Restaurant Yang Guang in Wetzlar

The ambiance is dated. We were the only guests at lunch. But the food was great.

The food (lunch buffet) was unfortunately rather disappointing. Many dishes were only lukewarm and the plates cold. The panna cotta tasted like white, extremely sweet jelly, the squid rings were very hard, and the fried noodles had a slightly burnt taste. The duck was also dry. Overall, the taste was okay, but not truly outstanding. The waitress was almost constantly on her cell phone.

The food was delicious, although the selection wasn't extensive, but the food was very tasty. The service was very polite and attentive.

The food was good but nothing outstanding. The ambiance is breathtaking, one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to, and the service is top-notch. They were very friendly and even gave a friend who was celebrating her birthday a cocktail with a sparkler and a birthday song, even though we only mentioned it briefly at the beginning. I'm absolutely thrilled! We'd love to come back. 👍👍

We used to be regulars. Before Corona, everything was fine. After that, it was just old and reheated. Kept warm for ages and served. They don't have a trash can there. We don't go there anymore. We tried it again a few times, but I'd rather eat a slice of bread. 😡😡😡 You can't eat there anymore. The duck was still raw. The vegetables were rock hard. It used to be very good.

We are very disappointed with the food and the service! The ambiance looks good, but unfortunately the food wasn't what we expected. The portions were good, but there was no sign of any seasoning. It's a shame. For starters, we had spring rolls that were warm on the outside but felt frozen on the inside. The sushi was warm and tasteless. I ordered lychee juice, but it arrived very quickly, so it felt like it had been diluted with water, so it just didn't change the flavor. It's a shame. My husband wanted to order baked bananas at the end, but he was told the kitchen was already closed, and that was just two minutes after closing time. It really wasn't the best! We definitely don't recommend it.

Food lay for a long time and was partly dried out. Instead of the stated €17.90, €19.90 was charged. This is an outrage and in no way commensurate with the quality of the food on offer.

Not expected such a good Chinese restaurant in this little town!

For years my family including Grandma and her grandchildren have eaten there. On the last visit, my son chose food from the buffet, and some duck parts were very hard, which is why he didn't want to eat them. When clearing away the waitress very reproachfully said that since the plate had not been eaten, an additional payment would be due. My son was ashamed and said it was his mistake. We were able to calm him down, but we didn't want to stay there much longer. Ultimately, the portion wasn't charged extra, but more than €120 was spent on an unpleasant evening. Instead of an accusation with reference to extra payment, it would have been appropriate to ask whether something was wrong with the food. We have been avoiding the Yang Guang restaurant since then.

We like to eat at Yang Guang because of the variety of dishes and the buffet that is offered. Friendly and courteous treatment of guests, cozy atmosphere, we like it

Essen war nicht gut..... kaltes Buffet. Im Restaurant waren bestimmt nur 11 Grad. Konnte man in den Winterjacken sitzen. Bedienung freundlich.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was a big disappointment, especially in terms of the quality of the food. The to-go box with pasta and chicken I ordered was primarily very greasy without being convincing in terms of taste. Neither the noodles had any significant seasoning nor was the quality of the chicken meat acceptable. For a price of 6.50 euros, this is extremely poor value for money. This is particularly a shame because the location of the restaurant – right next to the university – is actually ideal and offers a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the overall poor performance did not come close to meeting my expectations, which is why I have decided to avoid this restaurant in the future. However, I hope that the operator takes the criticism to heart and makes improvements in both the quality of the food and the service. With a little more commitment, the restaurant could definitely become a popular place to go.

Located in a rather quiet area, the restaurant is barrier-free. There were enough parking spaces available at the time of our visit. Although a buffet is served, Yang Guang stands out from the usual feeding temples with its nice ambience and pleasantly low noise levels. We got a table even without a reservation. The buffet is not that huge, but offers something for every taste, the dishes are tasty and were regularly replenished. The staff is very nice and attentive, the prices are at the lower end of what you usually pay for a buffet. Overall, the restaurant is recommended and we will definitely stop there again.

Recommendation? Go during the week and enjoy a very quiet and cozy atmosphere. The quality of the food is also much better. Buffets are all well and good, but the quality simply suffers. I ordered sushi as a starter. It was so delicious and fresh, and there were even two more pieces than described on the menu. Very cool, it's better to give it to the customer than throw it away because no one else will order it. Because the quality of the buffet suffers on the weekend, I deducted one star.

Average would be a good rating, but not even this, the food was spiced up with salt so that it simply tasted bad, never again this place. Waiter with base cap probably Eastern Europe, the cutlery was hardly put down, the plates were cleared away, and Chinese music was playing incredibly loudly as Wool Mao Giving a speech was probably Happy Birthday.

Quantity instead of class. All you can eat for 12.50, that should have made me suspicious. Sorry, but the audience matched it. Most of them are very overweight and their plates are full to the limit. WDR there at 1 p.m. Supposedly buffet until 3 p.m. Everything was already very "worn" and was not refilled. Only eat lukewarm and spices a. Food would have been nice too. In addition, the service was very inattentive. Had to complain to the employee at the bar for my drink. Then it still took 5 minutes for Madam to feel comfortable. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Good value for money at the buffet. The staff is pleasantly reserved without compromising on attention. The ambience is a mix of practical and kitsch.

The quality of the food was rather average in that the meat was very dry and the side dishes were not seasoned at all. The service was very friendly, but that doesn't make up for the quality. In terms of taste, the Chinese snack bars in Wetzlar are more recommended.

I don't understand some of the comments, I was there yesterday for the lunch buffet. Always plenty of choice, food was hot and very tasty.

Never again. I used to eat here often (before Corona), ordered twice (after Corona) and got food once with to good to go. Every three times "after Corona", i.e. since 2023, everyone who has eaten has spent a day with the worst vomiting and diarrhea. Everyone who eats can tolerate glutamate and the like, so the assumption is that the food is poorly administered. If 0 stars were used to create a review, then there would be minus 1.

As you can see, you don't see anything! I ordered fried noodles with eggs. I only got noodles! They didn't want to give me any money back either. I won't be ordering anything from here again, thank you!

Went for lunch today with 4 people (no all you can...). Nothing special in terms of taste. Kim Phat and other Chinese snacks are a lot better here. Unfortunately the ingredients in the menu were not fresh. Fresh parsley with a carrot as decoration on the plate doesn't help either.

Been there three times yesterday and giving them another chance was absolutely the last time for me. My dish was supposed to be with curry, it didn't taste like that at all, there were vegetables and the plate was full of green beans (it's cheap). I can advise everyone against this restaurant.

Wow... once and never again. The positive: Ambience really great, typically Chinese. To be honest, 8 hot pot seafood delicacies were really well done. That's it The negative: Service was ok... Friday buffet is right at the entrance, that's a straight 6 in my opinion. Spring rolls that are too greasy and prawns so carelessly on the plate are better in the snack bar. A total of 10 guests with an estimated 200 seats gave us concerns right from the start, but oh well. A lot has to be right for the guest to come back. At least not us🤷🏼‍♀️

Little choice. The food was ok. It wasn't replenished regularly, so some of the compartments were empty.

Nach wie vor das lieblings Restaurant meiner Frau und mir. Viel Auswahl am Buffet. Qualitativ sehr lecker. Ein sehr gutes Preis / Leistung Verhältnis. Angenehme und freundliche Bedienung.

Habe Essen über die Foodsharing App to good to go geholt. Ansich eine mega Sache. Sind auch bisher nie enttäuscht worden in anderen Läden. Die Dame war freundlich und nett. So viel kann ich sagen. Im Restaurant hab ich schon mal den Deckel der Verpackung geöffnet und dachte, ich sehe nicht recht. Alles Essen wurde einfach aufeinandergestapelt. Soetwas ekelhaftes habe ich noch nie gesehen. Matschige Pommes unter frittierten Bananenbällchen. Völlig fettiges Fleisch dazwischengewürfelt. Sushi war auch dabei. Seit langem war ich echt sprachlos. Bevor ich solche Reste verkaufe, werfe ich sie lieber in die Tonne, oder verpacke es wenigstens separat. Man kann doch nicht alles komplett durcheinander verpacken. Meine Tochter hatte später dann Durchfall, weil sie schon hier und da von dem Essen gepickt hat. Nie wieder!

Wir waren schon öfter da und es war immer gut. Leckere Speisen, Sushi und Nachtisch alles von guter Qualität. Service war super und freundlich. Alles in allem ein gutes Restaurant.

Leider ist das Buffet direkt und ungeschützt hinter den Eingang. Daher auch fast alle Speisen Lauwarm. Schade. Meine Empfehlung-dass Buffet in Innenraum aufbauen und besser Wärmen. Sonst ist es dort recht gemütlich!

Manchmal sollte man vielleicht mehrere Male die Lokalität besuchen.... einmal war ich am Montag 18.12.23 zum Mittagessen da, Service zufriedenstellend und nett. Dann am Mittwoch den 20.12.23 zum Abendessen, dieselbe Bedienung schlicht eine Katastrophe. Möchte hier gar nicht mehr sagen, wir verließen das 'Restaurant' begleitet von dem Ratschlag " Du wiederkommen Samstag Buffet " Fazit, wir NICHT Wiederkommen.

Ich gehe hier seit Jahren sehr gerne essen leider muss ich feststellen dass in letzter Zeit es keine frische Theke mehr gibt sie ist immer leer so dass man nur noch Standard essen zu sich nehmen kann das hat allerdings den Reiz dieses Restaurants ausgemacht dass man sich frische Mahlzeiten zubereiten lassen konnte besonders sonntags wo der Preis ja deutlich höher ist wäre das angebracht

Kleines Restaurant mit höflicher und netter Bedienung. Das Mittagsbuffet war, na ja. Ich wurde satt, aber ich kenne besseres. Bei dem Preis von 10.90 Euro sollte man aber nicht meckern. Die Location war sehr sauber und die Möbel sahen nicht alt aus. Die Bedienung (Chefin) war sehr höflich und nett. Die Toiletten waren auch okay und auf jeden Fall engagiert sauber gemacht. Das sah man. Also alles in allem eine ganz klare 3 Sterne Wertung.

Immer gerne dort zum Essen, einer der besten im Umkreis von Wetzlar.

Waren früher oft und gerne da. Mittelwelle kann man sich nicht mal mehr frisches Fleisch und Fisch vom Buffet braten lassen..... Auswahl sehr mager geworden.

Echt lecker Essen. Buffett sauber und schön angerichtet. Essen immer frisch und schnell nachgefüllt. Konnten bei schönem Wetter sogar draußen sitzen.

Ich hatte das Mittagsbuffet. War alles ausreichend vorhanden, warm und lecker! Preislich auch gut.. Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service.

Wir habe dort mit 6 einen Geburtstag gefeiert. Essen war gut, ich als Vegetarier hatte genug Auswahl, mein Tofu war top, die Frühlingsrollen ohne Fleisch, der Rest hatte meist Ente und war sehr zufrieden. Die Portionen waren üppig. Nachtisch gab es vom Buffet. Die Wirtin super nett, hat noch, als Sie erfahren hat, dass es ein Geburtstag ist, die Happy Birthday Platte aufgelegt und einen leckeren Cocktail ohne Alkohol ausgegeben. Ein wirklich gelunger Abend, schade das das Wetter nichts für die schöne Terrasse war. Das Ambiente ist angenehm, die Räumlichkeiten bieten viel Platz.

Über Google sind wir auf das Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Dias Restaurant befindet sich in einer ehemaligen Werkstatt in der Alten Kaserne in Wetzlar. Leider wird der tolle Charakter des Gebäudes komplett vernachlässigt. Der Aussenbereich wirkt ungepflegt und wirkt schmuddelig. Es steht eine alte Gefriertruhe und eine vernachlässigte Palette mit Glasscheiben herum. Das Buffet ist mehr oder weniger im Eingangsbereich aufgebaut, was etwas ungewöhnlich wirkt. Vom Buffetbereich hat man den offenen Blick direkt in die Küche… leider auch nicht sehr geschickt gelöst. Das Buffet kostet 16,90€ pro Person und ist für das speisenangebot ok. Die Salatauswahl ist eher gering. Das Buffet bietet ein paar fertige gerichte, scampis & Fisch, Beilagen und eine kleine Auswahl Sushi. Am Nachtisch-Buffet gab es Melone, Eis, Wackelpeter und div obst. Service war nett. Alles in allem ok, aber es könnte definitiv besser sein.

Tolles Restaurant. Eigentlich müsste das Restaurant nur durch das Ambiente allein 10/10 erhalten. Essen war wie immer sehr lecker. Wir hatten beide das Mittags Buffet. Die Auswahl war mehr als ausreichend und das für einen unschlagbaren Preis. Wir würden gern öfter hier essen nur leider etwas zu weit von Leipzig weg.

Leider gefällt und schmeckt es uns dort nicht mehr ,sehr eintöniges essen ,Scampi werden mit allem in Schale paniert frittiert ,wer isst die so ? Kein Mongolich mehr (frisch zubereitet) Sonntag mittag ,wir dachten es wäre geschlossen, putzen sie die Fenster während die Leute ( ok ,waren höchstens 10) dort assen. Nein in Zukunft nicht mehr .

Innen drin kalt. Lauwarmes essen. Wenig Auswahl. Bei Reservierung wurde gesagt . Auch Mongolische Essen. Nichts da. War mir nur peinlich vor meine Familie und das an meinem Geburtstag. Früher war immer gut. Aber komme nie wieder. Wenn man was sagt heißt nur um kosten zu sparen. Also im Umkreis von 50 km ist das die einzige Restaurant die sparen will.

Wir hatten von mongolischem Grill gelesen, gab es nicht. Sehr einfaches Sushi und am Buffett eher durchschnittlicher Standard und meist nur lauwarm. Atmosphäre eher wie im Chinaimbiss, scheint auch viel außer Haus zu gehen. Preis-Leistung passt nicht, 19,90 Euro für Erwachsene und 9,90 Euro für Kinder, da erwartet man etwas mehr als Imbissqualität.

Wir waren zum Mittagsbuffet am Samstag 3.10. Samstags ist der Preis lt Karte 9,90, da dies jedoch Tag der Einheit war, hat man den Feiertagspreis von 14,90 haben wollen, schlappe 50% Preisaufschlag. Allerdings war absolut nichts von dem hier abgebildeten Buffet mit Fleisch zum Grillen Schweinefleisch, Rindfleisch, Putenfleisch, Hühnerfleisch, Kängurufleisch und Meeresfrüchten vorhanden, es gab lediglich vorgefertigte kleine Stücke z.B. Chicken Wings usw. Also ziemlich unfaire Preispolitik und absolut unangemessener Preis für das effektiv vorhandene Speisen Angebot. Geschmacklich sehr mittelmäßig. Ich kann das Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen. Das Lokal war auch relativ leer, abgesehen von einigen asiatischen Gästen, spricht nicht für große Beliebtheit.

Das Essen war wie immer super lecker, das Personal sehr nett. Man kann dieses Restaurant wirklich nur weiter empfehlen. Wir sagen herzlichen Dank und freuen uns jetzt schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch. 😍👍👍👍

Für mich es ist das erste Chinesen Restaurant wo ich könnte eine Reservierung online machen.Dann kommt die Reiche Auswahl für Speise,sehr gut abgesmeckt,für mich und für meine Familie die beste Grillplatte was haben wir bis jetzt gegessen in eine Chinese Restaurant, alle sehr gut gegrillt und super gewürzt.Service Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Von meine Seite 5+Sterne,und wir werden wieder Besuchen..und die Toiletten sind sehr sauber.

Die Buffet-Auswahl ist groß, geschmacklich ok, Masse statt Klasse, Frühlingsrollen, Chicken Wings etc. sind fertig gekauft. Es könnte öfter aufgefüllt werden. Mongolisches Buffet hat mich noch in keinem asiatischen Lokal überzeugt, da liegt die Rohware stundenlang mehr oder weniger gut gekühlt offen rum und harrt der Dinge, die da kommen. Ich als Gast habe die Wahl, mein Gericht selbst zusammen zu stellen. Da ich aber niemals so viel Ahnung und Erfahrungen von asiatischen Essen habe werde wie ein asiatischer Koch, überlasse ich das lieber dem Fachmann😋. Wenn der Fachmann aber nicht so kochen kann wie er es Zuhause tun würde, weil es dem durchschnittliche Deutschen dann nicht schmeckt, ist das Ergebnis leider auch nur durchschnittlich. So auch hier (kann der Koch aber nix für🙄). Die Bedienung ist freundlich aber nur mäßig aufmerksam. Die Geräuschkulisse ist enorm. Klar, wenn viele Menschen da sind, wird es laut, man hatte aber das Gefühl, die Servicekraft in der Küche wollte das mit exzessivem Geschirr-Scheppern übertönen... Die Preise sind günstig und angemessen. Die Toiletten sind renovierungsbedürftig.

Komme immerwieder sehr gerne mit Familie und Freunden. Mogolisches Buffet wird frisch zubereitet. Buffet ist reichhaltig und ein besonderer Tip von mir probier das SUSHI;)

Alles Top, das Essen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung äußerst freundlich, das Ambiente schön und sauber. Ein Restaurant, dass man wirklich weiter empfehlen kann. Obwohl ich eigentlich kein Sushi- bin, hat der Küchenchef es geschafft, auch mich zu überzeugen (siehe Bild unten). Hervorzuheben ist auch, dass es beim vielseitigen Mittagsbuffet sehr gute Ente und Scampis gibt. Unsere ganze Familie freut sich jedesmal, wenn es heißt, dass wir hier essen gehen. Alles frisch, super lecker und dazu noch so günstig und das schon seit Jahren. Vielen Dank, macht bitte weiter so!

Das Mittagsbuffet ist gut Die Ente ist sehr Lecker das Rindfleisch mit Zwiebeln besteht leider aus 70% Zwiebeln man muss das Fleisch suchen ist aber sehr schmackhaft.!! Abendbuffet würde ich nicht empfehlen da es sich nur durch den Mongolischen Grill der dann geöffnet ist unterscheidet, und das für fast das Doppelte am Preis.

Herlich , neue Klimaanlage ermöglicht dass geniessen der leckeren Speisen. Bei diesem Wetter das ideale Lokal .Viel Spaß ,es lohnt sich ein Besuch.

Dieses Restaurant verdinnt einen Lob.Eigene Parkpletze für die Geste.Modernes und sauberes Ambiente.Büffet immer Abwechslungreich ,warm und frisch zubereitet.Gute Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Salaten ,und Dessert.Bedinung freundlich und schnell.Bin Asien Fan und ich gestehe das auf meinen unzähligen Reisen ,h aber ich auch nicht unbedingt vielfältiger gegessen ( in 4-5 Sterne Hotels wie auch in lokalen Restaurants und Bars.Gehe öfters zum Mittagessen und mit Familie mindestens 2 bis 3 x im Monat hier essen.Ich kann dieses Lokal nur empfehlen.
