We were at your restaurant yesterday. There was a slight hiccup with the reservation, but you quickly found a perfect solution, and as an apology, the first round of drinks was on the house. The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the salads were forgotten with our main courses. However, this didn't bother any of us, as the portions were already quite generous, and none of us felt we needed an extra salad. A fantastic team and friendly hosts – what more can you say? So, we're happy to give you 5 stars all around.

Hi, we had our Christmas get-together at Syrtaki yesterday. As always, we ordered the Socrates Plate. As always, the food was delicious. The gyros and liver were grilled to perfection. The salad was fresh and crisp with a tasty dressing. The service was friendly, fast, and very attentive. Empty beer glasses were promptly replaced with freshly poured ones. A very nice evening. We've been back to Syrthaki several times since it reopened. The food and service are excellent. We've tried many different dishes and they've always been top-notch and incredibly delicious. A definite recommendation! 😃 We love coming to Syrthaki and always feel right at home. 👍🍻

I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to for this one. We went to Syrthaki for our Christmas party. It was a wonderful evening for all of us. The service was excellent, and the food was superb. Ouzo was also on offer. A very young team is working here, and they're clearly passionate about what they do. I personally have never eaten such delicious gyros; the tzatziki was also delicious and very flavorful. I'll definitely be back. Merry Christmas and best of luck for 2026. Keep up the great work!

I can't comment on the service and ambiance since I picked up the food. But the food was a complete disappointment for the price. The garlic bread for €6.50 was just four slices of white bread with nothing on it. The gyros plate was okay for €17.50. But we weren't at all satisfied with the two turkey dishes in Metaxa sauce. A children's portion with a regular steak and a mini steak cost €21.90. We've been going to Syrtaki for over 25 years, but this was unfortunately our last visit. We weren't satisfied with the bill, especially not for almost €75 without drinks. Update: Following your reply, I'd like to clarify from my perspective: Prices? They were different under the previous owner, as were the portion sizes. Regarding the garlic bread: you simply forgot to give me the tomato and garlic mixture, and the portion size has also decreased; it used to be five slices (and different bread), now it's only four. You're right about the star rating for service and ambiance; I've removed it. Otherwise, a lot has changed. With the previous owner, Marios, I always got a small drink when I picked up my food, and he always took the time for a quick chat (I also knew him outside of Syrtaki, back in the day). That's why I was shocked by the unfamiliar faces and voices. Therefore, I think we can definitely judge the food and the prices, and we never had a bad word to say about Marios; the food was always great. This time, however, we were really disappointed for the price. I'm simply not going to drive halfway across town for that again; I'll unfortunately have to find someone else. P.S.: A little greeting to Marios: no one can replace you and your family. All the best to you. It was an honor.

We had the leg of lamb (the texture was very tender, but the spices were more reminiscent of German cuisine) and the baked eggplant (only breaded on one side?). There was hardly any garlic flavor, which was odd for Greek food. The decor is dated, but it was clean. The waiters were friendly.

The food and ambiance were above average. The staff were extremely friendly, but a little overwhelmed. Some ordered dishes never arrived, although they were very apologetic. All in all, a good Greek restaurant worth a visit. However, the prices are rather high for the service provided.

Yesterday, the two of us went out to eat together, and it was a lovely evening! The drinks and food arrived quickly and were delicious! Quick service was important to us because the restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. and our child was with her grandmother! The portion was perfect and the atmosphere was lovely! I also noticed the pleasant scent in the restroom! All in all, a fantastic evening! We'd gladly go back!

Particularly noteworthy: the tzatziki had a real punch. I've never had it so intense and delicious at a Greek restaurant. The rest of the food was delicious, standard Greek restaurant fare.

Our first and last visit to this restaurant. A real shame. The prices are very high. The turkey in Metaxa sauce was incredibly thin and barely worth mentioning. A portion of fries arrived late with it, and that for €21.90. The souvlaki was inedible and went back to the kitchen. They explained that they wanted to try something new! As a guest, you become a test subject here. The replacement looked familiar, but was grilled completely dry. We were never offered an apology or compensation. When paying, we had to wait a long time after receiving the bill and then ask again for the debit machine. Bad service. Bad food.

Beautiful, cozy, and warm interior. Cozy atmosphere. Reopened September 15, 2025: Quality still excellent. Food consistently good. Staff is friendly, nice, and accommodating. Fast service. Absolutely reasonable value for money. 😊 Highly recommended.

Super delicious food and very nice people :) Always worth a visit

Unfortunately, my visit here didn't impress me. I've been here several times, and this time I was truly disappointed. The price for the bifteki, €20.50, is still acceptable, even if it's comparatively high, but I couldn't detect any difference in taste or quality. I was particularly bothered by the fact that the bifteki is only served with rice. When I asked if I could have baked potatoes instead, I was offered a replacement, but I was served only four boiled potatoes on a separate plate, which were then charged an extra €4. I found this extremely rude because it wasn't communicated beforehand, and I ordered something else.

Quiet, relaxed Greek restaurant with very friendly and attentive service! Wonderfully tasty, tender, and aromatic crowns of lamb on gyro (Larissa) and excellently tender and spicy liver slices on gyro (Sokrates) accompanied by a very good creamy tzatziki, followed by an authentic, aromatic Greek mocha Everything was excellent, a true delight, my honest recommendation!

This was our last visit to Syrtaki. The gyro portion was significantly smaller than before. The Metaxa gyro had a very bland flavor. The pork steak was very tough and tough, and even after returning it to the kitchen, it didn't improve. All the dishes were very poorly garnished, and the side dish, rice, was cold and flavorless. In summary, none of the dishes lived up to the price tag of €19-22. Dinner was a complete disappointment, and we won't be returning.

We had been regular customers at the previous restaurant for many years and were only disappointed. NOTE: New owner, and we're regular customers again. The food was delicious, Metaxa sauce was Metaxa sauce again. The tzatziki was fantastic. The portions were generous, and the guys said thank you with ice-cold ouzo. The ambiance and cleanliness were superb. The service was, as always, top-notch. We wish the whole team much success and a full house.

Unfortunately, it's been closed for several months. It was always worth a visit. The restaurant is scheduled to reopen on September 12, 2025, at 5:30 PM with a new operator.

I purchased a voucher there 14 days before the restaurant closed. Unfortunately, I wasn't informed that the restaurant would be closing soon, which I find very cheeky. I hope the information on Google is correct, that it's only a temporary closure. It would be nice if the information about the current closure and hopefully soon-to-be reopening were also available on the restaurant's website.

The Syrtaki in Chemnitz is a great restaurant with authentic Greek cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is very friendly and the food tastes excellent. Absolutely recommended!

Is within the expected price range. Service was very friendly, ambience was also nice. I also like the idea of ​​the napkins, which show contextual words in Greek. We were there at lunchtime on a Friday, there were very few other guests there, which is probably why we got the food so quickly. There isn't the biggest selection of food, but it's not small either. The salad dressing wasn't my thing and there wasn't enough tzatziki in the main course (for my taste), which made the food quite dry. But all in all still delicious.

There was a long hair on the salad, then we received the main course first and had forgotten our starter. Then only the fries were made fresh and the rest was only slightly warmed. Then we asked every 5 minutes if everything was OK. It was really pushy. We were happy to go, but that was it for now.

As always, it was very tasty, unfortunately we can't go to the restaurant anymore, but it tasted great at home too. A big compliment to the staff, everyone was very friendly. As always, ordering over the phone worked great. I give it all the stars and can only recommend it. Keep it up. Have a nice evening.

Syrtaki is a very nice and exceptionally good restaurant. There are many different and delicious dishes. The service is very friendly and ambitious to fulfill all wishes. Syrtaki can definitely be recommended, which is why I give it 5 stars. PS: There are free parking spaces in the backyard that are free.

The air is burning here at the weekend and you should be patient. The food tasted good, but the portions were significantly larger. The service was quick and friendly. The free ouzo tasted watery. The prices are at a high level. Overall it was good, but you don't have to do it every month.

We were there last night... It was a nice relaxing round... Everyone who complains that they had to wait a long time for their food.. Yes, we had to wait an hour too.. But with 4 large tables in the restaurant with at least 10 people at one table, the chef at the back can't do magic either.. If I wanted a quick meal I can recommend Maces.. 😉 Every wish was met with warmth. Thank you for letting us be there, keep it up

Garlic potatoes are not recommended. Everyone at the table didn't like the food (18 people). For each one it was something different - sometimes the rice, sometimes the potatoes or the Metaxa sauce. The service also left a lot to be desired. And the prices are totally overpriced. No recommendation!!

Very friendly welcome, good service. Could have been a little more attentive, especially with regard to children present. The food is good, the prices are right and you are definitely full 😎 The starter plate wasn't a big hit for me as it lacked some attention to detail. The ambience didn't convince me 💯% either, but that's ultimately my own subjective feeling. Conclusion for me, it's ok so far, there is still some potential. Five stars next time?

I had a stomach ache all night after eating here. The soup that was sold to me as vegetarian was actually made with meat broth. Since I can't digest meat, I prefer to ask whether the soup is vegetarian or made with meat broth. If the waiter answers me "without meat broth", I have to be able to rely on it. You can't do that at this restaurant. I'm disappointed.

I've never experienced anything like this! After we were there for half an hour and no one served us, let alone asked for drinks, we approached the waiters. We then waited 2 whole hours for our food! When the bill came, the wrong price was charged for the drinks and an espresso that we had never ordered. After we asked for correction, we were able to pay. Two days later we compared the invoice and the debit receipt and found that a whole €100 too much had been debited!!! Absolute disgrace, I absolutely cannot recommend it unless you want to be ripped off!

Best Greek in Chemnitz and Saxony!

Delicious food and nice service. Unfortunately, very long waiting times. We had to wait at least 2 hours for our main courses to arrive. We also had to wait over an hour for our entrees. We also had to call a waiter several times to place an order. Otherwise it's a great shop with nice waiters and delicious food. So the wait is worth it. Unfortunately, the prices are also very high, but they are fair for the quality of the food.

This has been our family's traditional restaurant for special occasions for about 20 years. And it's always nice to be here.

Unfortunately, the taste of the food was not original Greek like on the menu but rather very neutral in taste. Moussaka was barely seasoned and very bland, with the Mykonos grill plate the meat was dry and with Psito the lamb was tender as butter but served with a dill sauce. The waiter explained to us that there was a new chef in the kitchen. Service was great and friendly. However, the price/performance ratio is not justified for us. Too bad.

A very nice restaurant, modern furnishings, subtle indirect lighting, unfortunately the tables are quite close together due to space constraints. Without exception, the staff were super friendly and in a good mood, as is typical of the Greek mentality. Unfortunately, the waiting times after the orders were taken were quite long, but it was a Saturday evening and all the tables were full, so I think that's to be expected. And the most important thing at the end, the food was excellent and very, very tasty, typical Greek cuisine, always a pleasure.

A nice restaurant in terms of ambience. The service was quick and friendly. I was disappointed with the food. The garlic bread was "soggy". I know it differently. The mushrooms ala Chef were weak. Hardly a trace of cheese. And you had to order the ouzo and pay for it. That's not possible. Well, I know much better Greeks. My sister-in-law's bifteki was half raw.

A beautiful restaurant in Chemnitz, we went there spontaneously and didn't make a reservation. After a short wait we got a table. The restaurant was fully booked but the service was wonderfully balanced and very friendly, so you didn't have the feeling that the kitchen and the service were stressful. I got the best leg of lamb there ever. We will eat there again next time we are in Chemnitz, but then with a reservation. Thanks to the restaurant owner who gave us a table despite no reservation and the evening we had booked and remained very friendly throughout everything. I'm not used to it, most of the time you get an unfriendly rejection and have to leave.
