Landgasthof Zum Löwen „beim Philipp“ in Linden

We spontaneously visited you on December 7th, 2025. Unfortunately, we had already eaten, so we stopped by for a beer. We have rarely experienced such friendliness and, above all, such enjoyment of one's work! We would love to come back again, just to try your food.

We had reserved a table for our family at our wedding, and what can I say? Superb service, beautiful table decorations with fresh flowers, a menu we'd agreed upon beforehand, and everything that arrived was absolutely delicious. We've rarely eaten such good schnitzel, braised beef cheeks, and roast beef with onions anywhere in the area. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) was divine. The service was very attentive but not intrusive.

The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would gladly return and highly recommend it.

I can't understand the many positive reviews, but perhaps we were simply unlucky. We were a large group. Without being shown the drinks menu, we were asked what we wanted to drink. When we asked what was generally available, the answer was, "Just the usual: Coke, water, Fanta..." Okay. A wine list was on the table. After we had placed our order and the drinks arrived, one drink was missing, and we had to point it out to the waiter. These things happen. The menu consisted of only about 9-10 main courses. According to the server, these were the only dishes available. We had checked the menu on their website beforehand, and it offered a much wider selection. I don't understand how they can offer so few dishes on weekends during the pre-Christmas season and not provide their guests with a regular, comprehensive menu...? As a customer, I would also like to know the drink prices or at least be able to see what's available. There were no appetizers or desserts listed. When we asked, we were given a small slip of paper with the desserts listed. I expect good service to include being asked if we'd like dessert or another drink. Someone always came to clear the table, but none of us were asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Only when we specifically asked did the server take action. That can't be right. The service was unfortunately poor. The food was okay, but not what we were hoping for. The parking situation is difficult. The ambiance is very nice—quaint with a touch of modernity. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I won't be coming back.

We ordered two Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel), but the sauce for both schnitzels contained exactly one mushroom (cut into four quarters). When I inquired about this, I was told they were out of mushrooms. They should either mention this when ordering or remove the dish from the menu that day. The kitchen staff and the owner didn't seem to care much, even though we've celebrated milestone birthdays and wedding anniversaries at his father's restaurant. There was a sign near the entrance advertising "Starnberger Weisse" (a local beer). Since I wasn't familiar with it, I was looking forward to trying it. When I tried to order one, I was told it wasn't available. Again, they should take down that sign. Taste: The side salad, schnitzel, and Kellerbier (a type of cellar beer) were good; the fried potatoes were just okay.

We were there for a meal, so I can't comment on the rooms; however, the service and food were excellent.

The food was excellent, but we didn't feel very comfortable because the waiter kept coughing very loudly. It's a shame, otherwise it would have been a lovely experience.

This was my second visit to the restaurant, both times as an invited guest at a company event. Service and food were excellent on both occasions.

We celebrated a 60th birthday with excellent food and an overnight stay including breakfast on Sunday morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and the kitchen deserves special praise!

A good place for a good meal. It's a busy place, with couples and families alike. Delicious food, generous portions. I'd happily come back anytime!

A truly fantastic restaurant with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere with a modern twist. You can tell the heart and soul of the food here. The service was friendly and attentive. It's great to have a place like this right in the village. We'll definitely be back! I enjoy coming back regularly :)

I ate there for the first time today and was delighted to see the friendly waitress (formerly Calabrisella) again. That's actually a huge plus and a reason to eat there more often now!

Fantastic food, great service, only criticism: the side salad was served in a warm bowl, so the salad was also partly warm.

Yesterday, we sat outside again and enjoyed the excellent food, along with a delicious Landwehr beer. All from local suppliers and farmers. Excellent service, a good beer selection, and excellent value for money. We'd love to come back.

I wanted to reserve a table for two people. All I could manage to say was, "Do you happen to have a table for today?" I was interrupted with a "No." When I then asked for tomorrow, I was interrupted again with a rude "No." When I thanked them anyway and wished them a nice evening, they simply hung up with a goodbye. I understand that people often have stress in the restaurant industry, but my call was a minute before the restaurant opened. Apparently, this restaurant is so busy that they don't care about new customers. It's a shame!

Good food at reasonable prices. Offers food and drinks from local producers. Rustic country restaurant atmosphere. All in all, highly recommended!

We were here for dinner in the restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime. The chop and pork fillet were really delicious. For beer lovers there are also some delicacies on tap. Clear recommendation! :)

The hotel entrance was locked, no one answered the phone. No information anywhere on whether the accommodation was in operation.

This restaurant and the rooms are absolutely fantastic! I have been at the Landgasthof Zum Löwen many times, and never left disappointed. The staff is super friendly and will do everything they can to accommodate their guests.

We were only there to eat, eating goose was particularly recommended. It was incredibly loud in the dining room. The goose arrived soon, but it wasn't as warm as we would imagine a dish that comes straight from the kitchen. Plus it wasn't crispy either. The red cabbage tasted strange and was too salty. The sauce was plentiful but flat in flavor. The dumplings taste like convenience food. And then this dish was also very expensive, almost 40 euros for one portion. Wow, I was served again. I won't be going out to eat anymore and won't be there for a long time. It's a shame, we were so looking forward to this highlight once a year.

Very tasty food, delicious beers and great ambience

Went there for lunch. Meal according to the menu with two drinks €45. But plenty of it! Jägerschnitzel with fresh mushrooms! Bread dumplings with fresh chanterelles! Delicious!!! There is also a lunch menu. Service friendly. Family atmosphere. Plate preheated. Any time. Parking a bit difficult. Reservations recommended in the evening. Card payment possible!

01/13/2024 Stopped by Philipp again today for the New Year's hike. Philipp Senior, we miss you! Service, food, hospitality as always very good. It's just like being at home with families. Thank you Regina. Even in lockdown, the country inn “Beim Philipp” is there for its guests in the usual way. After pre-ordering by telephone, the treats can be picked up in the evening and enjoyed at home. If you bring your containers with you for transport, you can do so sustainably. The quality of the food is excellent, as is the restaurant. Regional products, magically prepared. I wish the whole team a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021. See you soon again in the restaurant. Steffen

Mit Kollegen zum Abendessen dort gewesen. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, anscheinend neu gestaltet. Das Essen war auch richtig lecker. Braten, Kalbsschnitzel und Kotelett sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Speisekarte ist klein aber fein! Nur die Parksituation ist eine Katastrophe, vor allem während der Hauptessenszeiten.

Deutsch/ Hessisch / Österreich wer Hausmannskost liebt ist hier richtig, Toll fand ich das hier mit Produkten aus eigener Herstellung und Produkten aus der Region gearbeitet wird.Gemütliches Lokal und sehr lecker war es. Komme bestimmt wieder.
