Friendly service, the gyro plate (approx. €17-18) was large and very tasty! The gyro meat was well-seasoned, and the fries were nice and crispy. The prices are just about acceptable.

Jorgos and his wife are now here at Ergon. We know them from the Golden Bee and were regulars at the Schiff restaurant. We're so happy that their hospitality and delicious food are now available here. It's been our favorite restaurant for 15 years.

The best Greek food! Whether appetizers or main courses, EVERYTHING on the menu is highly recommended, plus the best gyros I've ever had! The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, as is the rest of the team. We've been regulars since our last visit and will be back very soon! Best regards, Laura and Lenny

Obviously started eating before I remembered to take a photo. But very large dining rooms and variety of options to choose from. Everything comes with fries 🍟. We didn't need to make a reservation but Esslingen was packed whilst there so the place was busier than usual and service was a bit delayed. But this isn't the usual. Would definitely recommend.

The food was very, very tasty, the best gyro for miles around. Super friendly service. The restaurant was almost full, but we (the family) still managed to get a seat. The food came very quickly. The portions were generous.

We were meeting friends at this location at their suggestion. The wrong meal was delivered so I had to watch everyone eat. I was told two more minutes and it was 15. My lamb was tough and the rest of the meal was more sweet than savoury. We didn’t want to complain in front of friends. This meal would be complimented at any other establishment. My husband felt obligated to tip, thinking we were comp’d. Although the waiter was nice, this is not a restaurant we’d recommend.

Great food – we shared lots of appetizers (octopus! eggplant! dips! boquerones!) and at the end we managed a slice of orange cake with coffee and raki. And the owner was so nice!

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't good. Small portions. The farmer's sausage was cut in half. The bifteki had nothing to do with ground beef. Frozen and mushy. The chicken breast was just a tiny shred on the plate. Won't go there again. The side salad, gyro, tzatziki, and fries were still good. Unfortunately, just being friendly isn't enough.

I'm also more familiar with Greek cuisine. A mixed platter (Gambrinus) for just under €20 with gyros, a souvlaki skewer, half a (!) sausage with fries, and a dollop of tzatziki isn't worth the price, in my opinion. The service is nice, but unfortunately, that alone isn't enough. We won't be back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant today while passing through. Our first impression: we were greeted by a very friendly and extremely well-groomed waiter (who turned out to be the owner of the establishment). The ambiance was very pleasant and tastefully decorated. A special point for the cleanliness! The restaurant was very clean, even the floor was beautifully finished. We had a mixed starter, salad, and fish platter. It was beautifully presented, and the taste was simply perfect. You could see in the restaurant that the chef takes great joy in cooking. Top quality! We would definitely come back. I should mention here that I trained in the restaurant industry and am therefore very critical. There is nothing to complain about in this restaurant. Everything was perfect. Thank you for the friendly welcome.

1. Appetizers: Excellent 2. Fish: Very mediocre (we had the fish platter. Dorado was too dry, anchovies undercooked). The side dish for the fish was very tasty. 3. Big problem: The appetizers and main course were served at the same time. We were overwhelmed, and everything got cold (we shared three appetizers and one main course between us and didn't expect it to be served all at once). 4. Otherwise, the staff are very personable and friendly. 5. The chocolate soufflé dessert was excellent. 6. We sat outside, but the inside is also very nice, with a traditional, rustic atmosphere.

The owner kicked us out because we wanted to drink and not eat. He said that this is a restaurant and we must eat or we must get up and leave. It deserves zero stars, not one. Incredibly disappointing! P.S. The review completely reflects reality - you did told us to leave (after ~15 min. of waiting) because we wanted to have only drinks. Some people come and enjoy your restaurant (obviously also eating) and leave a five star review. We came and got kicked out because we ordered only beers so we leave 1 star review. (sadly we cannot leave a lower review) So your average review grade completely reflects your behaviour towards clients.

It turns out that one table is too valiuble and 7 of us were not allowed to stay and have a drink. But we were not informed in advance, we sat for 20 minutes, made orders and in the end were told to go away. If I could leave no stars at all i would.

We were expelled from the restaurant since we ordered only beer and small appetisers. “This is a restaurant, not a cafeteria”

Sat on a Tuesday with 6 colleagues (no evident customer presence), ordered some drinks and were then immediately asked to leave, because we didn't order any food. To be honest this is the first time something like this happens to me. We even planned on drinking a lot, so the bill wasn't going to be insignificant. Left an extremely bad impression, which was a shame as the place seemed really nice with great atmosphere.

We travelled from Switzerland to Esslingen. Due to heavy traffic we arrived around 10PM. Many restaurants in the city center told their kitchen was already closed. Ergon welcomed us in offered delicious food. Since it was late they rushed all the food at once - that is the reason I have rated service lower. Otherwise the food, the stuff and the ambience were great. We can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great gyros in the middle of town. Unfortunately, only fries as a side dish, but everything was good.

It was great and not expensive.

Warm restaurant where the owners, even if they don't speak English, make themselves understood very well and were very kind to us and welcoming. The restaurant has fairly recent decoration and comfortable armchairs, reminiscent of a tavern (in a good way). In terms of the plate, we found it a little bland (whether it was the squid or the meat plate), so we didn't dare try the desserts.

The food was super tasty and completely reasonable in terms of price. The service was wonderful too. We'd love to come back! :)

An absolute favorite. No English menu, but very patient with my German and helpful in ordering. The food was hot and fresh. I had the beef with cheese inside and fries. I could have used ketchup, but I was ashamed to ask. Good report for the calamari, too. The desserts were delicious, but the chocolate soufflé was very sweet. The orange cake with cream was a star.

We had a lovely evening for the three of us last night (a Friday evening). The restaurant was well filled. The service was very good, friendly and quick. The waiting times for drinks and food were perfect! Everyone was happy with the food. We didn't have any gyros, so unfortunately we can't say anything about the quality or taste. The only small request for improvement (which others have already mentioned): the tzatziki on the plate was saved a bit, that should be a little more. Still a recommendation in ES!

We came from the Christmas market and had reserved at Ergon. There wasn't much going on. The food was okay, a bit carelessly prepared and the portions were sufficient.

Really everything is perfect. It was our first time here and definitely not the last time. There are many good Greek restaurants in the region, but from now on we like it best. The restaurant is very cozy and well-kept. The service was friendly and helpful. And the food was excellent. All the dishes we ordered were fresh, tasty and to the point. We were there on a Wednesday evening with 10 people and unfortunately we went home with mixed feelings. First of all, I would like to highlight the friendly and fun owner/service, we felt well served and comfortable all around. Classic Greek hospitality is definitely very important here. For starters, my companion and I had the tzatziki with pita and the olives and pepperoni. Both tasted really good and were perfect as a starter, even the larger one. Also other plates with e.g. the anchovies or the honey sesame feta looked very appetizing and were tasty. Unfortunately, the main course didn't convince me at all. I had the Gambrinus plate with skewered meat, gyros, farmer's sausage, fries and tzatziki. The meat skewer was very different for me, there were pieces that were very tender and juicy, but others were dry or sometimes very mixed. Half of the farmer's sausage was tasty, the fries were also okay and, according to my taste and that of the other people, there could have been more tzatziki on the plate. In the large group we simply decided to order another plate of tzatziki. So it was completely fine. Now let's move on to the last dish on this plate, the gyros. Unfortunately, I haven't eaten a gyro as bad as the one on this plate for a long time. Everything was very dry and bathed in oil again. I really have to say that if I hadn't been so hungry, I would have preferred to leave it alone. When the boss cleared our plates, when he asked if everything was okay, I told him that it was very dry for me and the person sitting next to me. We decided that we were both just unlucky and received the first or top layer, which was then cut down. For the other people who also had gyros, the dryness of the meat was limited and for one person, who got his plate last, it was actually really good. Accordingly, I don't want to frantically leave a bad review because I think this restaurant really has potential. I/we were simply unlucky in this case and I hope that in the future perhaps better attention will be paid to the first/top layer when cutting, whether it can really be sold to customers that way or not. All in all, putting the gyros issue aside, we still had a nice evening and ended up drinking an ouzo on the house with the boss.

Visited this restaurant for the first time today! Delicious food "like in Greece", great atmosphere and service! We will definitely return to this establishment and recommend it to everyone!

We sat outside on the terrace here in the evening. That was really very pleasant. The menu is not very large and you are well advised if you are a meat eater and like tzatziki. Otherwise you will have a hard time finding something on the map. The food was a large enough portion (there was a side salad, which is not in the photo) and the meat was very juicy. The fries were very tasty and tasted good even without ketchup or similar. The tzatziki could have tasted a little more intensely garlicky, but it was still good. Unfortunately, access to the restaurant is not barrier-free, but there is a fairly large dining room inside and there are also clean toilets. You can pay in cash and currently only from 25 euros with an EC card (credit card didn't work). All in all, still recommended.

One star is already too many. What's the point of good food if professionalism is lacking? Such a juice shop! Events (club meetings + wedding) had already been planned for a whole two emails, dates were confirmed and everything was discussed in detail and then canceled again after a short period of time! This is definitely NOT professional!

We have been to Ergon several times now. The food was always delicious and everything was freshly prepared. Whether it's grilled sea bream with rice and vegetables or the homemade gyros or many other dishes, everything is recommended. Super friendly service.

Sehr leckere griechische Gerichte!! Jorgos der Wirt und seine Frau sind sehr herzlich und immer auf gute Qualität bedacht, im Service wie auch bei den Essen. In warmen Sommerabenden ist es sehr angenehm auf der Terrasse!

Hübsches Lokal, direkt am Sportplatz vom VfB Oberesslingen. Speisen waren gut, die Preise angemessen. Einzig der Service war etwas langsam, wir haben 2x nach Salz und Pfeffer gefragt, beide Male sind wir vergessen worden. Musste ich dann irgendwann selbst holen. Auch die Vereinstoiletten unter dem Biergarten haben leider das kulinarische Erlebnis etwas geschmälert, bei ungünstiger Windrichtung kommt da schon mal die Erinnerung an eine Bahnhofstoilette hoch. Darum Abzug beim Ambiente. Alles in allem aber einen Besuch wert, Portionen sind voll in Ordnung, Geschmack passt, freundlich sind die Leute auch. Wer übrigens vegane oder vegetarische Hauptspeisen sucht, wird leider enttäuscht sein. Wie bei den meisten griechischen Lokalen üblich, sind fast alle Gerichte traditionell sehr Fleischlastig. Es wäre wundervoll, wenn da eine Ergänzung in der Speisekarte für nicht-Fleischesser vorgenommen werden würde, die griechische Küche bietet so viele Möglichkeiten. :)

Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen, da wir nur etwas getrunken haben. Sehr freundlicher Service. Riesige Terrasse. Parkplätze vorhanden. WC im Untergeschoss.

Wir waren heute bei Ergon Essen und haben mehr als glücklich und mehr als satt den laden wieder verlasse. Das Essen sehr lecker, der Service sehr schnell und der Chef mit Abstand der netteste den ich kennengelernt habe. Es gab vom Haus aus einen sehr leckeren Kuchen und sehr leckeres Zipuro. Immer wieder gerne. 👍😃😋

Die Gaststätte ERGON wurde - auf dem Gelände des VfB Oberesslingen/Zell - im Dez. 2022 unter der Führung der Fam. Vrachnos (bis 2020 Pächter im "Schiff") neu eröffnet. Sie hat also nichts zu tun mit der zuvor am selben Ort betriebenen (und damals eher schlecht beurteilten) Vereinskneipe! Jetzt wird hier "Griechische mediterrane Küche" präsentiert, und wie wir bestätigen können: in bester Restaurant-Qualität! Wie damals im "Schiff" gibt es wieder typisch griechische Speisen, u.a. eine vielfältige Auswahl von kalten und warmen Vorspeisen ("Meze"), außerdem Fisch und verschiedene traditionelle Gerichte. Besonderheit: es werden hervorragende Weine ausgeschenkt, und zwar auch offen, also glasweise. Das alles zu fairen Preisen und in einer sehr freundlichen und persönlichen Atmosphäre mit aufmerksamer Bedienung. Nach inzwischen schon mehreren Besuchen: volle Empfehlung!

Wir waren heute Mittag als Familie zum Essen da. Das war eine Idee vom Freitag, als ich den Junior zum Fußballtraining gebracht habe. Ich finde es ein tolles großes Vereinshaus, wenn der Verein dem Restaurant was gutes tun will, würde er vom Vereinsbereich zum Restaurant eine Tür einbauen würde, dann riecht es nicht so nach Klo. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und sehr reichlich. Die Vorspeise extra hätte ich nicht benötigt. Wie kommen bestimmt wieder.

Freundlicher Service und leckeres Essen - gerne kommen wir wieder. Einen gemischten Vorspeisenteller oder ein vegetarisches Hauptgericht auf der Karte würden wir uns noch wünschen.

Beautiful ambiance and amazing food.

Wir haben das Restaurant schon paar mal besucht und sind jedes Mal sehr zufrieden gewesen. Wir haben verschiedene Vorspeisen gekostet, alles hausgemachte Spezialitäten und als Hauptspeise nehmen wir meistens gegrillte Fleischgerichte. Der selbstgemachte Gyros ist unser Highlight gewesen. Das Bifteki und Hähnchenbrustfilet ausgezeichnet saftig!

Gastfreundlichkeit steht hier an erster Stelle und wird groß angesehen, super lecker Küche Was dieser Harris geschrieben hat, ist nicht richtig.

Wir waren letzte Woche mit meiner Familie essen und waren hin und weg.soooo lecker!!! Ab sofort ist es unser Lieblingsgrieche in Esslingen. Ausgezeichneter Service. Super leckeres Essen!! Tolle Atmosphäre im Restaurant

Absolut begeistert! Herzlicher Empfang und ausgezeichneter Service. Das Essen kam sehr schnell. Große Portionen. Sehr lecker. Normale Preise. Wir haben Hähnchenbrust bestellt, die PERFEKT gegrillt war! Ausgezeichnet auch die gefüllten Bifteki und der Gyros! Lecker und hausgemacht! Es ist höchst empfehlenswert!

Συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα το συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί. Οι ιδιοκτήτες και το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ ευγενικοί, εξυπηρετικοί και πρόθυμοι να απαντήσουν σε κάθε μας ερώτηση. Πολύ νόστιμο φαγητό!!! Μεγάλες μερίδες. Δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να μην χορτάσετε. Ευρύχωρο μαγαζί. Μην παραλείψετε να δοκιμάσετε τον γύρο και την μελιτζανοσαλάτα. Όλα χειροποίητα. Πολύ εύκολη η εύρεση πάρκινγκ, ακριβώς από έξω.
