Disillusionment – ​​an evening in the Trappensee Restaurant You would think that a restaurant that boasts a picturesque waterfront location and likes to bask in the glory of its reputation would also know how to properly welcome guests. But yesterday evening showed in a very sobering way: a beautiful location alone does not necessarily make for a good restaurant experience. We were – listen and be amazed – served personally by the operator. But anyone who thinks about special attention, warmth or professionalism will be disappointed. Instead, we encountered a fake friendliness that was more like a poorly rehearsed play than genuine hospitality. While conspicuous attention was paid to the well-heeled regular customers - with demonstrative warmth and small pleasantries - we were allowed to watch as our table gradually turned into a waiting room. Over 35 minutes passed before a simple salad and a plate of pesto pasta (from a jar, mind you) found their way to us. During this time we saw other guests already enjoying their second course - clearly there is a silent hierarchy here, and those who do not consume regularly are not regularly noticed. Of course, our drinks were long gone by the time the food arrived. Reorder? No demand. Attention? In short supply. At some point we asked to be allowed to pay ourselves - and were able to experience how people still waited for a tip. 😂 Not a single word was said about the waiting time, no questions, no regrets, no “How was everything?” Apparently the assumption here is that guests accept such evenings without complaint - and at best allow themselves to be blinded by appearances. But hospitality depends on more than scenery and calculated friendliness. Anyone who thinks that a restaurant can be successful through location and name alone is wrong. The demands you place on your prices must also be reflected in the service and the way you deal with all guests. Because hospitality doesn't mean making differences - it means consistently living quality. An evening that has an impact - unfortunately in the wrong way.

Wir waren gestern spontan im 1879 Trappensee Restaurant und wurden sehr positiv überrascht. Tolles Ambiente, sehr guter, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service und super leckeres Essen. Wir waren begeistert und kommen bald wieder.

We reserved a table in the alcove for a birthday party. When we got there, they said, "We have five people coming here now, there are plenty of tables left." There was no apology that reservations apparently aren't important, or anything like that. No reserved sign. At the other table, the waiter came with a menu and walked away without comment. No "what would you like to drink?" No "hello," nothing. Used to be great under the old owners, now it's just a flop.

Service was a total failure. We got the map ourselves after 20 minutes. First order was taken after over 30 minutes. The waiter didn't know anything about the types of beer. The Wiener Schnitzel came with ketchup, no sauce. On one plate there was still a “skid mark” from the cranberries that were not part of the meal. I certainly understand overwhelmed service, but when guests are shown to the table and a card is not handed out or drinks are taken at the same time. Too bad.

Spontaneously came here to eat in the beautiful weather. Nice atmosphere to be able to eat right by the lake. The food was also great. The truffle pasta was great, but I wouldn't order it again in combination with the carpaccio - the combination of hot pasta and cold carpaccio doesn't go well together in my opinion. Then it's better to order both separately. But the taste is 1a. The dessert on the seasonal menu was also a highlight, especially the pistachio ice cream.

I was in Trappensee with friends and we were thrilled. Everything really fits here. Solid ambience, friendly service and food that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of taste and quality. In addition, the prices are more than fair for what is on offer. Therefore absolutely recommended.

Nothing to complain about, top cuisine and very attentive service

On Monday we were served a delicious dinner by an unbeatably cheerful and attentive service staff. Remarkably well-attended location, no sign of a lack of staff. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!!!

Beautiful and yet disappointing We were there yesterday on January 11th. with over 12 people in the Trappensee Restaurant by telephone reservation, which we made in mid-November 2024, we arranged to have dinner with the entire family at 6 p.m. First of all, it looked like our reservation hadn't been made, so it took a good 15 minutes until we finally had our table complete and we could all sit down together. It has to be said that the restaurant was very busy and it was noticeable that the staff and kitchen were overwhelmed. Guests kept coming and had to wait for a seat. When our food came after a long time, the food was only slightly warm and sometimes almost cold. The only thing that was a little warmer but only bite-sized (i.e. not warm enough) were the sauces. Meat and some side dishes got cold faster before the plate was half empty. It's actually a real shame because the restaurant is really nice. But it's no use if there's too much going on and many guests go home dissatisfied. My additional sauce, which I ordered twice, is still in the kitchen. Conclusion: less is often more. The food was good but unfortunately it was really too cold. Price performance therefore only 3 stars. In the summer we were very positively surprised by the beer garden and unfortunately the restaurant yesterday didn't surprise us but disappointed us. It was probably way too busy and stressful in my opinion. LG Michel

Overall a pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious, the sauerbraten was rather expensive at €28. The quality is very good, but half or smaller portions are not possible - a tip to the restaurant management to reconsider this. The vegetarian offering is a bit poor, but here too they could offer more in this class. I think the crab as an invoice delivery person with sweets is a funny idea.

We were in the restaurant with a group of 15 people. Unfortunately, the service wasn't up to scratch. The neighboring table (also about 10 people) was often asked by a service employee if everything was okay. That didn't happen at all for us. I then ordered a beer from the lady in question when she scurried past me .It was then half poured on the counter. After about 10 minutes I pointed out to another employee that I had ordered a beer. "That wasn't ordered," he snapped at me. When I was told that I had ordered it from my colleague, it was completely poured and brought to me. The food was quite okay. My pepper steak wasn't cooked to perfection, but it was still tender and tasty. There was a lot of "food" in the fries - lots of little hard pieces. I had hoped for this.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the Trappensee restaurant, which was marked by inappropriate behavior and a feeling of racism. We were there for a spontaneous evening with friends and I went in ahead of time to politely ask for a table since we didn't have any reservations. The lady at the reception was very nice and explained to me that she could offer us a table as only two tables were occupied. When I brought my wife and friends into the restaurant, we were told by an unfriendly waiter that we were not allowed to sit at the table I had chosen because it was reserved. At this moment, however, five tables by the window were empty. Eventually we were seated at the entrance of the restaurant. At first we accepted this because we thought the tables might be reserved from 5 p.m. However, during our stay until 6:30 p.m. we observed that no one showed up at the reserved tables. Two other groups came after us and were allowed to choose the tables without further ado, even though we were sitting right at the entrance. This experience made us clearly feel that something was wrong. It was particularly disappointing that I sat with my 8-month-old child right at the entrance, where he was disturbed by passing guests. A German friend who was there with us even noticed this situation. It is shocking that we had to witness these experiences from waiters who were migrants themselves. I don't want to put myself in the role of victim, but it was clearly an unpleasant situation that was incomprehensible to me and my family. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I cannot recommend the Trappensee restaurant. I hope that management takes this issue seriously and works to treat its guests better.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was rather disappointing. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were shown to a rather unattractive spot on the edge of the restaurant. What particularly surprised us was that other guests without reservations also got better seats. In addition, the waiter gave the impression that we weren't really welcome - his body language and the whole situation seemed unfriendly and distant. The food was okay, but the service and the atmosphere unfortunately ruined our stay. We hope that the management here pays more attention to hospitality as that could greatly improve the overall experience.

I went to lunch today with four other people. We had 2x schnitzel, 1x pepper steak and 1x roulade, 1x ox cheek. 4Food was tasty, plentiful and attractively prepared. Only the ox cheeks were nothing at all. We all often eat ox cheeks and none of us want to eat them. They looked like roast beef, or maybe it was. We also communicated our displeasure to the waiter. The side dishes were good. We can't say anything negative about the service. We really liked the ambience and facilities.

We were lucky enough to be accompanied through the evening by the magical Fjona, who made our stay very pleasant with her very attentive and symphonic manner. Big praise at this point! You couldn't receive and treat your guests better. In addition, the restaurant's food is delicious and aesthetically presented. All in all, a 100% “perfect” concept. We are happy to take the long journey and visit the restaurant “Am Trappensee” again.

The atmosphere and the staff are really great! BUT the onion roast (meat of good quality) combined with the side dishes is not enough for the hefty price. Don't skimp on spaetzle or potatoes.

The food was outstanding! Veal schnitzel a little too fatty, Roast roast great! Only we were there for dinner at 12:30 p.m. and didn't receive our food until 2:20 p.m. The waiting time is clearly too long! That was a shame! The broken table doesn't fit at all and you can get injured or get your clothes caught. It does not work!

Great place to eat awesome dishes and also traditional German dishes.

Unfortunately, with a new tenant in 2024, no good food and too many little things that don't fit. Although it was newly renovated, that was about it in terms of positive aspects. If we compare the food with the Haigern, Wartberg, Hohly in Löwenstein or the market economy in Besigheim with the same price structure, the 1879 fails completely. Why? Veal schnitzel with pure intention from the chef, the side that was fried too dark, almost black, was placed on the bottom. Why? Because it's impertinent to even serve something like that. In the photo you can see from the edges what the degree of doneness is on the bottom. Arrangement on the plate like in a burger joint. 2 large pots of mayo and ketchup on the plate. The schnitzel was also not well prepared. Not sufflated. My roast was well cooked, but all the food on it was almost cold. And strangely enough, the piece of meat was cut in half(???). What are the culinary purposes of potatoes in addition to spaetzle and Maultaschen? Is the effort required for Schupfnudeln too high? The dressing on the side salad was very sour and far too mustardy (deep yellow). The coleslaw was already fermenting and had a sharp, sulphurous, sour taste. The potato salad tasted like bucket salad to me. No questions asked about your health during the meal. Then everything will definitely be returned. But the waitress probably saw it on our faces and avoided us. Drinks were brought to the table individually in glasses. Technically impossible to service. We're not at a burger chain. Where is the tray? The beer was also served in a nameless, ugly, run-of-the-mill heavy beer tankard. What am I even drinking here? No work was done on the room acoustics in the restaurant. Far too loud and uncomfortable when full. To check out, a red ceramic shellfish with cheap carnival camels and the bill is presented as a piece of paper like at a discount store. Where is a folder or something similar please? Or leave this silly thing out altogether. All in all, no goes in all respects. We are waiting for the next tenant. Until then.

Unfortunately we didn't get any drinks or food. Sunday afternoon, shop not even half full. We sit down at a sun table on the terrace with three women as it is getting increasingly cold in the shade. After two different waiters successfully ignore us, someone deigns to inform us that we can't sit here because the tables haven't been wiped down yet. When we point out that we don't want to freeze in the shade, that we don't mind that the table isn't wiped down, that we'd like to get something upstairs but would still like to drink it there, the answer is: Not possible. I worked in the catering industry myself for several years. Good service and friendly staff are different, it's a shame. The location is beautiful. We're going somewhere else now.

First of all, the restaurant doesn't seem pompous from the outside, but that doesn't bother me. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. I also reserved this with the request to get a good table. What we got, which really bothered me at the beginning, was a table for four people on which only two were set. There was a birthday group of 20 sitting behind us, with several children jumping around and being loud the whole time. When I wanted to complain, they finally left. But first of all I would like to say that I don't really understand the way the tables are arranged, because here too you sit very close together and when you speak you have to be afraid that the person next to you will listen to you. Let's get to food. It was a very successful and very tasty meal. We enjoyed eating it. It was great, we had the truffle pasta and the Wiener schnitzel. What also bothered me here was that we had specifically ordered a spritzer and there was only 0.5 liters of juice. However, this was corrected immediately when we reported it. All in all it was a very successful evening. The food was great, the service staff were friendly, but there were mistakes and the ambience alone made me very annoyed that evening, because when I'm ready to pay over €100 for a meal and actually want to celebrate an anniversary, it's explicitly included in the reservation Please write in a quiet table and reserve it ages in advance. Then I don't want to sit next to a twenty-person birthday group, and I hope that the managing directors will understand, and there will probably be 5 children. They're running around and screaming.

The staff and atmosphere are very nice and recommended. Unfortunately you still have to improve the price performance of the food a little... We had Wienerschnitzel with fries - it was two small veal schnitzels and soggy fries that tasted a bit like used oil. The starter, on the other hand, three types of dip, is highly recommended. I can't say anything about the taste of the other dishes such as pasta and salad (not yet ;) ), it looked very vivid on the other guests' plates.

We spontaneously decided to pay a visit to the 1879Trappensee. After a short wait we got a table straight away. The service is very courteous and you really feel like a “king” here, true to the saying “the guest is king”. The food was outstanding! I haven't had such a good roast roast in a long time. The portions are large and the price-performance ratio is perfect. There could be more Heilbronn wines on the menu. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating.

We decided to celebrate at Restaurant Trappensee after our civil wedding and it was the best choice we could have made. Communication with Ms. Ruess was smooth and professional in advance. She actively supported us in all preparations and ensured that the entire process corresponded exactly to our ideas. On the day itself the service was simply outstanding. The staff was extremely attentive, friendly and listened to our every need. Of particular note are the delicious aperitifs, the Aperol and Lillet, as well as the wine, which we ordered by the bottle and which was stylishly served in an ice bucket at the table. The meal was an absolute delight - from starters to dessert, every course was perfectly prepared and wonderfully presented. The wedding cake we brought with us was also served without any problems, which made the evening even more special for us. The atmosphere in the restaurant is modern and stylish, which suited our special occasion perfectly. We felt completely comfortable and are more than happy with our decision to celebrate this special moment in Trappensee. A big thank you to the entire team – we will definitely be back! New family

The Trappensee restaurant has been run for some time by new tenants who have previously modernized it. It is now a real highlight in Heilbronn. Especially in summer, you can simply sit on the terrace with a great view of the Trappensee and the Trappenseeschlößchen. The furniture outside and inside is new and comfortable. The service is very friendly and attentive. The (predominantly German) cuisine offers high quality and reasonable prices. There are a large number of parking spaces in front of the restaurant on both sides - however, when the weather is good in summer, these are also used by visitors to the Trappenseebiergarten, which is located next door and is also highly recommended, so it becomes scarce. If necessary, you have to walk a bit, but then you can always find something.

Unfortunately for us it was a failure across the board. We knew the restaurant under its old management and were always very impressed with the quality. The lunch visit ended in frustration and anger. Unfortunately, we only received our food 1.5 hours (!!) after ordering and were able to observe how others who arrived well after us received their food earlier. The service is completely disorganized. During our stay, 3 different service staff came to us 10 times and wanted to deliver us coffee, dessert or drinks that we hadn't ordered. The menu does not indicate what brands/varieties the bottled beers are. Sanwald non-alcoholic is unfortunately one of the worst tasting varieties. Despite the fact that we pointed out several times (!!) that we had been waiting for our food for over an hour, after 1.5 hours of repeated inquiries we received a response that we had been forgotten. 2 out of 4 dishes were lukewarm or cold. With the pork schnitzel for just under 20 euros, the one-sided (!!) breading was thicker than the actual schnitzel. The fries were cooked in very old fat. Since we had a very long time, we also noticed that other tables had similar experiences. Conclusion: - disastrous and disorganized service - lukewarm or cold food on the plate - Food tasted ok, but definitely not appropriate for the prices At least they apologized several times and we received a voucher. Nevertheless, the afternoon was over for us. The atmosphere is really nice, but we cannot recommend the restaurant to our friends and acquaintances due to the poor service and the lack of value for money. If you want to be upscale, you should be able to do it or employ trained staff.

Restaurant now has a new operator. Fortunately. We were very dissatisfied here recently. Now everything is as it should be. Service very friendly. However, things got a bit mixed up but I'm sure it will. Ambiance was very nice as usual. The most important thing: The food was really very good. I would say 9 out of 10. The truffled tagliatelle made from parmesan dough was very tasty. The only thing missing here was the intense truffle taste. The pasta was wonderfully creamy from the Parmesan. Much better than just grating Parmesan over it. The fried king prawns: There was nothing to complain about. The grilled vegetables were also very good. For dessert, crème brulee: very tasty. A few more berries would be nice to counteract the sweetness. The duet of mousse au chocolat is again excellent. We will come back. Hopefully the quality remains as it is now. Or even better :-)

There was a recent change of tenant here and the restaurant has really taken off since then. The food was very tasty, the ambience by the lake has always been wonderful but now it's really nice thanks to the new furniture and decoration. The service was courteous - we would be happy to come back. Also a great place for events!

Service was a bit "shy" at the beginning. The allocation of space went quite quickly but then things got a little tougher. Not enough menus available. But OK. Orders could be placed in a reasonable amount of time. Service very friendly. Roast roast with spaetzle was very good, but unfortunately the portion was very small. The side salad is overpriced for what is served. I'm not a big eater but I actually left the table hungry here. This could have easily been prevented with a sufficient amount of side dishes and the spaetzle would not have ruined you. Parking spaces are a disaster.

Nice beer garden, unfortunately our sausage and cheeseburger took longer than pizza...Despite the hot weather, fries were only lukewarm, currywurst was cold and the sauce was inedible! Cheeseburger was ok, the size like McDonalds. Girlfriend ate salad with turkey, size was ok, unfortunately the meat was seared for the second time and was therefore hard as a rock...

The food was excellent, truffled pasta prepared in a parmesan wheel, with beef carpaccio. Delicious. Service was friendly, but it was annoying to ask repeatedly whether everything was OK and whether you would like to order anything else.

We spent a fun evening with friends on July 6th, 2024 and enjoyed the attentive service. The new owner has not only redesigned the interior, he has breathed new life into this traditional restaurant. It's wonderful how the young service team is attuned to each other and takes orders with elegance and humor and, thanks to an apparently masterfully managed kitchen, not only serves the food at the same time, but in a quality that is equally pleasing to the eye and the palate. The owner came by several times and asked about our wishes. Oh, it's so nice to finally have people with passion and the will and desire to provide perfect service in this wonderful place again. You can feel this in every fiber of the employees, this desire for great service! Word gets around that the place was completely booked! We'll be back - price and performance are more than acceptable. Chapeau – dear Trappensee gastro team, excellent work!

Great ambience in historic buildings. The terrace is awesome, located right on the lake. The food, we had everything with chanterelles, was super tasty and therefore reasonably priced. The service was friendly and helpful. There is still a little potential for improvement in the area of ​​communication with the kitchen. But we had a really great time🤩

The restaurant in one of the most beautiful places in Heilbronn also boasts a balanced selection of dishes, the culinary implementation of which can be described as really successful. Conclusion: well made and recommended - with a few small changes such as the (missing) bread, definitely worth 5 stars for this price/performance ratio.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting a well-known restaurant under new management and I loved it! The fresh breeze that the new owners brought with them could be felt in every detail. From the moment I entered the restaurant I was impressed by the welcoming and stylish ambience. There was a perfect balance between modern chic and traditional charm, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The olive trees on the terrace with the view of the lake and the Literaturhaus in the background gave you the feeling that you were not in Heilbronn, but on vacation. That's not the only reason why the two hours felt very relaxing. The food was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Every dish I tried was delicious. We were 4 adults and 2 children, with the children also ordering main courses. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the presentation was just as impressive as the taste. I would particularly like to highlight the main course: tender meat that melted in the mouth, accompanied by a sophisticated sauce that perfectly complemented the aroma. The service was also great. The staff was attentive, friendly and competent without being intrusive. They seemed to genuinely enjoy making the guests have a lovely evening, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. The new owners have brought a breath of fresh air into the well-known walls, beautifully renovated the ambience and created an impressive experience that pampers both the palate and the soul. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Went to the Trappensee Restaurant again today for a long time. After the change of tenant, the food, service and ambience have absolutely changed for the best. Outside you can sit on very comfortable and chic chairs directly by the beautiful Trappenseeschlösschennund lake. Everything inside is new, but a little too stylish for some. Very good food and friendly and courteous service. A real recommendation. I have one suggestion for improvement: Cola Zero instead of Pepsi 🫣🤭

Highly recommended! I had truffled tagliatelle made from a parmesan wheel - perfectly prepared; delicious. Furthermore, the restaurant has been renovated very stylishly. Kudos also to the service.

I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Everything was just right, the location turned out so beautiful. The service was consistently friendly and the food was a dream. Absolutely recommended!!

The restaurant opened a few weeks ago with a new owner, new ambience and menu. The menu was sufficient, the dishes were tasty and the price was okay. We recommend it and will come again :)

The Trappensee Restaurant was newly opened and we were very satisfied. 😃THE ambience was perfect, the service was courteous, polite and truly remarkable. 💯THE boss came personally and asked whether we were satisfied. 💥In response to our only criticism (because the taste of the food was excellent) that our food wasn't hot enough, the owner took this very skillfully and confidently.👏 A very good restaurateur, we look forward to further visits. 👍 My 🍄 risotto was perfect! 💯There are also very good wines available by the glass, which has become rare in the catering industry in Heilbronn.

Great - everything is right here. Were there last night. Nice modern atmosphere, maybe a bit noisy but there were also some tables occupied. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right, the dishes (asparagus cream soup/giant prawns) are modern and yet down-to-earth. The panna cotta is great! What we particularly liked was the service, very attentive and discreet and completely unpretentious. Real (still) insider tip and one of the best addresses in Heilbronn! Keep it up, we'll definitely be back soon!

Wow, that was a perfect reboot! Really very nice atmosphere, Lina & Co. with friendly service and a great César salad or asparagus with veal schnitzel. Toi-Toi-Toi for being able to maintain this level.

Unfortunately, the restaurant's website is not updated and is therefore misleading, as it is actually TEMPORARILY CLOSED!!!! So we found ourselves standing in front of closed doors and unfortunately there was no sign on site indicating the closure; However, the menu was beautifully lit... :-( Finally a young lady came out of the building and informed us that it was closing due to a change of tenant.... It's a shame that the message with the opening times from 5 p.m. was not deactivated by telephone! This way we could have saved ourselves the time and the 25 km journey! And all of this in the age of digitalization...

We were guests at the Trappensee Restaurant on March 1st, 2024. Without a lot of words, straight to the point, The portions that were served to us were reminiscent of a usual children's plate, I have to Please note that we are normal eaters, i.e. not mass destroyers. I had a schnitzel with spaetzle with mushroom cream sauce and my wife had salmon noodles, with a beer and a 0.2 liter white wine spritzer. We arrived for lunch at around 12.30 p.m. The restaurant was empty. After our order, which was taken by a not really friendly young lady, we waited 40 minutes until our food was served. My mushrooms were probably canned, the spaetzle and the sauce had no taste at all, and my wife's spritzer was stale. For what was offered including the lukewarm service (plates cleared without a word or query) a proud €47.80. We won't come back.

Christmas day at Restaurant Trappensee. Unfortunately this Christmas meal was a disaster from start to finish. It started with the table being booked for 14:00, we arrived early and ended up being let in at 14:45 having to wait on the street for around an hour. This is not a good start as the children were obviously hungry. When we got into the restaurant we where told to take ourselves to table number 507, "it's at the back of the big room on the left" said the waiter. This was where we waited for another half a hour before even making a drinks order. Also without any baby seats, and having asked the waiter he said later can you not see I'm busy/ stressed.... Eventually we managed to get baby seats from a table which was leaving but obviously these where completely unclean and had to be cleaned by ourselves. The drinks order and food order was made but then followed by 15 minute wait for drinks and half an hour wait for the starters. When the food did come it came with waiters who rushed over announced "salad", threw it down and zipped off. Super stressed staff and completely unrelaxed. Admittedly the food tasted ok but the portions where super small. This stressed run over throw food down and run off again happen for every course. The worst of it was the meat dishes arrived 15 minutes before the vegetarian dishes. By the time we had finished desert after all the waiting it was 17:25. And the next shift of people where waiting to get their tables.... Unfortunately the whole charade seemed like the restaurant manager had over booked and instead of focusing on a magical Christmas lunch and experience, focus on canteen style food and service to get through as many 50€ per head meals in one day. For that sort of money in Heilbronn you expect high quality, friendly service and top quality food. Not a function room with 6 tables of pissed off family's and a single small plastic Xmas tree in the stage. Obviously on this occasion Trappensee simply wanted the fast buck. I invite the management to make this right and explain to me what went so wrong, as in the day the staff simply did not apologize and acted as if they were temp staff with no ownership of the issues.

Absolute Christmas trap! I would like to respectfully describe our experiences on December 25th, 2023. We were initially ignored without a word by two colleagues in the waiting area. After a while we were politely asked to take off our jackets and were taken to our table (nice ambience and quiet atmosphere). A short time later we were asked for drinks by a second colleague. These were ordered, and when a third colleague's drinks were brought shortly afterwards, we received a single menu card from a fourth waiter for the entire table. The second colleague asked us to give up our choice of menu immediately after handing over the menu. When we asked for a menu, the request was denied - "there was only the Christmas menu" - whether we wanted a starter or a dessert or not, the price was €55 each Court. We really felt compelled to realize that €55 for a main course is obviously too lavish, and I don't need to explain it to you. After additional requests from various waiters (about every 4 minutes) we received the starter. The soups are tasty and well, the salad was specifically ordered without sunflower seeds, I was allowed to sort out these and also the cress with a lot of soil. Requests “everything fits” - “is everything ok” - “can there be anything else” are answered negatively to various waiters and waitresses every 2 minutes. The main course was generous and OK. When dessert finally followed, we were asked if we would like it. As already noted, this was done at a really unpleasant pace by different waiters who certainly hadn't agreed with each other. She should probably follow, we waited until a second waiter asked if we hadn't had dessert yet, we said no. A short time later the order was taken again due to an error, and our contemplative meal was now a farce. The dessert was served to us and a few minutes later a second dessert was served by another waiter, which we of course refused. Ultimately we wanted to pay. The price of €240.50 would have been justified for us if we had been satisfied with a contemplative, pleasant afternoon, but frankly speaking it is really not appropriate for what we were offered. We now tried to pay cashless with several cards. When the EC machine repeatedly canceled the transaction, the waiter didn't know what to do next. The colleague waited wordlessly for us to respond. He gave me the device, I asked where the routers were because it stopped trying to establish a connection, he didn't know what to do and couldn't help himself again. I ended up walking into the entrance area with the device, where the transaction was of course successfully completed. We put on our jackets and left the restaurant. At the last moment I happened to see our first colleague showing us the place and spoke to her objectively about what I had experienced. I asked her for names and her impression and she revealed names and agreed with our impression. We would be happy to go into more detail about our experience in a personal conversation. For your protection, I don't want to reveal the name of the waitress directly. We hoped for an opinion and remained awaiting feedback. A statement was given by telephone after repeated requests and call attempts (approx. 5 weeks later). There was no insight, only limited control and no follow-up. Never, never again!

We had a really nice evening, very nice service and the food was amazing

Called at short notice on a public holiday and reserved a table, about 30 minutes ahead of time. No problem. Service was super nice, food was super tasty and priced like in other restaurants.

WIr kamen mit großen Erwartungen zum Mittagessen im Restaurant Trappensee. Innen alles schön und modern, Empfang und Service waren freundlich. Die Bestellungen wurden schnell aufgenommen, Getränke kamen zeitnah, leider jedoch statt eines süssen Weißweinschorle ein saures, wurde aber ohne Probleme getauscht. Zu Essen gab es Zwiebelrostbraten mit sehr gut getroffenem Gargrad. Hat also sehr gut geschmeckt, wenn das Gericht auch eher lieblos angerichtet war. Wir hätten etwas mehr fürs Auge erwartet. Das in der Karte als Wiener Schnitzel bezeichnete Kalbsschnitzel war jedoch leider eine Katastrophe. Es kamen 2 Schnitzel, die nach Formfleisch oder Convenience Food aus einer Kantine erinnerten - viel zu dick weil nicht plattiert, die Panade ohne auch nur einen Hauch von Soufflieren - enttäuschend. Obwohl das Restaurant zur Mittagszeit nur mäßig besucht war, war vom Service nur eine sporadische Präsenz zu bemerken. Kein Nachfragen nach Getränkewünschen trotz schon lange leerer Gläser. Insgesamt ein enttäuschender Besuch, von uns leider keine Empfehlung.

Essen und Service Supe Rostbraten mit Zwiebeln wie Butter 👍

Nachdem das Restaurant einige Monate geschlossen war, wollten wir Anfang November ausprobieren, wie der Neustart gelungen ist. Leider hat sich nichts geändert. Der obligatorische Gruß aus der Küche konnte nicht zu Ende gegessen werden, weil unmittelbar danach schon die Vorspeise serviert wurde. Lachstarar. Allerdings war es eher ein Lachsmus mit Spiegelei als ein Tartar. Die Spaghetti aus dem Parmesanlaib wurden in einer Sahnesoße mit ein paar Parmesansplittern serviert. Einen Parmesanlaib haben die nie gesehen. Dies wurde uns auch vom Kellner bestätigt. Der Pfeffertopf enthielt ca. 5 Pfefferkörner, die Soße war versalzen und das Schweinegeschnetzelte darin sehr hart. Das Personal war aber sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant gehört aufgrund der schönen Terrasse direkt am See sicher zu den schönsten Lokalen in Heilbronn. Leider scheint es aber nicht möglich zu sein, hier endliche ein Küchen- und Serviceteam zu installieren, das gleichbleibend gute Küche anbieten kann. Immer wieder haben wir das Lokal in den vergangenen Jahren besucht. Und es gab durchaus Abende, an denen das Essen sehr gut war. Aber dann eben auch immer wieder Endtäuschungen. Mal ist der Rostbraten wunderschön zart, einen Monat später zäh. Die Lachsschnitte wurde auch schon halb roh serviert. Gerade bei dieser herausgehobenen Lage und einem verantwortlichen Profigastronom wie Herrn Carle sollte man doch erwarten können, dass hier Anspruch und Wirklichkeit nicht immer wieder so weit auseinanderliegen. Und der Neubeginn im November wäre eine gute Gelegenheit gewesen, hier auch wirklich neu zu beginnen.
