The ambiance was excellent. Unfortunately, there were hardly any competent servers, and drinks were either warm or didn't arrive at all. Food was also forgotten. And this was for a planned, expensive event. A bit overwhelmed...

The restaurant boasts a beautiful ambiance and a magnificent terrace directly on the lake. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and has a pleasant sense of humor. The food is excellent, delicious, and lovingly prepared. An all-round successful visit, one that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

We celebrated a wedding as part of a private gathering and were very pleased. The food was very good, and the service was equally satisfactory. The roast beef with onions and the excellent Heilbronn red wines are particularly recommended! Finally, the restaurant boasts a beautiful back area with a magnificent view over a small lake and vineyards. Highly recommended.

We went out to dinner in Trappensee on a Saturday evening, and a wedding was taking place in the adjacent room at the same time. It was quite loud at home, and the wait staff were busy at times, so we had to wait a bit longer for our drinks and to order. But the ambiance was beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. We would definitely return for a better occasion (it's just too expensive for our everyday dining). You should definitely make a reservation in advance, but it's quick and easy to do online.

Easy to review: Four of us ate here, and all four of us were very satisfied – which is rare for us ;-) Maultaschen, truffle tagliatelle, corn-fed chicken breast, roast beef with onions. The fries were also nice and crispy. We'd gladly go back (should we ever come back to HN)

Both dishes were excellently prepared, the plates were beautifully presented, and the flavors were truly amazing. We especially liked the fact that you can order additional side dishes as you wish. For starters, we had the three-way spread, which was delicious – they even offered extra bread upon request. The prices are absolutely fair, and the value for money is excellent. We were given a lovely outdoor seat, where it was pleasantly quiet, and the staff were very attentive and friendly the entire time. An all-round successful visit – we'll definitely be back!

We've had our experiences with the restaurant. We now avoid it at Easter and Christmas. Last time we visited, we made a reservation, but despite the good weather, we only got a table inside. The outside area was full, and there were at least two weddings going on at the same time. After waiting half an hour, we hadn't even received a menu; our complaint was ignored by four people at the counter at the same time. We left then and won't be coming back. We don't need to be treated like that. The shortage of skilled workers can be used as an argument for many things, but ultimately, it's the customer who pays the bill.

Our wedding at the Trappensee Restaurant was simply dreamy – from the planning to the execution, everything went perfectly! Even in the run-up to the event, we received professional, warm, and competent support. The team took plenty of time, accommodated all our requests, and made us feel like we were in the best hands. On the day itself, everything was exactly as we had dreamed it would be – if not even better. The food was an absolute highlight: From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and tasted of the highest quality. Our guests are still raving about it! The venue itself is beautiful – stylish, with a great ambiance and a special charm that's simply perfect for a wedding. Spätzle from the bag in this price range is nonsense

If you don't want to wait tables, you need to change jobs. With a consistent menu, you should know how the food is prepared; you'll be asking about allergies/intolerances... When you serve a dish, you check to see if there are any empty glasses so you can sell another drink. If you extrapolate that, the restaurant could sell a huge number of more drinks and generate revenue.

I'd come back for dinner. The service could be better. But you have to be happy that there are still places that do it. The table wasn't set for our reservation, but if that's not important, I'd definitely recommend it for dinner.

Disillusionment – ​​an evening in the Trappensee Restaurant You would think that a restaurant that boasts a picturesque waterfront location and likes to bask in the glory of its reputation would also know how to properly welcome guests. But yesterday evening showed in a very sobering way: a beautiful location alone does not necessarily make for a good restaurant experience. We were – listen and be amazed – served personally by the operator. But anyone who thinks about special attention, warmth or professionalism will be disappointed. Instead, we encountered a fake friendliness that was more like a poorly rehearsed play than genuine hospitality. While conspicuous attention was paid to the well-heeled regular customers - with demonstrative warmth and small pleasantries - we were allowed to watch as our table gradually turned into a waiting room. Over 35 minutes passed before a simple salad and a plate of pesto pasta (from a jar, mind you) found their way to us. During this time we saw other guests already enjoying their second course - clearly there is a silent hierarchy here, and those who do not consume regularly are not regularly noticed. Of course, our drinks were long gone by the time the food arrived. Reorder? No demand. Attention? In short supply. At some point we asked to be allowed to pay ourselves - and were able to experience how people still waited for a tip. 😂 Not a single word was said about the waiting time, no questions, no regrets, no “How was everything?” Apparently the assumption here is that guests accept such evenings without complaint - and at best allow themselves to be blinded by appearances. But hospitality depends on more than scenery and calculated friendliness. Anyone who thinks that a restaurant can be successful through location and name alone is wrong. The demands you place on your prices must also be reflected in the service and the way you deal with all guests. Because hospitality doesn't mean making differences - it means consistently living quality. An evening that has an impact - unfortunately in the wrong way.

We reserved a table in the alcove for a birthday party. When we got there, they said, "We have five people coming here now, there are plenty of tables left." There was no apology that reservations apparently aren't important, or anything like that. No reserved sign. At the other table, the waiter came with a menu and walked away without comment. No "what would you like to drink?" No "hello," nothing. Used to be great under the old owners, now it's just a flop.

Service was a total failure. We got the map ourselves after 20 minutes. First order was taken after over 30 minutes. The waiter didn't know anything about the types of beer. The Wiener Schnitzel came with ketchup, no sauce. On one plate there was still a “skid mark” from the cranberries that were not part of the meal. I certainly understand overwhelmed service, but when guests are shown to the table and a card is not handed out or drinks are taken at the same time. Too bad.

Spontaneously came here to eat in the beautiful weather. Nice atmosphere to be able to eat right by the lake. The food was also great. The truffle pasta was great, but I wouldn't order it again in combination with the carpaccio - the combination of hot pasta and cold carpaccio doesn't go well together in my opinion. Then it's better to order both separately. But the taste is 1a. The dessert on the seasonal menu was also a highlight, especially the pistachio ice cream.

Beautiful and yet disappointing We were there yesterday on January 11th. with over 12 people in the Trappensee Restaurant by telephone reservation, which we made in mid-November 2024, we arranged to have dinner with the entire family at 6 p.m. First of all, it looked like our reservation hadn't been made, so it took a good 15 minutes until we finally had our table complete and we could all sit down together. It has to be said that the restaurant was very busy and it was noticeable that the staff and kitchen were overwhelmed. Guests kept coming and had to wait for a seat. When our food came after a long time, the food was only slightly warm and sometimes almost cold. The only thing that was a little warmer but only bite-sized (i.e. not warm enough) were the sauces. Meat and some side dishes got cold faster before the plate was half empty. It's actually a real shame because the restaurant is really nice. But it's no use if there's too much going on and many guests go home dissatisfied. My additional sauce, which I ordered twice, is still in the kitchen. Conclusion: less is often more. The food was good but unfortunately it was really too cold. Price performance therefore only 3 stars. In the summer we were very positively surprised by the beer garden and unfortunately the restaurant yesterday didn't surprise us but disappointed us. Overall a pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious, the sauerbraten was rather expensive at €28. The quality is very good, but half or smaller portions are not possible - a tip to the restaurant management to reconsider this. The vegetarian offering is a bit poor, but here too they could offer more in this class. I think the crab as an invoice delivery person with sweets is a funny idea.

We were in the restaurant with a group of 15 people. Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to scratch. The neighboring table (also about 10 people) was often asked by a service employee if everything was okay. That didn't happen at all for us. I then ordered a beer from the lady in question when she scurried past me .It was then half poured on the counter. After about 10 minutes I pointed out to another employee that I had ordered a beer. "That wasn't ordered," he snapped at me. When I was told that I had ordered it from my colleague, it was completely poured and brought to me. The food was quite okay. My pepper steak wasn't cooked to perfection, but it was still tender and tasty. There was a lot of "food" in the fries - lots of little hard pieces. I had hoped for this.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the Trappensee restaurant, which was marked by inappropriate behavior and a feeling of racism. We were there for a spontaneous evening with friends and I went in ahead of time to politely ask for a table since we didn't have any reservations. The lady at the reception was very nice and explained to me that she could offer us a table as only two tables were occupied. When I brought my wife and friends into the restaurant, we were told by an unfriendly waiter that we were not allowed to sit at the table I had chosen because it was reserved. At this moment, however, five tables by the window were empty. Eventually we were seated at the entrance of the restaurant. At first we accepted this because we thought the tables might be reserved from 5 p.m. However, during our stay until 6:30 p.m. we observed that no one showed up at the reserved tables. Two other groups came after us and were allowed to choose the tables without further ado, even though we were sitting right at the entrance. This experience made us clearly feel that something was wrong. It was particularly disappointing that I sat with my 8-month-old child right at the entrance, where he was disturbed by passing guests. A German friend who was there with us even noticed this situation. It is shocking that we had to witness these experiences from waiters who were migrants themselves. I don't want to put myself in the role of victim, but it was clearly an unpleasant situation that was incomprehensible to me and my family. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I cannot recommend the Trappensee restaurant. I hope that management takes this issue seriously and works to treat its guests better.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was rather disappointing. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were shown to a rather unattractive spot on the edge of the restaurant. What particularly surprised us was that other guests without reservations also got better seats. In addition, the waiter gave the impression that we weren't really welcome - his body language and the whole situation seemed unfriendly and distant. The food was okay, but the service and the atmosphere unfortunately ruined our stay. We hope that the management here pays more attention to hospitality as that could greatly improve the overall experience.

I went to lunch today with four other people. We had 2x schnitzel, 1x pepper steak and 1x roulade, 1x ox cheek. 4Food was tasty, plentiful and attractively prepared. Only the ox cheeks were nothing at all. We all often eat ox cheeks and none of us want to eat them. They looked like roast beef, or maybe it was. We also communicated our displeasure to the waiter. The side dishes were good. We can't say anything negative about the service. We really liked the ambience and facilities.

We were lucky enough to be accompanied through the evening by the magical Fjona, who made our stay very pleasant with her very attentive and symphonic manner. Big praise at this point! You couldn't receive and treat your guests better. In addition, the restaurant's food is delicious and aesthetically presented. All in all, a 100% “perfect” concept. We are happy to take the long journey and visit the restaurant “Am Trappensee” again.

The food was outstanding! Veal schnitzel a little too fatty, Roast roast great! Only we were there for dinner at 12:30 p.m. and didn't receive our food until 2:20 p.m. The waiting time is clearly too long! That was a shame! The broken table doesn't fit at all and you can get injured or get your clothes caught. It does not work!

Unfortunately we didn't get any drinks or food. Sunday afternoon, shop not even half full. We sit down at a sun table on the terrace with three women as it is getting increasingly cold in the shade. After two different waiters successfully ignore us, someone deigns to inform us that we can't sit here because the tables haven't been wiped down yet. When we point out that we don't want to freeze in the shade, that we don't mind that the table isn't wiped down, that we'd like to get something upstairs but would still like to drink it there, the answer is: Not possible. I worked in the catering industry myself for several years. Good service and friendly staff are different, it's a shame. The location is beautiful. We're going somewhere else now.

Unfortunately, with a new tenant in 2024, no good food and too many little things that don't fit. Although it was newly renovated, that was about it in terms of positive aspects. If we compare the food with the Haigern, Wartberg, Hohly in Löwenstein or the market economy in Besigheim with the same price structure, the 1879 fails completely. Why? Veal schnitzel with pure intention from the chef, the side that was fried too dark, almost black, was placed on the bottom. Why? Because it's impertinent to even serve something like that. In the photo you can see from the edges what the degree of doneness is on the bottom. Arrangement on the plate like in a burger joint. 2 large pots of mayo and ketchup on the plate. The schnitzel was also not well prepared. Not sufflated. My roast was well cooked, but all the food on it was almost cold. And strangely enough, the piece of meat was cut in half(???). What are the culinary purposes of potatoes in addition to spaetzle and Maultaschen? Is the effort required for Schupfnudeln too high? The dressing on the side salad was very sour and far too mustardy (deep yellow). The coleslaw was already fermenting and had a sharp, sulphurous, sour taste. The potato salad tasted like bucket salad to me. No questions asked about your health during the meal. Then everything will definitely be returned. But the waitress probably saw it on our faces and avoided us. Drinks were brought to the table individually in glasses. Technically impossible to service. We're not at a burger chain. Where is the tray? The beer was also served in a nameless, ugly, run-of-the-mill heavy beer tankard. What am I even drinking here? No work was done on the room acoustics in the restaurant. Far too loud and uncomfortable when full. To check out, a red ceramic shellfish with cheap carnival camels and the bill is presented as a piece of paper like at a discount store. Where is a folder or something similar please? Or leave this silly thing out altogether. All in all, no goes in all respects. We are waiting for the next tenant. Until then.

First of all, the restaurant doesn't seem pompous from the outside, but that doesn't bother me. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. I also reserved this with the request to get a good table. What we got, which really bothered me at the beginning, was a table for four people on which only two were set. There was a birthday group of 20 sitting behind us, with several children jumping around and being loud the whole time. When I wanted to complain, they finally left. But first of all I would like to say that I don't really understand the way the tables are arranged, because here too you sit very close together and when you speak you have to be afraid that the person next to you will listen to you. Let's get to food. It was a very successful and very tasty meal. We enjoyed eating it. It was great, we had the truffle pasta and the Wiener schnitzel. What also bothered me here was that we had specifically ordered a spritzer and there was only 0.5 liters of juice. However, this was corrected immediately when we reported it. All in all it was a very successful evening. The food was great, the service staff were friendly, but there were mistakes and the ambience alone made me very annoyed that evening, because when I'm ready to pay over €100 for a meal and actually want to celebrate an anniversary, it's explicitly included in the reservation Please write in a quiet table and reserve it ages in advance. Then I don't want to sit next to a twenty-person birthday group, and I hope that the managing directors will understand, and there will probably be 5 children. They're running around and screaming.

The staff and atmosphere are very nice and recommended. Unfortunately you still have to improve the price performance of the food a little... We had Wienerschnitzel with fries - it was two small veal schnitzels and soggy fries that tasted a bit like used oil. The starter, on the other hand, three types of dip, is highly recommended. We spontaneously decided to pay a visit to the 1879Trappensee. After a short wait we got a table straight away. The service is very courteous and you really feel like a “king” here, true to the saying “the guest is king”. The food was outstanding! I haven't had such a good roast roast in a long time. The portions are large and the price-performance ratio is perfect. There could be more Heilbronn wines on the menu. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating.

We decided to celebrate at Restaurant Trappensee after our civil wedding and it was the best choice we could have made. Communication with Ms. Ruess was smooth and professional in advance. She actively supported us in all preparations and ensured that the entire process corresponded exactly to our ideas. On the day itself the service was simply outstanding. The staff was extremely attentive, friendly and listened to our every need. Of particular note are the delicious aperitifs, the Aperol and Lillet, as well as the wine, which we ordered by the bottle and which was stylishly served in an ice bucket at the table. The meal was an absolute delight - from starters to dessert, every course was perfectly prepared and wonderfully presented. The wedding cake we brought with us was also served without any problems, which made the evening even more special for us. The atmosphere in the restaurant is modern and stylish, which suited our special occasion perfectly. We felt completely comfortable and are more than happy with our decision to celebrate this special moment in Trappensee. A big thank you to the entire team – we will definitely be back! New family
