Food was good. Service was very nice and very attentive.

We were there with a larger group. The service was friendly and quick. From ordering to paying, everything went smoothly. The restaurant seemed very clean and tidy. The food came out of the kitchen at the same time for everyone. It was appetizingly prepared and of good quality. Taste is subjective, but I really enjoyed it. Only positive things came from the others in my group. The price/performance ratio was right here. Gladly again 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great, small and cozy restaurant right next to the landmark of Essen. Here you can eat as a couple, as well as with several or the entire extended family. You should definitely make a reservation a few weeks in advance if you are visiting around certain holidays. Would like to eat here. The food is excellent and prepared to perfection. The staff is very nice, helpful and available at any time. The restaurant can be reached directly from the street, the parking spaces are right next to it and are the same. Like the supermarket next door. There are also children's meals on the menu, these are half portions of the main courses and therefore only cost half. There is no space or children's area here. However, there are also high chairs for very small children.

Italian cuisine. Pasta and pizzas 🍕 You can't complain about the price/performance ratio, the taste is completely OK. Drinks from glass bottles. What I personally like to drink the most. Come again

We were here for the first time today and definitely not the last time. ☺️ The restaurant is very comfortably furnished and the service is very attentive and not at all intrusive. I think the prices are absolutely fair and the food we had was very tasty and, in my opinion, the portion size was absolutely sufficient! We would love to come back. (Mini tip from me, you could name the dishes that are outside the regular menu again at the table. They are great and I only saw it by chance, which is how I came across my dish) ☺️

Ate here twice in October with 3 people, it is a nice place with a good atmosphere, the staff is very friendly, and a joke is easy to make, fast service, good beer, the food is very affordable and tasty and definitely recommended if you are nearby.

We were there with a group for Christmas dinner. Although the restaurant was completely full with several groups, we received very friendly and impeccable service. The food was good as usual and we were all very satisfied. Unfortunately it was very loud due to the many guests. We still enjoyed the evening.

We recently had our Christmas party at Mezzo Mezzo and were extremely impressed with the food and service! Despite the large group, everything came together - a compliment to the kitchen! - and the service was impeccable even at a later hour. We'd love to come back :)

A pleasant restaurant, very tasty and hot food, we had different noodles, good portions, prices and performance are top. The staff are friendly, helpful and you feel like you are in good hands as a guest. Since we definitely want to go to the mine again, we will definitely stop by again.

We were very satisfied! The food is delicious, the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive and Mediterranean. What I found absolutely great was the interaction with our small children and the children's menu: all the dishes on the menu were in smaller portions for children - no nuggets/fries/ketchup, but real food in small portions. Perfect! Also recommended for larger groups and with children.

Great place to eat Italian food. Very friendly, very communicative, very family-friendly, very inexpensive and flexible when it comes to things if you're not that hungry. The only downer: the room acoustics! When it's full, it can sometimes be very loud, which is a little uncomfortable and not very atmospheric. Conclusion: An insider tip for satisfaction in terms of food and price-performance ratio. We'll definitely be happy to come back again and again.

This is just a nice cozy restaurant. Large portions of delicious food I had the mixed grill and my wife had the tagliatelle. Dessert was also delicious and more than sufficient

A very nice restaurant with delicious and authentic Mediterranean food

We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. The food was really delicious. The falafels and dates wrapped in bacon were particularly impressive. The falafels seem to be freshly prepared (you rarely get this) and the dates are large, juicy Medjool dates, great! Price performance is also good and we also had nice service. Highly recommended after visiting the mine.

Surprising Italian restaurant, we ordered fish and the truth is that it was perfectly cooked and without sauce...as it should be. The tiramisu was exquisite.

It's a shame that not all customers are treated equally. We wanted to order food to pick up by phone today. That didn't work, pizza can't be ordered because it's so full. We could come by and eat on site, then we could order pizza, but not for pickup. Even the offer to pick up the food in an hour was simply ignored. It's a shame that you make such differences with your customers.

Because of the positive reviews, we were there today for the first time full of expectations and were extremely disappointed. Let's start with the ambience and the background noise, which was extremely loud. If you want a quiet evening here, you're unfortunately in the wrong place. The next point was the service, which only caused you to shake your head - there were a total of 5 employees behind the counter who only had an overview Nobody. Since even though the waiter walks past the table five times or stands at the next table and doesn't see that the guest still doesn't have his drink, which he ordered 40 minutes ago, it's more than sad. The taste of the food was ok, but that's it Also when ordering meat, you should ask how the guest would like it.... A little tip: frying a rum steak is a no-go.🥺 Last but not least, the bill....oh wonder, the drinks that were ordered but not brought were on it. All in all, it was an evening to forget and a real shame for the time. Price/performance ratio is zero here. For someone who is from the restaurant itself When it came, it was just a matter of shaking your head. That's not how you treat guests. And just by the way, it's not the guest's job to point out what he's doing to the waiter. It may be that this wasn't the day of the Mezzo Mezzo team, but it will be a second time we definitely don't want to find out again.🫣

We had dinner there today with a large group on the occasion of a birthday. The service was very friendly and attentive. People kept asking if we needed anything and everyone was very accommodating. What I thought was really great was that the children were taken into account. Something was brought straight away to paint and each child was given their own menu. The food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it very much. An all round successful stay :)

The two of us were there for a bite to eat and a drink. The staff in the restaurant are extremely friendly, which contributes to the very pleasant atmosphere. The furnishings are original. Despite there being a lot of people, it wasn't loud, which was also helped by the good layout of the restaurant. We ate bruscetta. We recommend. We were given bread and quark in advance without asking. You will feel comfortable there and eat well.

Very nice ambience, very friendly service and super tasty and certainly freshly prepared Mediterranean food at reasonable prices make Mezzo Mezzo something special. I can very well understand why it is well attended every day and why there is a big celebration there almost every weekend.

Wow! It was a great decision to come here. On an evening with a lot of other guests, we were served friendly and received our food quickly. The seafood in the salad was super fresh. The price is high but still okay.

The restaurant has a beautiful front part and a hall-like back part. We were placed there and with large parties of around 80 people it was very loud. The service and food were very good. Next time I would ask for a table in the quieter part.

Steak, grill plate and carbonara were above average. But tap water from the Pyur soda maker for €5.10 is underground and the antipasti plate is poorly filled. A pity.

Relaxed, chilled atmosphere, easy-going employees. The location (near the main entrance to the Zollverein Coal Mine) was really good. Difficult to find parking spaces.
