A nice place right on the Rhine with friendly staff

The map is small but good. The location directly on the Rhine is indescribably beautiful. I celebrated my company anniversary there on April 1, 2025. Perfect service (thanks Peggy!) and very thoughtful in everything. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, the potatoes weren't very tasty; they were overcooked. The chicken salad was OK, but the meat wasn't my taste. Service was very friendly and accommodated every request. The cake was freshly baked.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. The coffee is some of the best you can get in the city. Unfortunately, when the weather is nice, it's almost impossible to get one of the few seats on the sandy beach. Only a few ugly concrete blocks with uncomfortable cushions are usually free. But that's also where customers park their shabby e-bikes. If I want to have my cake and eat it with bikes, I go to Little John Bikes.

Great food and great, friendly service. The inclusion works unparalleled. The only problem is that the room is a bit noisy and has a lot of noise. Therefore it is a bit difficult to understand each other and the waiters inside.

Wow, the goat peter completely convinced me. Beach, water and good food. This is how it can be endured when the sun is shining. Thank you very much for the very friendly staff, who were super friendly and welcoming despite the very heavy traffic. We will come back soon 🤩.

The breakfast was very tasty. Both the “cheese plate” and the “variety” are highly recommended.

The restaurant, which is located directly on the Rhine promenade in Hochfeld and where people with disabilities work and serve, is always well filled. Great atmosphere, always friendly staff, reasonable prices.

The Ziegenpeter is a café located directly on the Rhine that is known, among other things, for employing people with disabilities. I think that in itself is important and right. I've been there several times, like yesterday. It was packed and I felt incredibly sorry for the staff because there doesn't seem to be a structured plan drawn up internally to protect the staff from this volume so that the café isn't bursting at the seams. I would like the AG to work out a structure with the people who work there in which the staff is protected and the people who spend their money there are also satisfied. I would like to see more overview of the process there, which is designed to be barrier-free and clearly visible to everyone. If all tables are occupied, this should be made easy for staff and visitors to come. The overview is completely lost there, everything is a mess. It's really a matter of extreme luck whether you have a nice experience there or not and I think that's a shame. I would like to emphasize here that in the situations described, I do not attribute responsibility to the staff but rather to the client. Personally, I am deterred from going there again because of these facts, as I unfortunately did not have a pleasant experience there several times for the reasons mentioned above.

The staff was nice, but the cake, cookies and muffins were unfortunately quite dry. Too bad! In my opinion, furniture etc. in the interior are not that inviting either.

Discovered this great, inclusive gastronomy in sunny winter weather. The service was warm and attentive, we could only feel comfortable and enjoy the delicious food. Later I had to take a jar of the goat mayonnaise home with me. Now we “have to” go back soon because of the glass deposit. Hip hip hooray!

Wonderful little shop with very good food and lived inclusion. I love it there!

The two of us got a table straight away without a reservation. Our order was two delicious tarte flambées. The drinks were served cold. The service was courteous but not intrusive. The ambience is calm and cozy.

The place was totally cold, one of our group had already put on a jacket, the selection on the menu was puny and the quality was already at student level and the service was so crazy that our entire order went to the kitchen twice everything was thrown away. With the best will in the world, I don't understand the good reviews

I ordered a breakfast buffet for 20 people on a Saturday. Everything exceeded my expectations. The selection of food and drinks were perfect, the service was attentive and almost loving, the wood-burning oven was on, the view right on the Rhine and the ambience were simply great. And we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.

The Ziegenpeter in the Rheinpark is now a Duisburg institution. coffee and cake; Tarte flambée and salad plus other dishes invite you to visit. All of this is available with a view of the Rhine, or on the terrace when the weather is nice. The skate park and various play options in the surrounding area make a visit with children an experience. The drinks and opening times alone are attractive, and the menu tops it all off. The staff is friendly and competent. The restaurant is clean; very attractive and modern furnished. Always my pleasure. Keep it up! Top address for a trip with the whole family or alone!

We are often in Ziegenpeter Rheinpark. Mostly for breakfast. But occasionally in the afternoon too. Same last week. “My” obligatory currywurst wasn’t good this time. Lukewarm (as is the sauce). No browning at all. Plus two very small slices of bread (which, as always, were delicious). Nevertheless: I don't think €5.80 is appropriate under these circumstances. The tarte flambée with salmon used to come as a “proper” piece served on a wooden board. This time on oval porcelain in a much smaller version with little (almost no) sour cream and salmon. For - to put it bluntly - an overpriced €9.50. As much as we appreciate this unique location and the inclusive concept, we were very disappointed this time.

We celebrated our wedding here and were very happy with the location. The food, the decoration and especially the staff were great. The price-performance ratio is completely fine. Every guest was satisfied. We had a wonderful day ☀️

We ordered Bööscherhof ice cream with Amarena cherries and cookies. Both tasted good. We also drank passion fruit spritzer from Van Nahmen. This was also delicious. You can sit inside and outside.

We actually wanted to eat there, but the interior and the seating possible outside were reserved for a wedding party.

The Ziegenpeter in the Rheinpark Duisburg Hochfeld, beautiful view of the Rhine with the opportunity to have a snack, drink or cake. Certainly the right place for a breather during the bike tour. The Rhine Park, which houses the goat peter in its area, is certainly worth experiencing. Tiger&Turtle is nearby, also highly recommended.

Nice place to relax. The prices are OK. The outdoor areas seem a bit outdated. The sand outside needs to be cleaned or replaced. The view is great.

We started our wedding day with breakfast. The breakfast was good and rich. The staff was attentive and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for food and drinks. Extra requests were easily fulfilled. The view of the Rhine further enhanced the wonderful time we had there. Gladly again.

We were here for breakfast on August 3rd, 2024. It was unfortunate that it started to rain just as we had chosen a spot outside. Despite the hectic pace, the service remained friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, that's no use if the kitchen doesn't deliver. And in our case it didn't. The “to eat” was dry oat flakes with a bit of fruit. The service then brought oat milk, but if I have to make it myself, I can stay at home. The cheese breakfast was just a bit cheese... quite bland. I know this better in other, comparable institutions. Air upward!

Very lovingly designed, but here too you are fighting against the destruction of furniture by some stupid people.

The menu is no longer correct. There are neither burgers nor fries. The alternative currywurst with a slice of toast is really equivalent. Overall, I waited a very long time for food, even though I was the only one of the guests eating. No risk of repetition. Staff nice.

Attentive & friendly service. Good seating inside and outside and delicious food. Unfortunately there is hardly any shade outside. A nice place on the Rhine to stretch your feet and visit the nearby viewing platform. Unfortunately, the information cards in the area have all fallen victim to vandalism, but once you get to the water you can also find the Goat Peter.

Sitting outside with a view of the Rhine is nice. Relaxed atmosphere. You have to order food and drink at the stand and it will then be brought to your seat. Food was so-so, definitely needs improvement. For me, a large salad was more of a small salad and way too expensive and the baked potato wasn't that eye-catching either. So to chill out a bit and have a drink, it's nice there, but if I really wanted to eat out, I personally wouldn't go there anymore.

Only three stars...unfortunately it didn't pick us up.The service was attentive and really very friendly..The restaurant is ideal to reach by bike, we have to walk 1 km from the parking lot to the restaurant. The toilet facilities were the least appealing to us... very unclean.

Super friendly staff and absolutely delicious food! We come here regularly and are more than satisfied every time. In summer, when the weather is nice, you should sit outside and enjoy the view of the Rhine.

We went here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. You can choose between different breakfast options (brunch is on Sundays!) and all at a reasonable price. The staff is very nice. There is self-service outside. The integrative concept of the Duisburg workshop is very successful. We are happy to support this!!!

Very nice location right on the water. Super nice view of the Rhine. You can totally relax here. A nice viewing point right next to the restaurant. We ate tarte flambée and a baked potato with chicken and took cake to take home - everything was very tasty. Staff is very nice and extremely friendly/helpful. We'll definitely come back.

Great view/location The only café on the Rhine in Duisburg. Immediately with charm: beach, sand, chairs, little tables for coffee with a direct view of the water. Quickly or more elegantly, everything is included. Combined with a walk in the landscaped Rhine Park, this is next to the café at the Toper regatta track.

The food and cake is delicious! The location is nicely done, the seating outside could be better... Unfortunately you can see on the side that the broken wooden terrace and wooden seating are simply cordoned off... but that's probably more the fault of the city 😒 Parking spaces are a bit tight... The view is very beautiful! 🤩

Very nice location in the Rheinpark. We have spent many summer days there and eaten well. The cake always tastes very good. The view is just as great and the staff is always courteous and totally friendly. The prices are more than fair. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, there is a large sandy area with nice seating areas. Absolute recommendation 😊

Wir waren heute zum Osterfrühstück mit Familie im Ziegenpeter und fanden‘s sehr schön dort - direkt am Rhein gelegen. Alles war sehr professionell hergerichtet. Die Auswahl an verschiedenen Leckereien war sehr großzügig, und lecker war ebenfalls alles. Mir hatten es besonders das wunderbare, selbstgebackene Brot und die Antipasti angetan. Die verschiedenen Käsesorten waren ausgesucht und exorbitant schmackhaft - besonders der Ziegenkäse. Und der Service freundlich, gut gelaunt und präsent!! Danke für ein tolles Osterfrühstück 🐣🌷🌼👍💜!

Sonnig und sehr lecker. Kuchen und joghurt und kakao mit Sahne. Die hundert Zeichen sind eine Vorhänge von trip advisor. Nervt ein bisschen.

We were there for breakfast on Sunday. There was a rich buffet, everything was there, even homemade cakes, homemade jam and hot/cold drinks. Service was quick and nice, if something was missing it was refilled, even shortly before the end. The location directly on the Rhine with its impressive industrial culture is worth seeing in itself. The Goat Peter especially!

Schön für eine Pause beim Spaziergang/ Radeln durch den Rheinpark. Es gibt leckere herzhafte oder süße Kleinigkeiten wie Blechkuchen. Kein Luxusambiente, eher rustikale Strandbude. Eine der wenigen schönen Ecken mit Rheinblick in Duisburg.

Einmaliges Lokal, tolles Konzept der Duisburger Werkstatt. Perfekte Lage, direkt am Wasser, Strandfeeling, in einem tollen Park gelegen. Ein kleiner Spaziergang vom Parkplatz aus. Reste von der Industrie an diesem Standort wurden erhalten. Eine tolles Fleckchen mit wunderbaren und herzlichen Mitarbeiter*innen.

Ein ideales Restaurant für einen romantischen Abend. Service bei Kerzenlicht, aufmerksame Kellner und köstliche Gerichte. Ich empfehle es besonders für besondere Anlässe.

Sehr schöner Aufenthaltsort ,im Sommer draussen und im Winter drinnen. Sehr nette Menschen die eine Behinderung haben und ihre arbeiten so toll machen.Sehr freundlich und äußerst bemüht jedem Gast einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Wir waren zum Frühstück dort und man hat uns alles mit ganz viel Liebe serviert. Es gab von allem,ob herzhaft oder süß. Auch Mittagessen und Kuchen 🎂

Sehr nette Atmosphäre aber leider kann das Essen trotz der hohen Preise nicht mithalten. Lieblos angerichtet und geschmacklich leider nicht überzeugend. Sehr schade!

Kleines Restaurant am Rheinufer in Mitten vom Reinpark. Ein schönes Fleckchen Duisburg. Das Restaurant wir von Menschen mit und ohne Behinderungen geführt. Ein tolles Projekt! Der Kaffee und Kuchen waren sehr lecker. Der freundliche und herzliche Service einfach top. Werde den Ziegenpeter auf alle Fälle als Tip in die Welt hinaustragen und beim nächsten Mal in Duisburg wieder kommen.

Ein sehr schöner Ort, leckere selbstgemachte Kuchen gute Getränke, preise sind auch ok . Nur die sitz mucklichkeiten mußten besser werden vieleicht bunter mit sitzkissen und der Sand mußte feiner sein sonst super.

Immer wieder bin ich gerne hier und verweile auch! Tolle Aussicht! Schöne Anlaufstelle! Man kann schön auf den Rhein schauen!
