We have rarely felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable in a restaurant. Very poor and slow service (we waited almost an hour for the main course) even though there were very few guests there. To pay you have to go to the checkout and then have to justify why you want to see the receipt. The food was okay, but nothing special. Won't come here anymore and won't bring any friends with us.

Friendly service team, great location with a harmonious lighting concept on the terrace and delicious dishes...

By pure chance, I discovered this Greek restaurant with my girlfriend. The only one that was open on a Saturday during the high summer holidays. Simply great, very good food, great menu, very attentive and friendly staff, great terrace with retractable cover, large interior. Highly recommended 👍⭐

Authentic Greek cuisine...if you want to try it out, just order a few mezzes and enjoy them together. Not a typical gyros Greek but really very good, authentic cuisine from the starter to the main course to dessert. No frozen products but fresh goods. That's why it can sometimes happen that something goes wrong. And don't forget to reserve a table. ;)

ARGO will probably be our first choice if we want to eat Greek. We were greeted very warmly, the service was consistently friendly and attentive. There is a very large selection especially of mezze, i.e. starters. Everyone should find what they are looking for here. All dishes ordered were served at the same time with a short waiting time. Everything was freshly prepared, homemade and tasted convincing. Finally, a dessert where even the ice cream is homemade. Perfect. For the freshness on offer and because everything is homemade, the prices are acceptable. We'll definitely be back. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Everything was super delicious. We've been there several times. If you're looking for a taste of Greece, you'll definitely find it at Argo. There's even a matching retsina.

If you like to be treated like dirt and like mediocre food in small portions at a great price, this is the place for you. We made reservations as a small group and were warmly welcomed. We sat at a table for 4 and a table for 1 that were pushed together to provide enough space. We ordered and suddenly an older gentleman (I assume the owner) came and told us he needed our table for another group with one more person. Half the terrace was empty and there were enough individual tables to complement the other group's table. But he insisted on taking ours. We didn't want this because otherwise one person wouldn't even have had a place to eat and we would have had to put our plates on the floor or the terrace wall. The table for 4 was cramped enough as it was and wouldn't have accommodated anyone else. The man then angrily tore the table away and became insulting. With him it was the case that if it was fully booked, some of them wouldn't have the right to a seat to eat... etc... I then insisted on a seat for everyone or we would leave the restaurant, whereupon one of the countless empty individual tables arrived was brought to our place. This was followed by further angry statements and implied threats. The waitress came to our table and dropped a full tray on one of my companions. No apology or anything followed. By the way, there was a group behind us that sat in the same configuration as us, with the difference that there were men at this table, so they probably didn't dare explain to them that they had no right to a table to eat. At other tables there were 2 people sitting at tables of 4 and as I said the terrace was half empty. Other reviews say similar things and that this restaurant is still running, probably thanks to its good location. The zoo next door doesn't seem to be hurt.

I ordered calamari (Kalamaria Gemista) as my main course. However, the portion size was too small. After checking Google Photos and reviews, I found that the same dish is usually served with a larger portion of calamari as stated in the menu. However, for the same price (€23) of the main course, I was served less than half the main portion. Avoid this place!

Raw minced meat and horrible service The worst restaurant visit of my life was yesterday at Argo, which will be removed from our restaurant list FOREVER. We had chosen the Argo for my stag do to celebrate the big day, it turned into an absolute nightmare. We were greeted as warmly as a boss on a Monday morning. Since one of the 6 of us was sick, a table was rudely taken away from us at the beginning, which immediately crossed the space and cozy atmosphere off the list. The restaurant was never full. Then white wine was spilled on one of our guests, of course she now has to take care of the cleaning herself. In my Bifteki the minced meat was still raw inside, perhaps a new specialty at Argo, we think it was more of an invitation for the health department. The only person to be praised is the female waiter with the great charisma who tried to save the evening. We are so disappointed with the abysmal service, which we don't know from real Greeks, which made a wonderful day end so badly. Argo, you'll never see us again.

We've been raving about Argo for a long time about how great and delicious it is there. We spontaneously decided - which apparently wasn't what we wanted. Some tables were set, but many were not. We waited at the entrance as the sign says... Do you have a reservation No Then they take this table - and hey, gone. After 20 minutes, drinks were taken. The map is a bit complicated or simply very unusual. You will find something, no question, but what is normal for Greeks - ordering everything in the middle is a bit strange for other guests. Which was very easy to observe. When the other guests around you were chatting. The food was great, unfortunately the service wasn't as hospitable as we know it from the Greeks. Especially towards children, here they were rather unwelcome, that's the feeling... Especially in the catering industry, drinks are the be-all and end-all when it comes to sales; apparently no emphasis was placed on them here; people simply walked past empty glasses. There was also no question as to whether there should be something for dessert, at the end an ouzo, mocha or something else, which is a shame and would simply underline the Greek hospitality. Definitely potential for improvement. Maybe we'll be in the area again (the journey would be almost 120 km) and give it a second chance, maybe we just got the wrong day. The restaurant and toilet were very clean, the decoration was very tasteful and not tacky.

The best Greek in Esslingen and also the most expensive when it comes to food. But there is the tastiest thing Greeks have to offer. Not the normal food but the one with exclusive taste.

The food is good, but the main courses are very simple and not cheap

Unfortunately we dared to come without a reservation. Meat comes 15 minutes before the rice. When I asked why that was the case, I was told that I should be lucky to have gotten a seat without a reservation. Unfortunately, I won't come here with or without a reservation. The individual parts of the meal were very good. But I can't give it more than 3 stars because of the waiting time and the confusion.

Riesenauswahl an ausgefallenen Meze (Tapas) und Weinen. Chef kennt sich sehr gut mit Weinen aus. Bester Grieche in Esslingen.... Suuuper....

Authentically Greek and very tasty. If you don't like Athens or Poseidon plates, but rather value traditional, delicious cuisine, this is the right place for you!

Food was very good, staff friendly and accommodating, if it wasn't too far we would definitely come back.

The Argo offers fantastic Greek cuisine, which stands out from other Greek restaurants primarily because of the variety of side dishes and also has a little more to offer on the menu than the run-of-the-mill dishes that you are familiar with. I've eaten here 4-5 times on the cozy terrace and have been very happy with the bifteki, souvlaki, calamari, octopus and the like. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it!

Authentic Greek cuisine that definitely stands out from other restaurants. A wide variety of special and very tasty starters and main courses. The desserts are also very tasty! The service was very nice and attentive. Everything was wonderful! We live a little further away, but will definitely come back!

I have been a regular guest at ARGO on the Neckar Island for over 20 years. This week I hosted a birthday party for around 50 people. As always, the team prepared everything calmly, discussed everything with me and even thought about the little things. For example, preparing the existing piano on the music stage with a microphone, colorful event lighting on the stage, helping guests park, This time I chose the “Greek” fixed menu. There was therefore NO buffet and no plated meals for each guest, but specialties from Greek cuisine were continually placed on the table in bowls for over an hour. Each guest could help themselves according to their taste and hunger. Perhaps the restaurateur should tell the guests in advance what sequence of dishes and what quantity they should expect, so that they are not full after half the plates. As always, the service was attentive and very friendly. Because of the beautiful terrace and location on the Neckar, the ARGO is a popular destination all summer long without the mass rush of excursion restaurants. Of course, my 5-star rating is written in comparison to similar, more middle-class restaurants and cannot be compared with 5 stars from a gourmet temple. We came to the restaurant spontaneously - by chance - today. We received a very friendly welcome and were served very nicely the entire time and were informed about dishes that we didn't know. The food was very tasty. We would be happy to drive about 45 minutes to have a delicious meal with you 🙂

Our family has been coming to this establishment for years. The flavors of the dishes are always great but I hesitate to ever come back to this restaurant after the service we received here. The staff forgot about an item off of our order and our main course arrived at different times, this was forgivable. But then our food was undercooked and when we had politely notified the staff of the issue they stated it was a matter of personal taste and started to argue with us about the food. It is not that hard to properly cook rice!!! They then handed us a menu with an attitude without even explaining anything, then when we asked why we were handed a menu, the waiting staff told us that it would take an additional 45 minutes to prepare the dish again so we should order something else? It doesn't take 45 minutes to cook rice. The restaurant wasn't even fully booked and there was no apology or anything for being served food that wasn't properly prepared. The worse part of it all was that it was a birthday celebration and the staff were so rude to us it felt like they didn't care about their customers returning. When we went to pay we had to ask them to verify that the item was taken off the bill. A very unfortunate evening. There are other, more friendlier, restaurants that serve authentic Greek food.

Yesterday I experienced the worst service of my life from a lady who describes herself as the owner's daughter. First there was a mistake with my partner's order, then the spinach in my grandmother's dish wasn't cooked through. When my partner's food finally arrived, her rice wasn't cooked through either. When you bit into it, it literally crunched and you literally had rice flour in your mouth. All of this might have been bearable if, after more than 30 years of loyalty, you hadn't been treated like dirt. When I complained about my partner's rice, I was told that it couldn't be that the rice wasn't cooked. Then I said: "Then try it yourself." Her answer was: "No, I don't do that. But it could be that the rice would have needed another 10-15 minutes. I like it that way, the flavors differ." To such an answer I can only reply that I don't know any guest or chef who would accept hard rice. Why do I as a customer have to continue to discuss this? We weren't recommended anything else, we were simply presented with the menu in a rude manner. We didn't know why, so we asked. The waitress then said snidely: "Yes, she should choose something else." "Why?" we asked. "Because the meal would take 45 minutes." This lady should never work in a restaurant if she can't show respect or politeness. She could have made a recommendation from the start without us having to ask why the same dish was not an option. Unfortunately, the lady didn't apologize and at the end she said again that some people's tastes probably differ when it comes to uncooked rice. My entire family, grandma, grandpa, mother, friends, etc., have all been coming here to eat here for over 30 years. Now never again. I have never experienced such poor service, and unfortunately the owner probably wasn't told anything and therefore didn't respond appropriately to his supposed daughter's service. It's a shame because we had a lot of childhood memories here. You should know who to contact if the waitress has the decency to apologize. We were always friendly and familiar with you and always brought you customers.

As always...great experience. Were there with friends. The store was 90% full after 1 hour. Food was great as always. Cry too. Service top. You can just go there without any worries.

So first to the positive: The ambience of the restaurant is really very appealing and the location is of course very good as it is beautiful on the island and you should also find a parking space there. The quality of the food was good in terms of ingredients, but it didn't blow me away, but I only had squid with rice. The waitresses were generally nice and the prices were also okay. The live music and the feeling in general were really very authentically Greek. On the negative side: It says outside that you should wait there and be picked up. After we stood for about 5-10 minutes and saw two waitresses inside through the winter garden window, we still weren't picked up so we ventured in. Only when we spoke to someone directly were we placed. Unfortunately, the chairs are relatively uncomfortable - hard and with a steep back. Unfortunately, you won't be able to linger longer than just eating. The order is taken quickly, but by a rather unmotivated man. Unfortunately, we were also able to experience what other reviews have described: the food comes as it comes and that can vary greatly. So the entire table was already ready and the plates were gone by the time my food arrived. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything more than a curt apology :/ Of course, that's what you expect when you go out to eat - you want something together. eat. That really doesn't work at all. Maybe it works better if you share the many appetizers in a random tapas style, but surely you can't run the restaurant like that? The entire table can then watch me eat? :/ The restaurant confidently writes the motto at the front of the menu, but the food wasn't that great and the portions were very small for a Greek and also for the price. I also think that the dishes are missing that certain something or simply the side dishes. Squid with rice is delicious in itself, because squid is delicious, but you could definitely add something to it or a sauce for the rice - I certainly wasn't full :/ The presentation wasn't that appealing either - there was just butter ice cream a few pieces of squid on it in the middle. So that didn't make me want more. I think it's much better if you get two starters for about the same price, but then why aren't the dishes designed like that? I also missed the warm Greek hospitality overall. The conditions didn't have the time or inclination to recommend etc. It doesn't take long, just two words or an ouzo at the end something like that. And - this may sound very nagging and I actually don't mind - but when we were clearing away the waitress, for example, asked if we could all pass her the plates, even though it was easy to reach the table from all sides. It's actually different, but it's not the end of the world. The live music was very authentic and good, but it makes talking difficult. You can like that or not, but since we don't have such a loud organ it was a bit annoying, unfortunately. I hope the criticisms change, then you would definitely feel comfortable there and I see potential, but I have already invested my money in much better restaurants here. In particular, you could shorten the menu and make the individual dishes a little more extensive, then the timing might work better in the future. The Greek restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. However, the waiting time was a little longer than expected. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and the service was very accommodating. Suggestion for improvement: Time management could be optimized to improve the overall experience

The furnishings are outdated and the atmosphere is rather cold. But the food is really good, even if I didn't like everything, that's just a matter of taste. What bothered me, however, was the inattentive and not really friendly service. We were there in a larger group and it took forever until the empty plates were cleared away, so the table became fuller and fuller. Staff also seemed rather annoyed with us. Somehow I expected more in terms of wine recommendations. Overall, unfortunately, rather disappointing.

Supertoll! Immer wenn wir uns oder andere beeindrucken wollen, gehen wir hier essen. Das Essen ist fantastisch, der Service auch.

ich war etwas enttäuscht von meinem Essen: der kleine griechische Bauernsalat verdient seinen Namen nicht, leider. Fast nur Tomaten drin, kaum Gurke , keine Paprika und enttäuschend wenig Schafskäse! Da wurde so gespart, es war nur als kleines topping drüber gebröselt. Die Moussaka war von der Portion her in Ordnung war aber geschmacklich sehr fad. Alle sehr simpel bzw gar nicht besonders angerichtet. Da ist viel Luft nach oben.

Mega lecker !!! Nur zu empfehlen

Immer wieder ein Genuss! Wir waren am Samstag da und es waren viele griechische Familien dort. Das spricht dafür, dass man hier nicht die klassische "Touristenküche" bekommt, sondern sehr auf Originalität Wert gelegt wird. Wer sich in der überaus reichhaltigen Speisekarte nicht zurechtfindet, sollte einfach mehrere Vorspeisen nehmen. Alles schmeckt prima und man bekommt einen guten Eindruck davon, dass die Griechen weit mehr zu bieten haben als Souvlaki und Gyros. Erfreulich auch, dass die Preise durchaus moderat sind. Wir gehen immer wieder gerne hin.

Sehr leckeres, fein abgestimmtes Essen, ohne zu überwürzt oder zu fad zu sein. Alles war wirklich sehr sehr lecker. Großes Lob an die Küche. Service war ok.

Das Argo ist mein Lieblings-Grieche. Unglaublich lecker. Es ist kein typisch "deutscher" Grieche, sondern mit authentischen Original-Gerichten. Eine Tischreservierung ist sinnvoll. Wenn es voll ist, kann es sein, dass der Service ein bischen in Stress kommt. Bleibt aber trotzdem zuverlässig und freundlich. Ich hoffe, hier noch oft essen zu können.

Eine perfekte Location um traditionell griechisch Essen zu gehen. Mit einer großen Auswahl an Mezedes, gibt es für jeden Geschmack etwas. Bestens zu empfehlen

Unterirdisch schlecht... winzige Portionen, extrem lange Wartezeiten, man bekommt die Karte und dann wird niemand mehr gesehen... unfreundlicher Herr, der die Rechnung nicht aufteilen wollte. Wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Wir waren heute Abend dort… Die Wartezeiten sind einfach nicht akzeptabel. Wir hätten gerne nochmal Getränke bestellt. Nachdem wir nach 2 Stunden den Hauptgang erhalten hatten, wollte jemand am Tisch noch Nachtisch. Die Karte haben wir zwar erhalten, jedoch kam danach 40 Minuten niemand mehr. Also verlangten wir nach der Rechnung. Wir wollten dann (7 Personen) nicht alle zusammen bezahlen, was dem Herrn auch nicht gepasst hat. Er wollte, dass einer bezahlt und wir dann selber teilen. Der absolute Hammer war jedoch, dass die paar Scheiben Brot mit berechnet wurden, die man zu den Vorspeisen erhalten hat. Die Portionen sind ein Witz, sodass alle am Tisch eigentlich hungrig nach Hause gegangen sind. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Meze waren ok. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Hatten 5 bestellt um verschiedene zu probieren. Hätten intensiver im Geschmack sein können und waren leider nach kürzester Zeit bereits schon kalt. Eine der Brotscheiben war auf der einen Seite bereits sehr trocken, diese hätte man nicht dazu reichen sollen.

Vermutlich der beste Grieche im Umkreis Stuttgart, vorallem die schöne Terrasse ist im Sommer echt toll!

Alles sehr lecker, auch für Feiern zu empfehlen. Für die Kleinen gibt es einen Spielplatz, Außenterrasse ist groß. Der Service ist sehr freundlich.

Ich bin total überrascht ersten als Preisleistung,gutes Essen. Das Olivenöl besser gibt es nicht, Pommes mit frischen Kartoffeln, Fisch ganz sauber und gut gegrillt. Kinderfreundlich Und das Team sehr kompetent, höflich. Besser braucht man nicht. LG von unserem Familie.

Sehr lecker und authentisch. Wer Gyros sucht ist hier falsch und hat die griechische Küche noch nicht wirklich kennen gelernt. Hier stellt man sich verschiedene Gerichte / Meze zusammen oder eben mit Hauptgericht.

Schönes Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen, Besitzer (Brüder) freundlich, aufmerksam, gleiches gilt für die Mitarbeiter,einfach rundum schön! Absolut empfehlenswert, unbedingt reservieren, weil es immer sehr gut ausgebucht ist!

Super leckeres und qualitatives Essen und freundliches Personal! Sehr vieles word selber gemacht und es wird auf die Qualität geachtet. Wir werden aufjedenfall wieder kommen!!

In großer Runde: Menu mit diversen Meze-Gerichten und verschiedenen Desserts. Alles in Allem: der Hammer! Sehr lecker, auch das dazu gereichte Brot. Und wirklich reichlich! Jederzeit wieder!

Nette kleine Speisen für sehr hohe Preise in anständiger Qualität, leider jedoch schlägt jede Einzelheit, Salat, Ouzo voll! zu Buche. Das obendrein bei sehr winzigen Portionen. Für ein grichisches Restaurant völlig ungewohnt. Service nicht zuvorkommend. Da muss man jetzt nich öfter hin.

Furchtbar. Wollten zu Fünft essen, zwei von uns hatten Meze bestellt, drei normal nach Karte. Die Meze kamen, die anderen nicht. Dann nach 40 Min. reklamiert. Trotzdem kam nix. Nach über einer Stunde nochmal Reklamiert, blöde Ausrede: die warten bis Meze aufgegessen. Schwachsinn. Nur 3 von 5 Kunden bestellen Normalkarte, 2 Meze, Da ist klar dass Meze als Hauptgericht gilt, ansonsten fragt eine Bedienung nach. Dann nach 1. Reklamation immer noch nicht reagiert. Selbst nach der 2. Reklamation haben wir gefragt, als wir dann zahlen wollten, ob die fehlenden Gerichte schon in Arbeit sind, oh Wunder: nein. Furchtbares Restaurant. Nie wieder.

Schöner Biergarten und nette Mitarbeiter.

Wir waren schon oft in diesem Restaurant und es ist wirklich sehr lecker. Leider haben wir uns an einem Sonntag Abend erdreistet ohne Reservierung nach einem Platz zu fragen, woraufhin wir auf sehr unfreundliche und arrogante Art darauf hingewiesen wurden, dass natürlich kein Platz frei sei. Schade, wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Liebes Argo-Team ,wir sind seit Jahren immer wieder bei Ihnen zu Gast gewesen,weil wir mit der Qualität der Speisen und dem Service sehr zufrieden waren .Wie wir bei unserem letzten Besuch allerdings nach reichlichem Verzehr plötzlich um Begleich der Rechnung gebeten und umgehend vom Tisch wegkomplimentiert wurden ,weil dieser neu besetzt werden sollte ,glich für uns einem Rauschmiss .Im Vorfeld wurde nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass neuerdings die Reservierung eines Tisches zeitlich begrenzt ist .Schade ,aber dies war unser letzter Besuch .

Schlechten Platz von Viechern befallen erhalten. Personal lustlos und nicht sehr freundlich. Das Essen war auch nicht besonders. Preis Leistung nicht zu empfehlen! Leider keine gute Entscheidung für heute

Einer der besten Griechen, die ich in Deutschland kenne. Nicht nur das Essen sondern auch die Atmosphäre im Lokal und die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber fühlt sich an wie in Griechenland. Jederzeit gerne wieder. Dass ist manchmal etwas länger dauert, empfinde ich nicht als störend, da die Zeit im Restaurant immer ein Erlebnis wert ist. Dieses Restaurant ist eine Reise wert! Eine der wenigen authentisch griechischen Küchen in Deutschland!

Nicht so gut. Das Essen ist einfallslos und wirklich sehr einfach, der Service eher unaufmerksam und wir wurden schließlich herausgebeten, da der Tisch für die nächsten Gäste hergerichtet werden musste. Alles in Allem: Nicht zu empfehlen.

Einfach eine Klasse für sich... griechisch nett Level... immer wieder ein Genuss... das Mastix Eis ist der Hammer! Hut ab für eure Leistung, die ihr jeden Abend vollbringt!

Griechische Küche Mal nicht nur mit Fleisch satt? Und wie!!! Das soll kein schimpfen auf die gefühlt typischen Griechischen Restaurants sein, aber das Argo ist leider eine der viel zu seltenen Ausnahmen. Vorspeisen? Zwei Seiten nur kalte und dann noch Mal zwei Seiten lang warme Genüsse aus der griechischen Küche!!! Wenn ich als "Fleischfan" mit überlege beim nächsten Besuch die Hauptspeise auszulassen um mich auf die Vorspeisen zu konzentrieren weil das schon was heißen... Definitiv nicht fertig gekauft sondern mit viel Liebe selber gemacht, da ist das Essen endlich Mal wieder ein Genuss und nicht nur Mittel zum Zweck.... Ich freue mich schon soooooo auf den nächsten Besuch

Leckere Essen und ein stimmiges Ambiente, Service gut und sehr freundlich

Ich kenne das Argo schon seit Jahren und bin immer noch der Meinung, daß es der beste Grieche weit und breit ist. Ihre Spezialität sind Mezedes, von denen man ( ganz wie in Griechenland üblich) viele verschiedene bestellen kann und von denen sich jeder bedienen kann. Großartige griechische Küche, die durch die Qualität ihrer Produkte überzeugt. Wir fahren extra aus Tübingen hin, um dort zu essen; ich denke, das sagt alles.😀🤩

Erstklassig! Ich könnte dort nur Vorspeisen essen;-))
