Restaurant Vörn Diek in Dahme

Bad weather on the Baltic Sea beach and then a stop at a friendly, good restaurant, which happened on a Sunday at the end of October. Was welcomed and served by attentive, very service-oriented staff. A menu that had something to offer for everyone, especially fish fans. What was remarkable was that the cheap lunch menu is also valid on weekends. We opted for the normal portions, but they were very huge. Baked potato with North Sea crabs on salad and herring fillet with fried potatoes and salad. Both tasted very good.

Fresh and good food. The lunch menu has a very good price-performance ratio. Nice location right on the promenade with a view of the sea.

Service: Very pleasant, attentive and friendly. Ambience: Right on the promenade, great view over the beach to the sea. We also found the interior design very pleasant. Food: I had the mixed fish grill platter. It was a very large portion. Unfortunately very salty. The fish fillets were well fried, not cooked through but not raw either, to the point. They had a yellowish crust that tasted very salty. My wife had the schnitzel Holsteiner style. That also tasted very good and again a large portion. Since my wife has various intolerances, she always pays attention to the list of additives. The schnitzel is advertised with No. 1 + 8 of the additives, according to the card it contains preservatives and vegetable fat. My wife also found the food very salty. We suspect that glutamate is being used here. Unfortunately my wife can't stand that. Unfortunately, my wife didn't understand the idea of ​​glutamate as a preservative. Using glutamate in the kitchen is completely okay. My suggestion to the kitchen is to dose better and include it as an additive. But since I wasn't in the kitchen myself, based on our experience we can only assume that glutamate is used. That's why (salty, unusually yellowish and not spelled out on the menu) I only give the food 2 out of 5 stars. However, if you don't have these problems, you will certainly have a very nice time here.

I've heard a lot about the restaurant and now I was looking forward to my first meal there...I was there for lunch and ordered Schnitzel Jäger style with fries and salad...The service wasn't very talkative, just doing her duty...the ambience was just okay...well, when the food arrived I immediately saw that it wasn't fresh...French fries, simple and cheap, schnitzel wasn't freshly fried but was warmed up but was tender...the hunter's sauce was unfortunately as expected the bucket and therefore nothing other than from a chip shop around the corner... the only thing that was fresh and tasty... was the salad... Unfortunately it's not worth eating there for the price...

Today the third year in Dahme and once again Vörn Diek! Great food, perfectly prepared dishes, nice, quick service, everything is just right here. Anyone who is on vacation here has to try it out. We love coming back again and again and can only recommend it!

I think we've been here 5 times today. The food was pretty good. Dishes with red cabbage are not recommended. Totally drowned in fatty gravy. But that's not the worst the service is a disaster. We had a complaint about our drink after a short moan and a new one was brought to us. The best thing is that we were charged for the drink. When I asked the specialist, who barely spoke German, all he said was: You ordered it and I could have still drunk the other drink. Just one sip out and with the same new drink everything was fine and there were no more unwanted insects in the drink. Absolute disgrace, we will never go there again. We were there with 8 people and everyone immediately said never again. Logically there was no tip - the already overpriced amount was almost shocking.

Delicious food and served quickly despite the restaurant being full right on the beach

Food was good. Service a disaster. Just got a beer. A minute later wasp in and we were supposed to pay it anyway and how cheekily this was communicated when I asked them about the bill. Anywhere else this would have been service. Never again!!!

We are there several times during every stay in Dahme. The food is great, but this year we had the feeling of not being welcome. The ladies in service seemed very annoyed, stressed and unfriendly. The negative mood was clearly noticeable. Only a very young MA and a young man were friendly and had a smile for the guests. What a shame!

The lunch menu has something for everyone and all for a whopping €13.20. There’s also dessert for €3.00 more. The staff is quick and friendly. I always feel like I'm in good hands here and the dog is allowed to come too. Nothing to complain about, just good!

I was there twice within two weeks. I ate the same thing twice and it was delicious both times! But such service from a store like this is incomprehensible to me. On the second visit the same lady served me as on the first visit. During both visits they didn't even ask if everything was OK or even if it was tasty. When paying, no thanks were given for the tip, there was only a goodbye. On the second visit, the salad was also forgotten. I ordered a dish that cost €30, so you could definitely make more effort, but overall it's okay

The service was really nice and friendly, the location was very nice. However, as we know it differently, there were a few things that could have gone better: -our dog was welcome (plus point for that), but he didn't get any water. -There was no real separation between smokers and non-smokers outside, so we were constantly filled with smoke while we ate -the prices are quite high -The food was good, but we have eaten much better, especially for the price. Had dinner there yesterday. And I have to say. Wow! We really liked it! The food was really very tasty. My wife and I both had fish dishes. Portions and taste were very good. Staff was very friendly despite being busy. Price was completely okay for the quality and portion. We'd love to come back. Please stay as you are!! =)

One of our meals was totally over salted and really inedible (pasta pan). We pointed this out to the service, the first waitress made a funny face and disappeared, after another ten minutes another waitress came and we also made them aware of it. She looked irritated and disappeared. Another 15 minutes later a service person came who was able to communicate with us. She even tried the food and agreed with us. But since almost 30 minutes had already passed after the food was brought, the child had already fallen into the well. It was too late for a “replacement”. It is absolutely understandable that these days people are relying on staff from abroad, but you should tell them to raise the alarm with any German-speaking service staff if something is wrong somewhere. The next time we visit Dahme, we will limit our visit to Vörn Diek to the cocktail stand. It's been great for years! 👍🏻

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, when consumed in the restaurant, the “Kids Box” was also served in the unsightly cardboard box. You could certainly come up with a nicer and more environmentally friendly solution here. Unfortunately we weren't asked if we would like anything else to drink. The prices were okay.

As locals, we are frequent guests and really appreciate the quality of the food on offer. However, we always notice that the staff at other restaurants in Dahme and the surrounding area are much friendlier and more polite towards their guests. This is certainly not always easy, especially at peak times, but for us a friendly smile is simply part of feeling good. There is still clearly room for improvement here.

We were really disappointed this year. The food is fresh and delicious, but we felt like we were a burden to the staff. Not once eye contact, not once a smile or a kind word. We were treated coldly and disinterestedly and felt very uncomfortable.

As always, it was super friendly staff, fast service, no matter how busy and very good food. I always enjoy coming here.

Went for lunch on August 6th, 2024, which is available until 5:30 p.m. The food is cheap, tasty and sufficient, I'm talking about lunch. The staff is quick, nice, competent and very accommodating. A must if you are in Dahme

One of the worst experiences in a long time. The food... terribly bad. Matjes soften and swim in the oil. Fried potatoes totally greasy and soggy. Balsamic vinegar everywhere, even fried anchovies. The “Mediterranean grilled vegetables” swim in an oily sauce. The water bottle for €8.50 was already opened at the next table and was returned. Staff barely understands German, very difficult communication. Complaints are not responded to. Absolutely not recommended. Bad food and bad service. The opened water bottle at least suggests fraudulent intentions. For me a clear “no” to this store.

Wir waren zu zweit dort und haben sofort einen Tisch bekommen. Bedienung war freundlich und bis das Essen kam dauerte auch nicht allzu lang. Beide Gerichte waren gut mit kleinen Abstrichen. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist für die Lage sehr gut. Also wir würden wieder kommen.

When you entered the restaurant you immediately felt like a nuisance. It's a shame about the potential of the restaurant, but the service staff is not good at all. Takes very poor care of the guests and acts unprofessionally. The food itself tasted okay, but the main course was far too small and unfortunately also very dry. In my case it was roulade with boiled potatoes and red cabbage for lunch. When you drink, you don't ask how much volume you want if you order large. They simply give you a 0.7 liter for a whopping €8.50 and you're done. That was the first and last time there. Staff seemed very annoyed and overwhelmed. After we had finished eating, the plates were simply cleared away without asking whether anyone liked it.

However, if you look at the lunch menu, for example, and consider the still very good quality, this remains the first choice here in Dahme compared to the other restaurants. My recommendation is the pasta pan. However, I have to make one small point of criticism. A bottle of water for €8.50... That leaves four of us with just one.
