Restaurant Sumak in Wuppertal

Doner kebab was very dry, there was more red cabbage and lettuce than meat, the taste was absolutely no. And supposedly the kebab was homemade. Not recommended at all. The taste was zero. I can't understand what people wrote...

Called on a Sunday and ordered to be picked up. We also said exactly when we would be coming and gave them enough time to order. When we arrived we didn't receive our orders because the lady on the phone couldn't pass on our order. Very annoying. It's a shame we definitely won't be eating here anymore.

The food was okay but the service was very poor. We ordered tea and didn't get any tea. After a long time we didn't feel like waiting anymore and just wanted to pay and of course we left.

Really very tasty and the staff is just great, really friendly and helpful. The point is deducted because of the inside temperature, we were there in February and had to put our jacket back on, cold air was just blowing in the whole time. This disrupts the ambience and coziness.

I was at Sumak in Wuppertal and I was absolutely thrilled! The kebab was very tasty, made with fresh ingredients - you can immediately taste the quality. The ayran was also fresh and homemade, exactly as it should be. I would particularly like to emphasize the courteous service – friendly, attentive and fast. Here you feel completely at home as a guest. I'll definitely be back! Clear recommendation!

I can highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly, customer service is great and I can't praise the food enough. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone as the prices are also very good for what you get. It's worth every cent and I can only recommend it. TOP

The food arrived way too late and when it finally arrived the tray fell down right in front of our eyes. Incredibly, the same food from the floor was later placed back on our plates! In addition, a homeless man approached us and although we felt uncomfortable, no one from the staff helped us or offered us another place. Other guests who came after us initially had to sit outside because it was full inside - but as soon as a place became available, they were allowed in immediately. We, on the other hand, sat outside the entire time until the end of our visit. As “compensation” we only received tea on the house, which should be a given anyway. But instead of apologizing for the poor treatment, we were rudely told: “Yes, see you next time.” Definitely the last time for us. Unfriendly service, chaos when making reservations, unhygienic handling of the food – we absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant!

I ONLY RATE THE DÖNER. Offering a kebab for 8€ is a lot. I wouldn't have gone there alone but our friend from Wuppertal wanted to try it out. A it is small, B there is not enough meat, C I ordered another ingredient and there was too much on it. In short: there are much better ones for less money. Too bad.

We love eating at sumak... Everyone is always very familiar and friendly... I've already tried several dishes there and everything was delicious... I can only recommend it... By the way, we now have an infant and they treat him really well too... Top shop

The most delicious breakfast in Wuppertal.

In short: it's okay, especially if you eat meat. Even though it was explicitly stated that you were a vegetarian, the appetizer plate came with meat. But they offered to take it back. Generally there is little choice for vegetarians/lactose intolerant people and the dishes are not labeled, so you have to search for a long time in the extensive menu. When we were there there weren't that many guests in the restaurant. Nevertheless, we had to wait a long time to be able to order and pay a second time. The waiters were there but inattentive. Cay was too good for my taste and Künefe was okay, but can't keep up with other restaurants.

We spontaneously went to Sumak for the first time late last night. We were greeted warmly and given the menu quickly. The selection is very large and ranges from various starters such as grape leaves to beyti, rotisserie dishes and pizza. We chose a kebab plate with rice and a minced meat skewer wrapped in dough with bulgur as a side dish. As a greeting from the kitchen we were given flatbread with dips. We liked everything here very much! Thank you for the lovely evening.

We ordered a small breakfast. We received large, varied portions. A large pot of tea. Fried eggs. Additionally, honey and marmalade. Basket of fresh bread. The price for a small breakfast is 10 euros. I recommend !!

We were there for breakfast today. We ordered a "small breakfast" for €10.90. The plate was very plentiful and varied. There was a bread basket and a pot of tea. The breakfast tasted very good. For the price the food was “top” The atmosphere was cozy and quiet and the service was very friendly. Absolutely recommended 👍🏽

We came to Wuppertal to buy a car. After successful completion, we asked the seller where we could get something delicious to eat. He sent us here without thinking and we were not disappointed.

We visited the Sumak restaurant in Wuppertal today and were so satisfied! The soups were well seasoned and tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive, which made our visit even more pleasant. We particularly liked the fact that plenty of fresh bread was served with the soups - which rounded off the enjoyment perfectly. There are negative points for the pricing of the menu.

Not recommended at all, looked interesting at first glance but you learn from mistakes. The meat was bloody, the kebab had hardly any sauce and the fries were completely soaked in fat. When I wanted to complain about the food, I was shouted at by the kebab man. No recommendation!!!

Unfortunately, the waiters are catastrophic, they don't ask you if you need anything, and even after a while you don't ask, even if you raise your hand or speak to them, I think they're at least skillfully ignored.

Ordered pizza kebab, unfortunately the taste is absolutely not recommended. Meat neither tasted like kebab nor did it look appetizing. Maybe it was the cheap price. In addition, the pizza was unseasoned. However, the service was great, very friendly. That's why I give it 3 stars. But neither the kebab pizza nor the chicken skewer dörum tasted good.

The kebab tasted quite good, unfortunately, as in almost all shops, the drinks are a bit too expensive. I had to pay €1.50 for a small water bottle

The food was excellent, there's nothing to complain about. The ambience is also very pleasant. Service, on the other hand, fell sharply. We ordered two dishes and, as a special request, ordered them "without bread". Price €8.50 per plate. Another dish was then made from this for €12.90. We were not informed that this other dish would then be significantly more expensive. Perhaps I should have been more careful during the ordering process, but during the complaint process the lady was immediately defensive and absolutely unwilling to have a conversation. After all, I should have known that. Service looks completely different. Too bad.

If you like Turkish food, this is the place to eat. Delicious food and very attentive staff - that's all you need to spend a nice evening, morning or lunch, with an outdoor area on the pedestrian zone In my opinion, the ambience dates back to the time when the Oebel bakery existed here.

Really very well made restaurant, food tastes good and has a large selection, ambience is also good. The only negative is parking, there is none and every driver knows how bad parking spaces are in the city.

The remaining grilled meats are somehow served again. And there is definitely gender discrimination in this workplace.

Ordered a falafel plate with rice and got fries. It would have been okay, but unfortunately the falafel was very dry and not freshly fried. The salad was without dressing. We eat here again and again and it tastes great every time. Today we had breakfast for the first time and it was great. The service is very nice and attentive. Inside it still looks like it did back in the bakery days and it is sometimes very drafty. Otherwise great!

1. Cola 0.2l in a bottle and Cola 0.33l in a can cost the same. That's unfair. 2. You are “just” transferred. 3. Card payment not possible. 4. Employee doesn't give any remaining money if you don't say anything. The food tastes really good. But it's not worth anything if the service isn't right.

Unfortunately, right on the phone someone was dissatisfied with their life, strange that such people work as waitresses. The pre-ordered food was forgotten, I had to wait until they prepared it 🙄. After four orders I won't do it again. Something was always forgotten and not included. Ciao....

The breakfast is amazing, even the normal dishes are super delicious! The service is very friendly and tries hard, it's always very busy, they have an incredible amount of work to do, they asked to pay 3 times and waited a long time to pay. The ambience is nothing special and the place is very small for so much Visitors, you sometimes sit back to back in the back and then of course people have to leave. But it's worth it for the delicious food alone! The best Turkish restaurant in the valley

I always ate kebab, the best kebab I've ever eaten. Last kebab I ate 09.03.24 I just threw away rubbish, why don't people always stick to the same cuisine and always try on a cheap basis for me this shop is dead

Ordered Turkish pizza with doner meat. Should be topped with everything except cocktail sauce. However, after the first bite I tasted the unwanted cocktail sauce. So far it's not too bad. We are all human and humans make mistakes. But now comes the outrageous!! I got the same half-eaten Turkish pizza where they tried to “scrape off” the cocktail sauce (see photo) Inappropriate for a restaurant. The service is helpful and polite. The mistake is in the kitchen.
