Thanks for a nice menu with good wine. Very attentive service and nice atmosphere.

The restaurant upstairs seemed very cozy. Unfortunately we were down in the basement. It was rather cool there.

Always a guarantee for good food in Leipzig. What bothers us a bit is that some service employees constantly refill the glasses even though I only took a sip. Nevertheless, we always enjoy coming here. Very nice restaurant on the market in Leipzig. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. We'd love to come back.

We were in the restaurant at Christmas. Very good food. Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit stressed and tense, which you could feel as a guest.

I had a pleasant evening here. I received a very friendly welcome and attentive service throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the kitchen wasn't completely convincing. My pheasant breast was very dry. A side dish from my companion was served lukewarm. The baked apple with marzipan filling lacked acidity. After all, the selection of vegetarian dishes would be too small.

The service was excellent. We had the 4 course menu. Unfortunately, some of the food was a bit oversalted, dry and all in all not very good. The individual portions were a bit overloaded.

It's always nice to see that there is still a restaurant where the guest is king. Always delicious food and service that is impressive.

We have held many business lunches at the Weinstock and have always been very satisfied with the service and the food. Last week we enjoyed our Christmas party in the wine cellar and here too it was very friendly and courteous service with very good, high-quality food. The delicious goose was our personal highlight. We will come back at any time and can recommend the Weinstock to anyone who wants to be pampered with culinary delights. Thank you for that.

Es war kein gepflegtes gemütliches Abendessen. Es war unglaublich laut und eng, Unterhaltung war nicht möglich. Das hochpreisige Essen hat zwar geschmeckt. Aber es war lieblos auf einem Pastateller serviert... Rehgulasch, Gemüse, Preisselbeeren?, Klösse... Alles hatte sich vermischt, unapetitlich. Im Nachhinein haben wir uns geärgert, den vorreservierten Tisch belegt zu haben.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! SERVICE 0 STARS Without a Happy Dinner Card, all seats are available, but as soon as you mention "Happy Dinner Card" you are literally uninvited... You are a second class person with that! Definitely avoid this "restaurant"

The restaurant advertises its “happy dinner card” to offer a menu for two people for the price of one on weekdays. Since we don't know the restaurant yet, we wanted to get to know it this way. The table reservation by telephone for a Tuesday worked perfectly, only when we referred to the happy dinner card, the reservation was spontaneously canceled on the grounds that the effort for the staff was too great. Any discussion was pointless. The ad via happy dinner card is obviously just for advertising purposes to draw attention to yourself... We then found another restaurant that we were very happy with and would like to come back, even without a happy dinner card. We will avoid the “vine” in the future because we are obviously not welcome here.

Very nice restaurant on the Altmarkt. The food is of very good quality and the staff is friendly and very nice. Reservation is recommended.

We visited the location in question on the recommendation of the Steigerberger Hotel. Due to the short notice, we were offered a table in the basement of the restaurant and were informed that there was no cell phone reception down there - that was to be our downfall later on. We describe our unique experience with this restaurant ascending the scale of disappointment and audacity: Poor service - service (except the blonde lady) always and constantly delivers food and drinks to the wrong tables and there are obviously problems with understanding and communication. In a restaurant that claims to be of a “higher standard”, the selection of personnel is incomprehensible. Hospitality Owner Lives - Since we were expecting an important call from our daughter and as described above there is no cell phone reception in the basement, I asked the blonde lady if it would be possible for us to get a table in the main area upstairs. She said no, because all the tables were full, but kindly offered that she could keep her cell phone with her upstairs and let us know when it rings. The gentleman to our right at the bar heard this offer and, without being asked, intervened in our conversation with the sentence: “No, we won’t do that! We're not a social center here!” This gentleman turned out to be the owner at the same time. I was visibly shocked and after a sentence or two I let him know that we would now be leaving the store. We can't say anything about the food, but we won't throw our money down the throat of a man like that. Good luck for continued success!

Liver dumpling soup delicious. Unfortunately duck is not my cup of tea. Sauce was sour and meat didn't taste fresh. Service excellent and super friendly. Ambiance very pleasant and well maintained.

Very nice dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, the quality of the food couldn't keep up, especially for an upscale restaurant. One meal was oversalted and we almost completely returned it, while others were not seasoned. I'm not even talking about the lack of finesse. It's a shame it looked so promising.

Nice cozy restaurant in the city center. The food was great and the service was good, but slightly annoying/intrusive when you were asked by different waiters every 3 minutes if you needed anything else. The thought is nice but sometimes less is more 😉

Muy buen lugar, gran ambiente, deliciosa comida. Mis trucos son: por primera y única vez en el este de Alemania, tuvimos problemas de idioma, el personal que nos cuidaba no era fuerte en inglés. Necesitan más variedad en aperitivos, todos eran alguna forma de sarro (carne cruda). Una ensalada de acompañamiento sería una buena adición al menú. Los postres necesitan más variedad, específicamente, algo de chocolate. Teníamos el pato, la ternera y el cerdo, así como la sopa fría de pepino, la sopa de champán y trufa y la esencia de tomate. Terminamos con la tarta de queso con bayas. Bonita carta de vinos, incluyendo un montón de opciones de copas. Todo estaba delicioso.

Great restaurant with great, tasty cuisine, good wines and an all-round great ambience right on the market square in the vibrant city of Leipzig. In any case recommended.

Nettes Lokal direkt am Leipziger Marktplatz. Nach einem tollen Stadtrundgang (Dirk Langenhan - Orte. Menschen. Geschichten.) sind wir hier völlig ausgehungert eingekehrt und wurden sehr zuvorkommend bewirtet. 5 Sterne.

Esta fue una recomendación de nuestro hotel y no decepcionó. Un entorno encantador, situado en la plaza del mercado, con manteles blancos, cristal fino y personal atento y servicial. Aperitivos de cortesía fueron ofrecidos antes de nuestros platos principales de trucha y cerdo, ambos cocinados a la perfección y muy bueno.

Der Weinstock begleitet uns schon seit vielen Jahren. Hier haben wir unsere Hochzeit gefeiert, einen 50. und einen 60. sowie unseren 20. Hochzeitstag. Und natürlich sind wir bei jedem Besuch in Leipzig dort. Das Essen ist sehr gut, abwechslungsreich und die Küche erfüllt auch gern mal einen Extrawunsch. Auch der Service ist trotz der Wechsel im Laufe der Jahre immer auf hohem Niveau. Wir wollten heute einfach mal DANKE sagen.

Upscale restaurant that lives up to its standards. The business lunch was great value for money, the Königsberger meatballs were good, the market dumpling soup was excellent, the coffee was very good. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is very stylish. And all of this directly on the market. As a Leipziger, I would go here for lunch several times a week!

We arrived late in Leipzig on a Sunday night and were not hopeful to find dinner so late but happily Weinstock agreed to serve us and we ate well! The Chantarelles (Pfifferling) are in season so my husband had Tagliatelle with cream sauce and these wonderful mushrooms with slices of beef. I had an egg tarte with artichokes and sundried tomatoes and ratatouille (and for some reason a pre made guacamole that really didn’t go with the dish). No matter, we were happy to eat and have a good pint of Ur-Krostitzer on tap. We shared a panna cotta for dessert. The bill came to 80€ with tip! We highly recommend

We had dinner last night and had the 3 course menu. The restaurant is very pretty but the dishes were not up to what previous reviews suggested. A little too salty and without subtlety. The meat is however of good quality.

Very good restaurant on the market square in Leipzig. All around, from the service to the furnishings to the food and drink. Tastefully and valuablely furnished. The outside area is also beautifully done. The service is friendly and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. The wine selection is decent, which is what I expect given the name. The food is high quality, tasty and skillfully prepared. Reservations are recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

We ate at Weinstock for the first time today and were absolutely positively surprised. From the service to the food, everything was top. Will come by more often in the future.

Nettes kleines Lokal am Leipziger Marktplatz gelegen. Daher kommt es vor, dass es mitunter sehr laut ist. Heute gerade wieder ein Stadtfest mit Musikbeschallung vom Feinsten. Sehr unangenehm. Daher war ich schon fast froh, dass ich keinen Platz bekam, obwohl der Laden gerade erst geöffnet hatte. Samstags!

Environment and service nice - food a bit salty this time

A surprise in the midst of the service crisis in Germany. It was a feast for the senses for our son's birthday. The cuisine is excellent, the service is outstanding and the ambience is stylish. There is no point of criticism on our part. We can only recommend the house.

We had to wait for a long time because they forgot our order, but they realized themselves and we didn’t have to tell them which was good. The food was very good. I had a schnitzel and I would highly recommend it.

Ein traumhaftes Lokal! Die Onlinereservierung hat problemlos geklappt. Die Speisen waren vorzüglich, die Garnelen und das Fleisch hatten den perfekten Garpunkt. Alles war wunderbar gewürzt, großes Kompliment an die Küche. Auch unsere beiden Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und auf Zack! Ein Besuch dort ist nur zum empfehlen!

We got a warm welcome on a wet and chilly day and reall6 loved 5e food. The whole place was very reminiscent 9f childhood and eating with m6 grandparents who were German refugees in London. Portions were generous, the food was simply and well cooked, linens were lovely and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely go back.

A nice German restaurant in the heart of Leipzig, with beautiful interior design and outdoor tables. The service was fast and polite. They speak English and they have an English menu! Whatever we tried was very tasty, especially the schnitzel!!

We ordered the 5-course menu. Price-performance was great. Special creations. Usually 5-course menus are provided. Here we were able to freely choose 1 starter, 1 soup, 2 main courses and 1 dessert. The 5-course menu costs €77 in May 2024.

Delicious, but I waited a really long time for my dessert. But very nice service, Pham absolutely friendly waitress. Really great. :)

Very disappointing visit despite the seemingly good reviews. Food is average. When ordering the menu option, even though they state you can pick an option from the existing menu, what they do not tell you is that the portions for 3 courge menu are half the size. You do not save much money and you have half the food. When I raised the issue and why they did not clarify the difference they just struggled their shoulders. If the food was good, I'd have excused it somewhat. But seriously, find somewhere esle. Very short stuffed, too. Tourist trap. Avoid

Honestly some of the worst food I had while in Leipzig. It was a somewhat cool day so we dined outdoors. I had a white fish of some kind, very fishy with soggy skin still on and no seasoning, no taste. At this price point I would have expected seasoning at a minimum! I would not recommend. Location is great, but food is not. They got me on the location this time, I will not make that mistake again.

We expected more! The restaurant resides in a very attractive space. The whole restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly and careful. There is an extensive and well-stocked wine list with good local wines. Unfortunately, the food was completely out of the ordinary. The wild herb salad only consisted of a minimal amount of real wild herbs and the rest was drowned in a sweet, creamy dressing. With a salad like this you would expect vinegar and good oil. Unfortunately the main courses were also unsuccessful. The vegetables that accompanied the narrow side of sea bass were neither salty nor spicy in any other way, they were just bland. The pasta with wild garlic pesto tasted like a lot of things, except wild garlic and that in Leipzig!! The beef fillet tips were sometimes tough and cut into extremely small pieces. When it comes to dessert, no improvement. The panacotta with rhubarb jus or puree had the problem that the rhubarb puree clearly had a sting and was therefore not really edible. The waitress acknowledged this in silence, and the restaurant responded - none! Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant experience that one would not have expected given the name and price level.

We were guests at Weinstock Leipzig last week. First of all, it was just pure enjoyment, 7 plus. As soon as we arrived we were greeted in a very friendly and professional manner. My wife chose the three-course menu, I chose the five-course menu. Every course was a culinary delight. A warm greeting to the kitchen. Conclusion: You can always drink wine, but in the right atmosphere, with the right person and with excellent food, it still tastes best. 100% Weinstock recommendation

The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and you are served by professional and eloquent people. The meals were excellent. ( Compliments & greetings to the kitchen ) The prices were reasonable considering the presentation and the quality of the food. Our requests were quickly accommodated and we didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. The restaurant also has an outdoor terrace with a wonderful view over the market. The sanitary facilities were also very stylish and very clean. We'd love to come back!

We were there last week for a business event. Food and service were first class. It wasn't the last time I was there.

I just liked everything here. The dishes were very nicely prepared and the taste was very good for me.

Everything was actually excellent. We had a nice table, there was bread at the front and a greeting from the kitchen. As a starter we had beef carpaccio, but it wasn't convincing. Meat was cut too thick and too wet. It was also soggy from the dressing from the arugula and the pesto. It was all just too much. The taste was okay. Unfortunately, for the main course I had a very bad risotto, which I had really hoped for better from a restaurant like this. The consistency was completely mushy, you couldn't even recognize it as such, it was a sticky pile, the taste was okay with the side dishes. Very unfortunate

Very tasty food in an upscale atmosphere in the upscale price range. But the price/performance ratio is right. Unfortunately it took almost an hour for our food to arrive, so one point was deducted.

Very nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and super nice staff. We had made reservations by phone with a request for a window seat, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. When we arrived, the friendly waitress told us that she now had a window seat for us. We were very pleased. The menu had something for every taste. You could also easily combine anything with anything else. As a starter we had a tarte flambée with Provençal vegetables and goat cheese gratinated. Simply delicious and a portion for 2 fits perfectly. My crispy sea bream on asparagus tips with nut butter potatoes was also delicious. Add a wine from the Saale Unstrut region and everything is fine. We would be happy to come back and recommend you. Thank you! Kühling family

I had reserved a table for the following day and got it without any problems. Once I was there I realized why it was better to make a reservation. It was well attended and every table was occupied by the time we left. Despite the amount of people, we didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. The service was courteous and very careful to ensure that everything was right for us. The food was delicious and the price was justified. We chose the 3-course menu for €55 each. We were very satisfied and went home full.

We sat down at a table on the patio in the sunshine to enjoy a glass of wine. We ordered relatively quickly and had to wait more than 15 minutes for our drinks. The table hadn't been cleared by our predecessors and only after being asked to do so was the table not even wiped down, but rather freed of crumbs by hand. Some guests, including us, went into the restaurant to pay...because none of the waiters were in sight. Although the outdoor seating area and the restaurant were not overly full. Given the price of €9.50 for a glass of wine, you could certainly expect a little more, which is a shame.

The two of us attended the Weinstock rehearsal dinner for our small wedding celebration in mid-January and were immediately impressed by the beautiful ambience, the great service and, above all, the delicious food. It's German cuisine, but with finesse. Our wedding dinner at the beginning of February was great! Our guests were able to order a la carte so that every taste could be met. When I asked about non-alcoholic sauces, I was offered alternatives. They always checked whether drinks were still needed, so the service was great. And the feedback already in the grapevine was that at least 3 family members (there were only 10 of us) had to come back again to try out the menu and wine list more closely. Thank you for a perfect wedding meal.

We were very happy again yesterday with cod and butter schnitzel. In the separate side guest room there is a very nice ambience and careful service. The beautiful classical music is also very pleasant. We will be back.

Sehr gutes Essen und freundliche Bedienung.

Hervorragender freundlicher Service. Die Küche mit Tino Kaiser war mehr als überzeugend. Besonders gelungen war der Wolfsbarsch mit dem Safranrisotto. Und die Dessertvariation hat uns dann völlig überwältigt. Unbedingt empfehlenswert !!!

Guten Tag, zunächst möchte ich das engagierte Kellner*innenteam loben, das ausnahmslos das Befinden ihrer Gäste abfragt und unentwegt Getränke nachschenkt oder Getränkebestellungen aufnehmen möchte. Leider wurde ich nicht gefragt, ob ich Wasser nachgeschenkt haben möchte, unsere Gläser wurden einfach wieder gefüllt. Dies störte mich teilweise sehr, weil ich mein Gespräch oder das Essen unterbrechen musste. Sicher kann man es nicht jedem Gast recht machen, wie viel vom Getränk er zu sich nehmen möchte. (In dem Fall eine Flasche Wasser für drei Personen). Die "Chefin" ist unentwegt damit beschäftigt, ihr Personal zu "beherrschen". Eine sehr autoritäre Führung nahm ich wahr, dem Personal wurde jede individuelle Professionalität abgesprochen und helicoptert. Die sehr teure Hauptspeise hatte keine Salatbeilage, was ich als sehr enttäuschend empfand. Zudem war sie mengenmäßig eine kleine Hauptmahlzeit. Auf eine Nachspeise haben wir verzichtet. Preis-Leistungs(Essen)-Vergleich: verbesserbar! Beste Grüße ins Personalteam.

Leute....das ist sicherlich eine Adresse, wo man sehr gut hingehen kann. Wir waren dort mit einer Gruppe von 12 Leuten. Viele unterschiedliche Essen und alle waren begeistert. Insbesondere die liebevolle, freundliche Art des Personals, die uns bedienten war mega. Ich als Nordwestfale empfinde diese offene Art und Weise, wie die Verkäuferinnen, Angestellte ind sonstiges Personal durch die Bank alle super freundlich sind. Ein Lächeln erobert hakt die Welt. Das ist bei uns hier leider nicht so. Top

Mitten auf dem Marktplatz an der Ecke gelegen. Wunderschönes altes Gewölbe Feeling. Sehr guter Service. Das Menue erscheint interessant, für 50 Euro 3 Speisen, jedoch sind die einzelnen Speisen etwas weniger als in Einzelbestellung, jedoch für uns ausreichend. Die Tatar war grossartig frisch. Die Gans auch, kam aber an das Tatar kicht ran.

Schönes traditionelles Restaurant in zentraler Lage. Preis,- Leistung ist leider nicht optimal. Das heißt, wer wirklich hungrig ist, ist bei solchen kleinen Portionen aufgeschmissen.

Sehr gute, teils regionale, deutsche Küche. Immer freundliches und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Faire Preise. Ich bin gerne dort Stammgast, weil einfach alles stimmt. Absolut empfehlenswert! Mittags günstiges Businessmenü.

Nachdem der am Eingang gelegene Tisch für uns 4 Personen nicht unseren Wünschen entsprach, wurden wir in sehr netter Art nach kurzer Wartezeit anders plaziert und das mit einem Aperitiv auf Kosten des Hauses. Wir verbrachten einen sehr angenehmen Abend mit einem leckeren 3 gängigen Menu. Der Service war ausserordentlich freundlich. Auch das vegetarische Essen für 2 unserer Gäste fand grossen Anklang, weil es sich wohltuend von den manchmal einfallslosen Gerichten in anderen Gaststätten unterschied.Für den mehr als gelungenen Abend möchten wir uns nochmals bei dem gesamten Team und der "Chefin " bedanken,für Leipzig eine ausserordentliche Empfehlung für einen Restaurantbesuch

Traditional German restaurant which serves traditional German food, tastes good. Nice service. Cozy atmosphere. But nothing makes it stands out.

Das Restaurant "Weinstock" hat sich 5 Sterne verdient. Sehr freundlicher Empfang; das Personal aufmerksam & professionell; die Küche ausgezeichnet. Mein Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert.

Tolles Ambiente, toller zuvorkommender Service, Essen top und eine nette Bedienung (Spätdienst 4). Kann ich nur empfehlen!!
