Restaurant Sumak in Wuppertal

We visited the Sumak restaurant in Wuppertal today and were so satisfied! The soups were well seasoned and tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive, which made our visit even more pleasant. We particularly liked the fact that plenty of fresh bread was served with the soups - which rounded off the enjoyment perfectly. There are negative points for the pricing of the menu.

Not recommended at all, looked interesting at first glance but you learn from mistakes. The meat was bloody, the kebab had hardly any sauce and the fries were completely soaked in fat. When I wanted to complain about the food, I was shouted at by the kebab man. No recommendation!!!

Unfortunately, the waiters are catastrophic, they don't ask you if you need anything, and even after a while you don't ask, even if you raise your hand or speak to them, I think they're at least skillfully ignored.

Ordered pizza kebab, unfortunately the taste is absolutely not recommended. Meat neither tasted like kebab nor did it look appetizing. Maybe it was the cheap price. In addition, the pizza was unseasoned. However, the service was great, very friendly. That's why I give it 3 stars. But neither the kebab pizza nor the chicken skewer dörum tasted good.

The food was excellent, there's nothing to complain about. The ambience is also very pleasant. Service, on the other hand, fell sharply. We ordered two dishes and, as a special request, ordered them "without bread". Price €8.50 per plate. Another dish was then made from this for €12.90. We were not informed that this other dish would then be significantly more expensive. Perhaps I should have been more careful during the ordering process, but during the complaint process the lady was immediately defensive and absolutely unwilling to have a conversation. After all, I should have known that. Service looks completely different. Too bad.

If you like Turkish food, this is the place to eat. Delicious food and very attentive staff - that's all you need to spend a nice evening, morning or lunch, with an outdoor area on the pedestrian zone In my opinion, the ambience dates back to the time when the Oebel bakery existed here.

Really very well made restaurant, food tastes good and has a large selection, ambience is also good. The only negative is parking, there is none and every driver knows how bad parking spaces are in the city.

The remaining grilled meats are somehow served again. And there is definitely gender discrimination in this workplace.

Ordered a falafel plate with rice and got fries. It would have been okay, but unfortunately the falafel was very dry and not freshly fried. The salad was without dressing. We eat here again and again and it tastes great every time. Today we had breakfast for the first time and it was great. The service is very nice and attentive. Inside it still looks like it did back in the bakery days and it is sometimes very drafty. Otherwise great!

1. Cola 0.2l in a bottle and Cola 0.33l in a can cost the same. That's unfair. 2. You are “just” transferred. 3. Card payment not possible. 4. Employee doesn't give any remaining money if you don't say anything. The food tastes really good. But it's not worth anything if the service isn't right.

Unfortunately, right on the phone someone was dissatisfied with their life, strange that such people work as waitresses. The pre-ordered food was forgotten, I had to wait until they prepared it 🙄. After four orders I won't do it again. Something was always forgotten and not included. Ciao....

The breakfast is amazing, even the normal dishes are super delicious! The service is very friendly and tries hard, it's always very busy, they have an incredible amount of work to do, they asked to pay 3 times and waited a long time to pay. The ambience is nothing special and the place is very small for so much Visitors, you sometimes sit back to back in the back and then of course people have to leave. But it's worth it for the delicious food alone! The best Turkish restaurant in the valley

Ordered Turkish pizza with doner meat. Should be topped with everything except cocktail sauce. However, after the first bite I tasted the unwanted cocktail sauce. So far it's not too bad. We are all human and humans make mistakes. But now comes the outrageous!! I got the same half-eaten Turkish pizza where they tried to “scrape off” the cocktail sauce (see photo) Inappropriate for a restaurant. The service is helpful and polite. The mistake is in the kitchen.

Our first experience at this restaurant with my family was overall pleasant, although a bit crowded and noisy. The food was consistently delicious, however I must emphasize that I cannot recommend the Iskender dish here. Normally the iskender consists of thinly sliced ​​kebab meat, but here it was more chopped and the bread underneath was extremely soft. Therefore, I would advise against this dish. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience at this fine dining restaurant.

The Yaprak kebab, probably made in-house, tasted very good. I would eat again. The daily specials looked good and fresh, but I can't rate them as I haven't tried them. The place looked clean. What stands out: too many awkward young waitresses who walk around the restaurant disorientated the whole time. Please don't let the butcher/butcher walk around the shop with a white coat and traces of blood... it's very unsavory when you see something like that.

Bad service. We entered the restaurant in the morning and the clerk told me that the tables were reserved even though the restaurant was empty. When we asked about the menu she said there were only two types of food! We left without ordering anything. I definitely won't be coming back.

Best kebab in town. Yaprak kebab, homemade and assembled, made from veal... Not the standard kebab you know from any kebab shop. Highly recommended

Insbesondere Lahmacun und Döner sehr zu empfehlen.

Waren schon des öfteren Samstags zum Essen da Es war immer reichlich und lecker. Vielleicht sollte man die Inneneinrichtung etwas modernisieren.

Einfach nur wow! Der Geschmack war hervorragend, Preis-Leistung top, Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich:) leider wohnen wir nicht hier, sonst würden wir hier öfter essen gehen. Von außen sah es erst nach einem Imbiss aus, aber lasst euch davon nicht abschrecken. Einmal drinnen ist es sehr gemütlich und größer als man denkt:) Zum Abschluss gab es einen kostenlosen Tee

Ich war oft da. Kleine Anmerkung - > War vor kurzem da und habe mir Cigara Böregi bestellt und hoffte auf die 6-7 kleinen Röllchen die es immer waren Nein es waren nur noch 4 längere war dann etwas enttäuscht denn die lösung mit den 4 großen fand ich nicht so gut und auch vom Geschmack und vom Cross her können die neuen nicht mit den alten kleinen mithalten die haben besser geschmeckt. Der Sumak Hähnchensalat hat sich auch verändert, nämlich wird nun Hähnchen vom Dönerspieß genutzt, vorher war es normale gegrillte Hühnerbrust. Muss aber sagen hat mir trotzdem sehr gut geschmeckt, hätte nicht gedacht das es passen könnte, aber das hat mir erstaunlich gut geschmeckt. Nur halt bei den Cigara Böregi würde ich mir wünschen das sie da wieder zurück switchen zu den alten kleinen Böregi's. Zum Ambiente würde ich mir draußen in der kalten Jahreszeit wünschen das sie Decken zur Verfügung stellen oder Heizstrahler installieren würden denn bei schlechten Windverhältnissen ist es draußen sehr ungemütlich und man sollte von den Schirmen die dort angebracht sind vielleicht mal prüfen ob die noch in Ordnung sind da hier und da Löcher zu sehen waren wo es reintropfte. Zu den Getränken finde ich das man da bei den Größen nacharbeiten könnte, denn ich würde gerne mal auch ein großes Glas oder eine Flasche Sprite trinken, da sind sie nicht so gut aufgestellt, wie ein weiteres türkisches Restaurant paar Straßen weiter, also da sehe ich auch leichten optimierungsbedarf, aber ansonsten ist alles prima und zur vollsten Zufriedenheit der Kunden. Und jetzt kommt es zum besten des Restaurantes (Essen Allgemein und Personal!!!) Zum Personal: Das Personal ist sehr höflich und Hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend. Servieren alles auf höchstem Niveau. Das Essen wird immer sehr ansprechend serviert. Zum Essen Allgemein die Speisen sind sehr frisch und sehr gut verarbeitet und gekocht/ gegrillt und angerichtet Allgemein Alle Speisen sind hier entsprechend der deutschen Lebensmittel Standards, sowie der traditionellen Küche des jeweiligen Landes zubereitet. Es wird hier auch auf die traditionelle Verarbeitung der Lebensmittel höchsten Wert gelegt. Was man von außen und innen im Restaurant auch sehr gut sehen kann, sofern die Sicht nicht behindert ist. Da greift eine Hand in die andere, jeder ist mit jeder Menge Disziplin und Hingabe am Werk in seinem Bereich. Einse sehr angenehme Atmosphäre mit viel Liebe vom Personal begleitet. ❤️ Für Familien mit Kindern für junge Leute und auch für Leute mittleren Alters, genau das richtige um wirklich excelent essen zu gehen. Die Wartezeiten sind gut man wartet nicht all zu lange auf sein Essen. Alles in allem kann ich nur empfehlen hier essen zu gehen. 👍🏻👌🏻 Man kann sich dort auch bei Familienfeiern oder Hochzeiten Tische reservieren. Also auch für den Zweck sage ich mal gut zu empfehlen denn auch in solchen Fällen wird sehr viel Wert auf ein schönes Ambiente gelegt. Auch die Bewirtung der Gäste der Feierlichkeiten ist einwandfrei. Und das Tagesgeschäft, also die restlichen Gäste werden dadurch nicht weniger bedient im Gegenteil, es wird hohen Wert darauf gelegt das ALLE Gäste stets zufrieden ist und man auch gerne wiederkommen möchte. Ganz, ganz tolle Crew... ❤️👌🏻

Sehr leckeres Essen und schnelle Bedienung

Hier passt alles ich komme gerne in das Restaurant hauptsächlich für Döner oder Dönerteller. Die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr nett und freundlich außerdem ist das Restaurant immer sehr sauber und das Essen ist einfach 10/10 könnte man mehr Sterne geben würde ich es sehr gerne machen

Sehr freundliches Personal. Der Döner Teller ist sehr lecker. Hähnchenfleisch, Pommes, Salat und Soßen top. Der Teller ist auch immer sehr schön angerichtet. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Wir haben hier gemeinsam das Frühstück (kleineres Frühstück für 2 und großes Frühstück für 2) ausprobiert & dafür gibt es 5 Sterne! Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit - haben nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und sind auf Wünsche eingegangen. Das Frühstück ist super lecker & man kriegt leckeren Tee dazu (den du selber nachfüllen kannst). Die verschiedenen Speisen haben authentisch geschmeckt & waren sehr lecker. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen 👌
