappa, or anything like that was offered She only said that she had scolded the waitress. There were four of us. First that came Lasagna, 5 minutes later two pizzas And then again after 10 minutes finally the last pizza. Never again Pizza diavolo had puddles full of it Oil. I've never had such a bad diavolo. The food was great again. The spaghetti carbonara in particular is highly recommended. The pizza was also delicious. However, the knives were quite blunt and it was difficult to cut the pizza. And no one even asked during the meal whether they would like to drink something or have an espresso after the meal or something similar. We'd love to come back but small improvements here and there would be great

We've been there many times but it's never been as bad as the last time we were there. One is checked in and it is cleared away even though the other person is still eating. It's a shame, it was actually always very nice there.

Staff were very friendly and one server spoke English, he was great. Pizza, pasta, everything looked incredible. I recommend the calzone for its power packing flavor. House made tiramisu also looked good, but i did not personally have any.

It was really nice to be able to learn a lot about the Romans in a simple way. The Arial is very large and there is also a beautiful children's playground that leaves nothing to be desired. Admission 9 euros is completely okay. I didn't think gastro was good, you shouldn't rely on it. Next time I would bring something myself, there are picnic areas.

Our plan to eat there failed; we never got around to it at all. We were sat at a table and left to sit for 20 minutes. Then a lady came and asked if we wanted to eat something (the tone was already repulsive). We said yes and were given the cards. Another lady appeared I then asked if we could order something to drink, even though the tone was a bit rude. While we were waiting, another table was served more than courteously, but unfortunately we still weren't. After 45 minutes a waiter came and wanted to take our order, I then told him that we didn't want to be fooled and that we didn't want to be served with this arrogance, we would now like to pay for our drinks and then leave, he did We apologized, but then the question was, when would the food be on the table and how would it taste????? We looked for something else and it was the best decision!!!! We absolutely do not recommend it!!!! If I could, I definitely wouldn't give it a star!

We were greeted very friendly and shown to a free table. The atmosphere is very appealing and you feel like you are in good hands. It's clean and tidy. (also the toilets 👍) The pizzas we ordered were very tasty. Pizza Calabrese and Pizza Quatro Stagio - highly recommended. The price-performance ratio is right here. The next time we visit our old homeland, we will definitely stop at the Teatro restaurant in Xanten again. 🙂🌞

Visited Teatro again after a long time. The place was full, a good sign. Luckily we had made a reservation. The interior was completely renovated a few years ago. Tastes differ of course, but I previously thought it was much more atmospheric and (for me) more Italian. Unfortunately the music was also less appropriate. Anyway, the food was old-fashioned delicious! The service certainly wasn't. It all took a very long time, the service was not very alert and not enough for the amount of customers. The wrong pizza was replaced, but we did not hear any real excuses. All in all, we had a nice meal, but it was no longer worth repeating as it used to be, which is a shame.

The Ristorante Teatro can i.S. Food selection and quality are definitely recommended. However, we had bad experiences with service on the second day. After we had eaten well and extensively the day before (for no small price!) we just wanted to have a drink the next day in the late afternoon. However, we were sent away quite rudely by the waitress, as service was only possible if we ordered food and we had to give up the table again. Very disappointing experience.
