On Saturday we were registered with seven people. It worked wonderfully and I even had room for my walker. The waitress immediately came to the table and took the order. There was wonderful juice that I enjoyed so much. The waiter was super nice, the food was delicious, it's worth going there again and ordering seats. There are even two large, thick trees growing in the inn. I've never seen anything like that. I wish the restaurant team all the best, lots of success and many guests. Thank you very much

We were guests in one of the rooms offered from August 3rd to August 6th, 2024. The location is excellent if you like it quieter and have dogs with you, like we do. The room is modernly furnished, has WiFi, TV, a large balcony, a large bathroom with shower and a small kitchen. The only drawback for us was that the induction cooker didn't work and we had to laboriously prepare our dinner in the microwave. I can't say whether it was an operating error on our part or another problem. Unfortunately there was no contact person on site that evening. That's why there are only 4 stars.

...a pleasant place to stay in these high summer temperatures. In my opinion, the menu prices are a bit more “exclusive” for Gera conditions. But that's ok, since I'm not a long-term guest and wanted to treat myself to it and try it out 😊 Our lunch was nicely prepared and we enjoyed it 😋

We celebrated my 60th birthday at the Waldmeisterei and I can only recommend the location. The food was great, the service was very friendly and quick, despite a wedding in the next room and the heat. My guests were also able to use the overnight accommodation there and since everything is disabled-friendly, a wheelchair user was also able to take part in the celebration. It's a nice location, you can sit inside and outside quite casually and the beautiful location invites you to take a walk. All guests were completely satisfied. We'll definitely be back.

We once again had a very nice family celebration with an overnight stay here. This time the buffet was absolutely top notch, as was the service and friendliness of the staff. The location is nice and quiet in the forest.

Had lunch with family today. The menu on the internet was totally out of date as completely different offers are currently available. The price-performance ratio does not match. You had to wait far too long to get something. It wasn't very crowded, but waiting over half an hour for a carpaccio is too long for me. Wouldn't recommend it.

The location is really nice, but unfortunately the wait staff doesn't have the beer garden on their radar. Many guests leave because no one comes and once you've been served you wait forever...it's actually a shame

Well... It was better... We were there on the weekend and apparently there were several parties that day, but they weren't there yet and the staff was helplessly overwhelmed. We politely asked for a table and just wanted a coffee and an ice cream anyway. Only after begging were we allowed to sit down. Then the wrong ice cream sundae was brought and the portion size left a lot to be desired... A scoop of vanilla with some eggnog and applesauce €8... Hello? When I order an ice cream sundae, I don't expect an ice cream sundae... If you're overwhelmed with your walk-in customers on a sunny day, then call it a closed party outside. I won't go there again

The place is very beautiful. An idyllic location in Gera's city forest. The restaurant is actually very clean too. Went there for the fourth time today with several people and were pretty dissatisfied. The food was served lukewarm to almost cold. Portions were really small for the money. The food selection for children is very sad and monotonous. There was a spider on a beer bottle, which was pretty inviting. Our conclusion after this visit. We won't come back because the politeness of the service has also deteriorated.

Unfortunately, the poor service spoiled the otherwise very good food. A person in our family invited me and a third person to early Christmas dinner. The third person came later, but we already ordered 3 goose legs for €26 each. The third person then came and also ordered a drink. We then got two meals, the waitress didn't notice the third goose leg, but didn't ask what the third person wanted to eat. There was only one other person in the restaurant besides us, the waitress really wasn't under any stress. The third leg of goose came much later and we watched each other eat it. For the price you can ask for some attention. Never again!

Very nice atmosphere. Service perfect. Food perfect. Unfortunately the portions are too small, there needs to be more. I think the increased use of materials would ensure an extremely full restaurant.

Price performance is really right here. The hotel is somewhat remote and the nearby forest with its autumn leaves invites you to take a walk and switch off. The people involved are really good people and very friendly. The accommodation clean and spacious.

I performed there as a mobile DJ with my Musikexpress and I was really impressed. Great location in beautiful surroundings (Waldmeisterei!) with sparkling clean rooms in an appealing ambience, very tasty food and drink as well as quick and courteous service! I get around a lot as a DJ and unfortunately sometimes I get to know the complete opposite. My principle is: if I want to know what the kitchen looks like, I'll look at the toilets! As already said, everything was great, also highly recommended for family celebrations and weddings!

Wir wollten nach einem Waldspaziergang nur Kaffe trinken. Wir warteten 15min ,es kam keine Bedienung. Es war nicht viel los, gegen 16.00 uhr. Gäste zahlten am Thresen da sie zu lang warteten. Geschirr überall auf Tischen. Wurde nicht abgeräumt. Schade wir sind wieder gegangen!!!

I ordered a rump steak medium. I got a cold English rump steak where not even the herb butter had melted. When I asked again to fry it again briefly, I was answered somewhat snidely that it was medium rare, which is what I wanted. When it came back, it was fine. Without a steak knife, it was still an art to cut it well on the small plate. When my little son wanted to go to the toilet, I got up from the table. When I came back my food was gone. (Cutlery wasn't laid out so the meal was finished). Was my last time there.

Had a wonderful anniversary evening in this restaurant yesterday. Had something prepared as a surprise. And everything went smoothly. I do not know where to start. The service, very friendly and accommodating, always on hand. We had the candlelight diner and it was just incredibly good. 5 courses, and all were incredibly good. The price is also unbeatable for this menu. We had to personally thank the kitchen team and let them know how impressed we were with their performance. A special note is also drawn for this 😁. All in one, a very successful evening. In terms of decoration, service and ambience, which is also fantastic, we can only recommend it. We have already made reservations for the St. Martin's Goose meal and New Year's brunch. We are looking forward. Keep it up, you're a great team. P.S. Please keep the team in the kitchen. Heute per Zufall (über Restaurantsuche im Internet) sind wir Gäste in der Waldmeisterei gewesen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung (Herr Hilbert), leckeres Essen (gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis), sauberer Sanitärberich. Zusammenfassend, es ist einfach alles stimmig gewesen. Wir können die Waldmeisterei somit (auch als kinderfreundliches Lokal) empfehlen.

In der Waldmeisterei haben wir im August 2023 unsere Goldene Hochzeit bei leckerem Essen, guten Getränken und tollem Service gefeiert. Auch die Übernachtungsmöglickeit haben wir gerne genutzt und am Morgen ein leckeres,Frühstück genossen. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Vielen Dank für alles. Mit dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis waren wir auch sehr zufrieden.

Sehr lecker und schöne Umgebung, über die Zimmer kann ich leider nix sagen da wir bloß essen waren.

Wir waren im Restaurant zum Schulanfang meines Neffen hier essen. Das Service- Personal war trotz vollem Haus super entspannt und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war in angemesser Zeit fertig, wurde sehr ansprechend serviert und war sehr schmackhaft. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder her. Aus meiner Sicht sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten ein candle Light Diner. War alles wirklich perfekt. Der Tisch sehr schön dekoriert. Das Menü sehr gut abgestimmt. Essen hat wunderbar geschmeckt und alle Gänge kamen in kurzen Abständen nacheinander. Unsere Kellnerin hat das super organisiert zusammen mit dem Koch. Super freundlich und für jede Frage ein offenes Ohr. Vielen lieben Dank für den schönen Abend. Wir kommen wieder.

Es war ja nur für eine Übernachtung, Zimmer waren gut ausgestattet. Sauberkeit sehr gut, Wer sich nicht daran stört in einer Unterkunft für betreutes Wohnen untergebracht zu sein, alles in Ordnung. Würde gerne wieder dort übernachten.

Hervorragendes Essen und gut sortierte Getränke kann man in ruhiger Lage am Wald genießen. Die Bedienung auch außerordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Gerne wieder!

Das war mein geilster Geburtstag seit 40 Jahren!! Das Essen war ne Wucht, super Auswahl, alles frisch, dem Koch musste ich das einfach persönlich mitteilen. Der Service ist einfach außergewöhnlich entertaining. Die Cheffin haben wir nicht persönlich kennengelernt aber ihr Händchen für das richtige gut harmonierende Personal ist unverkennbar. Ich danke euch von Herzen für die schöne Zeit! Und meine 3kleinen Kinder haben sich sich sehr wohl bei euch gefühlt und vom Essen geschwärmt und das sind jetzt schon kleine Gourmets! Eine Gaststätte in bester Lage, gehobenes Niveau, aber kein gutes Personal und die Qualität des Essens bei ständig wechselnden Köchen lässt auch immer mehr nach. Wir suchen uns nun ein anderes Lokal.

Wir haben zum Geburtstag meines Bruders hier gegessen. Wir waren alle positiv überrascht. Das Essen war super lecker. Die Angestellten sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und haben sogar Späße mitgemacht. Super angehmer Aufenthalt. Macht weiter so.

Wir haben in der "Waldmeisterei" in Gera undere Goldene Hochzeit gefeiert. Vom ersten Kennenlernen mit den Mitarbeitern über die Vorbereitung der Feier, alle Absprachen, während der Feier und selbst bei der Abrechnung, wir haben uns immer wohlgefühlt. Kompetente Cheffin, kompetente Mitarbeiter, alle freundlich, zuvorkommend und mitdenkend. Eine wunderbare Dekoration des Raumes, das Abendbuffet traumhaft in Vielseitigkeit, Präsentation und Qualität. Da stimmte einfach alles. Ein Spitzenkoch unter unseren Gästen (Hotels in Zürich, San Diego USA, Amsterdam, Hambug, Müritz) hat das bestätigt. Die für die Feier angemieteten Zimmer waren zweckmäßig und sauber. Jedem der eine Familienfeier in Gera plant können wir dieses Restaurant/Hotel in unserm Stadtwald wärmstens empfehlen.

Me and my German partner (whose family are local and live in Gera), decided to hold our wedding at the Waldmeisterei recently, and we would really like to extend a BIG thank you to all staff for making our wedding such a great day! Frau Oesser was great in helping organise, and on the day itself, we had a great Italian waiter (whose name I forget I'm afraid!) who were simply wonderful! Staff were really friendly, and the food /buffet they organised was very well received! We had relatives from France & England and everyone found the food and reception GREAT - so a BIG THANK YOU for making our day so special!

Wir konnten im August eine tolle Familienfeier in der Waldmeisterei verbringen. In der Vorbereitung hatten wir immer mit Fr Oeser zu tun, welche sehr nett und kompetent ist. Ein Buffet haben wir uns aus einer großen Auswahl von Speisen selbst zusammengestellt, ebenso bei der Getränkekarte. Die Location ist wirklich sehr schön, sauber und modern. Das Essen war super abgeschmeckt und gewürzt, ansonsten alles wie bestellt. Auch die Bedienung während der Feier war sehr freundlich, angenehm und unaufdringlich. Auch die Abwicklung nach der Feier war total entspannt. Wir können also die Waldmeisterei 100%ig weiterempfehlen, egal ob für eine größere Feier oder für ein Abendessen in kleiner Runde.

Essen war in Ordnung, halt das was man erwartet. Also heißt Qualität ist ok aber es fehlt die Phantasie. (nur Standardmenüs, Schnitzel usw.) Service ist höflich und zuvorkommend.

Dieses Restaurant ist sehr schön im Wald oberhalb des Tierparkes gelegen. Man kommt sowohl zu Fuß, als auch mit dem Auto sehr gut hin und kann es damit super mit einem tollen Waldspaziergang verbinden. Das Essen ist lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich.

Die Waldmeisterei ist ein Restaurant am Stadtrand von Gera, mit guter Speisekarte, modern eingerichteten Räumen und freundlicher, flotter Bedienung. Wir haben hier schon 2 große Feiern erlebt und waren rundum zufrieden. Ein Plus sind auch die Hotelzimmer.

Wer hier Familienfeiern und Hochzeiten ausrichtet ist hier gut aufgehoben. Wer dagegen einfach mal Mittag essen will sollte sich zum Frühstück satt essen. Wir waren mehrere Male zum Mittag hier und sind trotz Kritik an den Portionen immer wieder enttäuscht worden. Wer zu einem Gericht 5 Mandelbällchen serviert und weit über 10 Euro bezahlt wird hier sicher enttäuscht sein.Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier überhaupt nicht.Hier wird offensichtlich mehr Wert auf große Feiern und Events gelegt.Das Personal dagegen ist immer freundlich und die Atmosphäre stimmt auch.Wenn hier noch an den Portionen gearbeitet wird gibts nichts mehr zu meckern. Zum Kaffee und einmal zum Abendessen haben wir uns in der Waldmeisterei sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und flott. Es gibt sicher einen Wiederholungsbesuch.

Zu einer kleinen Familienfeier konnten wir im Vorfeld die kleine Karte, das Ambiente usw. direkt mit der Restaurantchefin absprechen. Zur Feier selbst war alles sehr gut vorbereitet, Getränke und Essen wurden schnell serviert und das Personal war immer zur Stelle. Das Essen war hervorragend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.
