Restaurant Toscana in Mainz

A great place for a cheeky Kebab, salad or grilled meats. A stones throw from the train station.

Food is usually good, but have never seen a worse McDrive. Even if there's nothing going on, you wait until you can order. Even if there is no car behind you, you are always asked to drive further (around the building, not a few meters further in front) and then wait there for your order. By the time one of the mostly friendly employees ran the half marathon to the car, you would have already eaten at the nearest McDonalds.

The restaurant left me with an ambivalent impression. First of all, I have to say that it was far too cold inside the restaurant. This detracted from the entire dining experience and made me feel uncomfortable. It's a shame that management didn't have this important component under control. Furthermore, I was also disappointed with the taste of the food. The dishes I ordered didn't impress me. They were bland and lacked care in preparation. The quality of the ingredients left a lot to be desired and overall the food wasn't worth the money I paid for it. It is unfortunate that my experience at this restaurant was so disappointing. I hope that management addresses the issues and makes improvements so that future guests can have a more pleasant time there.

Unfortunately it's closing. Very good food, corresponding price level. Service was very good, nice, friendly and competent. Ambience okay, it's a matter of taste.
