Leider zunehmend sinkende Qualität im Service und den Speisen. Kaum eine Verständigung in deutscher Sprache möglich. Essen ersäuft mehr und mehr im Öl. Wir waren Stammgäste, werden jetzt etwas anderes suchen.

Wir gehen seit Jahren dahin zum essen und bis jetzt sind wir immer zu Frieden. 5 Sterne für Essen und Personal.

Leider können wir dieses Restaurant überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Schon bei der Bezahlung fing es an: Kartenzahlung war nicht möglich. Heutzutage sollte das in einem regulären Restaurant eigentlich selbstverständlich sein. Das Essen war eine große Enttäuschung. Das Dönerfleisch hat unangenehm gerochen, war extrem zäh und voller Knorpel. Es war mit Abstand der schlechteste Döner, den wir je gegessen haben. Das Fleisch war geschmacklich einfach nicht genießbar. Der Salat für 13 € war ebenfalls enttäuschend. Er bestand im Grunde nur aus etwas Feldsalat, ein paar Tomaten und wenig Hähnchen-Dönerfleisch, das leider ebenfalls nicht besonders gut geschmeckt hat. Für den Preis hatten wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Auch die Atmosphäre konnte uns überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Direkt neben dem Restaurant befindet sich eine Baustelle, wodurch das Ambiente sehr ungemütlich ist. Insgesamt haben wir uns dort nicht wohlgefühlt. Für uns war der Besuch leider auf ganzer Linie enttäuschend. Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

Einer der besten Döner in Wuppertal! Selbstgestecker Kalb-Spieß und Hähnchen stehen zur Auswahl. Beide Varianten wurden von uns schon mehrmals getestet und sind super lecker.

Essen Top aber leider keine Kartenzahlung.

Wir waren im Sumak Restaurant in Wuppertal-Barmen und haben Kelle Paça sowie Pide Kuşbaşı bestellt. Während wir auf unser Essen gewartet haben, ist bereits eine Scheibe vom Grill gebrochen. Wir haben uns dabei zunächst nichts weiter gedacht. Während wir gegessen haben, kam dann jedoch eine Glasscheibe bzw. ein Glassplitter aus der Pide heraus und hat dabei meinen Zahn beschädigt bzw. gebrochen. Als Entschuldigung wurde uns angeboten, die Pide nicht bezahlen zu müssen. Die Tatsache, dass sich aber niemand wirklich um die Glasscheibe und meinen Zahn gekümmert hat, war für uns absolut enttäuschend. So etwas darf in einem Restaurant niemals passieren. Die Sicherheit und Gesundheit der Gäste sollte an erster Stelle stehen. Für uns daher absolut nicht empfehlenswert – 0 Sterne.

Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Wie waren schon öfters dort. Es war eigentlich immer ganz gut. Aber dieses Mal war mein Essen, Reis und Gemüse derart versalzen, dass ich es nicht essen konnte. Ich bat meinen Mann zu probieren, der es gleich wieder ausspukte. Als ich es der Kellnerin mitteilte, bedanke sie sich für die Rückmeldung, nahm meinen Teller und verschwand... Das war's. Ich hatte erwartet ein neues Essen zu bekommen, eine Auswahl Möglichkeit oder dass ich es zumindest nicht bezahlen muss. Aber es stand natürlich mit auf der Rechnung. Danke für Nichts. Wie werden nicht wieder kommen. Ist das die neue Art seine Gäste zu vergraulen 🤷‍♂️

Alles war super, schneller und freundlicher Service, qualitativ hochwertige türkische Speisen und eine große Auswahl an Kebabs – das ist unser erster Anlaufpunkt.

Ich habe schon in vielen Restaurants in Deutschland gegessen, aber nirgendwo war das Essen so köstlich. Die freundliche Art von Herrn Yıldırım und seinem Team macht das Essen zu einem wahren Genuss. Ich wünsche allen Mitarbeitern von Sumak viel Erfolg und hoffe, dass sie Europameister werden!

Viel Gutes gehört und wollte es mal testen. Habe mir ein Paprika Schnitzel mit nach Hause genommen. Leider wurde ich total enttäuscht. Schnitzel waren sehr weich, vermutlich Vormfleisch, die soße typisch Imbiss Soße aus dem Eimer. Der Salat war die von einer Wiese und leider ganz ohne Dressing. Einziger Lichtblick waren die Pommes. Ich muss sagen bei den ganzen positiven Bewertungen werde ich noch einmal dort essen aber dieses mal was Türkisches. Das muss wohl sehr gut sein.

Durch Zufall bei einem Aufenthalt in Wuppertal auf dieses tolle Restaurant gestoßen. Ein super leckeres Essen. Wie hatten 5 Gerichte, alle sehr schmackhaft. Nette zuvorkommende Bedienung. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist top. Können wir nur weiterempfehlen

Ein hervorragender Ort für Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen. Das Personal ist freundlich und schnell. Das Essen ist köstlich und die Portionen sind großzügig. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass zu den Frühstücksgerichten traditionell vorgewärmte Teekannen mit köstlich gebrühtem Schwarztee serviert werden. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Ein wirklich hervorragendes Restaurant mit unvergleichbarem Essen. Egal was man von aus der großen Vielfalt and Speisen bestellt, man wird nicht enttäuscht. Sehr empfehlenswert, besonders da die Preise ebenfalls angemessen sind.

Ist schon eine Frechheit das man drängelt schneller zu essen, weil ja ,,Ramandam“ ist und schnell raus muss, weil ja wichtige Leute essen kommen! Die Kellnerinnen sollten man lieber ihre Haare zu binden. Das war sehr ekelhaft gewesen!! Essen war zu teuer und nicht zufriedenstellend, haben noch essen vergessen zu bringen. Das Essen wurde auch schnell kalt, sehr komisch.

Bin enttäuscht war das schlechteste Restaurant wo ich je gegessen habe. Keine ahnung wie ihr adana und sowas macht aber die würze die konsistenz war einfach eklig. kenne das nicht so, die anderen fleisch sorten waren nicht durch oder waren verbrannt. Service unfreundlich. Und dann noch zu sagen habe kein euro grad da haha was soll das heißen mir gehts nicht um 1-2 euro aber da muss man einfach sagen ein moment gebe ihnen das restgeld. Das Restaurant war sehr schön, der Geschmack des in Weinblättern eingelegten Fleisches war etwas ungewöhnlich für mich, aber insgesamt war es gut. Der Reis war köstlich. Vielen Dank und gut gemacht!

Wir kamen auf Empfehlung aus Düsseldorf und waren von Frau Bukets Aufmerksamkeit und dem köstlichen Essen begeistert. Ich kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen; falls Sie einmal in der Gegend sind, sollten Sie unbedingt vorbeischauen.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und waren sehr zufrieden vom Service bis zur Qualität der Speisen und Aromen. Trotz das das Lokal voll war funktionierte der Service schnell und aufmerksam und auch die Vorspeisen und die Hauptmahlzeit in einem angenehmen Zeitrahmen. Alle Sonderwünsche wurden erfüllt und ohne Aufforderung bekamen wir 2 leere Teller als die Kellnerin bemerkte das meine Frau und ich uns 2 Hauptgerichte teilen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, um weitere Speisen zu testen. Einzig die Geräuschkulisse ist schon ein wenig laut.

I visited for the first time today and was struck by how friendly and attentive the staff were. We received excellent service, and even the owner of the restaurant went around to the tables to check if everything was alright and if we needed anything. The space itself is very spacious, which makes it feel more comfortable and not cramped like in many other restaurants. Finally, let's talk about the food: This was the best Iskender I've had in Wuppertal. The meat was juicy, very flavorful, and tender. The bread inside the Iskender was almost crispy because it had been nicely fried in butter, and the combination of both was simply fantastic. This is because the doner meat isn't bought in but comes from their own production. And, of course, it's also due to the skill of the chefs!

It was very delicious. Since we recently immigrated to Germany, the flavors took us back to Turkey. I would especially like to thank Ms. Buket for her service. Auf wiedersehen.

The doner kebab is fantastic, you absolutely have to try it!

I was hungry, it was getting late, and with the menu in German, I didn't have the inclination to use Google Translate, and then have to Google what the various dishes were (and whether or not they were vegetarian). As such, I took the easy way out and opted for pizza - which was fine. I wish I had had the time to explore the menu and Turkish food instead. My loss! At least I had seen beforehand that they only took cash, otherwise I'd have been doing the washing up.

We were there Saturday evening. We got a table immediately. The service was quite friendly and helpful with our selection. The yaprak döner meat was absolutely top quality. No tendons or overly fatty pieces. I unfortunately have to deduct one star because the meat was barely seasoned. We had to add quite a bit of salt ourselves. The prices were very reasonable. The ambiance seemed a bit dated. But otherwise, it was well-maintained and, most importantly, clean. Tip: make your own flatbread! Otherwise, a definite recommendation!

We had a super delicious breakfast. We went spontaneously without a reservation and got a table for two. The food and the delicious Turkish black tea...simply fantastic. We had flatbread/pitta bread and sesame rings. Lots of little antipasti (is that what they're called?), honey, and scrambled eggs each...great selection and plenty of it! This place deserves praise for its sumac döner. I'm sure the other grilled dishes are up to par. Service is very fast, and the staff responds quickly despite the busy schedule. However, a significant shortcoming is the inability to accept credit card payments. This is a significant shortcoming in our current circumstances, and I strongly recommend the restaurant address this issue before losing any more customers.

By far the best Turkish restaurant in Wuppertal. The doner kebab is cooked on a real yaprak spit – not some compressed stuff, but real meat, tender, juicy, and tastes absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is traditionally decorated in an old Wuppertal style, creating an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The portions are large and truly filling. Side dishes are included with every meal at no extra charge: salad, rice, bread, and fries – all fresh and beautifully presented. The ayran is homemade, tastes significantly better than the supermarket kind, and costs the same. Everything is halal, clean, and family-run. I come here regularly because the quality, price, and taste are simply perfect. Highly recommended.

The food is delicious and clean. Their döner kebab is not the factory-made döner kebab you find in Germany. It's real, leaf-based döner kebab. One of the best Turkish restaurants in the Wuppertal area.

We had breakfast here for the first time today – a perfect 10 out of 10! The coffee was a 12+, and the staff was incredibly friendly; we felt warmly welcomed from the very first second. We'd love to come back again! 🤗🤗🤗

Excellent restaurant. Delicious food. We visited with family, and both the kids and adults loved everything. The service and atmosphere weren't particularly memorable. In my opinion, it was closer to a good cafe than a restaurant. But overall, it's decent! The prices are also closer to a cafe than a restaurant. Very reasonable. We went during the day. There were practically no people. I didn't make a reservation. I'd also like to point out the large portions and fresh ingredients. It's located in the city center in a pedestrian area.

Unfortunately, this was the last time...we were completely ripped off. The waitress "explained" the breakfast to us, but in the end, everything was charged separately, and they claimed that's how it had been "explained." Absolutely outrageous!

I'd rather give zero stars than any star at all! The waitress was so brazen, she completely ripped us off. We ordered breakfast, and in the end, the bill was completely wrong without any explanation. When we pointed it out, she was even more rude. I really can't recommend this place to anyone!

Pure rip-off! They charge you for things that are actually included in the price, and any claims are arbitrarily rejected. The staff is very incompetent. I wouldn't recommend them. It was okay until recently, but I'm very disappointed with their services.

In my opinion, the doner meat at Sumak is the best you can get in Wuppertal. The meat and bread are homemade, and the other ingredients are also really fresh and delicious.

Our visit to the Sumak restaurant in Wuppertal was unfortunately disappointing. We could only pay for breakfast in cash and didn't receive a receipt, which made the whole experience inconvenient. Furthermore, the value for money wasn't convincing, and the waitress was unfortunately not very friendly either. As an alternative, we recommend the Troja restaurant in Wuppertal-Elberfeld, where the value for money is significantly better and the quality is impressive.

Fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced spices, and a fantastic variety make every visit a culinary experience. What's particularly impressive is the creative reinterpretation of traditional flavors. The service staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and courteous. As a guest, you feel well looked after without ever being intrusive. The manager also takes time for his guests, personally inquires about their well-being, and creates a particularly warm atmosphere. Sumak, a restaurant we frequent, prepares everything fresh. The grill plate for two easily feeds three people. The lahmacun is also so delicious that it could be the best in all of Wuppertal.

Sumak offers a wide selection from breakfast to dinner. They offer both a doner kebab and pizza and fresh house dishes. The food is incredibly delicious, and the menus are very extensive. Excellent value for money! We visit the restaurant regularly and look forward to it every time. The staff is very attentive, and the shop owner is also on site every day to ensure quality and service. I can only recommend it.

My absolute favorite restaurant for Turkish specialties! I especially recommend the delicious breakfast, which boasts fresh ingredients, homemade bread, and a great selection of cheeses, olives, and spreads. The daily specials are always varied, freshly prepared, and delicious. The doner meat is a real highlight: tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned – you immediately notice the high quality. The service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. If you love good Turkish food, you should definitely stop by here – highly recommended! 🌿🍴

Finally there is also in Barmen (Old Market). Very tasty kebab meat, both chicken and yaprak. The grill specialties are top and at a very high level. During Corona time I discovered the kebab pizza and what can I say. The dough is delicious in combination with kebab and the salad is a dream. Significantly better than other restaurants. I'll be happy when you can sit down there again. Prices are reasonable for the quality!

We had the large breakfast for two people, with two scrambled eggs, one tomato scramble, and one sausage scramble. Everything was super delicious and fresh, truly perfect. There was a large selection of salads, and by the end we were stuffed and happy. The front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful. The value for money was sensational.

The food was good, but they took my drink order and then charged for it. We practically pulled the waiters by the arm. They didn't even come to check on me. I would recommend them if their service was decent.

I ate a beef doner/dürüm here and I have to say: it's absolutely outstanding! The meat isn't the typical "mixed meat" you unfortunately often find in many kebab shops in Germany, but pure beef – juicy, aromatic, and perfectly grilled. Just like you'd get it in Turkey, with real meat flavor and no compromises on quality. The preparation is very reminiscent of the traditional Turkish way, where the meat takes center stage. Every bite is hearty, fresh, and honest – a delight for anyone who loves real doner. For me, it's one of the best beef doner I've ever had in Germany. I like it best with plenty of iceberg lettuce and onions, without any sauce :D

It tasted like barbecue and the presentation was beautiful. It was a real mixed grill with mushrooms and 5-6 different types of meat.

Here you can get delicious and freshly prepared food. There's a daily special, which you have to ask about. You can sit outside in Barmen's pedestrian zone. The service is fast and friendly. I only had one doner kebab for €8.50. But it was very tasty, and you could taste the fresh parsley.

We actually quite enjoy eating there because the food is good, I can't fault that. Unfortunately, I have to deduct stars, though; the service used to be better :/. Today, an employee came over to tell us directly (we were just inside, actually still standing) that a table was reserved. I thought, "Okay, they were just waiting for us." Then we sat at the other table for 20 minutes and 1) got the menus ourselves, and 2) we weren't noticed at all, so nothing, no one came by. Sorry, the service from the employee was poor. 1) she immediately made a bad impression, it could be better - I work with customers myself every day. You have to learn how to address people 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just a note for the future. It really annoyed me, especially after that "greeting" and then simply no attention. It left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a shame - but maybe they'll work with this feedback! 🙏

I ate there today with my nephew and my mother. My doner pizza was so overcooked I left it after two slices. The lagmacun was just as greasy. There was barely any cheese on the pizza. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone in my circle.

We ate there for the first time this week. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic, very helpful, and courteous. A solid A+. We even got a small, complimentary meal of meat we didn't know. All desserts came with free Turkish tea. We'd love to come back.

Doner kebab was very dry, there was more red cabbage and lettuce than meat, the taste was absolutely no. And supposedly the kebab was homemade. Not recommended at all. The taste was zero. I can't understand what people wrote...

Called on a Sunday and ordered to be picked up. We also said exactly when we would be coming and gave them enough time to order. When we arrived we didn't receive our orders because the lady on the phone couldn't pass on our order. Very annoying. It's a shame we definitely won't be eating here anymore.
