The menu on the website is incorrect; it costs 4 euros more in the restaurant. This should be revised.

The staff is very friendly and you receive a warm welcome. The food is very good, with Bavarian cakes, Swabian cuisine, and Greek dishes. The food tastes excellent. There's a good selection of beers and wines, so there's something for every wine and beer connoisseur, and you can enjoy a fantastic view of Esslingen in the adjoining beer garden. There's a slide for the kids and the opportunity to play on the lawn when the weather's nice. All I can say is: Great! If you like good food, this is the place for you.

We usually appreciate this restaurant very much: beautiful ambiance, great view, and delicious food. However, our last visit was a disappointing experience. Due to staff shortages, the menu was significantly reduced (unfortunately, this wasn't mentioned when making our reservation). Starters and drinks arrived late, the plates remained untouched on the table for almost an hour, and after waiting for over 80 minutes, we canceled the main course. There was no apology. Note: During events like the "Ess-Testival," the restaurant seems to be significantly understaffed—but we can still recommend it outside of these times.

The worst Greek restaurant in the Esslingen area. The only thing is the great view from the beer garden. But that doesn't make it worth it. Completely overwhelmed service staff - uninterested... unfriendly, zero interest. Drinks only after repeated requests and then slammed down. The only gentleman in the waiting room just moaned while serving about how hard it was. Ambience unclean, unkempt... you can tell from the weeds and dirt in the courtyard. Inside, dirty tables and cobwebs everywhere. You can actually see it. Waited over an hour for food even though it wasn't that busy. Portions quite small and meager. Mixed salad 3/4 tablespoon full of carrot salad and potato salad. See pictures. Coleslaw 2 hidden strips and pieces of tomato. Gyro mini portion and tasteless. Meat skewers - fatty meat with tendons. Looked machine-made. Tzatziki was a flavorless yogurt sauce. Minced steak very dry, but at least it had some flavor. Rice portion was a disgrace. Potato skewer – briefly in the hairdryer – greasy and mushy inside. Never had such a bad meal. They should take a leaf out of the Greek book. Especially since the price for this dish wasn't fair. 2 different dishes – but the same criticisms. Conclusion – never again. OF COURSE there are always people – like the person who wrote my review – whose culinary standards have plummeted and they'd rather be content with the beautiful view – there are cheaper options. That you have to eat a farm is a very blatant impertinence and disrespectful when you write a review openly and honestly based on YOUR experience. Here you can see again what has become of people who don't remain objective, but rather prefer to discriminate against others. Maybe you should try a community college program instead of going out to eat. When we go out to eat, for our good money, we want EVERYTHING to be just right – from the ambiance to the service to the food. Others can offer good quality and value for money. You should go to the mill in Köngen and this Greek restaurant for comparison. And YES, the first impression is always the best – including the outdoor area and weeds.

I discovered Zeus through the Estival in Esslingen. My husband and I visited the stand several times because we were so impressed! Today was my first time in the restaurant itself. The view is truly beautiful, and if you arrive early (5:30 p.m.), you're also lucky to get a parking space. I was a bit disappointed with the service. The joy, enthusiasm, and professionalism in their work were somewhat lacking. Even though they were courteous, I didn't sense that joy, but rather a "I have to get on with my work now" feeling. As for the food, it came quite quickly. At least we didn't have to wait too long. I really liked the salad dressing, but it's 90% leaf lettuce. I would have liked a bit more carrot, white cabbage, and potato salad, as they're really delicious and would liven things up a bit more :-). We both ordered turkey steak with potato slices and an extra portion of tzatziki. Their tzatziki is damn good for my taste; I love it (even at the Estival). Their turkey steak is unfortunately very bland for my taste; it lacked everything, and the meat portion was a bit meager. I also really liked the potato slices at the Estival; they tasted great. Perhaps there could have been one more skewer, as in the end, it was only one slightly larger potato. I thought that was a real shame, because I was SO impressed at the Estival; both the service there was absolutely fantastic, and the food and the portion size were much better. I don't know why it was so different at the Zeus Restaurant. It's a real shame, because I was in a very positive mood and full of anticipation! We'll see; if I come again, I might have to order something different.

After at least 30 years, I finally wanted to go back to Zeus. But we should have stayed longer. We were there at 6 p.m., and it wasn't really busy yet. The waitress came right away to take our order. Then the salad arrived relatively quickly...but no drinks. After pointing out that we didn't have any drinks yet, she wanted to take care of it. Then our daughter's meal arrived, but no drinks. So, I said it again. Then our food arrived, but of course, still no drinks! In the meantime, the terrace was busy, and the waiters seemed totally overwhelmed. Then, at the fourth time!!!! We pointed out to the waiter that we still didn't have any drinks, he went and brought us the drinks! By then, we were almost finished with our food! You could also clearly see how the waiters didn't know what to do with the dishes. In general, the quality of the food was, let's say, mediocre. The gyro was really hard, the rice was cold, and the gyro in Metaxa sauce was actually a joke; you couldn't taste any of the Metaxa. The portion was more suited to those with a small appetite. After asking if it was good, I simply said, "Well, not so good," and the waiter gave me a puzzled look, nothing more. The ambiance on the terrace could use a bit more attention. It's a real shame, they could really make something of it. But it doesn't seem necessary. The one star is actually only for the view.

The two of us ate there and were very satisfied! Whether it was the starter or the main course, everything was delicious. Even though the portions seem a bit small at first glance, you quickly realize that they're quite filling and your hunger has definitely been banished. The moussaka and the Zeus grilled meat were very impressive, so we'd happily return. Plus, the view is simply beautiful.

I can't agree with the previous speaker at all. Weeds shouldn't be the main criterion when choosing food. Yes, the furniture inside may not be exactly modern. But outside, everything is top-notch. It's not exactly Michelin-starred cuisine. We were there for the first time, came spontaneously, and they booked us a table because everything was booked. The view was great and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were perfectly adequate for us. If you have to eat half the farm to feel full, it might not be the right place. 😅 The prices don't seem any more expensive than anywhere else either. We didn't have to wait long for an order or for the food. We loved it and will be back.

We were a large group for a birthday party. The amazing appetizers alone were almost filling. If you'd like, containers are provided for taking leftover food to go. Unfortunately, the weather was too bad to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. Thank you for the excellent service!

Honestly, the kitchen looks disgusting when you walk past, the food wasn't that good, and then you pay a fortune. It's pretty crazy. You'd pay half the price downtown for the same, better-quality food, and they're probably paying double the rent. Aaaaaa

The restaurant is actually beautifully located, and you can immediately see the potential of the location. The problem lies elsewhere. The price/performance ratio is unfortunately not right at all. There's hardly anything on the plates, and despite the appetizer (the homemade bread with the tzatziki was very good, by the way), you won't feel full. Very unsatisfying. Unfortunately, we had to get the kebab afterward. Furthermore, the service was poor, starting with the greeting, after we were initially "ignored" by the staff. Our order was then forgotten, the appetizer came after the meager main course, and we had to ask several times for the accompanying side salad. All in all, the place didn't seem to have a well-organized feel, which wouldn't be a bad thing if you were getting your money's worth. Furthermore, we got the impression that the working atmosphere wasn't particularly good...

Hello dear Zeus team, Contrary to some negative reviews, I can only say the opposite. We were completely satisfied! The price-performance ratio is great, the food was fresh and very tasty and the waiters did their best on a sunny Saturday lunchtime. We'll definitely be back soon!

Zeus is our favorite Greek. Today we once again enjoyed the daily menu. Pancake filled with gyros plus mixed salad plus small sweet dessert. Super tasty and really inexpensive at 12 euros.

We were looking for a place in the shade and the waitress noticed. When we were seated the service came after 15 minutes. We can't sit here, a closed society will emerge later.

As soon as we sat down, we noticed the crumpled menu. The vegan starter plate saves on the Greek specialties. This mainly consisted of a loveless salad without much dressing. But the few fried vegetables tasted very good. The souvlaki plates were very tasty, but the minced meat in the bifteki was too soft and not well seasoned. But the view is very nice. Perhaps it would be better to use it as a beer garden than for a culinary trip to Greece.

The restaurant has its own parking lot and is located high in Esslingen. From the beer garden there is a wonderful, wide view over the valley to the television towers. As soon as we sat down, we got clouds of smoke from the neighboring table and wanted to leave straight away. The staff noticed this and immediately offered us another table. So we stayed and ordered food and drinks. The very young waitresses were sometimes a bit inexperienced, but that will definitely change. The drinks came quickly, the food came with a slight delay. Quantity and taste (Mousaka and Zeus plates) were good and the prices are completely ok.

We were satisfied, everything tasted good and the service was good! Update: Quality of service varies greatly depending on who is there at the time. And: Please check the menus and replace them if necessary - thank you!

It's so beautiful there, a lovely quiet location and there's a big meadow next to it, so it's really great for children who can let off steam there. The food is so beautifully prepared, I have never seen such beautiful food 🙈 and it was so delicious!!! We will come back degeneratively 🙌🔥

The staff was completely overwhelmed on Saturday. The boss in particular made you feel like you were a nuisance. Just asking for cutlery, which wasn't there, made you turn the corners of your mouth down and roll your eyes. The side salad we ordered was not dressed at all. Asked for a dressing or vinegar & oil but was completely ignored. The gyro was not well fried and was also tough. The tomato rice served with it was lukewarm on one side and cold on the other. I only ate half of everything. The only thing that was nice was the view from the terrace into the Neckar Valley. Food: Bad Service: Disastrous View: Beautiful

We waited 1 hour for our drinks, after 1.5 hours the salad came and after 2 hours our food. The service was subpar as nothing happened despite repeated requests. The staff was visibly overwhelmed. In addition to a large party in the restaurant, the beer garden was opened at the same time and the staff could not cope with the occupancy, so the service in the beer garden suffered greatly. We will not visit this restaurant again.

Very nice view over Esslingen. At night you also get a table lamp. The clicking of the terrace tiles as soon as someone walked really annoyed me. Salad dressing with too much vinegar. The potato slices are too thin and taste dry, like chips. Galaktoboureki was a failure, just fil without semolina and very small, the scoop of vanilla ice cream that came with it was also puny. Unfortunately no variation of the order is possible (especially changing the types of meat). Wouldn't eat there again. Plus point, there is a very nice cat to keep you company.

Unfortunately not a nice experience. We had to wait 70 minutes from ordering for the food, but between arriving and getting the menu, between ordering the menu and ordering drinks, and between ordering drinks and eating, about 10-15 minutes each passed. The cards were dirty and falling apart. When the food finally came we were quite disappointed, and it wasn't just because we had to get the cutlery ourselves. The potato slices in particular were bland and clearly frozen. The rice listed among the dishes on the menu didn't come at all, a special request (salad without onion) was not taken into account, and the first main course came half an hour before the other dishes. And the service? Noticeably uncoordinated, sometimes not speaking German, but above all not friendly. No hello, no please and thank you, no apology for the inconvenience. The general reason for the lack of service: it was just full. But you have to be able to deal with it, especially in the form of a friendly demeanor, then everything wouldn't have been so bad. After eating, our stomachs rumbled strangely. Of course we won't be coming back, that's understandable.

In addition, the portion sizes of the daily meal were highly variable. A table had the day's food put back after dinner because the staff was so confused. When we were told that they had already eaten, the waitress ran away again, and shortly afterwards another waitress came with the food. After the same comment, she snapped at the guests that they should have said that right away... So the service and politeness leave a lot to be desired.

After our arrival we were served promptly and mostly in a friendly manner. We both decided on lunch, specifically the grill plate. The food came to the table surprisingly quickly - even before the drinks. The meat was excellent: juicy, flavorful and wonderfully tender, there's nothing to complain about. The fries were also solid and well prepared. The tzatziki could have been a little more intense for my taste, but was still tasty. The only thing that was negative was the salad dressing - it seemed as if oil had just been mixed with water, which took away any flavor from the salad. At the end we were served a small dessert, which was also okay. The price-performance ratio is really convincing. Although the portions weren't huge, the fries made the dish quite filling. Overall, a restaurant that I would happily recommend.

The food came in stages, there were two of me there and I had to wait forever for my food while the other person had already had their food. You had to wait forever, when the food came to me after 1 hour it was the wrong dish, so I waited another hour. Salads were also forgotten. Some of the services didn't speak German. Drinks also took a long time to arrive. No organization, all chaos. At least they apologized. It wasn't fun, I'm not coming anymore.

Unfortunately, service that day was subpar. Ordered drinks correctly but got them wrong. Then a main course was brought to the table that we hadn't ordered after we had all already finished. When we paid, we didn't pay attention to the fact that the extra menu that we hadn't ordered was also included on the bill. In principle, no problem up to this point. But when we pointed this out, they simply wanted to give us 15 euros even though we had paid 20 euros too much. The waiter was older and couldn't read the price on the menu and then responded with "I don't understand you because I don't speak German." Which is really not okay. Unfortunately not the first time. And it only happens when the boss isn't there. The service and food in Esslingen in the city center are really great.

What poor service with average food! Very bad, completely unmotivated staff. The food came 15 minutes apart for 3 people (so we couldn't eat together), no cutlery on the table, empty plates weren't cleared away for an hour, and no one came to reorder drinks. We came here for lunch and absolutely loved it! Friendly staff, very good food. Just a family business. And a great beer garden with a view. We had different meals (see photos) and everything was delicious - oh - we also had a side salad that was included with the meal, I didn't take a photo of it.

We always liked coming here because the food was good and the service was nice. Now we were quite disappointed and we don't know whether the food was good. First we waited forever for the drinks. Guests who came after us were served before us. After almost 60 minutes of waiting for our food, we ran out of time and energy. Staff brought out food for newer guests and didn't even look our way. When I went in to pay for the drinks, I was grumpily told that I didn't have to come back. Fits, we can also financially support other restaurants where we are welcome as guests. Mistakes can happen, but such behavior is extremely unprofessional and I don't have to put up with it.

To be honest, I'm very surprised and in a good way! We were expecting a standard Greek restaurant. But I have to be honest, the food was A1. It couldn't have been better! Beautifully prepared, quite quick and really tastes great. We were more than satisfied with everything. We would like to come again.

Food is good and plentiful. Ambiance is just a clubhouse. Otherwise nice. Salad could have used more dressing, but you could add more seasoning at the table. But the Greek particles were extremely tasty.

I've been eating here since I was little, wonderful ambience and service. The food is second to none, always full and in a good mood. My recommendation: Gyros in Metaxasouce, there is no better dish anywhere and I have ordered this from many. Highly recommended to everyone
