Nice ambience, very good food and attentive service. Can be recommended.

The meat was great - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waiting time was relatively long, but it was also very well attended.

Sorry, I didn't eat there, but my wife today, she ate something vegetarian. What can I write? There was very little choice because the menu was thin. The food was very economical. Everyone else had 2 dumplings on their plate, the vegetarian plate only had one dumpling. So if it weren't for the family guests, she would have gone home hungry, and that for a price of €22. Incidentally, the salad was from the neighbor's food. THIS DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!!! The result is a big negative rating.

Yesterday we went to the Talschänke for Christmas dinner with ten people. Unfortunately my food was inedible. The fish had a strange consistency and the mashed potatoes were definitely from the day before yesterday. Disappointing.

Great Service! Particularly thanks to Natalia helped me a lot. I had language problem but she was my saviour. Calm and luxury ambience, food was really nice as well. Lamp chop and aged steak were the best ever. I am Korean, who might be not common here as well as I have my own restaurant business but it means tastes meet Asian flavour even. Never you get regret. Service and waiters, waitresses are so kind!

We were there on a Tuesday early evening and were very satisfied. The service was attentive, the food (tomato soup, pork fillet with mushrooms and redfish, plus a salad buffet) was tasty and hot. We will come back and recommend the Talschänke. 👌🏽

A very nice location. The food was of very good quality and tasted excellent. We had onion soup as a starter and fillet with champion pepper sauce with fries/fried potatoes as a main course. Bread with a delicious cream was even served free of charge. Unfortunately, it is no longer commonplace today. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, even though it was quite busy. Conclusion we will be back.

Personally, I enjoy being here and have already had a Christmas party there with the company. I have just booked a table for another Christmas party. Keep it up, you are great

We had a very nice afternoon with a great meal for our son's birthday. The mixed starter was varied and delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection. The service is very attentive and very child-friendly. The dessert consisted of crème brulet, apple cake, soufflé with a liquid chocolate center was a great mix to finish. An absolute feel-good place for the whole family. We'd love to come back.

We love the Talschänke! The food is incredibly delicious. The dry-aged steak is prepared medium to medium-rare and tastes excellent. The appetizer platter is fresh and varied. We love the grilled mushrooms and the dips with the crusty bread. Service is always friendly and courteous. The ambience is very nice and always appropriately decorated. By the way, you can also visit the garden terrace with dogs. A visit to the Talschänke is always a pleasure!

We just stopped in for a drink. It is a very nice and well-kept restaurant with a beer garden. The staff is super nice and the drinks were nice and cold and refreshing. We would come back at any time.

Very good food, the service is friendly, we had a table outside where we were presented with the bill without asking at 8:30 p.m. in cash or by card. We actually wanted to order dessert but after the promotion we were no longer interested and left. It's a shame because everything else was satisfactory and it spoils your future visit.

The furnishings are modern and stylish, but still create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. You immediately notice that there is a lot of attention to detail here, which makes the entire ambience unique. The staff was also outstanding. Friendly, attentive and always professional - you feel well looked after from start to finish. The staff definitely helped make the evening an unforgettable experience. Overall, I can only warmly recommend the Talschänke. The combination of excellent food, great design, outstanding staff and an atmosphere that invites you to linger makes this restaurant an absolute must. A visit here is highly recommended!

The meat was perfectly fried and cooked to perfection. The Aperol Spritz was also excellent and mixed just right. Particularly pleasing for families: There is a small but nice children's playground where our children had a great time. The location of the restaurant is also beautiful, which makes the visit a completely successful experience. We'll definitely be back!

Today we went to this restaurant with a small group for a nightcap at 4 p.m. after our hike in the Hexbachtal. We were all very positively surprised. Great ambience, friendly staff and a very appealing menu. We will definitely have a table reserved for dinner soon. 👍🏻👍🏻😊 On June 30, 2024 my husband and friends had dinner there. After I wrote my first impression above, we wanted to test and enjoy the food. It was very good and reasonably priced. The service staff was once again extremely attentive and friendly. Got the wrong food, waitress rolls her eyes and argues. The partner's food was tough and was canceled. Not recommendable. In my opinion, price performance is not right at all.

After a visit a few weeks ago, it was clear that this highlight would have to be visited again. The visit took place in the beer garden, one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Essen. Superbly furnished and surrounded by beautiful nature. The Hexbachtal can be visited not far away. The service is extremely friendly, very well informed and extremely helpful. The greeting from the kitchen is of high quality and makes you curious to continue enjoying the main courses. These are also hard to beat in terms of quality and give you hope for something new on your next visit. The price/performance ratio is also good. After the restaurant was taken over by another operator last year, the Talschänke is hardly recognizable in a positive way!

Decent steakhouse and beer garden. The service was good, but not particularly attentive. However, there was an event in the restaurant and in the beer garden so there were only 2 waitresses. They were nice, but you could also tell that they had probably been working really hard for several hours. The food was good, but since we didn't order any steaks, unfortunately not anymore. Unfortunately the portions were quite small. We will eat there again soon when it's not so busy. Maybe it's better than good after all

We were in the Talschänke after a funeral with around 40 people. The communication in advance went smoothly and all requests were taken into consideration and addressed. There are plenty of parking spaces on site and the restaurant is in a very quiet location. The staff was friendly, courteous and quick. The food was very tasty, fresh and vegetarian and vegan preferences were also catered for. The atmosphere on site is very nice and the furniture looks new and high quality. In terms of price it is a bit more expensive, but justified for what was offered. We found the visit highly recommended.

Spontaneously went to the restaurant again today. The welcome was, as always, very friendly. And even though we didn't reserve a table, there was a nice spot for us. Maybe that was because we didn't arrive until later in the evening. As always, the food was perfect. The side salad, thank God, wasn't in the dressing and was well balanced, the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was very tasty and you didn't have to look for the mushrooms. The bruscetta looked so delicious that we couldn't take a photo and ate it straight away. There was nothing left of the US rump steak with fries that was offered and ordered. The waitresses were always courteous and attentive. All in all, again excellent and successful.

We ate there with our family after our civil wedding and had a lovely evening with fantastic food. The service was very nice and attentive and the table was nicely decorated for us. The ambience creates a very pleasant atmosphere. We will come back in the future even without a wedding. 😁✌️☺️

We were in the Talschänke for the third time and were totally thrilled again. The service is great, the food is excellent, just like the first time. Again we chose the octopus as a starter and then the chateaubriand. The grilled octopus is super tasty and the Chateaubriand is our highlight, it really couldn't be better. The service could have been a little more attentive at times (especially when the glasses are empty). However, the staff was otherwise very nice and accommodating. So it doesn't matter that much to me.

We were in the new Talschänke for the first time after it reopened. What an atmosphere! A fine, stylish, warm interior. Candlelight, finely set tables, good olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the tables. A very attentive service. A daily menu, a daily recommendation and a menu with a very varied selection! The choice was not easy for us. The wines were more expensive - but both open red wines were exquisite. Finally a restaurant with a good wine selection! The entre from the house - delicious farmer's bread with spread. The bruscetta we ordered was crispy and fresh. The beef fillet is on point and the pepper sauce is a poem. The Mediterranean vegetables are crisp and fresh. The salad selection is good. The pasta with fillet was also fine. The service staff was charming, friendly and attentive - thank you Victoria. for the attention. I had had a small traffic accident on the way shortly before and she noticed that I was a little off the lane. We haven't eaten so well in a long time and will come again. It's a gem around here.

The steaks were tasty and the degree of doneness was good. What was a bit annoying was that we ordered one English steak and one medium-rare, and the waiter didn't know which was which. Whether there was a salad with the dishes or not is irrelevant because the salad was free for everyone that evening. The staff is friendly and helpful. Since it was very busy, it was appropriately lively, but not too unpleasant.

We ordered the menu for 2 people. The dry aged steak was great and cooked exactly how we ordered it. The starters and dessert were very tasty. We were surprised that the main course included a total of 2 side dishes and not per person. But it was completely enough. Small negative point, when it's full it's a bit noisy. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is friendly and helpful.

Visited for the first time, certainly not the last time. I'm looking forward to the next portion of pulpo and the great steak.
