The restaurant is quietly located in the second row to the main street. The house makes a rustic but quite attractive impression. This includes an outdoor area where it is very comfortable to sit. The cars driving past from time to time are a bit annoying, but the situation is quite bearable. We didn't make a reservation because everything was fully booked upon request. Nevertheless, we were able to sit at a table outside in the evening upon spontaneous request. All tables were free at this point. The lady from the service was very nice, the order came quickly and the food didn't take long to arrive. The restaurant offers home-style cooking, but you can't get that anymore. My marrow dumpling soup was delicious and flavorful, but it definitely wasn't marrow dumplings. Salads and schnitzels are quite good and the portions are large enough. Overall, the food is absolutely okay for the prices quoted. Here too, as is usual in the Middle Rhine Valley, which is somewhat old-fashioned for tourists, card payments are not possible, so you should know that before visiting the restaurant. My conclusion: if you like home-style food, you're in good hands here. The price-performance ratio is right. I would eat here again at any time. Strange: The restaurant is fully booked even though many tables are free. Guests without a reservation will be turned away; others will be allowed to take a seat. Reserved signs are on all the tables even though no one comes all evening. I had the impression that the restaurant wanted to choose its guests. Strange, but since my observations are subjective, they are not included in the rating.

After 15 minutes of waiting, during which we were “not noticed”, we were informed that the tables were only available for house or hotel guests. That's a shame. They could have put up a sign or pointed it out immediately...

Today I went on a boat trip for my sister's birthday and were looking for something for lunch here in St. Goar. We found it here at Zur Krone 👍 absolute first class food 💪👍👍👍 that's 5⭐ too little and I can't understand the low ratings given. So if you're here in St. Goar you have to eat here 👍👍 very very friendly staff and ambience LG Sascha, Melitta, Katja, Thorsten, Susi, Florian

Reservation with callback perfect. 7 guests with different arrival times - great solution suggested by the restaurant. Food and drinks very tasty and good, drinks chilled. Um. We were there at 4 p.m. and we were told that the kitchen wouldn't open until 5 p.m. We went back at 5 p.m. and we were told that all the tables were reserved. Such behavior is impossible

This restaurant doesn't deserve a star for service. If you don't have a reservation, you will be asked to leave. I find it very “hospitable”

We spent a week on holiday in St. Goar and ate at the Krone three times. We were able to sit outside twice. You should reserve a table in advance. All selected dishes were 😋, the portions were very good, salad dressing was very tasty. Service, the boss was on duty and was very friendly. We would go there again. To the crown - keep it up

Delicious food. Friendly people, beautiful building. My family and I were very happy to find this place. My daughter was sick and they happily made her food to go back to our hotel room.

Stumbled upon it by chance 6 years ago. Now 6 years later we have returned as promised. It was great how we were received again and still great service and a big compliment to the chef. Of course also the service, who helped us very politely despite the crowds with a smile on their faces. The prices are also here to keep a smile on your face. Thank you again

I have rarely eaten such an incredibly good schnitzel. Price-performance ratio is right here, everything is absolutely fair. The service is great and cheerful. People like to come here and receive great hospitality. But a little tip: reserve a table in advance :)

Good restaurant in the 2nd row on the Rhine in Sankt Goar. Good and rich food, we had the "Swiss Schnitzel and Schnitzel Hawaii with the thick fries, we also say croquettes with it. Nice, boss and waiter. Due to the lack of staff, unfortunately there was a slightly longer waiting time, which was bridged with nice table neighbors. We would be happy to come back and can only recommend it.

We were there for the first time today and were positively impressed! An all-round good and hospitable service! The service was very attentive and committed. There were no unnecessary waiting times and service was quick. You didn't have to wait long for the food either because there was a delicious side salad with a well-seasoned dressing to tide you over. The place itself is very clean! All in all, we really liked it and are pleased that we have a restaurant like this in the immediate vicinity. ....and of course the food was also very tasty. ;)

On Friday evening we came from Hesse to have something good to eat with our great-grandchild. Here in the restaurant, they're supposed to have the biggest rump steaks, That's why we're here, that's what we wanted to experience for ourselves. So I ordered a steak just for myself, which really challenged me as a rump steak tester. It's clear to me that there are a lot of vines in St. GOAR and therefore there will also be Riesling here on the Rhine. But today I consciously avoided wine and opted for a fresh draft beer. I liked the rump steak, then I discovered a logo, the beer comes from the Landeskrone, where my relatives still live. That brought back memories for me that flashed through my mind. We'll be back, that's for sure, to have rump steaks in St. Goar.

I made a reservation using the form on the homepage and received a confirmation by phone less than 15 minutes later. Reception in the restaurant was very nice. The food, what can I say, great, very good or fantastic, it was really tasty and we can only recommend the restaurant. Very likeable boss. Successful evening, we'll be back. Worth knowing: only cash payment possible.

As popular as it is, it is no longer an insider tip. It's just a shame that it's in the town center and therefore only the public parking spaces can be used.

Very satisfied. We felt very comfortable from the start. Very friendly welcome and attentive. Had Goarer pan and pork fillet with champions and croquettes. The food was seasoned very well and the fillet was tender and juicy. I actually don't like eating pork fillet in restaurants because it's often too dry. There were four large pieces of fillet on my wife's plate and on my pan for less than €16. We would like to come again. The pictures are from our next visit and it was again very tasty.

Unbedingt reservieren! Sehr uriges gut Bürgerliches Restaurant. Wir saßen im vorderen Teil es Restaurants und mussten miterleben wie alle Nase lang Leute ohne Reservierung ihr Glück versuchten und aufgrund des sehr gut besuchten abends weggeschickt werden mussten. Das hat es ein wenig ungemütlich gemacht. Essen und Service waren gut. Wenn man über das viel zu dunkle Toast beim Fitness Teller hinwegsieht. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist okey.

Waren auf dem Campingplatz an der Loreley und sind hier zur Krone dann essen gegangen. Essen war super lecker, Bedienung war auch super nett freundlich und sehr aufmerksam, hat unseren Hund gleich Wasser gebracht. Ich würde für alle Bereiche auch 10 ⭐ geben. Viele Grüße aus Unterfranken

Essen war gut. Ambiente war der typische Gaststättenbarock, Eiche rustikal. Personal war nett und einigermaßen schnell zur Stelle. Wenn es ums bezahlen geht, dann dauert es komischerweise ein wenig, eigentlich wie überall, wenn ich mal so darüber nachdenke.

We visited here in July 2023. It was the highlight of my trip. The steak/pork plus baked potato was amazing. We went twice while staying there. The city is beautiful and this restaurant really make it entire stay wonderful.

Bizarre experience on Sep 17. Our American party of 4 came into an almost empty restaurant and were told to sit in a back room that was nowhere near as cosy as the main bar area. When we asked the younger German waiter to sit in the cozy part he wasn't hospitable at all. We eventually could sit there but it was a struggle. The staff with migratory background was much friendlier. The beer was nice & cold but it's not a place that makes you feel welcome as a guest. For foreign English speaking guests, that are typically used to a higher level of service & friendliness, I'd go elsewhere. Seems to be a repetitive problem at this location according to some reviews in the German language.

Leckeres einfaches essen zum wirklich fairen Preis

Essen war passabel. Fleisch war trocken und die Spätzle waren leider nicht selbst gemacht wie auf der Karte angegeben. Bei dem Wasser war leider das Frischesiegel schon geöffnet, weshalb wir vermutet haben, dass die Flasche schonmal geöffnet oder neu befüllt worden war. Auf Anfrage haben wir ein neues Wasser erhalten.

Wir waren gestern mit Familiensippe dort nach einem schönen Tag am Rhein zum Essen. Wir haben im Vorfeld alles abgeklärt und das Essen für jeden bestellt. Die Rezession der Familie war eindeutig, Service Gut, Essen Gut. Abschluss des gemeinsamen Tages hat dort einen Ort gefunden. Wenn ich Mal wieder auf dem Campingplatz bin, schauen wir wieder herein.

Reservierung absolut empfehlenswert! Wir waren heute zum vierten Mal hier, und haben bis jetzt keinen Platz bekommen! Der Service immer freundlich. Schön das man sich um die Gäste im Restaurant kümmert und nicht nur Dollarzeichen in den Augen hat und Masse macht. Nächstes Mal reservieren wir bestimmt. 💓

Urige Gaststube, toll! Essen sehr gut, Service sehr freundlich und schnell! Schade das Wildragout ausgegangen war, aber das Schweinefilet mit Champignonrahmsoße war eine gute Alternative. Rundum zu empfehlen!
