Wenn wir in St. Goar sind gehen wir seit Jahren hier essen. Auch nachdem die langjährigen Pächter gewechselt hatten, sind die Speisen immer noch sehr gut und wir werden immer freundlich bedient. Wir können das Restaurant Alla Fontana auch weiterhin nur empfehlen. Aber empfehlen für Abends zu reservieren.

An excellent and delicious Italian restaurant in Sankt Goar. We have been coming here for several years when we go on a mini vacation. The food is always delicious and the service was very helpful, friendly and fast. You can feel free to eat a delicious pizza or pasta here. This pizza was richly filled and tasty. This Italian is a bit hidden in a side street. You can park directly along the Rhine and cross an alley to the Italian. We all had a very tasty meal. The restaurant does not have very many seats, if you want to eat here, make a reservation in advance!

A typical pizzeria with a small, clear menu. We were served quickly and friendly. My friend ordered a pizza and I ordered the penne al forno. The food came quickly and was very tasty. All in all a nice stay.

The remote location is deceptive. The pizzas there are fabulous.

Eat: The food was good, we would describe it as solid. There was a larger selection on the menu from starters to pizza and pasta to baked goods and even desserts. The menu was suitable for vegetarians. I would say vegan limited - if you leave out the cheese on pizza. We had pizza and pasta, which we thought was good but not comparable to a real Italian restaurant. In our opinion the food was of good "snack" quality but not of the quality we would expect from a traditional Italian restaurant. Service: The waiter was very nice. Several service staff could be seen in the room and behind the counter. One of the waiters seemed a bit unsure or awkward, perhaps he was new or was working as a temporary worker. Here, too, we didn't have the quality of a long-standing, traditional company, but it was solidly good! Ambiance: I think the ambience seemed a bit loveless and a bit uncomfortable inside. There was a terrace outside that looked cozy, but we couldn't use it due to the weather. Summary: According to our Google research, the range of restaurants in St. Goar was limited. Unfortunately, the ones in the exposed locations were rated very poorly, which is why we decided on this "Italian" that was rated well. This Italian restaurant is good, you can eat here with peace of mind, but you shouldn't expect star cuisine here.

Nice restaurant, you can easily reserve seats online, super nice owner. Food was good. Prices moderate. We had a lovely evening and felt comfortable.

The dream of a dough... I've eaten a lot of pizzas now, you could say pizza is my life. I find it all the more remarkable that I was only now able to get to know the pizza dough that was absolutely perfect for me. I couldn't even have imagined something so airy and soft and at the same time crispy and aromatic. The toppings are also very tasty, although I would like to give visitors to this restaurant and fans of real Italian pizza an important tip, which I unfortunately only found out afterwards because I asked the waiter about it. Say you want less cheese on your pizza! A little too much cheese, by the way, that was the only point of criticism I raised, after which I was pointed out that the locals here in St Goar prefer the pizza to be cheese-heavy, even though it would never be served like that in Italy. Which brings me to the next point, the service. The Alla Fontana team worked hand in hand, very quickly and with a lot of good humor - despite a very full house on a Wednesday lunchtime. Hats off and keep it up🙂🙃😃

Alla Fontana is a typical Italian restaurant. It is quietly located in a side street with a cozy outdoor area, covered with vines. The guest room itself makes a rather sober impression. The service is friendly, the ordering goes quickly and you don't have to wait long for your food, even though the restaurant was full at the time. The bruschetta is crispy, the salads are fresh and the pasta is good in size and taste. In my opinion, the sauces are not homemade. The prices are quite reasonable compared to other places in the area. For what you get for it, it's absolutely fine. The Middle Rhine Valley is unfortunately somewhat backward compared to other tourist areas, so you have to pay in cash here too. Card payment is not possible, so you should know that before visiting. However, I had to notice a major drawback when I visited the toilet (men). I neglected to cross the large yellow puddle in the middle of the room as the owner urgently needs to take action. My conclusion is that given the location and the food, I would visit the restaurant again if it weren't for the toilet.

Finding places like this is why I like to avoid the highway when travelling. The pizza is delicious, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the prices are very reasonable. I had a good time and can gladly recommend it.

Personally, I think the small, somewhat hidden pizzeria is nice. I had an extremely delicious pasta dish that was served to me after not too long of a wait. However, a new coat of paint would be nice 4 stars!! 👍🏻

Located in a small town on the Rhein River, St Goar DE. The town is lovely. Many cool older buildings with many places to get traditional German Food. Never thought I would find a great pie here. They make great pies with a nice Pilsner on Draft. Either get there early when they open, or make a reservation, because they get busy and lines start. They also do take out.

We came off the train late in the evening hungry and thirsty but all of the restaurants one by one told us, sorry - kitchen is closed. We spied this little place down an alley. They also said that they were closing but they offered to make us a pizza and sodas for take away. So kind!! The pizza was fabulous!!

I ordered a pizza with rocket and parmesan without ham. I got ham on it (I'm a vegetarian). I also put basil on it instead of arugula!! In addition, my friends' pizza was cut, but unfortunately mine wasn't (had to walk back). No card reader Pizza was too salty and too expensive.

We had a first-class meal here. It was no problem that we arrived 30 minutes before the afternoon break and were greeted very warmly. We were given a place on the pleasantly shady terrace. The pizza was perfect - crispy, well topped and juicy, the salad tasty and rich.

If you would like to eat Italian-Mediterranean food, Fontana is the place for you.

We ordered 3 pizzas to share amongst 4 people. The pizzas are good, however, the customer service is very bad. They don’t allow you to share pizza, even though the portions are large. Also, they charged us extra for asking them plates. Who charges you extra for asking extra plates. Very disappointed with the service.

My penne arrabiata had more garlic than pasta, they were 4/10, the food wait was 30 min , the pizza was good.

The food was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. People were friendly here but rarely seen. It's a shame, otherwise I would have liked to come back

A very good Italian restaurant. The dining room is rather small, but it's better to be small and nice than big and overwhelmed by staff. Due to the small space, a reservation for a table may be helpful during peak times. The food is excellent and the prices are very fair. The pizza Tonno and the cannelloni with spinach were excellent.

Came here with a couple of friends from Oberwesel. It was delightful! Food and service were very good and while we probably won't return - tourists - we definitely would recommend this place if you're staying here or passing through. Owner came over and chatted, felt personalized and like this was a small family Italian restaurant - the kind you really want to find and become a regular Definitely check this place out, it's not on the river but has that hole in the wall feel

Total recommendation from us. Pizzas saulegga, pizza dough made with competence and love for the product. Topping optimal. Service with Mediterranean speed, but after our own days on the Rheinsteig we were slowed down and everything was fine. Absolute recommendation.

An absolute recommendation! The food was so delicious that we went there twice in 3 days. The boss is super nice and honest with you. We were treated like regular guests on the second evening. Cosy little place with fab food in Sankt Goar!!! Taste was as close to authentic Italian as we could get... especially the pizza! The pasta and Tiramisu was delicious too... please save some space for dessert when here! We tried their vegetarian options for dinner and loved them so much that we visited them again for lunch the next day. Reservation highly recommended especially for dinner time. PS: the place takes only cash payments, so carry some along if you wish to dine here ;)

Sind zu Besuch aus dem hohen Norden... sehr Schade.... denn sonst wären wir öfter hier! Fängt an bei der gemütlichen Einrichtung. Man fühlt sich gleich wohl! Wenn man fragt gibt es auch eine komplette Flasche Wein... und dazu noch sehr guten... und sehr preiswerten! Das Essen ist RICHTIG gut!!! Pizzabrot... lecker... Nudelgerichte.... lecker... Tiramisu.... der Hammer! Die Pizza werden wir probieren, wenn wir es nochmal Zeitlich schaffen hier vorbeizukommen! Das Olivenöl ist auch selber gemacht! Paßt super zum Pizzabrot! Wir hatten einen schönen und leckeren Abend! Danke an den netten Besitzer!

Die nette italienische Familie hat das kleine traditionelle Lokal vor einiger Zeit aufgegeben, jetzt ist es nur noch durchschnittlich. Der Service am Mittag: bemüht, aber nicht gut, Brot gibt es nur auf Nachfrage, auch sonst darf man nicht zu viel erwarten. Und 20 Minuten vor dem Ende der Mittags-Öffnungszeit ist "chiuso" - dann gibt es eine Pizza nur noch zum Mitnehmen. So wie der frühere "Charme" dieses Restaurants wird auch der Gast vermutlich nicht mehr wiederkommen.

Ich habe diese Pizzeria zum ersten Mal besucht und ich muss sagen, ich bin vollkommen begeistert. Die Auswahl an Pizzen ist fantastisch, aber was mich besonders beeindruckt hat, war der Cheesecake - einfach perfekt. Dazu war der Service extrem schnell und das Personal sehr freundlich. Ich empfehle jedem, selbst vorbeizuschauen und die Qualität zu erleben.

It is a bit hard to have lunch at St Goar during the heavy raining day but so lucky that found this one. This restaurant just opened half of his area for business but still comfortable . Ordered 2 spaghettis and 2 cola. The food served very fast. Delicious, and smell is good. The cola is at Hamburg version - taste is similar but the packing is funny. And the owner (I guessed) is very nice and polite. And the prices are reasonable.
