The price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for me; I've had better meals. The ambiance was quite nice.

Months in advance, we reserved a table for three to celebrate a very important birthday. What we got was a small booth for three, with a tiny table in a seating area for six, which we had to share with three other guests. The food was over-seasoned for my taste and felt heavy in my stomach. The Asian staff were very polite, but some had language difficulties and struggled to understand our orders. Although we asked for longer breaks between courses, the main course arrived extremely quickly, leaving us feeling rather rushed. We would have been better off at the Italian restaurant around the corner. I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. It's simply not worth the high price.

The initial impression is that it's a Chinese restaurant, but the ambiance and menu don't quite match. The staff is very attentive, though they sometimes don't understand everything immediately. The food is very expensive but very good. They charge an extra €1.50 for packaging for takeout orders.

We had dinner at Weinstock on October 24th. When we made our reservation, we requested a quieter table. This request was happily accommodated. A wonderful ambiance, excellent cuisine, and very attentive service. Thank you for a wonderful evening, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

A fantastic restaurant with a very pleasant ambiance thanks to its beautiful high vaulted ceiling. The staff is very friendly and well-organized. The food arrived at the same time for the entire table, and there were no long waits for everyone to get their food. The food is exceptionally good, despite the large number of customers. We had both fish and meat dishes, all beautifully presented and delicious.

Whenever we're in Leipzig, the Weinstock restaurant is a must. We always try to reserve table 12. It usually works out. The food is fantastic. Very good service. The food is always excellent. The beef tartare is a must. We also had the sea bass with artichoke and the goat cheese as an appetizer. Highly recommended.

Had the carpaccio and the schnitzel. Both were very good, well presented and generously served. Even the potato salad which I usually barely eat was really fine. Everything on the menu looks great and I would love to try something different another time. The service was great, there is an elegance and attention to details unfortunately not commonly found these days. A very pleasant experience and reasonably priced especially for the quality of the food, service and location.

Unfortunately, after reading all these good reviews, my expectations were greatly exceeded. The service was very attentive and the restaurant is nicely decorated, which is why it has the stars. But...the salmon tartar was made of cooked salmon with scrambled eggs. The prawns on the salad were too dry, as was the fish in the main course, the risotto was too al dente, the pasta tasted overcooked, and the desserts were insignificant. The place is quite expensive, though.

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, I went to your outdoor restaurant with a companion. The food was good, as expected. The pike-perch was perfectly cooked. The waiter I summoned presented his bill folder, showed the bill, and I added a large bill to it, waiting for him to leave as usual and return the change. Instead, the waiter stood there silently, looked at me questioningly, and waited to see if I wanted to say anything. Probably because of the tip! My companion and I were embarrassed because we've only seen such behavior at other, very inexpensive restaurants.

The food was delicious. But the service was terrible. They brought us one menu for several people. Then they forgot to bring us cutlery. We needed oil for our appetizer and had to wait forever for someone to come over. And it wasn't even full that day. There's definitely room for improvement.

Ambience is nice as long as you don't sit in the aisle. The service is good. Unfortunately, the food was very seasonless, the cream soup was far too runny and the beer was warm. Of four dishes ordered, three were served, and the error was corrected upon request.

25 euros for potato rosti with lettuce leaves is quite a number. They weren't overly friendly either and there were black hairs stuck to the tablecloth. Ambience is ok.

Well, there is a lot more appearance than reality here. Very good location on the Leipzig market, tables beautifully set, classy flair. Almost romantic in the basement below. 5 stars for that. However, for the prices advertised, it was just average food. Cream of asparagus soup tasted like it came out of a bag, the asparagus served with the fish was only half-cooked. The wine we ordered wasn't there even with the main course and had to be ordered. The service, although friendly and respectful, was uncertain when handling porcelain and silverware and did not have a firm grip. Constantly clinking dishes and eating tools at the mercy of gravity determined the acoustics. Conclusion: prices too high for only mediocre quality. Not an unreserved recommendation.

Very elegant dining with outstanding service (menus available in English upon request) and delicious food. We shared a small Cesar salad with warm grilled chicken as an appetizer (the dressing was rich and well balanced) and then I had the Saxon roast duck with dumplings and red cabbage, each of which was perfect. Highly recommended. The 4 stars for atmosphere is only because of our bad luck dining when the walkway was being repaired just outside, making quite a lot of noise.

This wasn't our first time here. Why? The reception is already very friendly. The jackets are taken away and taken to the cloakroom. You rarely experience that. The service staff was always very attentive throughout the entire stay. Even the refilling of water was taken care of. The food is of high quality and the price is reasonable. Large restaurant in the heart of Leipzig, on the market. Nice and quick service. Good selection of tasty food and drinks.

Superior service meets fine cuisine. A lot of attention is paid to details here. From an attentive cloakroom service to the perfectly coordinated cutlery, everything has been thought through. The stylishly set tables with white tablecloths give the ambience an elegant touch. Particularly pleasant: On a weekday evening, the restaurant wasn't crowded, so we were able to have a good chat in a relaxed atmosphere. What was also surprising was that the restaurant looks smaller from the outside than it actually is. I chose the homemade ravioli with goat cheese and can recommend the dish without hesitation. The accompanying Riesling sauce was a real poem and harmonized perfectly with the filling. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and are already looking forward to our next visit.

We were there for the first time. Unfortunately our reservation was registered a week later but a lady took care of it extremely professionally, friendly and committed this problem taken care of. I assume she was the one Shift manager or something similar and made everything right again with her great attitude. Thank you that there are still such employees who do their jobs in such an exemplary manner! Of course the food was also very tasty!

We ordered a 4-course menu with the Happy Dinner Card. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. Everything was tasty. We felt completely comfortable and didn't have the feeling that we were served less well with the card. I can only recommend the vine. And I'll definitely be back. Keep it up.

A big compliment to the restaurant. Food very good 3 courses. There were two of us and we wanted to have a nice evening. We ate 3 courses so 6 and each meal had a different drink. It's a problem for many restaurants today to achieve exactly that. But not the vine glasses of top red wine tempered espresso hot. Food good as usual 👍 100% Thanks for the evening.

We were in the restaurant at Christmas. Very good food. Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit stressed and tense, which you could feel as a guest.

I had a pleasant evening here. I received a very friendly welcome and attentive service throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the kitchen wasn't completely convincing. My pheasant breast was very dry. A side dish from my companion was served lukewarm. The baked apple with marzipan filling lacked acidity. After all, the selection of vegetarian dishes would be too small.

The service was excellent. We had the 4 course menu. Unfortunately, some of the food was a bit oversalted, dry and all in all not very good. The individual portions were a bit overloaded.

We have held many business lunches at the Weinstock and have always been very satisfied with the service and the food. Last week we enjoyed our Christmas party in the wine cellar and here too it was very friendly and courteous service with very good, high-quality food. The delicious goose was our personal highlight. We will come back at any time and can recommend the Weinstock to anyone who wants to be pampered with culinary delights. Thank you for that.

Es war kein gepflegtes gemütliches Abendessen. Es war unglaublich laut und eng, Unterhaltung war nicht möglich. Das hochpreisige Essen hat zwar geschmeckt. Aber es war lieblos auf einem Pastateller serviert... Rehgulasch, Gemüse, Preisselbeeren?, Klösse... Alles hatte sich vermischt, unapetitlich. Im Nachhinein haben wir uns geärgert, den vorreservierten Tisch belegt zu haben.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! SERVICE 0 STARS Without a Happy Dinner Card, all seats are available, but as soon as you mention "Happy Dinner Card" you are literally uninvited... You are a second class person with that! Definitely avoid this "restaurant"

The restaurant advertises its “happy dinner card” to offer a menu for two people for the price of one on weekdays. Since we don't know the restaurant yet, we wanted to get to know it this way. The table reservation by telephone for a Tuesday worked perfectly, only when we referred to the happy dinner card, the reservation was spontaneously canceled on the grounds that the effort for the staff was too great. Any discussion was pointless. The ad via happy dinner card is obviously just for advertising purposes to draw attention to yourself... We then found another restaurant that we were very happy with and would like to come back, even without a happy dinner card. We will avoid the “vine” in the future because we are obviously not welcome here.

We visited the location in question on the recommendation of the Steigerberger Hotel. Due to the short notice, we were offered a table in the basement of the restaurant and were informed that there was no cell phone reception down there - that was to be our downfall later on. We describe our unique experience with this restaurant ascending the scale of disappointment and audacity: Poor service - service (except the blonde lady) always and constantly delivers food and drinks to the wrong tables and there are obviously problems with understanding and communication. In a restaurant that claims to be of a “higher standard”, the selection of personnel is incomprehensible. Hospitality Owner Lives - Since we were expecting an important call from our daughter and as described above there is no cell phone reception in the basement, I asked the blonde lady if it would be possible for us to get a table in the main area upstairs. She said no, because all the tables were full, but kindly offered that she could keep her cell phone with her upstairs and let us know when it rings. The gentleman to our right at the bar heard this offer and, without being asked, intervened in our conversation with the sentence: “No, we won’t do that! We're not a social center here!” This gentleman turned out to be the owner at the same time. I was visibly shocked and after a sentence or two I let him know that we would now be leaving the store. We can't say anything about the food, but we won't throw our money down the throat of a man like that. Good luck for continued success!

Liver dumpling soup delicious. Unfortunately duck is not my cup of tea. Sauce was sour and meat didn't taste fresh. Service excellent and super friendly. Ambiance very pleasant and well maintained.

Very nice dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, the quality of the food couldn't keep up, especially for an upscale restaurant. One meal was oversalted and we almost completely returned it, while others were not seasoned. I'm not even talking about the lack of finesse. It's a shame it looked so promising.

Nice cozy restaurant in the city center. The food was great and the service was good, but slightly annoying/intrusive when you were asked by different waiters every 3 minutes if you needed anything else. The thought is nice but sometimes less is more 😉

Muy buen lugar, gran ambiente, deliciosa comida. Mis trucos son: por primera y única vez en el este de Alemania, tuvimos problemas de idioma, el personal que nos cuidaba no era fuerte en inglés. Necesitan más variedad en aperitivos, todos eran alguna forma de sarro (carne cruda). Una ensalada de acompañamiento sería una buena adición al menú. Los postres necesitan más variedad, específicamente, algo de chocolate. Teníamos el pato, la ternera y el cerdo, así como la sopa fría de pepino, la sopa de champán y trufa y la esencia de tomate. Terminamos con la tarta de queso con bayas. Bonita carta de vinos, incluyendo un montón de opciones de copas. Todo estaba delicioso.

Esta fue una recomendación de nuestro hotel y no decepcionó. Un entorno encantador, situado en la plaza del mercado, con manteles blancos, cristal fino y personal atento y servicial. Aperitivos de cortesía fueron ofrecidos antes de nuestros platos principales de trucha y cerdo, ambos cocinados a la perfección y muy bueno.

Der Weinstock begleitet uns schon seit vielen Jahren. Hier haben wir unsere Hochzeit gefeiert, einen 50. und einen 60. sowie unseren 20. Hochzeitstag. Und natürlich sind wir bei jedem Besuch in Leipzig dort. Das Essen ist sehr gut, abwechslungsreich und die Küche erfüllt auch gern mal einen Extrawunsch. Auch der Service ist trotz der Wechsel im Laufe der Jahre immer auf hohem Niveau. Wir wollten heute einfach mal DANKE sagen.

Upscale restaurant that lives up to its standards. The business lunch was great value for money, the Königsberger meatballs were good, the market dumpling soup was excellent, the coffee was very good. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is very stylish. And all of this directly on the market. As a Leipziger, I would go here for lunch several times a week!

We arrived late in Leipzig on a Sunday night and were not hopeful to find dinner so late but happily Weinstock agreed to serve us and we ate well! The Chantarelles (Pfifferling) are in season so my husband had Tagliatelle with cream sauce and these wonderful mushrooms with slices of beef. I had an egg tarte with artichokes and sundried tomatoes and ratatouille (and for some reason a pre made guacamole that really didn’t go with the dish). No matter, we were happy to eat and have a good pint of Ur-Krostitzer on tap. We shared a panna cotta for dessert. The bill came to 80€ with tip! We highly recommend

We had dinner last night and had the 3 course menu. The restaurant is very pretty but the dishes were not up to what previous reviews suggested. A little too salty and without subtlety. The meat is however of good quality.

The outside area is also beautifully done. The service is friendly and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. The wine selection is decent, which is what I expect given the name. The food is high quality, tasty and skillfully prepared. Reservations are recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

Nettes kleines Lokal am Leipziger Marktplatz gelegen. Daher kommt es vor, dass es mitunter sehr laut ist. Heute gerade wieder ein Stadtfest mit Musikbeschallung vom Feinsten. Sehr unangenehm. Daher war ich schon fast froh, dass ich keinen Platz bekam, obwohl der Laden gerade erst geöffnet hatte. Samstags!

Environment and service nice - food a bit salty this time

A surprise in the midst of the service crisis in Germany. It was a feast for the senses for our son's birthday. The cuisine is excellent, the service is outstanding and the ambience is stylish. There is no point of criticism on our part. We can only recommend the house.

We had to wait for a long time because they forgot our order, but they realized themselves and we didn’t have to tell them which was good. The food was very good. I had a schnitzel and I would highly recommend it.

Ein traumhaftes Lokal! Die Onlinereservierung hat problemlos geklappt. Die Speisen waren vorzüglich, die Garnelen und das Fleisch hatten den perfekten Garpunkt. Alles war wunderbar gewürzt, großes Kompliment an die Küche. Auch unsere beiden Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und auf Zack! Ein Besuch dort ist nur zum empfehlen!
