Gerne! Hier ist eine etwas begeistertere Version: Ein rundum gelungener Besuch! Die Waldklause in Linden überzeugt mit hervorragendem Essen, herzlichem Service und einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können die Waldklause wärmstens empfehlen!

Für Steaks vielleicht die Nummer 1 in Gießen. Auch die Spießchen, die im Kaminzimmer auf offenen Feuer vor den Augen der Kunden gegrillt werden, sollen herausragend sein. Die Steaks waren es. Medium und Medium-Rare auf den Punkt gegart. Als Vorspeise ist die Garnelenpfanne sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich. Wir haben hier einen sehr schönen Abend verbracht.

Gestern hatte ich ein wunderbares Tatar! Ein sehr gutes Steak-Haus .it tollem Fleisch.

Wir kommen regelmäßig hier her um wirklich, wirklich sehr gut zu essen. Preislich im mittleren bis gehobenen Segment angesiedelt, aber dafür wird man wirklich fürstlich bedient und bekocht. Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen! Egal ob Fleisch, Fisch oder Geflügel, der Koch gibt sich nicht nur Mühe, der lebt seine Leidenschaft!!! Ganz ganz großes Lob von unserer Seite, macht weiter so! Leckeres Essen, Fleisch direkt vom Holzkohlegrill, super Service!

Essen war sehr sehr sehr lecker. Bedienungen schnell und sehr nett. Immer wieder 10/10!!

Wir haben 3 Steaks und einen Cheeseburger bestellt, alles ausdrücklich medium. Zwei der Steaks kamen jedoch nur medium rare an. Das dritte war nach etwas Wartezeit immerhin in Ordnung. Der Cheeseburger war allerdings komplett roh. Nach unserer Reklamation bekamen wir denselben Burger zurück – bereits angeschnitten und offensichtlich nur nochmal kurz bearbeitet, sogar mit einem zusätzlichen „Piekser“, um das Fleisch wieder zusammenzuhalten. Außen war das Fleisch dann verbrannt, innen trotzdem noch roh. Das Brötchen war zudem knüppelhart. Mit wurde immerhin angeboten einen neuen Burger zu bekommen, (was übrigens direkt bei der ersten Reklamation hatte erfolgen müssen) , mir war jedoch der Appetit vergangen. Ich verstehe, dass man einen schlechten Tag haben kann, dass es schwer ist gutes Personal zu finden, dennoch ist eine solche Leistung in einem solchen Restaurant, bei den aktuellen Preisen absolut inakzeptabel. Eine solche Qualität ist eine Frechheit. Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

Nichts für jeden Tag, zum nim. Nicht für "Normalverdiener" Aber für ein besonderes Highlight absolut top. Sehr, sehr zu empfehlen. Tolles Ambiente, super nette Bedienung und das Essen einfach ein Traum.

The food was okay, but very expensive; there are better and cheaper options. Unfortunately, it's very small, so there's no chance of a group of 6-9 people getting in.

Sehr gutes Lokal nette Bedienung, Essen einfach nur Super. Das Lokal ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet mit offenem Grill für die die Spieße sehr große Portionen. Mein Mann hat vor dem Foto schon mit Essen angefangen.

The food is truly delicious and of high quality. However, there have been several instances of very long waiting times – most recently we had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food. This is clearly too long and detracts from what was otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Everything is just right here. From the staff, who are very friendly, attentive, and professional, to the selection and quality of the food. The fireplace room is particularly great. There, you can watch, among other things, how the skewers are prepared over an open fire. The prices may seem a bit high to some, but for what you get, they're absolutely justified. I'd be happy to come back.

I especially enjoy the fireplace room here. The food is top-notch (I'd say it's the best restaurant in the Giessen area), and the service is always attentive and friendly.

I've known the Waldklause for over 30 years. It's a wonderful location, and the dining room with the open fireplace is simply wonderful. Today we were there with a group of eight people. We had reserved a table in the fireplace room and unfortunately sat in the side room, which I don't think is particularly cozy. The food was generally good, but considering the price, there were a few challenges: the steaks were wonderfully tender, but both orders were significantly overcooked: medium-rare became medium, and medium became well-done. We were offered to swap the steaks and grill them again. I generally don't want that kind of thing, as you can't enjoy the meal together, and besides, it's simply a complete waste of meat. Hence the rating, so they can simply do better. As a steakhouse in a certain league, it simply has to be reliable. The salad was soggy and the dressing wasn't particularly good. The raspberry dressing used to be one of the best I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, it was light years away from that. A meal (gluten-free) with many special requests was unfortunately brought out completely wrong twice, so that in the end, it couldn't be eaten. That was a shame. The waitress tried to resolve the situation amicably, although he was unfortunately somewhat helpless. As compensation, some nightstands and schnapps were offered. That's nice and a wonderful gesture, but there were still too many shortcomings for one evening. The aim of this review is to raise awareness and ensure the outstanding quality of the Waldklause for the next 30 years :-)

Lovers of first-class, perfectly prepared meat have come to the right place. We had an excellent meal and received very friendly and professional service. The ambiance of the terrace could be improved a bit, but that's complaining at a very high level. Inside, the Waldklause is beautifully and tastefully decorated. A definite recommendation for anyone who understands that quality comes at a price.

A perfect stay from start to finish! Ms. Auer put incredible effort into making us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was always fresh, delicious, and the service was impeccable. The entire hotel exudes tranquility, is family-run, and you can feel the true passion of the hosts. One of the top 10 restaurants within a 50km radius of Giessen! Only the ambiance, upon closer inspection, has a bit of a feel of an older, converted single-family home by the forest, but the outstanding food quickly makes you forget that :-)

Unfortunately, the gourmet skewer was still completely raw, even though I ordered it medium. It felt like the meat hadn't even been on the grill yet. What a shame! So, the value for money was unsatisfactory for me.

Wir besuchen die „Waldklause“ schon seit 1999 und lieben den Spießbraten, der über dem offenen Buchenholzfeuer gegrillt wird. Dazu die überragende hausgemachte Aioli und eine der vielen leckeren Beilagen…. Einfach ein Traum. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Preislich etwas höher angesetzt aber jeden Cent wert, da alles frisch zubereitet wird.

Today we were in the Waldklause for the first time. I wanted to invite my family to something special and so we found out about the Waldklause quite by chance. The meat was very good, as were the side dishes. Everything perfectly served and prepared. The service was also great. The prices are high, but you know that in advance if you have looked at the menu in advance. For us it was worth it, we had a nice evening with very good food. We will definitely treat ourselves to this every now and then.

The Waldklause restaurant in Linden is a true gem! The atmosphere is stylish and cozy, the service exceptionally friendly and professional. The dishes are a culinary dream – fresh, creative and perfectly prepared. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair, and every visit becomes a special experience. I can fully recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit.

My last visit to the Waldklause was 10 years ago. I was impressed not only by the food, but also by the cozy ambience in the fireplace room. A week ago we went to the Waldklause again for a very special occasion and were really looking forward to this evening. We each ordered the fillet steak, medium rare. On the one hand, the meat I was served was neither medium rare nor medium, but completely cooked through. The other half was medium at best. The leaf spinach that I chose as a side dish was served completely overcooked and mushy, without any texture, without a tender bite, and the taste was hardly convincing. Another negative point: According to the menu and previous requests, the meat would be served with, among other things, herb butter. We didn't get the herb butter, but instead we got a kind of white mousse without herbs with a bit of garlic flavor. I finally gave my criticism to the friendly staff and of course I could have sent the meat back. However, I rejected this idea because I wanted to eat with my companion. What was supposed to be a very special evening unfortunately turned into an unexpected disappointment.

Always nice there. The tartare was very tasty as a starter. Unfortunately, the gourmet skewer was a little overdone, even though it was ordered medium. If you like your meat to be on point, you shouldn't take the fillet off the skewer. Dessert was also very tasty.

The food and service are really very good. I can't write anything negative about it here. Everything was great. The meat is very tasty and perfect. There isn't the greatest choice for vegetarians. As a non-vegetarian, I loved it here. I will definitely come here again. The prices are of course high, I would say, but the meat is worth the money. However, I think the drinks are too expensive.

Every visit is simply worth it! I love the quality of the meat and have never had a reason to complain. The cooking level has always been maintained as desired. The only minor point of criticism - it's a shame that each side dish costs extra, but each of them is still very tasty! We always enjoy coming back.

The food in the Waldklause is really really good. The skewers are really top quality. I would give this 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star because the prices - especially for the fillet skewer - have skyrocketed. That's okay, but you shouldn't skimp on the dips and bread. Unfortunately, this is always very little and the price is then immediately increased again. Still a very good quality restaurant.

Eins der besten Steaks, welches ich je gegessen habe. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente und ein nettes Team. Der etwas höhere Preis ist mehr als gerechtfertigt.

“Mediterranean” starter platter with Swedish salmon rolls??? Demanding €31 for it with a cost of goods of €3.50 and Aldi products..... Ochsenbäcken were Tranig and unfortunately I had to throw up in the restaurant! Really sad what the kitchen hands over to the service!

Mega steaks! Top quality and to the point! I had the 400 gram rump steak in medium rare! And that was like a picture! Simply great! We'll be back on Thursday! Really reasonably priced too! Not picked up!

Very good as always! Not exactly cheap, but you get great quality and the fillet is just as you want it. We also had an appetizer platter, which is also highly recommended.

We had dinner there last week and unfortunately it didn't match the quality of a few years ago. One steak was very good, the other was rather tough. The side dishes were all mediocre at best. At a price of just under 200 euros for two people, the quality should actually be excellent. The food offered here can be found elsewhere for almost half the price. A pity! However, the service was very nice.

The food here is of very high quality and beautifully prepared. The service is courteous and professional. Unfortunately, the furnishings and location of the terrace do not match the standards of the rest of the restaurant. Nevertheless, we always enjoy coming here. ;-)

Very nicely located on the edge of Linden. The food is absolutely delicious, the meat prepared over a beech fire has a lovely aroma. The portions are reasonable. If you want more, you can expand the side dishes.

We were pleasantly surprised. Reserved for steak with 3 guests due to the recession. Great ambience in the fireplace room. Steaks all cooked to perfection as ordered. The host should think again about the side dishes. Industry Rösti frozen goods? This at a very high price. Better to leave it out. Anyone who enjoys steak should reserve a table. We'll definitely come back again.

The food is fantastic: delicious, fresh and very high quality. Service also perfect and very accommodating. For example, we were asked if we would like to move to another, better place after a place in the fireplace room became available and we would soon be the only ones in the room. A reservation in the fireplace room is recommended as it is much nicer than the other room. There is less for vegetarians, but it is no problem to put together a dish from the side dishes.

Prices are a bit higher, but the taste is extremely good and therefore justified.

We dined as a couple and have known the restaurant for a long time. It was different than usual. The steak was not of the usual quality. There were no longer any regional offers on the menu like they once were. Still recommended, but just different.

Best steakhouse in Central Hesse

You cannot offer two guest rooms with such large differences in quality. In the large dining room there is a real fire, in the small one there is just a television with a cheap fire animation. This room is filled with cheap furniture and is more reminiscent of a snack bar. We were placed near the door and could hear everything from the waiters and the kitchen. This ambience can never be reconciled with the prices charged. The room is very small and has a lot of seating, which means the noise level is very loud anyway. We were also unlucky that evening: a family with two children who, to put it mildly, did not have their children under control. We politely asked for a table in the main room, but this was curtly denied, with no interest in why we wanted to do that. In the end, the food was averagely good, but too weak for the prices asked. We wouldn't go there again just because of the ambience.

Very nice cozy location. Very friendly, attentive service staff. Eating takes a while, but you can watch the skewers cook. They are cooked over a wood fire and were delicious. The burger was also very tasty and good. We will be back !!!! Thank you

Quite long waiting time for ordering

I can recommend it to everybody. Small, cuddly and delicious. It's nice that the Waldklause exists with its delicious dishes and courteous service. Quality - price performance absolutely justified.

The service was nice and good but we were disappointed with the food. The meat was tough and only lukewarm. It was supposed to be medium but it was through. It's a shame, maybe we were just unlucky, but they didn't really deliver for the money.

Very tasty fillet skewers, which are freshly grilled in the fire. You can choose appropriate side dishes for the selected dish. Also a good and large selection of drinks. All food appears to be freshly prepared and homemade. However, the fireplace room is more comfortable than the other room. You could work on the lighting here...

Es ist ein besonderes Steakhaus allein schon wegen dem lustigen Grillautomaten im großen Gastraum. Hier werden nach eigenem MacGyver verfahren leckerste Spieße gegrillt... Auch wenn vermutlich alle Gerichte lecker sind, würde ich immer einen Spieß nehmen. Die sind einfach besonders und besonders lecker! Der Service ist auch immer aufmerksam, nett und flink. Eine der Top Adressen in und um Gießen.

Hier gibt es absolut fantastisches BBQ u.a. vom Buchenholzgrill der mitten im Gastraum integriert ist. Die Schweinelende ist mein Favorit!!! Aber auch alles andere ist sehr sehr lecker! Top Location, Reservieren und genießen.

Leider hat das Restaurant Waldklause in den letzten vier bis fünf Jahren in sämtlichen Bereichen, Ambiente mal ausgenommen, stark nachgelassen. Wir gehen dort schon seit über 12 Jahren regelmäßig essen, weil die Waldklause nunmal eines der besten Steakhäuser im weiteren Umkreis war. Bei den letzten Besuchen hatte leider keines der bestelltes Steaks den gewünschten Gargrad und auch die Fleischqualität war schon deutlich besser. Mittlerweile ist dieses Steakhaus nur noch Mittelmaß. Auch der Service war die ganzen letzten Male zwar freundlich, aber sehr nachlässig und unaufmerksam. Sehr schade, wenn man bedenkt wie gut dieses Restaurant einmal war.

Pizza war gerade so ausreichend, nichts besonderes. Langee Service Zeiten für Getränke.

Spontaner Besuch und sicherlich nicht der Letzte. Beim nächsten Mal gerne im Kaminzimmer. Service und Qualität des Steaks hervorragend. Besten Dank - wir kommen wieder.
