Absolutely recommended! Large, tasty portions at a moderate price, the waiters are very quick, extremely nice and polite, and you are often greeted personally by the boss. It is very busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are advisable. There is also an outdoor area in warm weather. We've been going there for many years, hopefully the old post office will stay with us for a long time!

Actually, everything there was always very good and accommodating and everything was great. But for some time now we have been somewhat dissatisfied and very disappointed. We were there just before 4:45 p.m. The two of us had spontaneously decided to go there for dinner twice on the weekend. We didn't reserve a table beforehand because we decided to do so spontaneously. We were turned away both times so there were no more free tables. But the way they told us that and then just left it was not okay at all. The boss and boss were very unfriendly and short-tempered. There were still plenty of tables unoccupied at later times. Because the two of us have been very regular guests there for a long time (a few years). There were always 2 to 3 tables that were not reserved and free for spontaneous guests without a reservation. So they won't see us there again so quickly.

Nice, rustic pub with delicious, hearty cuisine. They also respond to special requests and conjure up great dishes every time. We always like to come back, not least because of the really friendly waiters!

Last week we had a spontaneous meal at the “Zur alten Post” restaurant. We received an extremely friendly welcome and, luckily for us, there was still a free space. I would particularly like to emphasize the extraordinary friendliness of the staff. We really liked the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant area and made it feel good. The menu is extensive and offers a great selection for every taste. I ordered the house plate for dinner. For this you should be really hungry and you will also get your money's worth in terms of taste. The price-performance ratio is top here. We can fully recommend the Restaurant Zur alten Post and would come back at any time.

I was there for the second time today and I'm absolutely thrilled.

All in all everything was very satisfactory. Nice ambience. The beer garden could not be used outside because of the rain, but from what you can see, it will probably be well frequented in the summer when the weather is nice.

I often come here for special events, always nice. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is pleasant, the waitresses are nice and helpful.

The waitresses are very friendly and accommodating🪷💐 The food is really very tasty and what is important to me personally, also rich☝🏼 I had the “house plate” with fried potatoes and it was really great 🏆🥇✨️ Sufficient portion sizes are no longer a given in many restaurants and pubs today. And that doesn't always have anything to do with the increased costs. We were your guests for the first time on a Tuesday evening, based on a recommendation. We were greeted warmly and this continued throughout the evening. Two ingredients were swapped on our plates. Absolute top address on Langeoog. We were with 5 adults and one child. We had reservations in the morning. The ambience invites you to linger. Very comfortably designed. The service was one of the best we had the pleasure of experiencing: super attentive, very friendly and accommodating. Empty drinks were immediately noticed and there was always time for a little chat and fun with our daughter at the table. The food was great. We had 6 different dishes that all tasted great and there was nothing to complain about. The wine accompaniment was also brilliant - an all-round successful evening. If you go to Langeoog again, you'll be happy to go back to the old post office. Thanks for the lovely evening!

We've been here several times. There are a lot of delicious dishes on the menu, so it can sometimes be difficult to choose. Service is also very good.

Have been coming here for many years. But on Saturday August 31, 24 at 7:00 p.m. I thought I was in the wrong place. Very rude reception from the boss. Had reserved a table with the note that we were bringing a dog. In this regard, we were very rudely directed to a corner table, with the flippant remark: "There...in the corner...table 38". We stayed anyway and didn't want to let our evening be ruined. The service at the table was very nice, the food was OK - nothing special, I've eaten much better elsewhere, in a Baljan restaurant. Conclusion: Were there last time. We don't need to worry about such a bad reception from the boss, I can take my money somewhere else. If the boss is no longer interested, he should retire. He's old enough. What a shame!!

The beer garden was very busy and it is advisable to reserve in advance. We also discovered small dishes on the menu, which was a good portion. Unfortunately, a fellow visitor didn't like the salad plate with bread😔 She found it careless and completely prepared with few ingredients/dressing. Because the tables are full, the waiting time can be long. The beer garden itself is very tasteful with lots of flowers, olive and fruit trees, cozy.

Great food. Dishes are tasty, but it is a lot. We first had soup and then main course. We also received a salad, which is normal in Germany. But we are glad that more people were reaching the limits of their stomachs. But you can just ask them to pack it and that's no problem. Worth repeating.

We were here after a funeral. It's the first time for me and I'd love to come back. There are plenty of them for normal prices. The staff is friendly. The food is excellent.

Unfortunately, when we wanted to eat there with the family, we weren't greeted politely and were totally unfriendly, which can also scare away our guests.

We wanted to come eat there and wanted to sit outside and then an older lady (employee) came. And we were completely confused as to whether we had reserved, it wouldn't be possible to just sit down there. I am very disappointed.

Zero stars from us, we reserved a table on January 25th, 2024 in the Restaurant Zur alten Post for two people with a dog for January 26th, 2024, 6:00 p.m. When we asked on the phone, we were also told that we were bringing our dog with us. When we got there, the innkeeper kicked us out with the following words: "big dog, brings hair and fleas with him." The website also says that dogs are allowed. Unbelievable... We just found out from other nice guests who were in the Restaurant Zum Rathaus, where we were warmly welcomed as always, that the innkeeper has been getting worse and worse for over a year and simply throws out people who are too loud for him. They don't go there anymore either. WE WILL NOT GO THERE ANYMORE, we would rather stay loyal to the Restaurant Zum Rathaus, they deserve more than just 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

Es war nicht schlecht das Essen, aber leider war der Djuvec nicht genug gewürzt bzw war die Pljeskavica sehr fest. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Weiß nicht ob ich noch einmal dort hin essen gehe.

Waren gestern dort, ein sehr leckeres Pfeffer Steak gegessen. Der Service immer freundlich und geduldig... Im großen und ganzen Preis leistung und das sehr leckere Essen einfach top.

Essen war echt sehr lecker. Leider war meine Partnerin als Vegetarierin nicht ganz auf ihre Kosten gekommen, hier könnte man evtl. noch ein zwei Gerichte mehr anbieten. Service war freundlich und nicht zu aufdringlich. In Summe ein nettes Lokal und für Fleischesser auf jeden Fall lohnenswert.

Wir haben für den 2 Weihnachtstag reserviert. Statt bei der Reservierung erfuhren wir erst vor Ort von der stark eingeschränkten Speisekarte. Ich bestellte aus der 'üppigen' Karte dann Chicken Nuggets mit Pommes und Gemüse. Trocken und Geschmacklos. Keiner der anderen Gäste war auf diese Einschränkungen hingewiesen worden. Merkte man an den Reaktionen. Nochmal würde ich nicht bleiben und etwas bestellen.

Mega essen, super Service und die Preise sind völlig in Ordnung. Danke für einen sehr schönen Abend und gutes Essen.

Grade im Sommer kann man sehr gemütlich draußen im Biergarten essen. Die Portionen sind riesig und die Qualität ist super!

Anpassung meiner ursprünglichen Bewertung (unten): Wir kommen mitlerweile oft und gerne! Die Qualität des Essens ist echt super geworden, Getränke immer kühl und sprudelig und die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich gewesen die letzten Male. Die Preise sind auch gut! Besondere Empfehlung, Hausteller und Pallatschinken! Frühere Bewertung: Gemischte Gefühle. Das Ambiente des Biergartens ist sehr schön, jedoch sind die Stühle definitiv nicht für molligere Personen ausgelegt. Die Dame, die uns bedient hatte, war durchweg freundlich. Der ältere Herr, der vermutlich der Chef ist, jedoch nicht so. Am Telefon hatte ich im Vorfeld nach einer Reservierung gefragt, er sagte, dass das nicht möglich sei. Wenn wir kommen, sollten wir warten, bis etwas frei wird, was anderes könne er auch nicht tun (wirkte nicht wirklich bemüht, eher als ob man unser Geld nicht nötig hätte). Im Restaurant an sich hatte er eine negative Grundstimmung (hat z.B., als er uns die Getränke gab, die Bierdeckel im Stapel auf den Tisch geworfen und wir haben sie dann verteilt. Nur eine Kleinigkeit, aber trotzdem seltsam...) Das Bier war angenehm kühl. Der Beilagensalat schmeckte mir persönlich nicht so gut (Geschmack schwer zu beschreiben, hatte eine Jod-Note so wie Jodsalz riecht). Leber war gut gebraten, Pommes ok, Erbsen und Möhren aus der Dose (was ich auch ok finde). Pluspunkt, Mayo und Ketchup werden nicht extra berechnet. Minuspunkt, es wurden einem die billigsten Discounter-Tuben (Aldi) mit defekten Deckeln gereicht. Die Cola war, laut allen Beteiligten am Tisch, ebenfalls eine Discounter-Billigcola. In einem Restaurant erwarte ich schon zumindest etwas bessere Qualität, als ich selbst beim Discounter um die Ecke kaufen kann..

Wieder im schönen Biergarten gesessen. Essen sehr lecker und gute Portionen. Dazu ein netter aufmerksamer Service

Tolles Essen, super Bedienung und altes aber nettes Ambiente. Ich kann mich nicht daran erinnern, schon einmal so einen leckeren Grillteller gegessen zu haben.

Tolles Restaurant, toller Biergarten zum essen oder auch fürn Bierchen top. Speisekarte ist sehr gut,reichlich Auswahl und Preislich noch ganz ok. Service ist wie zu erwarten gut und reagiert auf Änderungen und Sonderwünsche beim essen ganz entspannt. Komme gerne wieder.

War sehr gemütlich und lecker … Tip: die selbst hergestellte Paprika-Sauce, die hier noch ihren ursprünglichen Namen behalten hat.

Im Balkan Restaurant esse ich eigentlich immer den Grillteller, und in vielen Restaurants ist das Fleisch sowas von durch gebraten...der Djuvec Reis ist lauwarm und schmeckt nach zu viel Ketchup. In der Alten Post ist dies nicht der Fall, das Fleisch ist saftig. Der Reis ist heiß und schmeckt lecker. Der Service ist Klasse, die Preise sind mehr als fair.

Leckeres Essen, riesige Portionen, die man alleine nicht aufessen kann.

Der Biergarten ist schattig und gemütlich. Die Bedienung freundlich...der Salat war nicht richtig gewürzt, es fehlte eine Vinaigrette oder Dressing. Der Hausteller war von der Menge mehr als ausreichend und gut gewürzt. Die Balkanleber war durchgebrannt, der Reis lecker. Die Pommes knusprig. Die Mayo wurde in einer Plastikflasche gereicht...

Bei der heutigen Hitze war es im Biergarten schön schattig und angenehm zu sitzen. Wir waren das erste mal dort und sind nicht enttäuscht worden. MEGA große Portionen und sehr, sehr lecker für einen akzeptablen Preis. Die Reste wurde liebevoll verpackt. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Hundefreundlich mit Wassernäpfen zum selberzapfen ;-) Wir hatten einen Thunfischsalat und ein Jägerschnitzel.

Leckeres Essen in einem netten, bodenständigen Lokal. Freundlicher Service, so wie man es sich wünscht. Preis - Leistung stimmt auch. Für Wochenenden würde ich eine Reservierung empfehlen. (Foto Putengeschnetzeltes 13.50€)

Sind um 17 Uhr abgewiesen worden, da keine Plätze frei wären und im Restaurant nicht bedient wird nur im Biergarten. Tische im Biergarten waren nur zu 50% belegt. 🤯😟.

Das Essen war super lecker und der Teller voll. Der Nachtisch war auch biel und mega lecker 😋. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder
