Lehners Wirtshaus Heilbronn in Heilbronn

This was a spontaneous decision to head over there for a late lunch. It was pretty full outside and there were only 2 servers so we had quite a wait before getting our orders sent to the kitchen. The food was delicious as always- however I found the portion too small this time for the price - and it wasn’t even on the special offers lunch menu. I had Wiener Schnitzel and instead of getting the usual sides of Bratkartoffel and salad - I asked for Käsespätzle- I’m glad that worked. All in all I was satisfied except for the portion size.

We wanted to stop by for a beer on the terrace today. After 20 minutes, no waiter had appeared.

I can only recommend this restaurant. Thank you.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing, not cheap but very good. The service is extremely friendly and pleasant. A reservation would be a good idea, as this place is always busy.

I'd like to particularly highlight Lorenz: He is an exceptionally attentive, professional, and yet warm waiter who made the entire visit a truly memorable experience. His friendly manner and perfect sense for guests make you feel completely at ease and well looked after. The wonderful ambiance harmoniously rounds off the whole experience and makes the stay unforgettable.

The food and drinks are great, but nothing beats the service. Lorenz is the best: relaxed, casual, and professional at the same time. Always there, especially when Lorenz is working!

Completely overpriced. The prices of the food don't even begin to reflect the quantity and quality. Onion roast beef isn't worth €35 by a long shot!

If you don't mind a rat running around under the table, you've come to the right place. We pointed it out to the waiter, who said, "Oh, they always come when it gets dark. If this is known, then you should combat it." The food was okay...the pork roast was very dry, the gravy tasteless. The service was super nice. ADDITION to Lehner's response. 1. There were five of us, and we're perfectly capable of telling a mouse from a rat. 2. Ask the waiter who worked on August 7th; not only we, but also two men from the neighboring table asked him about it. 3. I won't let myself be made out to be a liar.

Oven-fresh roast pork was served lukewarm. And dry, too. The coleslaw was inedible. Probably from the day before. The servers were nice, but they never knew which table to serve the food to.

Expensive isn't always good. The food was bland and the service mediocre.

I like going there but everything just takes forever :)

Highly recommended! Friendly service, good food, and lovely outdoor seating – ideal for relaxing. The value for money is absolutely spot on. The highlight was the "Casino" cocktail – a creative idea, superbly executed! We'd love to go again! It was really nice, except for the waitress's mispronounced name 😂

Well, it was very crowded, and as tourists, we thought it would be delicious. But... the fries were cold, the pork roast was dry, and we felt like we were being mass-produced. Our service, however, was superb, very friendly.

Plenty of space and centrally located, yet close to nature, by the river. Traditional cuisine as well as new cuisine. There was something for everyone.

The thing is... this place used to be cool, and I actually used to enjoy going there, but the food keeps getting worse... even though we were the only customers at times, the lady was more concerned with lighting candles than at least taking a drink order... Luckily, there are other places.

A quick lunch with a view of the water – uncomplicated, friendly, and well-organized. The riverside terrace offers the kind of peace and quiet you rarely find in everyday life.

Anyway, I can recommend this place, costs a little bit more, but it's worth it

Actually, it's a great location. Very large, second floor, and with a garden—so a lot of work for the waiters. We had a reservation. We stood around in the entrance area for a while, unnoticed. A member of staff asked us to come with them and asked the colleague who was apparently assigning tables. She pulled a face and complained to her colleague that he should have made us wait up front. We ordered two main courses, two side salads, and two drinks. The salad, main course, and a drink arrived at the same time. The second drink didn't arrive until the food was almost finished. When I mentioned that I would have liked my drink before or with my meal, they said the bar was busy. Since we had a direct view of the bar, that clearly wasn't true. It was busy, yes. But I don't understand overloaded to mean anything else. My only possible conclusion: zero tip and no return.

Wir waren hier als Gruppe mit zehn Personen, wurden freundlich bedient, bekamen unsere Hauptspeisen zeitgleich, allen hat es geschmeckt. Der Getränkeservice war sehr aufmerksam. Preislich war es (noch) okay.

This nice restaurant is located right in the city center. The service was very friendly and prompt. The wheat beer is delicious, and the pork knuckle and burger are very tasty.

The service was very good, the waitresses very friendly and prompt. That's why it gets two stars. The food, however, left a lot to be desired, especially the Lehner's Bowl: a few lettuce leaves with very little dressing, some beets, a little dried-out "fresh" red cabbage with no dressing, four or five falafel balls that had been in the fryer too long, and fig chutney that tasted like applesauce. €17 for that is just too much. It's neither filling nor enjoyable. We won't be going back there anytime soon, even though the atmosphere is nice, both inside and out.

We were there with a large group. The service was very good, and everyone at our table received their food at the same time. A top-notch logistical service. The taste was also very good. It's a very good restaurant. High praise.

Great service and delicious food.

I know Lehners from Karlsruhe. Since I'm in Heilbronn for work and passed by the local Lehners, I immediately wanted to go in. I had a light Dinkelacker beer in a stein to drink - excellent. The food, unfortunately, wasn't that great. The roast pork was quite dry, the crust tasted a bit burnt, and the supposedly dark beer sauce wasn't really there. It was OK - but I wouldn't go there specifically for the food. The service, however, was excellent. The young woman was very friendly, quick, and courteous, but not at all pushy. I would definitely come back for the service! It was very pleasant outside in the beer garden. Hardly any street noise, well-defined. A little break for adults, children, groups, or alone.

Food was good and big portions service also even if it was crowded but one thing made me so angry 😤 we have paid 120eur for diner asked for tap water the ober said we have to pay unbelievable to hear …. So greedy … you should be ashamed of that

Delicious food, upscale, great service, very friendly.

The food was delicious, the service and location were otherwise good. I got a deduction for the poor error management. I mentioned twice to two different waitresses that part of the food was inedible and spoiled (beetroot). The rest of the plate was delicious. I asked for feedback twice, and nothing happened. In case anyone is wondering, why should I throw away an entire plate when only a clearly defined part is inedible? I don't do that at home either. I was hungry, and I can't stand food waste.

My son studies in Heilbronn and this is my favorite restaurant every time I visit him. Good armosphere and food.

A very nice restaurant with a beer garden just a few meters from the Neckar River and the outdoor promenade. Plenty of space inside, even for larger groups. A good selection of food and drinks.

Poor service. In my opinion, the waitress was overwhelmed, even though not all the tables were occupied. We had trouble placing an order. The food was good. Unfortunately, the espresso at the end was only lukewarm when it was served.

Super delicious food. Super kid-friendly with a large and nice play area. We were seated right next to it with the kids. The play area is also set up so that other guests aren't disturbed. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and quick. We'd be happy to return.

Actually a cool place. But cocktails to go in 300ml cups, half filled with ice, for €12... I don't know.

Unfortunately disappointing: For four very tall people, a low, narrow table right next to the outside door. A strong draft blew every time the door opened. I had a so-called baked potato. Unfortunately, a total disappointment: floury, uncut quark and a salad with no dressing. The lettuce leaves were barely chopped. Unfortunately, the wine didn't match the description on the menu in any way we could see. It was also quite loud. Overall, unfortunately, disappointing.

I asked a question via Instagram, and even though it was outside of opening hours, I received a response within 10 minutes. Two hours later, we were already sitting in the restaurant! Now that's what I call real service! The food was excellent, and the service was super friendly. The food, including the appetizers, arrived within 15 minutes. The only minor disappointment was the coleslaw, which tasted a bit bland, but this was more than compensated for by the excellent service. The location is also a highlight. We'd definitely come back!

Located on the Neckar River, nice ambiance, excellent service! The food, roast beef (tough, gristly, and dry) with grilled vegetables (some kohlrabi, two slices of bell pepper, and a spear of green asparagus) and fried potatoes (half a potato), was borderline, and the price wasn't reasonable.

We were there as a large group of 25 people. The staff was very friendly and, what's not a given these days, experienced and professional 👌👍, something I've rarely experienced in recent years. The food was excellent, and despite the large group, everyone received their orders almost simultaneously. The terrace was great, similar to a beer garden. Many thanks again to the fantastic service crew.

A huge pork shank... well cooked, but obviously pre-cooked... youthful atmosphere where you can also have an aperitif... friendly and kind staff...

Everyone here really conveyed what it means to be a host: delicious food, a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, pleasant and welcoming conversations... and the feeling of not just being one of many guests... It's a shame you're not just around the corner... I'll definitely drive to Heilbronn one or two times in the future just to enjoy a really delicious meal at Lehner's. Thank you! The food and ambiance are great. However, the service was a bit overwhelmed or simply poorly organized.

A truly wonderful restaurant! We had a wonderful evening at Lehners. The food was incredibly delicious! A huge compliment goes to Diana! She was super friendly, attentive, and looked after us with a smile the entire evening. Great food, cold beer, and a fantastic atmosphere – what more could you want?

The waiter, Ari, was a pleasant and accommodating host. The Höpfner Kräuser beer was delicious and perfect for a sunny day. And the specials exceeded my and my colleagues' expectations. We'd be happy to return :)

We went for dinner with a group. Everything was delicious, the service was prompt and very friendly... The only thing was that the temperature upstairs could have been a bit cooler, but it was later adjusted. Thank you for the friendly service!

The pork knuckle is highly recommended. However, you'd have to be really hungry to finish it 😉. The meat came off the bone easily and was juicy throughout. The crust was also fantastic. The dumplings and sauce were also delicious. Service was also excellent. If we're ever in Heilbronn again, we'll be back.

This is my second time in Heilbronn and I've eaten here twice. The value for money is good, the setting is beautiful by the river, the staff is friendly, and the food was delicious both times. 5 out of 5 I'd love to come back.

We were there on Saturday evening with 11 people and had made a reservation online. We had a nice place on the upper floor. The service was very friendly, the food came quickly. I have to admire the wait staff who have to lug the food and drinks upstairs. It was a very nice evening, even though the whole place was full.

Third time at Lehner's Wirtshaus in Heilbronn and had a fantastic experience! The traditional German plates were delicious, and the beer selection was impressive. Although it was a bit noisy, the friendly atmosphere and excellent service made up for it. The staff were attentive and seemed genuinely happy to see us enjoying our meals. The perfect spot for a casual outing with friends or colleagues, thanks to its lively bar and scenic riverside terrace. Highly recommend ed – I'll definitely be back!

I don't understand the reviews. Firstly, the conditions were not qualified, you had to address them yourself, they didn't notice you at all. On the other hand: who mixes these drinks? I've never had such a bad cocktail😅 I hope that was day dependent.

Excelent food, service could be improved a bit

After two years, I finally found delicious and authentic German pork knuckles, and they were served very quickly.

Were there for dinner with children. A nice restaurant, clean, nice, attentive, friendly service. Food also came very quickly. Unfortunately, the food was delicious but only lukewarm when it arrived. One point deducted for that. The best part was definitely the play corner for children, our little one had so much fun. Others can take a look at that. Another point of criticism, changing table only in the women's toilet. Either one for both or neutral. It will be very difficult for a man alone with a child. ;)

Perfect! We were at “Lehners” with former colleagues from the Heilbronn Theater and stayed for about 5 hours. That says it all. Thank you very much and see you soon…

The food and the homemade lemonade were excellent, the service friendly and attentive. Plus very short waiting times. We stayed here twice during a family trip. Absolutely recommended, especially for families because of the large play area.

The service was very accommodating. We always asked if we needed anything else, but never in an intrusive way! I would like to praise the kitchen. You're doing a really great job!

Food is awesome, but no ventilation and when you leave it it's like you were in the kitchen.

Very pleasant atmosphere, delicious food and good beer. There are quite a few vegan options, which is great.
