A pleasant welcome from the service staff, and friendly advice. Unfortunately, the roast beef with onions was cooked through, the almost black onions had no taste, and the fried potatoes were also partially black. The friendly service couldn't make up for the poor food.

You always feel warmly welcome in the custom. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The food is delicious and the service is always friendly and courteous – regardless of who is serving you. I would particularly like to highlight Ivan's excellent service. I really enjoy coming here regularly because everything is so pleasantly uncomplicated. Definitely worth recommending!

Was at the restaurant for dinner. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was ok. I am a passionate asparagus eater. How can you cook asparagus with sugar and then pre-cook it? Then I can eat it straight out of the can. Dear restaurateurs, finally stop pre-cooking asparagus with sugar! If someone wants it sweet, just add a sugar bowl!

Wir waren heute bereits zum zweiten Mal im Restaurant Sitte und rundum zufrieden. Die Begrüßung war sehr freundlich und der Service durchweg aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Ich hatte ein Schnitzel mit Frankfurter Grüner Soße, auf meinen Wunsch hin “natur” serviert – dies wurde völlig unkompliziert umgesetzt. Meine Frau wählte den veganen Burger, der geschmacklich ebenfalls top war. Beide Gerichte wurden schnell serviert, waren frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker. Auch die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist angenehm und einladend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen definitiv gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

Wir waren mit Freunden hier essen (4 Erwachsene, 4 Kinder) und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Sowohl der Service (Ivan) als auch die Gerichte sind positiv hervorzuheben. Geschmacklich war alles sehr gut. Auch Kinderfreundlichkeit wird hier groß geschrieben (Malsachen, Getränk & Eis,…). Unser Fazit: absolut empfehlenswert!

Asparagus schnitzel with hollandaise sauce is very tasty and a good portion! The only drawback: there is very little sauce. I had to order another bowl.

The Sitte restaurant is always a good address if you want to enjoy very good cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The service is always super attentive and incredibly fast.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service sehr freundlich. Leider gibt es zu wenig Parkplätze. Wir mussten 20 Minuten kreisen bis wir einen Parkplatz gefunden hatten.

Die Lammhaxe war der Hammer. Die Kollegen waren ebenfalls mit ihrem Essen und dem Service sehr zufrieden. Leider gibt es zu wenig Parkplätze. Wir mussten lange suchen für einen Platz.

Die Spargel Tortellini waren Mega lecker, die Bedienung sehr nett und aufmerksam. Sehr schönes Ambiente, tolle Atmosphäre

We often went out to eat with our children (2 & 5 years) and didn't have as nice an evening as usual. The kindergarten is great and the kids got something to paint and do puzzles with. Really great. The dishes were excellent and the service staff was attentive and friendly. Just great, thank you.

The wild boar goulash was expandable, the sauce was too watery and too thick due to starch or similar. Service and ambience are outstanding, hence 4 stars.

I was really excited about my visit to Restaurant Sitte in Darmstadt. As soon as you arrive, you'll notice the pleasant atmosphere - the restaurant is spacious and offers plenty of seating, so you immediately feel at home. The menu is varied and offers something for every taste. I particularly liked the opportunity to put together your own bowls - a really creative idea that is fun and leaves a lot of room for individual preferences. But the dishes straight from the menu are also put together with great attention to detail. The portions are very large, so you'll definitely be full, and the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. I was completely impressed by the taste of my dish: fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented – simply super delicious. Another big plus is the exceptionally friendly staff. The service was attentive, warm and always in a good mood - you can tell that hospitality is very important here. Overall, an all-round successful visit - I would definitely like to come back and can only warmly recommend the Sitte restaurant.

We've been coming into this custom for years. At the beginning with two people and now with our 1-year-old offspring. It's very child-friendly here. The service and the food are always top (Wiener-style schnitzel is highly recommended). In summer it's nice to sit on the terrace. We would love to come back (always).

Alles Bestens. Nettes, aufmerksames Personal. Preise etwas höher, dafür aber reichhaltig. Kalte Bratkartoffeln wurden umgehend in der Küche erhitzt.

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig angerufen und dennoch direkt einen Tisch bekommen. Alles war sauber und ordentlich. Wir hatten einen netten und sehr aufmerksamen Kellner (Ivan). Das Essen kam zeitig und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Rumpsteak war perfekt. Bis auf die Kartoffeln, die waren teilweise ein bisschen zu fest, aber dennoch akzeptabel und lecker! Die Kinder haben sich über ihr Eis gefreut, dass sie durch das Ausmalen der Kinderkarte erhalten haben. Ganz liebe Grüße von Familie Dilg

We went to the Sitte restaurant for dinner – and the place was rightly well attended and was impressive! 🍽️ The service was quick and extremely friendly, the food was excellent. Particularly recommended are the regional specialties such as cooked cheese and apple wine as well as the seasonal dishes - currently the green sauce. If you want to eat here, you should make a reservation to be on the safe side!

Wir waren zu dritt in der Sitte. Begrüßung und Bedienung durch George war so, als wenn man zu Gast bei Freunden zu Hause ist. George ist überaus freundlich, auch zu einem Spaß aufgelegt – und dabei aber auch sehr schnell. Es war eine Freude, von ihm bedient zu werden. Das Essen (Wildschweingulasch) war wertig und schmackhaft. Obwohl die Sitte ein sehr großes Lokal ist, ist doch das Ambiente an jedem einzelnen Tisch gemütlich und man hat eine private Atmosphäre. Sitte – wir kommen wieder!

We were at the restaurant on a Friday evening through the Schlemmerblock. The food was very good. The meat was perfectly fried and the pepper sauce tasted very good. Special requests for food were taken into account. The service is also worth mentioning; the waitress who served us was extremely friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back.

A beautiful, traditional location in the heart of Darmstadt. I've known the custom for over 30 years now and have to say that food used to be tastier. Everything was okay but not as tasty as you would expect for such a good, traditional restaurant. The service was good and attentive. There's nothing wrong with that. Have fun eating and if necessary, the cook will use a little more salt and spices next time.

Very rustic atmosphere, great food and great service but a limited menu.

We had a lovely evening at the Custom. However the menu could be larger. It consists mostly of schnitzel. We were there with the Schlemmerblock and received a warm welcome. The cheesecake is to die for. Just a little too much cream in relation to the small cake in the glass. We'd love to come back.

Very attentive and friendly staff. The colleagues are also very friendly. A new colleague started and everything was explained to him wonderfully. The food was very tasty and the raspberry dressing was simply delicious.

I would like to thank the Restaurant Sitte team from the bottom of my heart. I celebrated my birthday on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 with 47 people. Everything was implemented according to my wishes. The food was very tasty. The service was very attentive and loving. Just great 👍🏽 I had a wonderful birthday party. You really feel like a welcome guest here. It is rare to find such attentive and warm service. You can tell that the waiter George loves his job! The food was delicious and the value for money was excellent.

Very nice service, comfortable to sit in, food was good but not a 5/5, more like a 4/5. Potatoes were fried a little carelessly and not all completely cooked through. Otherwise everything is good standard.

What happened? Last night we (two people) were visiting and ordered, completely unspectacularly, two cooked cheese schnitzels with fries. When I asked whether alcohol was used in the cream schnitzel (which is what I actually wanted to eat), the waitress answered me with a clear “no”. My skepticism was justified and after asking again in the kitchen, my suspicions were confirmed. For me personally it’s a “no-go!” because the service should know which ingredients are used. The standard phrase “it’s overcooked,” which is often technically incorrect, doesn’t help much afterward, but the apology does. The schnitzel: WOW - what was that? So you couldn't have tasted it blindfolded. It felt like something flattened and greasy from the deep fryer. We missed both taste and proper preparation. I think it was the first time I left a schnitzel behind. Maybe my head was playing tricks on me afterwards, but I could clearly taste the french fry grease. And that wasn't fresh. The food was served in less than 10 minutes after ordering, the restaurant was completely full. It's a shame, but I think it was so taste-challenging that I can't even think about eating a schnitzel here again.

It was really nice again. We always feel very comfortable and everyone is very nice and attentive. We always enjoy coming back. You can also have a relaxed meal there with children. There are delicious children's meals and books to read.

Always friendly staff who make the guest feel welcome. The custom offers an extremely child-friendly atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to keep children of all ages entertained. Even when the restaurant is full, the volume is very pleasant. The food is portioned just right and very tasty. It fills you up and doesn't overfill you. The quality offered justifies the price one hundred percent.

Maybe I was a bit unlucky with my choice of food: the lamb shank had an unpleasant aftertaste and the fried potatoes were swimming in the sauce. It's better to serve them separately. Grohe's Märzen, on the other hand, was very good.

I received a very friendly welcome and was always looked after attentively and quickly throughout my visit - even though the house was full to the last seat that day! Despite the high occupancy, the service always seemed relaxed and attentive to me. The menu is clear, which I really appreciate because it means the dishes on offer get the attention they deserve. I liked it, even if I wasn't completely convinced by the schnitzel made from Hessian country pork. The atmosphere is modern rustic, I would say. The noise that evening (Wednesday!) was almost deafening and a conversation at our table for two became increasingly difficult due to the acoustics. In addition, the small table lamp flickered. Since this was not observed at the other tables, it was probably not a “feature”. All in all, a successful evening thanks to the great service and my counterpart.

A Wonderful Dining Experience! We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food quality was excellent, truly some of the best we’ve had in a long time. The service was what made our visit truly special. Our waiter, Ehsan, was exceptional. Not only did he provide timely and professional service, but he also went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome. He was incredibly kind to our son, offering him free ice cream, which absolutely made his day. Additionally, Ehsan brought toys for our son to play with, allowing us to enjoy our meal peacefully—a thoughtful touch that we greatly appreciated. Another server, Ivan, was equally fantastic. He also interacted kindly with our son and even took a moment to play with him when he had some free time. It’s rare to find such genuine care and friendliness in customer service. The restaurant itself is spacious, with plenty of seating options, making it perfect for families and gatherings. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and it’s clear that they prioritize creating a great experience for all their guests. I've been in the habit again for a long time. So far I have always enjoyed being there and have always been very satisfied. I still find the service very friendly. I was very disappointed with the food this time. The vitamin salad with strips of rump steak and mushrooms was bland and had far too little dressing. A generous portion of salad, but unfortunately with little, barely noticeable dressing. The mushrooms were very salty and the strips of rump steak were sometimes very mixed. The white wine spritzer, which I have always found very tasty, was also very bland this time. The final espresso is too cool, watery and not aromatic at all. Everything came extremely quickly. I have rarely seen the food come so quickly, even with so many guests. Maybe too fast? Too bad.

It's a habit every now and then, the food is really very delicious, the service is simply great and always very polite, the atmosphere is very cozy, only this time I really have to pull off a punk! We were there on Christmas Day and ordered a roast venison, the portion was quite small for my taste, and the prices have gone up enormously compared to last year, but all in all, always happy, so keep it up, dear Sitte team!

Great home-style restaurant plus very nice service. We went there for a goose meal and it was really good.

In 2025 I find it rather poor to only offer one vegetarian and one vegan main course on the menu. The vegan dish was also really not good at all. It tasted a bit like something I'd throw together drunk in the shared kitchen at four o'clock at night. But I don't think it will hurt the chef much, since he probably didn't make any of it himself.

Yesterday I was at the Sitte restaurant in Darmstadt and I was thrilled! The rump steak was absolutely first class – perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The service was brisk and friendly; George in particular made the evening unforgettable with his charming manner. The cozy atmosphere completes the experience.
