I've eaten here several times. I'm always delighted by the friendly service and the delicious food. Definitely recommended.

While visiting Marburg today, we found ourselves wandering through the charming old town on a quiet Sunday. Since many shops and restaurants were closed, we were pleasantly surprised to come across this cozy little Greek restaurant that was open for lunch. From the outside, it didn’t look very large, but as soon as we stepped in, we were welcomed warmly by the staff and led to a comfortable table by the window. The atmosphere was inviting, with soft music and a relaxed, family-run feeling. For our main dishes, we ordered the grilled lamb chops and the seafood platter, accompanied by a cold beer and a cup of hot apple wine—perfect for the chilly afternoon. The lamb chops were tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned with herbs, giving off a delicious aroma. The seafood platter was also excellent, featuring a generous portion of fish, calamari, and shrimp, served with salad and a choice of rice or fries. Everything tasted fresh and was nicely presented. We left feeling full and satisfied. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Marburg.

Mega shop, very very good food, very nice waiters definitely worth a visit

Had the gyro plate! The fries were very salty and the meat was quite tender. The tzatziki was okay. The side salad was served on the plate and not on a separate side plate. The small customer area gets very busy when there are lots of people. Service is friendly and polite.

I don't understand how this restaurant has a nearly 5⭐️-star rating. The vegetarian plate had half a grilled bell pepper (the burnt skin wasn't completely removed), the feta cheese was burnt, the meat plate was a tiny gyro portion, the bifteki and pork salmon were equally small, the meat was very dry, and the feta cheese was burnt. And all this at the prices charged here. A zero-⭐️-star rating for us!

We were there for the third time today and are always blown away – super delicious food and courteous, attentive service! Even changes or repeat orders are no problem. Dishes are served promptly. A definite recommendation for Greek cuisine.

Wow! The plate was a true masterpiece 😋 The meat was perfectly seasoned and grilled, the potatoes crispy and fresh, and the corn and carrot salad was light and refreshing. About a year or two ago, it was the best gyro in Marburg. We ate there quite often. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Tough and much too large pieces of meat have nothing to do with gyro meat from a spit. Too bad, we won't be coming back.

We ate at the Athena Restaurant with another family and we really enjoyed it. I had the Olympic plate and the byfteki with cheese. I have to say, every type of meat was very good, whether it was the gyro, the souvlaki, or the byfteki! The fries were very good and tasty, and the salad was super good and deliciously seasoned! The service was very friendly and they kept asking if everything was okay. The tables outside were immediately rearranged to suit our requests. All in all, a very good restaurant with very good and friendly staff! Definitely recommended!

We've had a very good meal here three times now and would love to come back

The food and service are very good here. We especially enjoyed the sharing platter of starters - in fact, two of these would have been enough to feed our party of three. Main course were also tasty, with a heavy emphasis on grilled meats. It’s cash only, so I had to dash across to the ATM across the street at the end of the meal. They are obviously used to this!

The starter was good, the bifteki was very rubbery and the filling was definitely not feta. Tzaziki was very neutral in taste. Price-performance absolutely unsuitable! The service was attentive but friendly. Turkish music was playing loudly from the speakers, which quickly destroyed the initial Greek impression. It was worth a try, I won't be coming back.

Waiters were attentive and very friendly. Unfortunately the food was absolutely inedible. Bifteki was mediocre at best. Meat felt like it was made of rubber and the cheese was tasteless. Garnished with rocket, which has seen better days. And for me personally the price is too high for this performance. No card payment possible <- this does not serve as a criticism for your information ;) Not a second time for me!

The atmosphere is authentic, the food is fantastic, and the service is friendly and professional. What more could one ask for? Oh, and they offer a complimentary shot of Ouzo after every meal. A perfect dining experience!

Well, everything on one plate, everything was on top of each other, Athena plates. It wasn't bad if they were billed incorrectly, but turning it into a discussion wasn't great. 2 stars because I had fun with those I met, otherwise 1 star.

The restaurant is small but cozy. The service is nice and attentive. I had a mix grill plate. The meat was tasty but in my opinion not enough for the price. The salad was delicious and there were plenty of fries on it. However, I have never experienced in a Greek restaurant that you have to pay extra for the tzatziki. I have to say 25 euros for a mix grill plate with that much meat on it is too expensive. However, I have to point it out again, everything tasted delicious.

We didn't find the food tasty, the typical Greek was totally missing, so we miss Alex from the locomotive a lot, you could at least watch the gyros skewer cooking yourself, the one in the Athena was rather poor pan gyros, a shame and the price - I didn't find the performance ratio to be commensurate either. And when the door opened it was very cold, so a curtain might help.

The three of us arrived at Athena early. I'm now a cold plate appetizer specialist. So ordered one for all of us. Normally I'm full afterward. But when we asked how many pita breads we wanted, I was a little surprised. When the record came I thought - wow, really clear. A large portion of salad - who wants something like that on a Greek starter plate. Above all, I want a good portion with various dips with taramas, eggplant, tzatziki, etc. I was really disappointed and then it was the most expensive so far at €18. I don't even want to talk about the €11 for pepperoni. I still give it 4 stars because the meat portions were quite large and I was fed up with the masses of fries.

During our vacation we spontaneously went to eat in the locality. We were warmly welcomed and given a place without a reservation. We often go out for Greek food, but we've never had it so delicious. The restaurant is not big, but it is quaint. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. Before paying there was an ouzo from the house (a rare find). Unfortunately I can't post photos here.

When we wanted to reserve a table for two people by phone at very short notice for a Saturday evening, the response was friendly. In the restaurant - it's very small & the toilets are tiny! - When we arrived, we were shown to a table in the aisle, very close to the door, so we quickly felt the draft and cold. When we asked, we were politely but consistently turned away: all other tables were reserved. Then a couple at a table for two stood up, so we asked again, unfortunately our request was rejected again. It was not explained to us whether this table had been specifically reserved and in our opinion an exchange would not have been a problem. A second service person cleaned the other table & when we asked again, it suddenly worked?! It was still unclear to us how this could be explained. As a vegetarian, the food was unfortunately a disappointment for me: the starter of fried peppers I ordered was incomprehensibly poured with a large amount of balsamic vinegar. Why?? It didn't fit the dish, nor is this ingredient typical of Greek cuisine... completely unnecessary and unpleasant in taste. My main course also turned out to be a failure, as the grilled peppers offered were grilled (as always), but neither fresh nor tasty, as they were sour (!) pickled. Here the chef undoubtedly used cheap pickled peppers - a clear no-go for me!! And in the end, the 'orientation towards savings' was confirmed once again, as the invoice was presented to us incorrectly. I ordered my dish without tzatziki and still had to pay 2 euros more than described on the menu, while my partner was charged tzatziki - even though it was part of the dish. The starter - just grilled pepperoni with garlic - was cheekily charged at an unheard of 11 euros! I haven't experienced such a rip-off - I can't call it anything else - for a long time! I cannot recommend this restaurant with such brash management!

I am very surprised by the good reviews. We had dinner there last night and each ordered a salad with chicken and one with gyros - main courses, for €15 each. There were two side salads with some meat and pre-bought pita bread. It was definitely overpriced for this portion, especially considering the ingredients. The “Coca Cola Zero” definitely wasn’t one either. Here you can see absolute profit optimization at the expense of the customer. They didn't like the food at the neighboring table either. Lots of fries and soggy, fatty meat. What has to be noted positively is that the staff is very friendly. We still won't be coming back.
