Restaurant zur Kutzeburger Mühle in Cottbus

Very tasty food and very friendly service. We'd love to come back for dinner here again. It's also a lovely place for a bike ride with family and friends, or even a motorbike. There's a horse farm right next door.

We went there for lunch and got a table quickly despite not having a reservation. Very friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food. The mustard pickle soup was a truly delicious discovery!

Two of us were there for dinner around 6 p.m. Taking our order was a bit bumpy, and we were asked several times afterward what we wanted. This young staff, who don't look older than 16 and are doing their first student internship there, aren't quite up to rebooking. If you don't take the food from the pre-prepared menu as it is, they slap a hefty €2 charge on every single change. Even though you'd actually asked beforehand for a standard meal. Absolutely arbitrary. The food was incredibly delicious, but the service was a little too rude. The table was simply cleared in the middle of the meal, even though people were still eating. We think some training should be given on cellar etiquette. And finally, we received a hefty bill of almost €70 for two people! That price would have easily covered three people at other restaurants. Insane. So we'll definitely stay away from this place in the future, before our wallets get completely emptied there 😵😵‍💫

We had a super delicious coffee and had really nice service. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, this time we weren't impressed. Several times, waiters simply walked past us without asking. Finally, I asked the owner behind the bar if the free table was still available. His reply: "The tables are occupied." – without any offer of an indoor alternative or any other solution. On the positive side, the prices have been adjusted and are no longer as high as they were two years ago. That's progress. However, I recently read the current reviews and unfortunately have to confirm them: the service is still lacking. It's a shame that neither the previous nor the current management is able to ensure a functioning and hospitable service.

Unfortunately, the food doesn't match the price. It was tasty, but €15 for a farmer's breakfast without sauce isn't right when you get three potatoes and four eggs with half an onion and a few herbs. I hope this review inspires improvement.

After a sample meal at the Kutzburger Mühle, where we absolutely loved the horseradish schnitzel, we ordered a birthday dinner for several people on September 14, 2025. Unfortunately, we discovered that our food lacked a lot of seasoning, and we were especially disappointed with the table we were seated at. A dirty, shabby table runner and not even a candle, even though we had ordered it as a birthday meal. It's a shame; we had hoped for something a little more festive.

We had a wonderful evening at the Kutzeburger Mühle restaurant. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and truly made our evening perfect. The ambiance is also extremely cozy – we felt completely at home. One of the most beautiful restaurants in Cottbus – beautifully situated directly on the Spree River and with an attached riding stable. The ambiance is unique and invites you to linger. The cuisine is authentic, fresh, and exceptionally delicious. Particularly noteworthy are the welcoming hostess and the consistently friendly, attentive service, which make the visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience. A place you'll always want to return to!

Unfortunately, the owner was very unfriendly and responded to two simple questions in an extremely snippy and harsh manner.

If you're asked to wait outside the restaurant, "You'll be seated," the waiter should actually acknowledge you and not leave you standing there in the rain without a word. If I order pancakes with coffee, they should be served together, and not the pancakes 10 minutes after the coffee. The prices on the menu are very high. A la carte orders are only available after 5 p.m., so what do guests do who don't want dessert with their coffee? We miss our predecessor, Norman, where we had a much better experience! We returned to the restaurant after a long time and were disappointed again! I ordered an iced cucumber soup. What I got was more like a cucumber salad in a warm tureen, which tasted bitter and had a piece of ice in it. All for €8!

If you like horses and other animals, you can simply relax here and indulge yourself with very good gastronomy

Unfortunately, the weather was bad and we were looking for an alternative, so we stumbled upon this restaurant on Maps! Last-minute decisions are always the best! We highly recommend this restaurant! Peaceful and relaxed atmosphere! Incredibly delicious food and very, very friendly service! Excellent value for money! If we're ever in the area again, we'll be happy to come back! The best herring roll I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxed.

It was a hot Saturday when we reserved lunch. Our table was on the green lawn, shaded by a tree. A cool breeze blew. Birds chirped, and horses grazed in the adjacent paddock. Sheep wandered freely around the grounds. Simply idyllic!!! The menu was straightforward, home-style cooking. Very tasty and plentiful. The absolute highlight, however, were the yeast pancakes, which aren't served until 2:30 p.m.!!! You simply have to try them!!!

The restaurant at the 'Kutzeburger Mühle' has deteriorated considerably! Recommended for cyclists as a stopover, but nothing more! The ambiance is gone, and the outdoor area is completely neglected and not inviting! No seating, and it's dirty!

We arrived at the restaurant around 3 p.m. and asked if we could sit at a table that had just been vacated by other guests. The waitress cleared away the ashtray. Unfortunately, she didn't clean the table and didn't even explain that there were no hot dishes. The menu informed us that it was coffee time, but we opted for a spiced meat and a goat's cheese because we were hungry. The portions were very small, with stale white bread, and the prices were quite reasonable. In the end, we were the only guests on the terrace and were simply forgotten. An experience that didn't really make up for the ambiance and location. We definitely won't be coming back.

A beautiful, modern-rustic ambiance that simply makes you feel at home. The service is very friendly and prompt. The menu is fantastic, from "standard" to vegetarian and vegan, everything is there! And as if that weren't enough, it tastes amazing too! Definitely recommended!

Sunday bike ride, destination? Kutzeburger Mühle, always a good choice! We've visited the stand outside the farm several times and were always satisfied, but today we took a closer look at the farm café, and we weren't disappointed. Friendly service, coffee and pancakes came quickly, the prices are perfectly reasonable, and the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. We'll be back.

After a successful pony ride, we actually just wanted a cold drink, but then decided to go straight for a proper lunch. We had a very friendly waiter who brought us drinks quickly and also gave us the time we needed (we were there with two children and three adults) to find a suitable meal. The food was brought quickly, considering there were about 15 people sitting in the courtyard! We preferred to sit inside due to the heat. The nuggets and fries were delicious, and the rice pudding was also a hit. We hope we were just unlucky with the baked potatoes, or rather, it was a bad day, as some of them were still a bit raw. But the quark tasted delicious here too! The prices are fair, and the entire place is super tidy, clean, and inviting. The owner, Joanne Bramer, took the time to ask us a few questions and was very personable, accommodating, and down-to-earth! We'll definitely be visiting the restaurant again :)

The staff is always friendly and always greets you with a smile... You are warmly welcomed upon arrival and this great treatment continues throughout your entire visit. I have been there several times and will continue to visit this beautiful place very often in the future. The food is excellent, both in terms of taste and presentation on the plate... There is also no shortage of great events for the whole family. The people at the mill always come up with very nice things so that the visit will be remembered for a long time, whether young or old... So all thumbs up from me. Finally a restaurant where it's great with children! We were here on a Sunday with 2 children and 7 adults and made reservations in advance - luckily! It was very well attended. The cookies and ice cream were very tasty. The highlight is the environment and everything around it! Small playground, sunny places, different animals, nature... Really particularly beautiful!

Today we were very disappointed and drove back without eating. With today's nice weather, there was of course a lot going on everywhere. There is good food in many restaurants, but only places with good service are visited again and again. The service staff at the Kutzeburger Mühle doesn't work at all. The chef is great and so is the operator. Whatever they throw out, the waiter at the front tears it back down. We were not greeted and completely ignored. We had to wait in another café (no problem at all) but we felt welcome just by saying hello and paying attention. Well, that's the small but important difference!

We were there today for Women's Day breakfast. It was super tasty and, as always, an incredibly beautiful atmosphere! There was even a little gift for each woman. Always happy. No matter what the occasion.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant. There is no failure, but unfortunately there are no highs either. We didn't like the ambience, especially the light and the acoustics should be improved. Everything seemed a bit loveless and uncomfortable. Unfortunately the food was just average.

We stopped in transit and were very impressed. Even though it was just after 2 p.m., we still got lunch. The menu is trustworthy and clear with a good selection of delicious dishes, including, of course, regional specialties. The service was very friendly and accommodating, we were welcomed by the friendly young boss. The waiting time for both the drinks and the food was very short, even though the dining room was full. The food was high quality and tasty, the prices were reasonable. We will recommend the restaurant and come back.

The Christmas brunch on Christmas Day was a complete disaster. There was nothing decorated, no Christmas flair and the food was absolutely not appealing for a Christmas brunch.

We had dinner there on December 26th, 2024. Of course we made a reservation and were still sat outside at 3 degrees with a tarpaulin and a patio heater, that in itself was a disgrace, the menu was slimmed down so there was no real choice... Food came to the table cold after a long wait...quantity instead of quality that was clear to remember. Not particularly recommended in terms of taste either. Never again.!

We were here for the first and last time. The older service was unfriendly and absolutely unwilling to compromise. There was no children's menu, the starter was forgotten, the main course was greasy, the rice pudding was completely overcooked and, last but not least, an insufficient portion for adults and the price was far too high. Apparently the name of the restaurant is paid for here.

Found it spontaneously via Google and drove there without a reservation. Very nice welcome from the staff with the information that the kitchen only opens at 5:00 p.m. (we were there at 4:30 p.m.). No problem for us. After ordering the drinks, we received information from the kitchen that we can already order, thank you very much! Food came quickly and the portion was very good! Feel free to come back in spring/summer if you see something.

Am Sonntag haben wir einen wunderbaren Abstecher zur Kutzeburger Mühle gemacht. Das selbstgemachte Eis am kleinen Kiosk direkt an der Spree hat es uns angetan – es war einfach köstlich. Wir haben unser Eis in der warmen Sonne genossen, mit direktem Blick auf die Spree – eine perfekte Kombination aus leckerem Genuss und traumhafter Aussicht. Der Ort war gut besucht, und einige Besucher haben sogar die Gelegenheit genutzt, in der Spree zu baden. Neben dem Eis gibt es auch andere leckere Kleinigkeiten, wie eingelegte Gurken, selbstgemachte Bowle, Kuche, oder auch Deftiges – definitiv einen Versuch wert! Ein idealer Ort, um zu entspannen und die Natur zu genießen.

Yesterday we celebrated my mom's 90th birthday with the family. We received a very friendly welcome, everything was lovingly set up. The lunch buffet was varied and very tasty. Even at the coffee buffet, no one left without cake. So delicious, whether it's the cherry cake or the lentils. The staff was very friendly and always had an open ear for us. The surrounding area also invites you to take a walk, there is a lot to see, so I can only say "go there and enjoy the time" and see for yourself. I'll definitely go there again when I'm in Cottbus. Until then, all the best.

Ambiente sehr schön, vor allem kinderfreundlich. Kellner sehr nett. Aber leider war mein Essen nicht empfehlenswert. Bratkartoffeln waren verbrannt und sehr matschig. Steak war sehr sehnig. Kein Dressing bei der Beilage. Für den aufgerufenen Preis, absolut unangemessen. Schade.
