Restaurant Thessaloniki in Marburg

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch today. We chose this restaurant based on the good reviews. We weren't disappointed. It was top-notch! The value for money is excellent. We'll definitely be back. :)

The food was very good. Very friendly. Nice and comfortable.

Two of us came for dinner, and everything was excellent. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. They offered us salad between courses, and I loved that touch. I would definitely come back.

Finding good Greek restaurants is becoming increasingly difficult. Admittedly, we've known this restaurant for decades, but what we recently mentioned is absolutely worth a review. After swimming, three of us wanted to have something to eat. Although the restaurant seemed completely full, after a brief hesitation, we finally got a table that was reserved an hour and a half later. That was enough, and we were allowed in. Not only was the attentive service impressive, but the food was just as we'd come to expect: hot dishes, well-seasoned, and not too heavy on the stomach. This practically begs for a repeat.

I was skeptical at first...because the Greek restaurants in the area weren't that good, but my wife said it was great. And she was right. The service was very friendly and polite. We ordered the platter for two people, and what can I tell you, it was simply amazing. Even the salad is incredibly delicious, and that's really awesome feta :-) The platter came on a heated plate, and all the meats were cooked to perfection! 46 euros for such a great platter for two people, too cheap in my opinion. Pictures speak louder than words (I was too greedy with the platter, hence the leftovers). Taking it home is no problem, and they don't just throw it in a bin, they sort it! Definitely worth a look. 8 out of 5 stars :-)

Nice, family-run Greek restaurant. Traditional classic Greek dishes without any exotic experiments, with good service. Very nice, spacious outdoor area.

Highly recommended. Very friendly staff, generous portions, incredibly delicious, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Even our "specific request" regarding an intolerance was met with great care. And it was taken care of with great care. We were completely satisfied and would gladly return anytime.

I'm currently sitting in the beer garden in beautiful weather. The food (gyros) was great, the fries delicious. Everything was quick, and the service was very friendly and attentive. I'm already giving it five stars and hope the cappuccino doesn't say otherwise—but it looks good at the next table :)

We had a nice meal in the beer garden. The value for money was good. Although the souvlaki skewers were a bit small compared to the various grilled dishes. The fries were okay, but the side salad was a bit uninspired. The service was attentive, but at times a bit overwhelmed when serving drinks from trays. Overall, a nice evening, we'd go back. But where was the ouzo? One of the few Greek restaurants that doesn't serve it as a welcome drink...

Small restaurant, good food, very nice service. We didn't have to wait long and the food was tasty. The portions are normal and sufficient and the price is still fair.

Spontaneously went to this restaurant in the evening. It is located almost directly on the Lahntal cycle path and offers cyclists a good place to stop and there is a large beer garden. The menu isn't too crowded, but there are Greek classics. Service was quick despite the room being quite full. The food (Grilled Artemis plate) was very tasty and the value for money was definitely right. Gladly again!

So I've eaten a lot of Greek food but it sucks. Souvlaki is mixed meat full of knobs and fat. The red rice just has tomato sauce on it, the tzatziki just doesn't taste like garlic. The schnitzel is yucky deep fryer schnitzel with thin meat but 5 times as thick breadcrumbs. The champion cream sauce is fantastic. The price for this fraß is 1000% overpriced. People prefer to go to Stadtallendorf for a Greek meal. You get really good food for your money there. So never again south station

A great family business, very friendly and clean, in summer with a beautiful terrace and alternating barbecue offers! We think it's great!

We had a delicious meal here, everything was fresh and the fries were at a good temperature. The service was super friendly and attentive. We were there around 1:30 p.m., the food came quickly, the portions were right. There was a delicious soup beforehand, which was also delicious. Parking was possible in front of the house, we paid with a credit card. We can fully recommend it and would go there again if we are in the area.

Die Bedienung war super sympathisch und freundlich.Das Fladenbrot ,die Tomatensuppe und das Tsatsikit,also Vorspeise,war wirklich sehr ,sehr lecker und heiss. Die Hauptspeise,also Apollo Teller,Gyros(nö)Suvlaki(sehr klein ,ok)Bifteki(trocken,nichts besonderes) Schweinelende(sehr lecker)die Pommes waren ok. 17 Euro dafür,wenn es heiss ist,ist ok,es war nämlich bloß lauwarm. Wollte ein Galaktobureko,gabs leider nicht. Meine Tochter hatte Eis. Desweiteren,war das Ambiente ok, hätte mir ein"griechisches" Ambiente gewünscht und es haben und ganz kleine schwarze Fliegen geärgert(müsste man handeln) Also wir gehen nochmal,probieren den Fisch und hoffentlich selbst gemachtes Balkava. Unfortunately, my visit to this Greek restaurant was a disappointment. The portions were way too small, so I was still hungry after eating. The meat was tough and hard to chew which really ruined the taste. It was also very loud and cramped, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. The feeling of dining in a real Greek restaurant didn't come up either - neither the atmosphere nor the food could meet this expectation. Despite friendly service, the overall experience was not convincing. For the price you would expect a lot more - I will not visit this restaurant again.

It was like a short vacation in Greece. After a long drive, I randomly and spontaneously came to this authentic, family-run restaurant at 9:30 p.m. Delicious, freshly prepared food, incredibly attentive staff. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be heading to Thessaloniki.

The food tasted very good and the service was nice and accommodating. The person sitting next to me had a meal that could have been a little more sumptuous for the price. A mountain full of rice and only two small pieces of chicken breast was a bit pitiful, but the taste was really good!

Pleasant Greek restaurant with a traditional menu, easy to reach on foot and by public transport, the outside lighting is very noisy due to the motorway.

Really good quality food. Even after several visits, it's always fun and exciting to come back here again. Service friendly, knows the food, helps with the selection. Is everything perfect? No, but when it comes to feeling good in the overall package, it doesn't matter as long as the good food and service quality are in good proportion. Therefore full marks.

Starter and main course super tasty. Staff was a bit inattentive when it came to re-ordering drinks. However, no ouzo on the house after the meal - that should be part of it!

Unfortunately, I can't understand the good reviews at all. We had to throw away half of it because it really didn't taste good at all. The sauce with the rice still comes up after hours (it tastes really terrible), the meat wasn't cooked through, and minced meat doesn't work for me at all. In general the meat didn't taste like anything. There is one star for the coleslaw. Shame about the money.

Wir haben uns das Essen zum mitnehmen bestellt. Griechisches Essen kennen wir aus der Kindheit vom griechischen Nachbarn der ein Restaurant hatte. Die Preise sahen mit 16€ für Kalamari und 14€ für „Grillteller“ angemessen aus. Dazu Pita Brot und tomatenreis statt Pommes zur Grillplatte. Vor Ort wurde griechisch gesprochen, wir haben uns also schon aufs Essen gefreut. 10 Minuten Heimfahrt, Packung auf - große Enttäuschung: Das Brot war Brocken hart auf der Unterseite. Der Grillteller hatte von jeder angegebenen fleischart nur 1 lächerliches bisschen (etwas Gyros das kaum gewürzt war, ein einzelner kleiner Spiess mit etwas Fleisch und ein Filet nicht Gräser als eine kleine Hand), dazu weißer Reis mit einem Klecks tomatenpampe drauf. Keines der Gerichte hat viele Gewürze gesehen, Knoblauch haben wir vergeblich gesucht. Kalamari waren 10 traurige dünne eingehen in sehr bleicher Panade und hat nach nichts geschmeckt aber gerochen dass wir im Auto ein Fenster aufgemacht haben. Die Pommes latsch und nicht ganz durch (innen matschig mehlig wie billige ofenpommes). Der Salat dazu war extrem sauer und die „Knoblauchsoße“ hat nur nach Essig gerochen und sah mehr nach vinegrette aus - den Geschmackstest haben wir uns gespart. Alles zusammen für 37€ war eine teure Enttäuschung und schlecht investiert. Ich weiß nicht was der Vergleichswert anderer Nutzer ist, aber wir fanden das Restaurant weder günstig noch lecker. Den Stern gibt es für den Service, der sehr professionell war, auch wenn das Essen 10 Minuten später fertig war als zugesagt (bei leerem Restaurant).

New staff, disorganized. We got a table in the middle of the door, table much too small. It pulled, it doesn't work at all. We asked for another seat, then we were told that when we made the reservation by phone I was told that we would get a table at the door. That's not true, that wasn't said!!! Other guests were also dissatisfied with their table selection. This table is so small that it's very uncomfortable to sit on. Very disappointing! Unfortunately only new staff, who tried hard, but were unfortunately overwhelmed. Unfortunately we don't know that. Food as always very good.

Irgendwie kam einem der Tisch gegenüber den Stühlen recht niedrig vor. Salatteller war ok , aber das Fleisch war trocken und Souflaki-Spieße im Verhältnis klein. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war letztlich ok

Das Lokal war voll, was ja eigentlich für gute Qualität sprechen sollte, jedoch war die Kalamaris unterirdisch schlecht, Qualität 1 wobei die Tiefkühltintenfische aus der Tiefkühltheke im Supermarkt eine 8 von 10 haben. Zaziki schmeckt nicht im Entferntesten nach Knoblauch!? Beilagensalat: das wahr wohl nichts. Gefülltes Bifteki war gut. Leider kann man diese Lokal nicht mehr weiterempfehlen. Für das Geld 40€ kann man überall zu zweit gut Essen gehen.

Immer ein MUSS, wenn ich in Marburg bin. Ich liebe das Essen und die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Viele Grüsse aus der Schweiz 🇨🇭

An sich ein echt schönes griechisches Restaurant. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und haben an sich einen top Service abgeliefert. Essen war gut und Schnaps + Wein auch. Sollten wir wieder nach Marburg kommen würden wir jederzeit wieder dorthin gehen😊

Schönes griechisches Restaurant, sehr nette Gastgeber mit guten griechischen Gerichten. Komme immer gerne wieder.

Service ist freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist auch gut. Es gibt sogar einen Biergarten zum draußen sitzen, halt direkt an der Straße zum Südbahnhof, erträgliche Lärmbelästigung.

Super nette Ladys, die uns freundlich begrüßt haben. Hatten Vorspeise und Hauptspeise. Sehr gute Qualität, Fleisch auf den Punkt genau. Schön saftig. Menge gut 👍, Preise genauso. TIP: den Flaschenwein statt Haustrunk-Wein bestellen. Ist um 2 Klassen besser.

Pluspunkt: die Bedienung ist wirklich sehr nett. Minuspunkte: der Wein, der nach Essig schmeckt und das Essen, das mich leider an das erinnert, was ich mir so in meiner Studi- Bude früher zusammen „gekocht“habe. Der vegetarische Auflauf bestand leider aus gestorbenem Gemüse (ich kann mir sogar vorstellen, dass die grünen Bohnen aus der Dose kamen, aber das weiß ich nicht sicher, es war jedenfalls nichts mehr knackig). Das Fladenbrot war leider auch nicht nur einmal oder viel zu lange im Ofen. Und das Pfeffergyros hätte den Namen Sahnesoße verdient. Die Pommes waren weniger als mäßig. Ich kann das leider nicht empfehlen.

Essen OK Bedienung freundlich. Ich wollte mit 200€ Schein bezahlen den wollten die nicht. Andere Gäste haben mir dann Geld gewechselt. Was soll der blödsinn? Bude war voll Wechselgeld haben die gehabt. Daher Service nur ein Stern.

Alles bestens. Das Essen war super, das Personal sehr freundlich u aufmerksam, mir hat es sehr gefallen. Da es zum Eingang einige Stufen gibt, kann man seitlich über einen Steg auch mit dem Rollstuhl das Lokal erreichen.

Wir waren am Freitag zu viert dort. Wir hatten nicht reserviert und wurden trotz vollem Laden sehr herzlich begrüßt und nach kurzer Wartezeit, die wir gemeinsam an der Biertheke verbracht haben, zu einem frei gewordenen Tisch gebeten. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Zusätzlich gab es Lamm vom Holzkohlengrill. Anscheinend gibt es das jedes Wochenende im Sommer. Ein echtes Highlight in Marburg. Wir werden definitv wiederkommen.

Sehr leckeres Essen!! Gyros Teller und Zeus Teller … ein Genuss. Sehr netter Service und schöner Biergarten, wenn auch etwas laut, da die Autobahn und Züge direkt daneben liegen. Trotzdem kommen wir sehr gern wieder!

Der Mittagstisch war mäßig. Es gab zwar eine Vorsuppe aber das Hauptessen war sehr wenig und das für 12€. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier leider nicht.

Das Thessaloniki gibt es am Südbahnhof schon seit ich denken kann. Dies ist jedoch leider keine Qualitätsaussage! Meine Bewertung in 2023: Essen: 2 Sterne, Service: 4. War ok, mehr nicht. Sehr leckeres Essen. Die Bedienung auch sehr nett und sehr zuvorkommend trotz das sehr viel los war . Vom Ambiente sehr gut. Draußen der Bereich für Kinder ebenfalls geeignet da es ein Schaukelgerüst gab.

Nettes Lokal, wirkt sehr ansprechend. Nur was das Essen leider nichts. Das Gyros war extrem trocken, die dazu gereichten Pommes allenfalls durchschnittlich. Würde nicht nochmal hingehen.

War am Abend dort und freute mich auf griechisches Essen . Erstaunt war ich als die Karte kam , alle Speisen wurden mit Pommes angeboten , habe dann nach Reis gefragt und der Kellner meinte "Ja natürlich , möchten sie Naturreis oder Tomatenreis ?" ich entschied mich für Tomate . Es kam dann Naturrreis was ich bemängelte , der Kellner darauf "Kein Problem " , er ließ den Teller stehen und kam mit einem Schälchen Tomatensoße zurück ? Ich "bastelte" mir dann meinen "Tomatenreis" und fing an zu essen . Das Ganze war , sagen wir mal geschmacksneutral , wenig bis gar nicht gewürzt . Keine Spur von den guten griechischen Gewürzen die Gyros sehr grob geschnitten und zäh Da half auch Salz & Pfeffer vom Tisch nicht mehr Der Salat hatte auch nichts von einem griechischen Salt , ein wenig Eisbergsalat , eine Scheibe Gurke und ein Schnitz Tomate , das Ganze mit einer Fertigsoße . Habe in der Karte gelesen daß das Restaurant in dritter Generation dieser Familie geführt wird , denke nun einfach mal die sind zu lange in Deutschland und wissen rein gar nichts mehr von griechischer Küche Personal freundlich aber überfordert

Wenn man einfach Lust auf ein Bier nach Feierabend hat und dazu eine Kleinigkeit essen will, ist das Thessaloniki eine okaye Adresse, insbesondere im Biergarten, wenn einen der nahe Busbahnhof nicht stört. Aber zum Essen ist es keine Empfehlung. Matschig, wässrige Salzkartoffeln werden einem als Ofenkartoffeln untergejubelt, das Fleisch und auch der Fisch waren totgebraten und das zum Tstatsiki gereichte Brot war vermutlich vom Vortag aufgebacken, es ist beim Brechen in der Hand zerbröselt so trocken war es. Echt schade, da wäre eigentlich Potential.
