We still got a table despite many reservations. The service was very friendly. I ordered meat topped with seasoned meat; the seasoned meat and the fried potatoes were very tasty, but the pork was still raw in the middle, and I didn't want to eat it anymore, so I put it aside. When the table was cleared, the server simply said she would pass it on to the chef. Unfortunately, that was all.

A very nice hotel, right in the old town.

Unfortunately, I really didn't have a good experience here. The food didn't taste good/was very bland, and even the waffle for dessert was burnt.

Hello team at Zum Alten Schwan. I and 40 other guests dined with you on July 12, 2025, in memory of my mother, Erika. She would have loved it, I'm sure of it. THANK YOU. The staff was very dedicated, polite, and attentive. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambiance. Even the little extras for our younger guests were taken care of. Everyone felt at home. Hello everyone. I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to do so here. Some people wrote that the food came quickly, which I personally think is good, as I'm relatively impatient. In my opinion, restaurants, especially in areas with high customer traffic due to daily business, need to prepare certain parts of the food, which normally (I had something with spiced meat) takes a certain amount of time. So, my summary about the restaurant: We reserved a table, which was also reserved for us. We come from the nearby Sauerland region, just to mention it, and found Grevensteiner on the menu as a drink. That was a bit disappointing, but whatever. The waitress came and asked us what we wanted. My wife ordered her drink and her dish. When asked, I asked if the Grevensteiner came from the Erfurt region, and the answer was immediately yes. That's exactly why it only gets 2 stars. Grevensteiner definitely doesn't come from Erfurt, but from Grevenstein in the Sauerland region. It's not a problem not having local beer on tap, but then you can just say so. Generally, we both found our dishes okay (although one plate was chipped) and tasty, but neither of us likes to be lied to. Best regards, Lothar and Sonja

Super great food, absolute insider tip, great ambience, right on the Krämer Bridge, recommendation

The location and ambiance can be described as good, as can the friendliness of the staff, but the food was abysmal. Four of us were there. Three people ordered beef roulade, which they absolutely did not like. We asked what the roulades were filled with, and they said it was the classic stuffing: bacon, cucumber, and onion. First of all, they were small roulades, but that was fine, since we couldn't eat them anyway. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the bacon and didn't taste it either. The cucumber was maybe 5 weeks old, and we found onions among the unidentifiable contents (perhaps crumbled ground beef or something similar, but only maybe). The red cabbage was so overcooked that it was more like red cabbage porridge. The dumplings were okay and somewhat satisfied our hunger. The other person had duck with red cabbage and dumplings, red cabbage, of course, also more like porridge, while the duck was supposedly edible, but no longer. I (the hostess of the small group) naturally expressed my disappointment when paying. The waitress apologized and offered us a free drink, which I and two other people politely declined. The fourth person ordered an espresso. What a waste of money and a lovely evening. We certainly won't go there again.

Very friendly service, and the food was excellent. I had a Thuringian bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and it was delicious. The view of the Kämmerbrücker is also beautiful 👍🏼

The food at this restaurant is well below mediocre. The service and operation are terrible. The proximity to the Krämerbrücke is nice, but it doesn't enhance the rest in any way. This was definitely our first and last visit to the Old Swan.

Stayed here twice during a four day stay. Great local cuisine at a reasonable price, delicious wine with a view of the Gera just behind the Krämerbrücke in Erfurt. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

We actually ended up here more by chance, but it was a good decision. I had the steak au four and was completely satisfied – it was very tasty. The portion was also quite large. Highly recommended!

We spent Valentine's Day here and can recommend this place with a clear conscience. Great food, appropriate presentation, also a treat for the eyes. Price-performance okay, service very good.

The ambiance and menu design promise significantly more than the kitchen delivers. We ordered a schnitzel. The salad was just dumped on top from a bag, like you'd buy at the supermarket, without any dressing. The schnitzel wasn't particularly well seasoned. The fries were standard fare. Ketchup and mayo were poured together in a small pouring spout. If you only like ketchup or mayo, you'll inevitably get something else in your food. The food was very dry. Given the quality of the food, you'd probably get similar or even better quality at practically any snack bar. The pumpkin soup was extremely sour and had no real pumpkin flavor. We would strongly advise against it. The Aparol Spritz for €8.90 was served with the cheapest and thinnest plastic straw, and in the wrong glass, to boot. For the price of €8.90, you'd expect a bit more attention to detail in the presentation. Plastic straws are also outdated. The mango iced tea consists of ready-made mango juice from a bottle, with a few frozen mango pieces carelessly poured into the glass. Since these are completely frozen, they can't impart any flavor to the drink. Why mango juice is being sold as mango iced tea is unclear. It came with a colorfully striped cardboard drinking straw. That, too, doesn't meet our expectations at all. We were there with a group. The other dishes were also more than below average. We would therefore strongly advise against this restaurant.

We went for lunch today with 7 people, based on a recommendation, and had made a reservation. The staff was friendly and tried hard. The ambience is very nice. The dishes 2 x Steak au Four, 4x Seibling, 1x chicken breast were ok. Absolutely zero in terms of taste and quality. Price/performance is not given here. It's a shame, we can't recommend it.

Weihnachtsbrunch 2024 fand im Konferenzraum - tadelloses Arbeitsfeeling- statt. Dazu passte auch prima die Neonlampenbeleuchtung. Das Vorspeisenbuffet war o.k. Die angebotenen Hauptspeisen entsprachen dem Niveau einer Betriebskantine. Die Nachspeisen kann ich nicht beurteilen, ich habe darauf verzichtet. Der Weinachtsbrunch 2023 war wirklich gut, tolles Ambiente, gutes Essen. Was ist in diesem Haus passiert?

The worst Fritösen Schnitzel I have eaten. For the price asked, I expect a decent schnitzel and not one that would be bathed in fat in the fryer. All in all, the service staff did a better job than the chef.

Very good schnitzel and great service. The boiled beef was perfect, but unfortunately the horseradish sauce had hardly any steam and was very thin. Ambiance is of course a matter of taste 😀 However, I'm not a fan of carpeting in the guest room. Gladly again, then goose leg 🪿

Das historische Restaurant in bevorzugter Lage Erfurts hat eine bessere Küche verdient, Die Teller waren kalt, klare Rinderkraftsuppe lauwarm und das Essen .. Wir waren 10 Personen, davon waren nur 2 Gerichte schmackhaft, schade.

Wonderful ambience, great service

Service war so lala, bemüht, aber ideenlos, teilweise unfreundlich. Essen war zu 60 Prozent ungenießbar, von Fleisch oder zumindest von Rind hat der Koch leider do gar keine Ahnung. Schade ums Geld.

Es ist ein feines kleines Restaurant in direkter Nähe zur Rückseite der Krämerbrücke mit Hotelzugang. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, die Speisen frisch zubereitet worden. Fazit: ein gemütliches Thüringer Restaurant mit einheimischer Küche. Empfehlenswert!

I ordered a vegetarian menu (yellow chickpea curry). The food had absolutely 0 taste, as if there was no spice (this was confirmed by my partner who tried it). The friendly waitress took the food back and said it would be remade. On the second attempt it was well seasoned, but it was more of a soup than a dish. Unfortunately I can't recommend it...

We were there as Erfurt residents, so we know some of the restaurants in the city. The beer garden is highly recommended. In comparison, you sit here at a comfortable distance. A great outdoor atmosphere. The food is not reminiscent of a normal restaurant but of upscale hotel gastronomy. The steak and schnitzel are tender and excellent! I would invite my guests here!

The restaurant is in a good location and the service was nice. But the food is nothing! We ordered steak au four. The dish is actually served with pork steak. However, we received chicken breast. Even after complaining the chef insisted it was pork. As a chef you should be able to distinguish between pork and chicken. If you want to try this dish in Erfurt, you should do so somewhere else.

Die schöne Terrasse hat uns gelockt. Und das Versprechen eines Frühlingssalat mit Mango und Nüssen. Leider war es eine Salat Mischung aus der Plastikverpackung. Ziemlich enttäuschend. Aber immerhin mit Mango und Nüssen wie versprochen. Das Weißweinschorle war nicht spritzig.

Wir haben online einen Platz reserviert für draußen,unserem Wunsch wurde entsprochen, es war wunderbar. Der Tisch stand mit Blick zur Krämerbrücke. Die Speisekarte ist gut. Die Bedienung aufmerksam. Das Gericht mit den Pfifferlingen war geschmacklich gut. Für den Beilagensalat hätte ich mir ein separates Geschirr gewünscht. Die Roulade zart... Die Nachtischkreation war ausgezeichnet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Been there as part of a company event. Service was friendly but not very attentive. The food was disappointing to say the least. Small portions coupled with absolute tastelessness. The bad thing: in the a la carte area, the food looked much better, at least visually. Conclusion: left hungry and dissatisfied.

Rundum alles super gewesen bei unserem Besuch gestern.

We had reserved via “Open Table” and also received confirmation by email (4 people, 7:00 p.m. inside). Due to the rain that had arrived but was not forecast, we asked at 6:30 p.m. whether our table was already available. The only available service person, who was obviously completely overwhelmed, brushed us off with the explanation that everything was timed precisely and our table was only available when ordered. At this point the restaurant was at most 50% full. We were back on site at 7:00 p.m. sharp. We were then informed by another, much more competent service worker that due to the rain, the guests had been moved from the outside area to the inside area, so there were now fewer seats inside and that only the outside area was now available to us . An absolute no go!! The management of the house has completely failed here! After we insisted on our written reservation confirmation indoors, we were finally offered a table in the breakfast room as an alternative, which we then took advantage of. The food was delicious; The only other downside to the otherwise lovely evening was that the pork for schnitzel, pork steak, etc. had run out (how does that happen? The pork runs out at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening! A competent chef doesn't allow something like that!) At least the kitchen offered somewhat acceptable chicken alternatives. The service staff was very friendly, and so we still had - even if “only” in the breakfast room and without pork schnitzel and the like. - a lovely evening.

We had to wait for a while until we got a table we booked, but once seated all was good - the food, the service and the overall experience.

You can't say anything about the food, that's absolutely fine, the price-performance ratio is also ok. There are no parasols on the terrace. It wasn't possible for us to make a reservation during rush hour, even though there were still tables available. When it came to service, it depended on who served you. All in all ok. The main thing here is the location right on the bridge.

The restaurant offers home-style cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the food. On the one hand, the food came to the table very quickly, so it could not have been freshly prepared, but certainly prepared. Doesn't necessarily have to be a bad sign, but personally I prefer to wait a while to get a perfect meal. I had ordered the classic boiled beef with horseradish sauce (although the sauce was the worst I have ever eaten, it flaked as you can see in the photo, the meat was quite tough, probably cut incorrectly) my husband had decided on the classic schnitzel (This came to the table quite dry, the fries were okay, the salad was very tasty). The staff was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed at times. All in all, the price-performance ratio was okay.

The hotel is located directly on the Krämerbrücke. The ambience is modern and invites you to linger. The service staff is very friendly and open-minded. That food tasted good. Unfortunately we had to deduct 2 points for preparing the duck. See image. It's a shame, but the eye eats too.

We ate crusted roast and Th. Bratwurst. The roast was not warm and had no crust. When we asked how it tasted, we said so clearly. Answer: I can say yes in the kitchen. That's it. We paid. Why are you asked if you're not interested? We are disappointed.

Es ist ein sehr ansprechendes Restaurant mit einem warmen Ambiente. Auf den Tischen stehen kleine Lampen. Es ist edel gedeckt. Und dennoch ist die Atmosphäre freundlich und offen, keinesfalls steif. Vorn isst ein Pärchen zu einem festlichen Anlass, hinten versammeln sich fünf Männer zu einem Stammtischabend. Alles hat hier Platz und jeder findet Wertschätzung. Es ist eines der besten Restaurants, das wir bislang ausprobierten. Die beiden Servicemitarbeiter, ein Mann und eine Frau, waren sehr sehr nett, höflich und zurückhaltend.

Wunderbares Essen, tolle Weine, sehr freundliche Mitarbeitende. Wir fühlten uns willkommen und sehr gut aufgehoben. Vielen Dank an alle!

Nicely decorated restaurant, price/performance perfectly fine. Food was good. Overall only 4.5/5 stars because the seasoned meat on the steak au four wasn't seasoned meat for me. It was more like pulled pork. The steak was seasoned a little too lightly for my taste. Therefore half a point deducted. The fried potatoes and dessert were very good!

Die Portionen waren recht klein, geschmeckt hat es aber jedem unserer 10-Personen-Gruppe sehr gut.

Nos avons passer un excellent moment dans ce restaurant. On y sert de la cuisine traditionnelle allemande mais on y fait ça très bien. Les produits sont frais et très bien cuisinés. Les Klöße étaient préparés et le canard parfaitement cuit. La carte n'est pas grande mais on y trouve son compte Cependant l'ambiance de restaurant est peut être un peu froide et personne (même pas le chef) ne savait nous dire d'où venait le poisson que l'on nous servait. Le style musique n'est pas très pertinent non plus pour un restaurant.

Liegt an zuwenig Personal glaube ich. Sie haben versucht alles zu geben , aber untern Strich für das Geld muß mehr geboten werden.

Leckeres Essen in schönem, modernen Ambiente, Preise etwas höher.

Wir hatten ein 3 - Gänge - Menü im Rahmen eines Argement des Hotel an der Krämerbrücke. Zunächst mussten wir am Eingang einige Minuten warten, obwohl das Personal nicht beschädigt war. Dann wussten sie nicht bescheid wegen dem Menü und waren heillos überfordert. Es schien, als ob keiner weiß, was er machen soll. Wir wurden von 4 Mitarbeitern betreut. Das Essen konnte man essen. Eine wirkliche Wahl hatten wir nicht. Das Hotel ist super aber das Restaurant nicht zu empfehlen.

Wir haben hier den letzten Abend unseres Erfurtaufenthaltes verbracht und wollten vorallem eines: richtig gut essen! Und das haben wir! Sowohl das Zanderfilet als auch die Hühnerbrust mit Thymian waren ein absoluter Genuss und der Sauvignon Blanc dazu perfekt. Die beiden jungen Damen im Service waren freundlich, höflich und flott unterwegs :) Ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: Wenn wir schon bei der Tischreservierung darauf hingewiesen worden wären, dass die Küche um 21:00 Uhr schließt, wären wir früher gekommen und hätten uns mit der köstlichen Käseauswahl zum Nachtisch etwas mehr Zeit lassen können. Auch hätten wir gerne noch einen Espresso bestellt, aber die Maschine "war schon gespült". Das Ambiente ist modern-nüchtern gehalten. Nicht ganz unser Ding, aber auch nicht unangenehm. Insgesamt ein absolut gelungenes kulinarisches Erlebnis, vielen Dank!

Wir wollten hier ein leckeres Mittagessen bei schönem Ausblick genießen und wurden leider maßlos enttäuscht. Die 3 Damen, die im Dienst waren, waren mit den nichtmal 20 Gästen auf der Terrasse ( im Innenbereich keine Gäste) hoffnungslos überfordert. Zudem gab es auch noch Probleme mit dem neuen Bierfass, so das wir schon allein auf die Getränke ewig warten mussten. Das Essen war leider auch nichtmal ansatzweise zufrieden stellend. 4 Stangen Spargel quasi roh und 6 minikleine Kartoffelhälften sind auch für 10,90 € ein bisschen wenig. Meine Begleitung hatte das Rostbrätl, welches leider so zäh war, dass es wirklich nicht essbar war. Als Entschädigung gab es auch bei uns einen Espresso, was aber kein Ausgleich zu so einem missratenen Restaurantbesuch ist. Einzig der Blick auf die Krämerbrücke war schön. Wir würden aber niemandem empfehlen hier einzukehren.
