Cavalierhaus in Cottbus

We were very disappointed and would like to quote the lunch menu: "Lusatian delights meet princely refinement. The region's cuisine combines with the prince's cosmopolitanism." Ahhh! And they even offer oysters. Ohhh! You could order Königsberger Klopse (meatballs). Unfortunately, terrible. Confirmed upon inquiry, they served frozen goods!!! with an unseasoned flour slurry as a sauce, with three capers floating in it. For the price, it's outrageous.

Breakfast at the stylish Cavalierhaus is definitely highly recommended. The table was lovingly set, with something for every taste, and the baked goods were fresh. We were thoroughly satisfied. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive.

A beautiful place in a stunningly beautiful park. The food was once again excellent!

A repeat visit to Branitz, with another stop at the conveniently located and inviting café. Actually, I had a similar experience/result there: the atmosphere, as mentioned, was inviting, thanks in part to the castle and the beautiful park. The prices were quite steep, but the quality was decent. The restrooms were clean, but very cramped and awkward, especially if you're not alone, to the point of risking injury if the door is opened carelessly or roughly. The service was slow and, unfortunately, only moderately friendly. The vegan offerings were more than limited. In a café of this price range, you'd expect something different these days. It's a shame; there's still plenty of room for improvement. Perhaps we'll try again next year.

I can only speak highly of the restaurant. The location is excellent, and the outdoor seating is very pleasant. The menu is small, and the prices are quite high. The service is friendly and prompt. Overall, it's worth stopping by for a visit to Branitz Palace and Park.

We were there shortly before 4:00 PM for a bite to eat. The menu is very small; for vegetarians, there's only potatoes with quark and a quiche. Unfortunately, there's nothing for vegans. The quiche was really very small but very tasty. The service was mixed; one lady tried to smile, while the other servers seemed listless and rather annoyed. What a shame.

After a friendly welcome and service, our first disappointment was to find ourselves with only three hot dishes to choose from at 4:40 p.m. The pancakes were too thick, very dry, and tasted of nothing. After we informed the staff, they literally told us, "The pancakes must have been in the microwave too long." For a restaurant of this caliber, I really expect something different. Guys, this is unacceptable!

We had a delicious meal today. Unfortunately, the waiter spilled a half-full beer glass after we paid. It would have been nice to have been offered a replacement. Unfortunately, no one offered.

The food is expensive and tasteless. The lettuce isn't fresh. The meal is dominated by cottage cheese. This is not recommended.

A cozy atmosphere in the heart of Branitz Park, friendly staff, and excellent food and drinks. We arrived spontaneously and were extremely lucky that a spot became available.

An excellent restaurant. We sat outside in the beautiful weather, shaded by the trees. The food selection 🥘🍻 was limited but excellent. The food was delicious and the drinks were very chilled. The service was attentive and very friendly. We then returned for coffee ☕️. A very good latte and a really large, delicious ice cream 🍨 sweetened the journey home. We'd gladly return.

We tried out the picnic basket today. Everything was prepared and packed with love. Super delicious snacks for two. And Branitz Park is always worth a visit. Many thanks to the team at the Cavalierhaus.

Beautiful restaurant in a historic building with a pleasant terrace. The service is friendly, quick, and courteous. Our small meal was also very tasty. 2025 - Visited again and again found it to be excellent.

A gem with three lovingly furnished rooms, ideal for an overnight stay if you're coming from further afield and want to dine at the "Lou" restaurant.

The Cavalierhaus is truly worth a visit. We had a delicious meal here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can also host wonderful parties here. We can recommend this restaurant 100%.

Beautifully located in Branitz Park, we were lucky to get a table for six at lunchtime. The interior resembles a cafeteria and doesn't exactly exude the atmosphere of a Prince Pückler palace, but everything is clean and tidy. Prices have risen everywhere, but we were really disappointed with the value for money. The portion size of the Grützwurst (grützwurst) at €14 was more like an appetizer and not filling enough to fill you up. It tasted very good, though. The roulade was very small (more like half a roulade), but very tasty. The same goes for the Königsberger Klopse (meatballs), although the sauce was quite watery. Herring with remoulade and fried potatoes was a disappointment. The herring was great, but the remoulade was extremely greasy, with no cucumber or onions in it—more like a rich mayonnaise with traces of herbs. The fried potatoes were hard to find; there were lots of tiny pieces, nice with bacon and onions, but no larger pieces. We also mentioned this to the service, but apart from a "I'll tell the kitchen," nothing else came. We would have simply expected a greeting from the kitchen and an apology. It seemed like it was a training kitchen, which is great in itself, and of course, things can go wrong. However, at this price point, you can expect both reasonable portions and a better way of dealing with criticism.

Breakfast in the Cavalierhaus with friends - a dream: a breakfast menu at a fair flat rate (all you can eat and drink) that leaves no special wishes for food or drinks. Our highlights were the oven-fresh croissants, the egg Benedict and the beetroot hummus. Plus friendly and professional service in a stylish ambience. Then a walk through the beautiful Branitzer Park. Heart (and stomach) - what more could you want?

Menu very clear. But the food was delicious - high prices - obviously given the location!

The staff needs to be better trained. Not professional. The so-called lentils are simply too thick and not fresh.

Two visits: once buttermilk plins and wheat beer. The Plins was slightly above average, but more down-to-earth than particularly sophisticated. We were pleasantly surprised at the Easter breakfast in the event room - classic regional products were enhanced with small, harmonious additions. The service seemed a bit uncoordinated at times, but overall a pleasant impression.

Were there in the afternoon. Location great, service nice, but the food didn't have much in common with a Lausitzer Hefeplins. It didn't taste fresh at all, more like it had been warmed up in the microwave and was significantly worse than what we've experienced in the past, both from the Cavalierhaus and many other restaurants in the region. Really a shame.

Loveless overpriced food in the afternoon. The yeast plins are thick and dry, so it's hard to get them down. A very small quiche with charred spinach and made from fluffy ready-made puff pastry for 10 euros really doesn't have to be.

Very beautiful castle complex. It is cozy in the Cavalierhaus and the breakfast is very exclusive and rich. Staff very accommodating and friendly.

It was a wonderful evening. An unforgettable meal and a team that looked after us with a fabulous love that I have never experienced before. Thanks! I often stay overnight in Cottbus, and then only in the Cavalierhaus. I'm now a regular guest and I enjoy the snack plate that awaits me after a day's work with a tea in peace in my wonderfully cozy room in the peace and quiet of the park.😍

Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Kenne das Haus seit der Eröffnung und halte es für ein großes Geschenk für die Cottbuser Gastronomie und die Region! Waren Anfang März (wie auch schon im letzten Jahr) zum 9- bzw. 10-Gänge-Menü dort und es war fantastisch. Plus die passende Weinempfehlung und der qualifizierte, sehr sympathische Service dazu! Das Schöne ist: Es ist super niveauvoll, exklusiv und schick, aber auch nicht so abgehoben, elitär und eingebildet, dass der Besuch zum Krampf wird. Man kann bei diesen Abenden übrigens jederzeit in die Küche und sich erklären lassen, wie und wo gerade was gemacht wird. Die Leute in der Küche sind sehr offen und freundlich. Wenn man also mal wirklich toll essen gehen (und solche tollen Läden unterstützen) will - hin da!

Good food, fair prices and a great place to enjoy.

We stayed at the Cavalierhaus for a weekend and were very impressed. The England room is furnished with attention to detail and you immediately feel at home. The breakfast offering leaves nothing to be desired. Omelette, porridge, waffles or a fresh fruit salad are prepared directly for you. The winter terrace with the mulled wine bell invites you to linger. Our highlight was dinner at Lou. A great card. The food is high quality and prepared with a lot of love. An absolute taste explosion. The entire team is very nice and accommodating. We felt we were in good hands and can only recommend it. We'll definitely be back.

Pancakes very tasty, service very friendly, the ambience still has room for improvement

We stopped there yesterday for coffee and cake after a walk in Branitzer Park - although we decided against cake and opted for plinse. Great! 😋 And because the previous article discussed the price-performance ratio: We found it very reasonable!

Ein gemütliches Abendessen mit tollem Ambiente und einer sehr ruhigen Atmosphäre, begeistert uns immer wieder. Man wird verwöhnt von einzigartigen Interpretationen der Speisen, von schmuckvoll angerichteten Tellern bis hin zum höchsten Genuss und Geschmack. Man spürt und schmeckt die Liebe und die Leidenschaft die in diesem Ort stecken. Die kleinen Details drum herum, machen den Aufenthalt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Wir sind sehr gern hier und kommen sicher wieder.

I was just eating there. Price performance is not right at all, not even the quantity of food. Maybe it's okay for a coffee, but without cake, otherwise it will be expensive. I'm from Cottbus, but I wouldn't go there anymore. Better to walk in the park

We had an unforgettable evening at this restaurant. It was a birthday celebration, and they made a private room available to us, with enough space for up to 20 people at a long table. The food was in a class of its own. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a visit for two.

We were very excited about our stay at the Kavalierhaus Branitz. At the gourmet meal in the evening at Lou, nothing was missing. We were looked after very nicely by the owner and his team and accompanied through the course menu. The food was exceptionally good and prepared and served with a lot of love and creativity, with perfect craftsmanship. We sat with cozy music and harmonious furnishings in the Sillack house. The overnight stay was very pleasant in the "England" room, very nice and elegant furnishings with a great view of the park. The breakfast was very, very tasty and also excellently presented and prepared. The choice of breakfast dishes was very large and made the morning perfect. Everything was freshly prepared to order and garnished royally. A clear recommendation from us.

The restaurant is beautifully located, right next to the park and near the castle. The furnishings seem a bit cold and uncomfortable. The food was very tasty and the employees were friendly.

The Cavalierhaus and its team in the kitchen and guesthouse are an example of extraordinary professionalism, creativity and friendliness that is rarely found. We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding here. The wonderful location in the middle of the landscape park and the non-existent curfew alone would have been worth the price! But the team topped it all off. We had several very professional and transparent preliminary discussions in which customer requests were also addressed wonderfully. During further planning, the team was always available to respond to special requests and was available to cooperate with partners. The planning was absolutely calm and stress-free. The execution of the event went smoothly and skilfully. A late start due to prior appointments was responded to silently and professionally. The food was more than a poem and the best thing we and our guests, many of whom have a spoiled palate, have had the pleasure of tasting in a long time. (We recommend the Kitchenparty) The people who criticize the prices of the food here should be told that the prices are rather low for this quality segment. After dinner we danced until the early hours of the morning and the bar staff were always attentive and courteous (until 4:45 a.m.!). After a restful night in the luxurious and (I allow myself to judge this by allergy sufferers) impeccably clean rooms, a sumptuous extensive breakfast awaited us in a separate area. At this point, the consequences of the night had already been completely eliminated and daytime operations continued alongside us. We were able to leave the house with little luggage after a wonderful day and the billing was also prompt and flawless. In short it was perfect. If you want to celebrate in a fantastic atmosphere and like good food and service then celebrate here!

We were here in the afternoon in November 2024 and unfortunately we were more than disappointed. Based on the reviews, there seems to be a clear difference between afternoon and evening dining. When we arrived at the Cavalierhaus, all the tables outside in the autumn sunshine were full. Inside, a waitress assigned us to a free table and placed the menus on it. The waitresses had a lot to do and were friendly despite the stress. All tables were not set. Our table was not cleaned after the last guests - with leftover drinks and crumbs now stuck to the back of the menu. We asked for the table to be cleaned before ordering a Fürst Pückler ice cream sundae, a Plins, a coffee and a mulled wine. Everything came quickly, but was brought one by one and without a tray, so that the mulled wine in a "farmer's juice" glass cup and the coffee partially spilled out. As described on the menu, the Plins is similar to a pancake, but rather dry and carelessly prepared. There is no butter here. The homemade ice cream was delicious, but the chocolate ice cream was a bit watery. In general, we were disappointed by the mediocre food/drinks, the furnishings, the unprepared tables, the loud hustle and bustle in the kitchen, which was separated by a glass door, and the cloakroom with clothes rail and hangers in front of the restaurant area next to the entrance. Everything seemed to be aimed at mass tourism, which unfortunately affects the quality. We didn't expect that the former one-star food would be served here and only found this out through Google. We will not be returning to the Cavaliershaus.

I was there repeatedly as a wedding DJ and was more than satisfied. The service here is excellent not only for the guests, but also for us service providers. The food was fabulous as always! I can more than recommend the location.

We were invited to brunch. Very nicely set tables. Food was served and refilled. Sometimes it took longer because there was only 1 service person for 40 guests.

Very nicely located. The staff was annoyed and quite obviously understaffed. 8€ for a liter of tap water is described very favorably as usury. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The decorative salad on the plate was brown. All in all, it's unpleasantly expensive. Absolutely no recommendation.

We ate a Plinse and a Pückler ice cream in the Cavalierhaus. The ice cream was very little for the price and the flavor of the plinse wasn't a highlight either. The service seemed very annoyed.

Reservamos una mesa dentro pero al final preferimos comer fuera. Comimos ostras Fine de Claire excelentes y enormes, muy bien presentadas, con limón, vinagreta, y pan con mantequilla. Lo digo porque esto no es tan corriente en Alemania. Y comí cerdo en gelatina acompañado de patatas. Exquisito para el calor que hacía. Y de postre, un pastel de manzana difícil de mejorar. La propietaria nos trató muy bien a la llegada, pero hay un solo defecto: las camareras son dos chiquitas orientales, ni simpáticas ni antipáticas. Insípidas. Nadie les ha dicho que sean amables, y ni se les ha pasado por la cabeza. Esto parece que es admisible y no llama la atención en Alemania. En fin.

The ice cream was okay (ice crystals in the iced coffee, Fürst Pückler ice cream in the house style was good), but the service was bad. You wait a long time until you get your order, are then ignored for a long time when you want to pay and the waitresses are emotionless.

Today we had breakfast at the Cavalierhaus Branitz. Located in the Branitz Castle Park, the location of the inn is picturesque and extraordinary. However, parking is neither possible in front of nor nearby, nor is it free of charge. Parking fees are not waived as a guest of the inn. The ambience and design of the inn skilfully capture the zeitgeist of the historic buildings inside and out, so that the Cavalierhaus can rightly be described as exceptional. But this also applies to the more than adventurous pricing, which, despite the very courteous service, exceeds anything we are familiar with. For the table setting below, which was intended for three (!) people and was far from enough for three adults (we ordered butter, toppings and rolls), we were charged a whopping 99 (!) euros. At over 100 euros, it was the most expensive continental breakfast we've ever eaten and by far not the best. We won't be coming back. No recommendation.

Mittags sind die Preise hier relativ moderat (abends wird's teurer und anspruchsvoller). Wir hatten für knapp 20 EUR leckeren Matjes mit einer grossen Portion knuspriger Bratkartoffeln. Dazu für schon ein wenig üppige 32 EUR einen Chardonnay. Der Service war aufmerksam. Die Terrasse im Grünen wunderschön. Aber man muss ca. einen km entfernt parken . Also nur etwas für Menschen, die schon ein wenig gut zu Fuss sind.

Located directly at the castle and park. Nice view of the castle from the room. Rooms well furnished. Since there are only three rooms, there is no mass processing, even with the excellent breakfast. Overall exclusive but without completely exaggerated luxury. Highly recommended.

Hier macht das Sattwerden unendlich viel Freude! Wir haben das 7-Gänge Menü genossen. Alles war ausnahmslos hervorragend und es war schmeckbar und sichtbar, dass die Köche hier mit großer Leidenschaft zur Kulinarik die Gäste verwöhnen wollen. Der Service war aufmerksam - nicht aufdringlich, gut gelaunt und hat zu jedem Gang eine detaillierte Erklärung der gereichten Speisen gegeben. Es hat viel Freude bereitet, hier den Abend in toller Atmosphere zu erleben. Vielen Dank an Tim Sillack und sein Team - wir kommen wieder!

We came here in the afternoon to have a drink and a bite to eat. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable. The ice cream was very tasty, the quiche was solid, but nothing special, there could still be some room for improvement. The atmosphere is very nice, but the toilets could have been a little cleaner

Wir waren bereits das 2. mal dort um Mittag zu essen und wiedermal enttäuscht. Begrüßt wurden wir im Restaurant mit den Worten: "Ist denn draußen kein Tisch mehr frei ". Nach längerem Warten (1/2 Std.) wurde auf Nachfrage unsererseits die Bestellung aufgenommen. Die bestellten Vorspeisen wurden dann garnicht gebracht sondern gleich das Hauptgericht. Für die Preiskategorie auch nicht überragend. Das Dessert haben wir dann weggelassen und haben nach einer Mitarbeiterin zum Bezahlen gesucht. Für ein Restaurant, dass den Anspruch einer gehobenen Gastronomie hat, war unser Besuch ein Reinfall.

Das Zimmer Orient war romantisch, gemütlich und kuschelig. Das Bad verfügt über eine Dusche und eine Badewanne, was wir sehr praktisch fanden. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das umfangreiche und sehr leckere Frühstück hat uns umgehauen. Wir hatten ein wundervolles und perfektes Wochenende in ruhiger und entspannter Umgebung.

Heute mit größerer Familie und vielen Kindern einen tollen Restaurantbesuch erlebt.Großes Lob an Küche und Servicekräfte!!!

Unser Chef , Bäckermeister Philipp Fumfahr von Bäcker Wahn , hat heute zur Weihnachtsfeier eingeladen. Nach einer Führung durch den Pückler Park ging es ins Cavaliershaus , dort wurde ein mega leckeres Essen kredenzt, der Service war phänomenal , sehr flott und freundlich . Waren am frühen Nachmittag zum Essen dort. Ein stilvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit viel Platz zwischen den Tischen, einer nachmittags reduzierten Karte und einem freundlichen Service. Außenterrasse. Das Speisenangebot überzeugte, Wildgulasch und überbackenes Gemüse schmeckten ausgezeichnet, ebenfalls die Eisvariationen zum Nachtisch. Ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und ein gelungener Abschluss eines schönen Tages.

Der ideale Ort, um für 1 bis max. 2 Nächte direkt im "Cavalierhaus" inmitten des Fürst-Pückler-Parks (in Branitz - Cottbus) zu übernachten und sich ein ausgezeichnetes Abendessen von einer exquisiten Küche und einer tollen Bedienung einmal etwas Gutes zu gönnen. Es kostet etwas, aber es lohnt sich. Das tolle Frühstück und der Fürst-Pückler-Park tun ihr Übriges. Es lohnt sich, hier zu verweilen und sich von den schönen Bäumen und der wunderschönen Parkanlage inspirieren zu lassen.

Gestern, am Freitag, den 22.09. waren wir im Lou zum Abendbrot. Wir waren total begeistert von dem Essen. Selbst, als wir die Speisekarte studierten, ahnten wir nicht, welche kreativen Köstlichkeiten uns erwarten. Alle Gänge und die liebevollen "Grüße aus der Küche" waren auf höchstem Niveau. Das rechtfertigte dann auch die Preise. Der junge Mann, welcher uns serviceseitig den Abend begleitete, voller Kompetenz, Charme und auch Witz. Danke für diesen Abend! Andre und Marion Schubert

Wir sind begeistert. Haben uns das erste Mal das Frühstück im Cavalierhaus gegönnt und es war jeden Cent wert. Sehr nette Bedienung, tolles Ambiente und die Atmosphäre beim Essen unbeschreiblich gemütlich. Für 35 Euro pro Person ist alles inklusive, vom Sekt, bis zum Croissant.. Wer sich mal was gönnen möchte ist hier genau richtig.

Für 19.80 € hätte ich mehr auf meinen Teller erwartet .

Nach über 30 Jahren Abwesenheit im In- und Ausland habe ich den Lieblingsort meiner Kindheit und Jugend, meiner seelischen Heimat aufgesucht und nach einer würdigen Bleibe gesucht und im Cavalierhaus gefunden ... .
